Sokol Beqiraj, who writes on the portal of the former Enverist Cerciz Loloci, albspirit, and the portal of the mujahedin of Manze IranProbe, is a regular translator of the mujahedin army. The latest threat launched by Sokol Beqiraj and followed by mujahedin accounts, sends a gloomy message for freedom of speech and thought in Albania.

While the police and the Albanian court confiscated the mujahedin’s computers a month ago, the reappearance and re-activation of the mujahedin on social networks shows that the MEK has received new computers, has resumed political activity, which Prime Minister Edi Rama denounced a few weeks ago.

These facts, threats and blackmails, must be investigated by the anti-terrorist police and the SPAK and mujahedin activity must be stopped again.

Hassan Heyrani who was illegally jailed and forced by the Albanian government to leave Albania, is now safe and free. He has taken refuge in Greece.

Hassan Heyrani

Expressing his pleasure for the release of Heyrani, Dashamir Mersuli, the Albanian president of ASILA published an announcement on January 8th, to declare Hassan’s presence in the office of the association. Mersuli asked God for Heyrani’s prosperity since his health was seriously threatened by the hunger strike.

Hassan Heyrani and five other defectors of the MEK, currently members of ASILA, Hassan Shahbaz, Gholam Shekari, Ali Hajari, Mehdi Soleimani and Ehsan Bidi were detained without being accused of any crime and under no judicial arrest warrant. During the two months of detention, no clear answer has been given to them about the reason of their detention.
When Hassan was on hunger strike, his wife Margarita Balco made efforts to pursue his case in the Albanian governmental bodies and media. Hassan himself published a video to call on the authorities to investigate his case as a legal refugee who has been residing in Albania for seven years with official residence permit.

On January 7th, 2023, Hassan Heyrani is on his twentieth day of his hunger strike to draw attention of the Albanian authorities to his case and the case of five other ASILA members who have been detained by the Albanian border and immigration Police since November 11th.

Hassan Heyrani left the MEK seven years ago and began building a new life in the Albanian community. He is married to Margarita Balco, an Albanian girl. They are going to have a baby while Hassan’s fate in Albania is not clear.
In his video message from custody, Hassan calls on the Albanian government to give them a clear answer on the reason of their detention otherwise deliver them to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees that transferred them from Iraq to Albania seven years ago.

As a defector of the MEK, Hassan Heyrani wonders why the Albanian government first received him on the base of humanitarian reason as a member of the MEK but now that he has defected the group, he is no more welcome in their country. “I joined the MEK for freedom but after I found out that they were lying I separated myself from them,” he explains about his former membership in the cult of Maryam Rajavi.
“I continue hunger strike until receiving a clear answer from the government” he says. “How long should we be here and what future is waiting for us?”

On November 8, 2022, Hassan Heyrani, 43 years old, was imprisoned in the Closed Center for Foreigners Karreç, in Durrës. Summoned by the Directorate of Immigration Police in Laprakë, he appeared together with some of his friends, members of the “ASILA” society in Albania, to renew their residence permit, but from there they were sent to Karreç, where for several days they have been on hunger strike.

“Hasan came to Albania in 2016 and left the Manza camp in 2018, because he wanted a free life, he wanted to start a family. He was called to the Directorate of Immigration Police in Laprakë to renew his residence permit, and there he was told that he should go to the detention center in Karreç, for reasons of national security. Hassan has been in the detention center for 2 months and he doesn’t know why he is inside. He has his own association “Asila” and a bar. I addressed the Ministry of the Interior, the Prime Minister with letters, the President, the Directorate of the Immigration Police, and they gave me a vague answer, which is for national security. 5 of his friends were also imprisoned. I suspect that this was done by Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the mujahedin, because Hassan showed the dirty things that were done in the MEK, what really happened,” said Margarita.

We remind you that for several years Albania has become one of the places of refuge for members of the organization People’s Mujahedin of Iran, in other words (MEK), which until recently was considered a terrorist organization by most Western countries.

