Members of Nejat Society Albania celebrated the “International Family Day” together. On May 15, on the occasion of International Family Day, Iranian and Albanian members of the Nejat Society gathered with the lovely people of Tirana in the city’s central park and held a warm and passionate celebration by the beautiful lake in the park.

This gathering was not just a simple celebration; it was a symbol of returning to social life, liberation from years of isolation and regaining the self-confidence that had been taken away from them in the closed and limited space of a cult-like system of Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK).

About 30 Albanian citizens and all members of the association participated in this program. Defectors of the MEK, those who had been kept away from family, society and human connections for many years, freely laughed, danced and experienced moments full of joy and hope alongside the Albanian people. The warm presence of the people of Tirana showed that people can return to society and start a new life, regardless of their bitter past.

The event was held in a very positive, warm and happy atmosphere. During the program, traditional Albanian and Iranian dances were performed, songs were sung and fun activities were organized that created beautiful moments of friendship and cultural exchange between all participants.

During the activity, food and drinks were served to the participants, while interviews and interactions from the participants and citizens present in the area were also conducted.

While celebrating Family Day, Nejat Society Albania emphasizes the importance of family, freedom of human communication and the right of every person to live alongside society and their loved ones.

Honorable Chairman

Representatives of government institutions,

Respected human rights experts,

Representatives of international organizations,

Ladies and gentlemen, friends and participants of this conference,

It is a great honor for me to speak today, on the World Day of Social Justice, on a topic that touches the very essence of human dignity: human rights, social protection and legal responsibility towards the most vulnerable members of society, especially refugees and Iranian citizens defected from the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) Organization, who have been deprived of their fundamental rights for years.

This day is not just a symbolic date on the calendar; it is a collective reminder that societies are measured not by economic or political power, but by how they treat their most vulnerable people.

Social welfare is not a privilege; it is a fundamental human right. The concept of social protection emerged from the historical need to ensure that no one is left outside the human protection system. After World War II, the international community understood that without social justice, lasting peace is not possible.

Social protection includes:

-Minimum economic security

-Access to health services

-Right to legal identity

-Protection from abuse and exploitation

-Social and legal integration

But above all, it expresses the recognition of the value of each person as a human being. Human rights are not privileges granted by governments. Human rights are born with the very existence of man. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights established the following principles:

-Every human being has the right to be free.

-Every human being has the right to think and choose.

-No one should be subjected to inhuman treatment.

-No one should be separated from family or community.

When these principles are violated, it is not just a legal problem; it is a moral crisis. Refugees are among the most vulnerable groups. International law requires states not to return people to countries where they are in danger, to guarantee legal identity, to provide access to justice, and to protect their physical and mental health.

The Geneva Conventions set a clear standard: protecting the human person is above any political interest.

But the real problem is not the absence of law; it is its implementation. The situation that many Iranian citizens who have separated from the MEK have experienced in this organization includes social isolation, restrictions on personal freedom, prohibitions on contact with family, psychological pressure, loss of personal identity.

After the separation, many were left without legal documents, economic support, full access to the legal system, or a public voice. This situation requires concrete legal solutions, not just human sympathy. The law is there to protect the individual from the abuse of power, whether it be state or organizational.

When an organization restricts individual freedoms, these legal questions arise:

– Has individual autonomy been respected?

– Has psychological coercion been used?

– Have family rights been violated?

– Has freedom of choice been restricted?

If the answer is yes, we are facing a serious violation of international human rights standards.

Leaving the closed structure is not the end of the problems. People who leave face:

-Psychological trauma

-Social distrust

-Economic problems

-Cultural isolation

Social support should include:

-Psychological rehabilitation

-Legal assistance

-Education and skills training

-Social support

Society should not only save people from injustice; it should also help them rebuild their lives.

The mission of Nejat Society Albania is not political; it is humanitarian.

Its objectives:

-Defense of fundamental rights of individuals

-Legal aid

-Reestablishment of family ties

-Social and professional integration

In practice, it means giving back to the most important thing to man: his voice.

