Ebrahim Khodabandeh, a former MEK member and current CEO of the Nejat Society, was interviewed by Tehran Times a few weeks ago.

Sheida Sabzehvari of Tehran Times introduces Nejat Society as “a Tehran-based entity with offices across Iran and Europe that assists families seeking contact with loved ones in the MEK.”

Presenting a summary of his involvement with the MEK, Khodabandeh tell Tehran Times about the group’s tactics to infiltrate the western governments, to buy the support of certain politicians and to raise funds in European cities. He also speaks of the cult-like attitudes of the group leaders who violate the basic rights of their own members.

The CEO of Nejat NGO explains about the activities of the NGO during the past two decades in order to accomplish its mission which is to aid the families of MEK members who are not allowed by the group leaders to contact their loved ones. According to Khodabandeh, cooperating with the international human rights bodies, Nejat NGO has taken a lot of actions to help families but in most cases the bodies have failed to provide adequate assistance in this regard.

The interview has been published in two parts on Tehran Times website. This is part one.

Ebrahim Khodabandeh, CEO of Nejat Society, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Albanian government officials in various separate letters addressed to a number of Albanian government authorities, which were delivered to each office in writing.

In these letters, the CEO of Nejat Society wrote:
“Through the former members of the MEK in the Nejat Society of Albania, I found out that in many cases they have been supported by the authorities and received efficient and effective guidance. They have been satisfied and acknowledged that their rights have been fully respected and the right path has always been shown to them. They have always felt secure and supported in their meetings and have gained moral strength.”

It is also stated in these letters that:
“Recently, the members of the Nejat Society of Albania had problems and, in this regard, they asked for help. Then the authorities of the Albanian government intervened and solved their problems, and acted upon the request of the members of the Nejat Society of Albania. According to the reports received from the members of our Society in Albania, they have been helped every time they have approached the authorities of the Albanian government and asked for help.”

In these letters, it is also mentioned that the police officials helped Mr. Bijar Rahimi and Ali Asghar Zamani when they escaped from the MEK camp and introduced themselves to the police station, and the police officials gave them a sense of security and peace, and the effects of the lies of the leaders of the MEK have been neutralized in their minds. When they went to the police station, contrary to their expectations, they found that they were welcomed and they were assured that there would be no threats against them.

Khodabandeh also wrote about the activities of former members in Albania:
“Former members of the MEK in Albania intend to give wider and more serious dimensions to their human rights activities in relation to reaching the demands of the families in close contact with the Nejat Society, and their confidence in the support of the Albanian government authorities has encouraged them.”

Ebrahim Khodabandeh has mentioned in a part of his detailed letters that:
“Regarding the MEK, it should be mentioned that during the past 7 years, I had explained the cultic and anti-human nature of this organization in numerous letters to the Albanian government officials. The MEK has always become a national security problem for the host country. The MEK acts against the highest national interests of the Iranian people, but it has been proven over the years that these actions have always been against the national interests of the host country too.”

At the end of his letters, the CEO of Nejat Society mentioned that:
“The Nejat Society is deeply grateful to the authorities of the Albanian government for these helps and guidance. I hope one day I will be able to express the gratitude of the families and former members to you and your colleagues. I would also like to come to your country and share my decades of experience with the MEK to you, the government and the people of Albania.”

Following the raid by the Albanian Police to Mujahedin-e Khalq’s base in North of Tirana, Nejat Society hold a rally outside the embassy of Turkey which represents Albanian interests. Nejat Society includes families of residents of the MEK’s camp, Ashraf 3, and former members of the group.

The gathering was held to express gratitude to the Albanian government for the action they took to legally investigate the MEK’s headquarters as a potential place for conspiracy, cyber-attack, financial fraud and human rights abuse.
Expressing their gratitude to the Albanian state, families of MEK members who are taken as hostages in the cult-like system of the group, asked the Albanian authorities for the shutdown of Camp Ashraf 3 and the trial of the leaders of the MEK.
Ebrahim Khodabandeh, The CEO of Nejat Society spoke in the gathering. “After seven years of supporting the MEK, the Albanian government came to the conclusion that the security of its country is more important,” he said. “What we said from the very first day. Now we should take immediate action to seek our requests.”