In the month of August, at the book fair organized in Durrës, there was also a clash between the mujahedin who live inside the Manza camp and those who left it, representatives of the “ASILA” association. One of them was Hassan Heyrani.

The name of Hassan Heyrani – on the website MEK Iran.com is among the names of the Intelligence Agents of the Iranian regime in Albania.
From November 8, 2022, he is in the closed center for foreigners in Karreç, Durrës.

He does not know why he is inside and it is the 17th day of the hunger strike, that he is waiting for a correct answer from our government. If he did something, why don’t they take him to court and punish him? In July last year, Hassan and his 10 friends’ apartments were searched by SPAK and they found nothing inside.

Before going on hunger strike, in a connection from the center of Karreç, Hasan talked about the difficult conditions in which he is.
“We are here without any explanation. No one answers us, it’s very cold, no heater. We sleep with coats and hoods. The officer told us that he did not like the interviews we gave to the BBC and some other media, where we talked about the mujahedin. Honestly, we are scared, because here it is like a prison. For more than 40 days, we could not go out to get fresh air. We are just in a room, where all the doors are closed. Every week, or once every two weeks, a group of policemen come and pick up a person, put him in a car and immediately take him to Greece. I told them, if we have any problem, if we have broken any law of Albania, please go to court, before the judges. “,he said.

Hassan Heyrani and five other members of ASILA, all former members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq have been detained in Karreç detention center, Albania, since one and a half months ago despite owning legal residence permit cards.
“The democratic government of Albania has illegally detained us without being accused of any charge,” Heyrani writes. “The inquiries made by ASILA officials, our lawyers and our wives have been left unanswered by the Albanian authorities.”

Heyrani asserts that the officials’ lack of attention to their conditions in the detention center is caused by a corrupted system that has been bought by the MEK leaders. In fact, the only response to the inquiries made by his wife and her family was by the side of commissioner Ferdinant Gjeta, the acting director of the local border and migration directorate in Kuke, Albania. “After many visits to the immigration office, my wife finally received a letter signed by Ferdinant Gjeta in which he admits that Hassan Heyrani has no legal problem and his detention has been done under the direct order of the Albanian Interior Minister.”

“It is a shame that a European, allegedly democratic country imprisons people without taking any judiciary process including the judge’s ruling and without expressing any accusation,” he continues.
The most recent incident regarding their detention seems to be appalling and irrational. “I should inform you that two plainclothesmen have come over to the wife of one of the detained members and told her why she, as an Albanian woman, had married an Iranian saying that she would have no future with him!”

According to Heyrani’s statement, the two plainclothesmen had persuaded that woman to divorce from her Iranian husband! Heyrani suggests that this “evil” act must have been backed by the MEK.

He states, “Rajavi has come to know that after one and a half months of imprisonment, the detained members will not give up and will not surrender to the MEK’s treasonous nature so she began to intimidate their wives…Rajavi has the illusion that these devilish acts are part of her so-called relentless struggle against the Islamic Republic but it is clear that these heinous acts and political crimes of the Cult of Rajavi reveals the truth behind its revolutionary face.”

Hassan Heyrani is one of dozens of Iranian defectors who have abandoned the Mojahedin terrorist cult during the past years. The Albanian government which hosted the Mojahedin-e Khalq in 2016, is persecuting the defectors of MEK by locking them in the Karrec detention center. Iranian defectors are not allowed to have access to courts, to be sent in front of a judge and defend themselves in the court of law. The UNHCR which brought them to Albania, is ignoring the fate of this stateless people as well. Albanian counterterrorism officials who take orders from Maryam Rajavi and the Mojahedin cult, treat the defectors of MEK as criminals.

Hassan Heyrani explains the horrible conditions in the camp of Karrec, where they do not have enough food, no heating, are not allowed to meet their family members and are not allowed even to take medicines to cure themselves. While Maryam Rajavi and the Mojaheden command would have wished to have Hassan and his friends killed for abandoning the jihad, the government of Edi Rama is killing the Iranian defectors slowly: through illegal administrative detentions, starvation and keeping them in cold.