The global challenges that stand in the way of this path are: mass migration, ideological conflicts, psychological control and disinformation. The law must evolve to protect the individual not only from physical violence, but also from psychological and social control. And the main tasks of governments are:

-Preventing violations of rights

-Protecting victims

-Reintegrating individuals into society

Without these three pillars, social protection is just a theory. Silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality; it is complicity with it.

Conclusion:

Every era is judged by how it treats the powerless. If we want a just society, we must protect the most voiceless. Social protection is not politics; it is humanity in action.

Thank you.

In the premises of the “Fresku” hotel in Tirana, a conference on the topic “From Tirana to Tehran” was held yesterday, organized by the Nejat Society Albania. The event was received with great interest by numerous citizens, intellectuals, journalists and families whose relatives are trapped in the isolated camp of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) in Manzë.

The hall was full of interested participants, who followed with attention every word of the speakers and their touching stories about the violence, isolation and deceptions in the destructive cult of Rajavi. The atmosphere was warm, emotional and full of solidarity with the families of the MEK victims.
Representatives of the Albanian community also participated in this conference, expressing their indignation at the way the group manipulates people and uses Albanian territory for political and terrorist purposes. Some of the speakers, former MEK members, shared their personal experiences, showing the true and violent face of the group and the abuses that occur within the camp in Manzë.

A special moment was the speech of Aldo Sullolari, president of Nejat Society Albania, who had just returned from a trip to Iran. He spoke about his meetings with many Iranian families who are waiting with hope for news from their relatives trapped by the MEK in Albania. “The voices of these mothers and fathers must be heard here, in Albania, where their isolated sons are. Our association will continue to be a bridge of communication between them,” Aldo emphasized with emotion.
The conference also read several messages from families suffering from the MEK’s violence and terror. Those messages touched everyone’s hearts, showing the pain that this cult has caused for many families.

At the end of the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to talk with members of the Nejat Society Albania and with former members released from the camp, expressing their full support for their humane and courageous initiative. Many of them emphasized that such activities help the Albanian public to better understand the dark reality inside the MEK camp.

The “Tirana to Tehran” conference showed once again that the truth cannot be hidden. The voice of families, the love of mothers and relatives for their children, and the desire for justice are stronger than any propaganda or deception of the violent MEK cult.

Iran claimed the title of the 2024 U-23 World Championships in Tirana, Albania. Iran won the team title with 149 points with yet another incredible performance. Iran collected three gold medals and four bronzes in the competition.

Iranian and Albanian members of Nejat Society Albania were in the stadium to cheer for Iranian wrestlers. Holding the flag of Iran and the logo of Nejat Society, they attended the stadium where the matches were held and enthusiastically cheered for the Iranian national team, which had a significant impact on the spirit of the Iranian athletes.

Nejat activists used the opportunity to introduce the society drawing the audience attention to the human rights violations in the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) camp in Manz. People from the audience approached and were eager to know what these Iranians were doing in Albania, and the necessary explanations were given to them.
What attracted the most attention of the audience was the expression of emotions and enthusiasm of Ermolindo Rahimi, the six-year-old son of Sarfraz and Erisa, who, despite the fact that he has never seen Iran, had the whole stadium shouting “Long live Iran”.

The English translation of the text of Mrs. Erisa Rahimi’s speech, to be presented at the Modena conference, which was given to the officials of La Terra dei Padri before her trip to Italy.

Good day everyone and welcome to my presentation.
First of all, let me thank you all for coming here today. I also wish to thank the organizers particularity Mr. Luciano Lago for inviting me to participate and speak about a very interesting and important topic in this conference.
Let me start by introducing myself.

My name is Erisa Idrizi. I am the president of Nejat Society in Albania. Nejat Society, with the aim of supporting the Iranians living in Albania, has been active for several years and last year I managed to officially register it along with some other humanitarian Albanians in Tirana.