He expresses further demands of families of MEK members based on traveling to Albania to visit their loved ones and their release from the group’s isolated camp in Albania. Khodabandeh valued the twenty years of humanitarian activities of Nejat Society members.

A ten-point statement signed by members of the society was read out during the gathering. Families asked the Albanian government to prevent the MEK leaders from using their loved ones as human shields against security forces.
The raid of the Albanian anti-corruption Police to Camp Ashraf 3 on June 23, 2023 was the country’s first action taken to investigate the Cult of Rajavi as a formerly designated terrorist group with a long background of violence and human rights abuse, after near ten years of residence in the Albanian territory.

The gathering was coincident with the official settlement of the Albanian Police inside Ashraf 3 to set up a checkpoint there.

Samad Eskandari wrote a letter to Bledar Çuçi, the text of which is as follows:

Excellency, Mr. Bledar (Bledi) Çuçi
Honorable Minister of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Albania

Greetings and respect
I am Samad Eskandari, the legal affairs officer of Nejat Society and the attorney of 250 former members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO, Rajavi Cult) who live in Iran. Each of the former members was trapped in this anti-human group for an average of 10 to 25 years under cultic suppression and brainwashing. We filed a complaint in the courts of Iran, and a final verdict was issued against the leaders of the Rajavi Cult.
Fortunately, with the overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship in Iraq and the creation of suitable conditions, we managed to escape from Ashraf Garrison in Iraq and also from Albania. Due to the presence in this group for many years, each of us is a living document and eyewitness to recount the crimes of the leaders of the MEK in the past decades in Iraq and Albania.

The ideological structure of the MEK is based on the use of deception, violence, murder, torture, elimination of opponents, controversy, etc., and unfortunately, each and every one of us during the years of being in the MEK, only because of the request for the right to communicate with the free world and family, marry and form a family, and the most basic human rights, were subjected to torture, humiliation, and imprisonment by Masoud and Maryam Rajavi. The negative mental and physical consequences have remained as a very bitter experience in the minds and bodies of the members. This surely cannot be refundable .The MEK in Iraq was complicit with Saddam Hussein in killing Kurdish citizens in the north and Shiites in the south of Iraq, and each one of us is an eyewitness to these bitter realities. This organization has also started imprisoning, torturing and killing its disaffected members. After the overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship, the Iraqi government filed a criminal case in the Supreme Central Criminal Court of Iraq to deal with the criminals and war crimes of the MEK, and issued a warrant to arrest Masoud and Maryam Rajavi and a significant number of their key leaders for prosecution. In this regard, Mr. Mowafq al-Rabiei, the national security advisor of the Iraqi government at the time, openly admitted in the presence of domestic and foreign journalists that the MEK were deployed in Iraq by Saddam Hussein, contrary to the laws of that time, and they joined in the suppression of the Iraqi people’s uprising in 1991, and participated in the massacre of Kurds and Shiites. The documents of this case are available in the judicial system of Iraq, and I request you to inquire about this matter from the Iraqi judicial system in order to discover the truth. Among the wanted persons is Abdol Vahab Farjinejad Jahormi, who entered Albania under the fake name of Ali Mostashari and died in the events of June 20, 2023.

Massoud and Maryam Rajavi in Iraq have personally ordered the torture and killing of Qorban Ali Torabi, Parviz Ahmadi, Mehdi Eftekhari and a large number of their members just because of opposing Rajavi and criticizing his policies and working methods. A large number of discontented members of the MEK, such as Karim Pedram, Khodam Golmohammadi, Alan Mohammadi, Minou Fathali, Marjan Akbari, Mehri Mousavi, Homa Bashardoust, Marjan Akbarian, Masoume Ghaibipour, and many others were killed suspiciously.

