Pluralistic democracy is, by definition, a political system in which there is more than one center of power. Modern democracies are pluralistic by definition because democratic systems allow freedom of associations and parties. But the half-century history of the MEK’s activities has shown that there is only one center of power in the group, and that is Massoud Rajavi, who is at the top of the organizational pyramid, followed by Maryam Rajavi and then some higher-ranking members of the group’s hierarchy.

Establishing justice in a society is not possible without deepening democracy, and in an organization like the MEK, which is run hierarchically, democracy is sacrificed first and then justice is gone. Discrimination is one of the definitive consequences of such a structure. Although the MEK, with its uniformed forces and the use of titles such as “Sister Mujahed” and “Brother Mujahed,” tries to hide its structural injustices, members who have left the group have repeatedly testified about the severe inequalities between the higher-ranking members and commanders of the group compared to the lower-ranking members and subordinate forces.

Aylin Moghadam, a former member of the MEK, was a child soldier who served the MEK for many years. In her posts on her X social media account, she writes about the extreme injustices and the discriminating system of access to facilities in Rajavi’s cult:

The authorities of the MEK eat well, but the rest of the ranks eat beef. Mehdi Abrishamchi and his daughter Ashraf Abrishamchi have natural fruit juice for breakfast. Of course, high-ranking officials like Faezeh Ranjkar, Sedigheh Hosseini, and Zohreh Akhiani all have special diets and are never the subject of any criticism session. And whether in Ashraf Iraq or Ashraf 3, they always stay in air-conditioned rooms, but the rest have air conditioning for just a few hours of the day and are mostly in the sun and in the heat, with terrible nutrition and $8 a month, the equivalent of Albanian money, with which they really can’t buy anything.

But in the wallets of the commanders there is at least a thousand dollars in cash. I said at least. In the wallets of people like Fahimeh Arvani there is even three thousand dollars in cash apart from credit cards. It is up to you!

 In addition, having a phone is free for the leadership council and high-ranking brothers, but it is forbidden for low-ranking forces!!

From these few lines written by Aylin, we can see that inequality in the MEK dominates all aspects of its members’ lives. As can be seen from the memories of other former members, this injustice in terms of nutrition, medical treatment, use of urban facilities, and enjoyment of entertainment has created a deep class gap between high-ranking and low-ranking members.

Also, in terms of enduring psychological pressure and organizational coercion, low-ranking members are greater and more numerous victims. In the pluralistic democracy claimed by the MEK, the number of underprivileged individuals is much greater than that of the well-off commanders and leaders.

The newly-weds lived in safe houses of the group together with other members. A former member of the MEK who lived with Maryam and Mehdi and their little girl Ashraf, recalls the quarrels between the couple about joining Massoud Rajavi in France. Maryam urged her then-husband to move to France as soon as possible.

Finally, the family fled to France where Maryam became Massoud’s office manager. Former security official of the MEK in Paris, Massoud Khodabandeh states that he witnessed that Maryam was once taken to hospital by Saleh Rajavi, Massoud’s brother in order to have an abortion.”She had Masoud Rajavi’s baby,”says Khodabandeh.

It did not take Massoud Rajavi a long time to declare his third marriage with Maryam QajarAzdanlou. The controversial marriage that took place in 1985 was called by the leader as”The novel ideological revolution”. The so-called marriage was the start of the eventual bizarre actions in the group.

Mehdi Abrishamchi and Maryam Rajavi divorced under the order of Massoud Rajavi and soon Rajavi married Maryam. The luxurious wedding ceremony of Massoud and Maryam was held in Paris. Maryam took off the wedding ring of Mehdi and immediately put on the ring offered by Massoud Rajavi. She was called”Maryam Rajavi”since the novel ideological marriage.

Mehdi Abrishamchi shook hands with Massoud Rajavi and congratulated his ex-wife’s marriage with the leader Massoud Rajavi. He then addressed the audience in the hall:”As a Mujahed Khalq and as a child of the Khalq (people), I congratulate Massoud and Maryam with each and every cells of my body and I am full of ideological happiness.”

Therefore, Ashraf Abrishamchi, the three-year-old daughter of Mehdi and Maryam was the first child left behind the ideological divorce. Later, Mehdi married the seventeen-year-old Mina Khiabani, under the leadership order. Mina was the sister of Musa Khiabani, a high ranking member of the group killed in a clash with the Iranian government.

The outcome of the novel ideological revolution were ideological divorces. Consequently, hundreds of Mujahed families collapsed. Normally Mehdi and Mina divorced too. The only marriage that survived the alleged revolution was that of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. Furthermore, it was developed and expanded by the mass marriages of Massoud Rajavi with women of the MEK’s Elite Council.

This letter which has the hallmarks of the Mojaheden command seem similar to the forced confessions that jihadi captives in Syria, Libya, Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries are forced to read and sign by al-Qaeda, ISIS and Jahbat al-Nusra terrorist organizatons.