I speak with pain about betraying the country, terrorism and violation of human rights, because I have seen a lot of evidence and heard a lot of suffering testimonies and felt the pain of friends, colleagues and members of the Nejat Society in Albania, which consists of the former members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO) and their Albanian friends.

I was introduced to MEK seven years ago by my husband, Sarfaraz Rahimi, a former member of this organization who managed to rescue himself and live freely. We have a six-year-old son called Ermolindo.

Seven years ago, my husband’s words seemed unbelievable, when he told me that during 17 years he did not communicated with his family, he did not have the right to think freely, he did not have the right to leave the camp in Iraq for fun or for medication, he did not have the right to communicate with any member inside the camp, not even with his brother and his nephew, who were also part of this organization, and he did not have the right to marry and form a family.

But the thing that amazed me the most was how the leaders of this organization controlled the feelings and thoughts of the members. My husband and many other members who have been part of this organization told me that every night they had to sit and write their thoughts and the work they had done during the day and criticize themselves.
Aren’t you surprised now?

I was also surprised 7 years ago. How can a person have so much power over the others to control their thoughts to the point that forcing them to write down all their thoughts and even their dreams, and the people be punished if they thought about their family, friends or anyone and anything outside the organization?

Members would be psychologically punished in the form of being severely criticized and morally insulted in daily sessions called the “the current operation” or peer pressure.

Don’t you think that this is the most inhuman act against the members? That is, controlling their thoughts so that they deny their families and parents? Do you think this is the only criminal act of this organization? There are so many of them that I need a whole day to count them all for you.

But I only refer to some main topics about the criminal activities practiced systematically by the MEK.
The first is abusing the basic human rights of the members in a mind control destructive cult. The members have no right to leave the camp in Albania or resign, they have no right to marry and form a family or contact with the outside world particularly the family and friends. No one can have private ownership whatsoever. Members are not allowed to medication and there have been suspicious deaths inside the camp.

Members who live in a remote and isolated camp are subject to psychological thought control techniques systematically. Those who managed to escape and free themselves say that many individuals wish to free themselves but they have been frightened that they would be arrested and imprisoned by the Albanian police if they leave the camp.

Maryam Rajavi, the leader of MEK after the absence of her husband Massoud Rajavi, claims to respect the women’s rights inside the organization which is totally false. Women are subject to double abuse inside the cult. According to the Ideological Revolution masterminded by Massoud Rajavi, all female members are considered the legitimate wives of him. Some women including Batul Soltani who lives in Germany have confessed that Massoud Rajavi has sexually abused the female members systematically.

What has really shocked the world was the testimony of some former members who were child soldiers inside the organization. The documentary “the children of camp Ashraf” revealed this fact for the world. Members aged even 14 were forced to fight for Iraq against Iranian soldiers.

The discontented members have been subject to solitary confinement, torture, sham executions, and even death according to many witnesses. These types of criminal acts are still going on in the MEK camp and unfortunately the Albanian government has no control over the inside affairs of the camp.

The second is assassinations and terrorist activities inside Iran even against ordinary civilians and also inside Iraq against the Kurds in the north and Shiites in the south of the country with the cooperation of Saddam Hossein.

And the third which is also still going on now is to target the psychological security of the Iranians by forming a cyber army or troll farm in Albania. Hundreds have sat in front of keyboards and try to deceive individuals with disguised names.
This organization, which has currently located its military, security and intelligence departments in Albania, is using the Internet in my country as their main weapon to deceive the Iranian youth into sabotage activities.

How do they do it? They open different accounts with different fake names in the social media and they contact the Iranians in Iran with false identities and force them for small payments to set fire in government institutions, make explosion in parks regardless of the fact that there may be children, women, and families. Some young people have been the victims of the deception of the MEK in this respect.

Those who were arrested by the police in Iran and were imprisoned say that they (MEK) on the other side of the line were so convincing and they did not thing about the consequences of their activities.

