Letter of Valiollah Golrizan, the father of Abbas Golrizan a member of the Mujahedin Khalq (the MEK/ PMOI) who has been taken as a hostage by the group for over 35 years:

Dear Abbas,
I hope you are well. Why don’t you answer my letters? why don’t you contact me? When you were a child, I had so many dreams for your future. When you went to army service, I was looking forward to your return. I did not know that the two years of army service would end to so many years of separation. I do not forgive those who deceived you and deprived me from your return. I do not forgive them for they do not allow you to contact your family. How long do I have to endure this separation?

My beloved Abbas
Believe me! I am too old to wait for you. I am sick and I really miss you. You live in a place in which there is no happy ending for your story. The leaders of the MEK tell you lies.

Dear abbas,
Liberate yourself from that hellish camp and get back to your family. Your family and I are waiting for you. Son! Please fulfill my dream!

Your father,
Valiollah Golrizan

Tahereh Golrizan wrote letter to his brother Abbas; hostage at the MEK camp in Albania on the eve of the Persian new year. Some parts of the letter read:
“
Dear Abbas,
Happy new year. The same as every Nowruz we sat at the Haft-Sin Table, remembering you. We wanted you to sit next to us at the Haft-sin table. We missed you a lot. I prayed for you to be near your family.
My dear bro, please release yourself from the cult of Mujahedin and make all of the family happy. This is all I want from you. I hope the new year to be the year of your liberation. “

Abbas was a soldier in Iran-Iraq war when he was taken as a war prisoner by the Iraqi forces. Abbas used to write letters to his family from Iraqi POW camp via the IRC from time to time but when the war was over and eventually the POWs were released by the Iraqi government, Abbas did not return home. Trying to find Abbas, the Golrizan family soon found out that Abbas had been transferred to the camp of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization. Abbas has been in the MEK for over 30 years.

Abbas was a soldier in Iran-Iraq war when he was taken as a war prisoner by the Iraqi forces.
“Abbas used to write letters to us from Iraqi POW camp via the International Red Cross from time to time but when the war was over and eventually the POWs were released by the Iraqi government, Abbas did not return home.”, his sister says.

Trying to find Abbas, the Golrizan family soon found out that Abbas had been transferred to the camp of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization. Abbas has been in the MEK for over 30 years. When the group members based at Camp Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq, the Golrizan family traveled to Iraq several times to visit Abbas. However, the cult leaders didn’t allow them. His family have no access to him. Their only resort is writing letters to the human rights bodies. They also write letters to Abbas and publish them on the cyberspace in the hope that Abbas would see and read them.

Abbas Golrizan sisters

The Abbas sisters have recently written another letter to him:

“Dear brother,
How long should we endure your being away? Save yourself from the trap you have fallen into. You are our only brother. We all love you and want you to be next to us. To live by our side.
We have sent you several letters during all these years. Why didn’t you reply to any of the letters? why don’t you contact us?
Dear bro, we know that you live in the closed camp of the MEK Cult. We know that you do not have access to the outside world. You don’t have permission to call us. We are sure that if you were free, you would have called us.
Please free yourself from the cult boundaries. We want you to live your own life freely. We know that you have had hard time living within the MEK Camps. We are waiting for you to liberate yourself and return to the family.”

Abbas Golrizan was a child when both his mother and father died. He was then raised by his uncle and his wife. His uncle was a farmer in one of the villages in the central province of Iran. He was 18 years old when he started serving as a soldier in the Iranian army. He went to the Iran-Iraq war front and soon he was taken as a war prisoner by the Iraqi forces.

“I and my sister got shocked to hear that Abbas was imprisoned by Iraqis,” Soltan Golrizan, Abbas’s sister says. “He used to write letters to us from Iraqi POW camp via the International Red Cross from time to time but when the war was over and eventually the Pows were released by the Iraqi government, Abbas did not return home.”

Abbas Golrizan family

The Golrizan family tried to find Abbas. They were afraid of his being dead in Iraqi jail but they soon found out that Abbas had been taken to the camp of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ Cult of Rajavi). Abbas has been in the MEK for over 30 years. His family have no access to him. Their only resort is writing letters to the Albanian authorities or to publish messages on the Internet.

The wife of Abbass’s uncle says that Abbas was like his son for her. “I miss him a lot, I hate the leaders of Camp Ashraf who kidnapped Abbas from his family,” she said in an interview with Nejat Society.
In her recent message to Abbas, Soltan Golrizan addresses her brother, “Abbas! You have not contacted me for many years. They showed me a photo of you, Last year. I could not believe it was you. You looked so old. What did the terrorist leaders of MEK do with you?”

Then she calls on the leaders of MEK, “Why did you imprison my brother? Why do you hate the Iranian people? Goddamn you! You made us suffer for years. You do not let my brother call me and you name yourself humans! In Iran, a prisoner has the right to visit his family. You are so cruel.”