Olsi and Gjergji analyse the smuggling operation that MEK has carried from Albania into France. They question the role that #MaryamRajavi, #NCRI and Mahdi Abrichamchi has played in this smuggling operation. The Mojahedin have breached the security network of Albania, Greece and France. Together with Hadi they might have also smuggled weapons in Europe.

In a time when the United State and the European Powers are trying to re-enact the Iran Nuclear Deal, MEK is doing all it can to sabotage it. Exclusive: In Leaked Audio, Unfaithful MKO Leader Calls US Presidents ‘Criminal’

A top leader of the Mujahedhin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) calls the US an imperialist regime, and accuses its presidents – from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama – of committing crimes against the terrorist cult, a leaked audio released by the Iran Front Page reveals.

Mehdi Abrishamchi, a founding member of the anti-Iran terror group, made the remarks in a secret intra-organizational meeting, whose contents have been leaked by an MKO member.

After carrying out a chain of terrorist attacks in Iran, Abrishamchi fled the country along with a number of his comrades, including his wife Maryam Qajar-Azodanlu. However, he was later forced to divorce his wife at the request of then MKO leader Masoud Rajavi, who later married Maryam. Abrishamchi even surprised observers by attending their wedding ceremony.

The leaked audio of Abrishamchi’s speech at a gathering of the most trusted members of the Rajavi cult indicates his deep dissatisfaction with the regional approach adopted by many of US presidents, from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

One of the reasons for his dissatisfaction is the US’ invasion of Iraq, which resulted in the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, and according to Abrishamchi, the growth of Iran’s influence in the Arab country.

He also blasts Bill Clinton for designating the MKO as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, arguing that committing acts of terrorism inside Iran is their “right”.

Without referring to the US support for the terrorist cult, the senior MKO member lashes out at the US presidents with a humiliating tone, and does not even exclude Donald Trump, whose administration has become known as a staunch supporter of the MKO.

In his remarks, he does not point to his organization’s friendly relations with Trump’s national security advisor John Bolton, his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and a number of other notorious US hawks who earlier delivered speeches at the MKO gatherings.

Even in one of his MKO speeches, Bolton promised they would celebrate their victory in Tehran in 2019.

Despite the explicit support of senior Trump administration officials for the MKO at their gatherings, Abrishamchi says he does not pin any hope on Trump, and just wishes the US president would not harm them.

The MKO group, known in Iran as the Monafiqeen (‘the hypocrites’), are known to be divided in their political, social, and organizational behaviours.

After the Revolution, Abrishamchi became one of the senior members of the organization. Soon after, the MKO broke out with the Iranian government, he along the MKO and fled to Iraq finding a safe haven near the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein who was at war with the Iran.

During the Iran-Iraq war, Abrishamchi was a unit commander in the ‘National Liberation Army of Iran’, the military wing of the MKO –Saddam’s Private Army—fighting against Iranians. After the collapse of Saddam and the consequent disarmament of the NLA and the disappearance of Massoud Rajavi, Abrishamchi was evolved to be a top an official of the group’s political wing ‘National Council of Resistance’.

Abrishamchi was married to Maryam Qajar Azdanlou, the younger sister of a veteran member of the group until January 1985. In 1985 that the leader of the MKO Massoud Rajavi decided to marry Maryam. Thus Abrishamchi divorced Maryam in order to pave the way for Massoud and Maryam’s marriage that would be then called the ‘ideological revolution’. He congratulated Massoud and Maryam in the big celebration that the group held in Paris. Whatever the true reasons behind the marriage, the results were crystal clear. The marriage ended to more isolation of the rank and file. Shortly after, he married to Mousa Khiabani’s younger sister Azar who was only 17 years old at the time.

Mehdi Abrishamchi has been one of the top authorities of the MKO to run Massoud Rajavi’s rule over the rank and file. He believes that “Brother Massoud” is a prophet and a representative of God on the Earth.

After the 9/11 disaster in the US territory, Abrishamchi congratulated the group Massoud and Maryam in a gathering that was held in the group’s camp in Iraq in order to celebrate the catastrophic incident. “The collapse of the Twin Towers is a big sign of decomposition and annihilation of the USA,” he addressed the audience.

Abrishamchi is currently living in France acting as one of the key figures of the MKO’s propaganda against the Iranian nuclear program and is engaged in other disinformation campaigns against Iran. After the relocation of the MKO’s members from Iraq to Tirana, Albania, he was charged with a new responsibility.

Once the group had been resettled in a European country, the increasing rate of defection of the group made Maryam Rajavi to seek a solution to prevent more members from leaving the group. Make a proper decision to stop more departure from the group. Rajavi sent two top level to mend this problem. Fixers –Mehdi Abrishamchi and Zohreh Merikhi – to intervene to stop the rapid dissolution of the MKO.

Former members of the MKO recount horrible testimonies of how Abrishamchi treats the dissents in the group. He is a hated figure for ex-members of the group who call him a” torturer” and the “guardian of the Maryam Rajavi’s prison”.