MEK is no longer a major security issue for Iran, but rather a human rights issue for the families. Many families of the MEK members in Iran are suffering because Rajavi does not allow the members to have any sort of contact with them. They do not know anything about their loved ones trapped inside MEK for decades. They have formed the Nejat Society in Iran and trying to draw the attention of International Organizations to this human catastrophe.

I urge you to use all your capacity to demand the International and Albanian authorities to have some sort of control over the internal affairs of the camp and apply state sovereignty over that part of the territory and make sure the basic human rights are respected according to the European Convention on Human Rights.

This is all for now as there is much more to say. I would be more than happy to be able to answer your queries if there is any.

Thank you so much again and cheers

On Friday, July 19, 2024, the Nejat Society Albania took an action in support of the families of members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), who want to contact their loved ones after decades.

In this campaign that was held in the National Park of Tirana, a number of Iranian and Albanian members of Nejat Society Albania distributed explanatory flyers among the passers-by. They were welcomed by the people in the national park.

This action was carried out in support of the families of Nejat Society in Iran and in order to expose the violation of the most basic human rights in the MEK’s camp in Manez, Durres province, North of Tirana.

While taking the papers, the people asked for more explanations about the MEK and their presence in Albania, their internal relations and the inhuman treatment they have against their own members and their families. In response, the members of Nejat Society Albania provided them with detailed information.

Those who read the flyers and heard the explanations, expressed their sympathy for the families and expressed regret for the suffering they have endured during these years.
All the people emphasized on the demand that the Albanian government should intervene in this matter and put an end to the miserable conditions and to aid the people inside the closed and remote Manez camp so that they can choose for their own fate.

The video and full report of the action will be broadcast soon by Nejat Society Albania.

For Bijar Rahimi, 21 years of captivity in a destructive cult means losing the best time of his life. His youth was lost like many other youths who fell into the trap of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK). He was recruited by fraudulent tactics of the MEK while he was seeking a good job, with the dream of a better life and prosperity. He spent 21 years of his life behind the mental and physical bars of the Cult of Rajavi.

Bijar Rahimi was recruited by the MEK shortly before the coalition forces’ invasion to Iraq. In a letter he wrote to the International Red Cross after leaving the MEK, he described his past as follows: “I left Iran 22 years ago with the promise and deception of the MEK to go to Europe to find a better job and improve life through Pakistan border but I was taken to Camp Ashraf in Diyala province, Iraq. I joined the organization one month before the invasion by the coalition forces in 2003. After the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the disarmament of the MEK by the United States, I was told that it was not possible to go to Europe. Then I and many other people who came with the same promise were faced with this trick that if we returned to Iran, we would be imprisoned, tortured and executed. Under the pressure of meetings and brainwashing techniques, despite our inner desire, we were forced to stay in the organization.”

Both Bijar and his brother Sarfaraz were caught in the trick of MEK recruiters. Sarfaraz managed to leave the group after the relocation of the group in Albania, but Bijar remained under the mental pressure of the destructive Cult of Rajavi. “The leaders of the Cult of Rajavi deceived me and forced me to stay in the organization by brainwashing and taking an oath, and they wasted 21 years of my life without any salary or savings, without the right to call and communicate with my family, without having a family, and with illness and mental and physical problems.”

Even since he was in Iraq, Bijar wanted to leave the MEK. In his testimonies, he states that in 2016, when he was living in Camp Liberty in Iraq, his asylum case was successfully submitted by Norway through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. But the officials of the MEK dissuaded him from becoming a refugee to Norway and forced him to stay in the organization.

Leaving the MEK thanks to the power of the media

While Bijar was trapped in the MEK’s camp in Manz village in the north of Tirana, his brother, Sarfraz Rahimi, married an Albanian girl named Erisa Edrisi and had a family. Unlike many members of the MEK, whose families are trying to visit them from Iran, Sarfaraz lived a few kilometers away from Bijar in the city of Tirana. His efforts to meet Bijar had been faced with obstacles from the leaders of the MEK. He and his wife wanted their son Ermolindo to meet his uncle Bijar, and this double motivation led them to cooperate with Nejat Society in Iran and to establish Nejat Society Albania.

Since the early days of her marriage with Sarfaraz, Erisa Rahimi was in contact with members of the MEK who were friends of her husband. She, who is the head of Nejat society Albania today, said in his recent interview with News 24 of Albania about her motivation to cooperate with Nejat Society: “Because I was a Persian translator for Iranians, I got to know their pain and suffering inside the MEK so I made a promise to myself, to help them. As a translator, I was with them to go to the doctor and get a residence permit and rent a house, etc. I was very happy when Nejat Society Albania was formed with the help of the Nejat Society Iran because I could better support people in the society. The important task of our association is to help families inside Iran to free their children from the captivity of the MEK.”

The humanitarian and cultural activities of Nejat Society Albania to support MEK defectors, helping to integrate them into the Albanian society and enlightening about the nature of the Cult of Rajavi and its threats to the Albanian society, made Erisa and Sarfraz as activists of the society, to be noticed by the Albanian media. The result of several media appearances of the brother and his wife in the Albanian media was that Bijar became aware of his brother’s health and freedom, despite the lies that his commanders had told him.
In an interview with Bijar, Sarfaraz and Erisa by Euronews Albania, in March 2024, Bijar described the story of his escape from the MEK as follows: “I am fortunate that with the help of Euronews after the attack of the Albanian police on Ashraf 3, I saw Sarfraz and in this way, I got hope and was able to escape. I am very happy now that in addition to being here in Albania, I can contact my other family members in Iran whenever I want, as well as my friends in Europe and anywhere in the world.”

Bijar’s story motivates both media activists and Nejat Society

Aldo Sollulari, a journalist who became acquainted with the Nejat Society Albania and its activities through his career, is today the media manager of the Society and works there along with several other Albanian citizens. In a recent interview with the Albanian News 24, when his couleague asked about the most impressive story of MEK defectors in Albania, he mentioned the story of Bijar and Sarfraz Rahimi. After the Albanian police entered Camp Ashraf 3, Bijar saw the interview that Aldo Solulari had conducted with Sarfaraz and Erisa on News 24. The Interview made Bijar realize that the MEK’s propaganda about his brother was a lie and that his brother is outside the organization, not so far away waiting to see him.
Bijar got a visa (an exit permit by MEK commanders) to leave Camp Manz under the pretext of shopping, and soon after leaving, he submited himself to the Albanian police. He was reunited with his brother’s family with the legal protection of the Albanian police and today enjoys the individual freedoms of a free citizen.

Bijar’s story has some similarities with the stories of some other former members of the MEK. There are other people who, using the negligence of the commanders of the MEK and the opportunity to access the Internet and the media, got the spark in their minds to leave the cult. The most recent example was reported in the Le Monde newspaper’s interview with Mohammadreza Torabi, a former child soldier. In this interview, he admits that the first doubts about Massoud Rajavi’s ideology arose in his mind when he got access to the Internet in Tirana and came across an article on Nejat Society’s website, written by Alireza Mirasgari, about the deliberate murder of his father under the torture of MEK interrogators.

Humanitarian mission of Nejat Society

Thus, we see that the activities of Nejat Society, both in Iran and in Albania, can be effective in destroying the mental bars around the Cult of rajavi, in case of proper media coverage. Media reflection is not only useful in enlightening the public opinion, but it is a narrow but possible way to penetrate the minds of the members trapped behind the mental and physical bars of the cult.

Regardless of any political or religious bias, the mission of the Nejat Society is humanitarian and its goal is to facilitate the communication of families with their loved ones imprisoned in the personality cult of Masoud and Maryam Rajavi. For the activists of the Nejat Society, the release of each person from the destructive cult of Rajavi brings lots of pleasant feelings of success and happiness.