Yaser Akbari Nasab, as a child soldier who was forcibly transferred from Europe to the MEK garrison in Iraq, due to the growing physical and mental pressure and Maryam Rajavi’s obstruction of his departure, in front of the astonished eyes of everyone in Ashraf, set himself on fire using gasoline and died painfully. These are just a few of the crimes of the MEK under the leadership of Masoud and Maryam Rajavi, and listing all similar examples is beyond the scope of this letter.
I, as the legal representative of Nejat Society and the attorney of the former members of the Rajavi Cult, filed a lawsuit against Masoud Rajavi’s agents, for crime against humanity, through the 55th branch of Tehran International Court, according to file class 9900473 and ruling number 9909970237601145, and the official and definitive ruling was issued in 39 pages according to the available documents, and then the judicial systems of Albania and France came to the knowledge that the leaders and a number of key elements and agents of torture and killing of the MEK have been legally convicted. The second version of the ruling along with the documents of the crimes of the MEK in hundreds of pages was handed over to Mr. Ahmed Karim Khan, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

(The letter sent by The Hague Court ICC)

You only witnessed a small part of the violent and inappropriate behavior of the leaders and operatives of the MEK on June 20 this year in Manëz. This is only a small part of the brutality of the MEK and beyond the law activities, and each one of us has bitter stories of this tragedy in our hearts, which will naturally become more apparent to the world if the nature of the MEK is heard.

Referring to the verdict issued by the Tehran International Court and as the attorney of the former members of the MEK, I will be proud to inform you about the true nature of this cult with the documents based on objective evidence in your country. After a little search and examining the past of the MEK in Iraq, you will realize that wherever they are in the world, they have brought nothing but chaos, division, anarchy and disorder to the host country.
The beautiful country of Albania has a strong affinity with Iran in terms of social, cultural, literary, historical and religious aspects. Those MEK members who separated from the MEK are organized in your country in the Association for the Support of Iranians Living in Albania (ASILA), along other former members in all parts of the world, are ready to appear in a court in Albania to testify against the MEK leaders for criminal acts.

In the end, I would like to make a request to your Excellency, and that is to deal with the situation of three Iranian asylum seekers who are members of ASILA in the Karrc camp, who after years of living in Albania and having wives, are now in captivity for many months without any explanation, which causes deep concerns of their families. I request that Mehdi Soleimani, Hassan Shahbaz, and Gholamreza Shekari be released as soon as possible. I would also like to draw your attention to the case of Mr. Bijan Pouladrag. I am not aware of his case, but I know that he had just left the MEK after so many years and was completely ignorant of the rules and regulations of the free world. My suggestion is that according to the existing conditions and as a humanitarian measure for his worried family who had not heard from him for years, you can pardon him.
Regards
Samad Eskandari,
Legal affairs officer of Nejat Society

To: Her Excellency Mrs. Lindita Nikolla
Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania

From: Ebrahim Khodabandeh
CEO of Nejat Society in Iran

Greetings and Regards
I am Ebrahim Khodabandeh, the CEO of Nejat Society in Iran, and I am writing to you on behalf of the families of the members trapped in the isolated and remote camp of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO, Rajavi Cult) in Albania. These families have been unaware of their loved ones for decades, because the Rajavi Cult does not allow its members to communicate with the outside world, especially with family and friends. For years, the Nejat Society has been trying to somehow make this connection between the families and their loved ones in the MEK camp in Albania possible in order to relieve them of their suffering and worries, but no success has been achieved yet.

I have written many times to the Albanian authorities, demanding an end to the severe violation of the most basic human rights of the members in the MEK camp in Manez, in Durres Province, Albania. The families have repeatedly requested some kind of communication with their loved ones, who are living in absolute isolation, in numerous letters over the years, but unfortunately, no response has been received yet. (A number of recent letters to Albanian statesmen are attached).

You may be aware that the MEK is preparing for its annual gathering in Albania. In this regard, a committee has been formed under the responsibility of Behzad Saffari one of the officials of the organization in Albania, which is in charge of communicating and meeting and inviting Albanian personalities to participate in the ceremony. For this purpose, invitations have been sent to the members of the Albanian parliament and meetings have been held. Some representatives have responded positively to this invitation and are going to participate in this gathering and support this terrorist cult.

It should be noted that participating in this program and supporting this cult means confirming the performance of this organization against the Iranian nation, against the Iraqi nation in the past, and against its own members. According to the testimony of the members separated from this organization, which are now living outside and inside Albania, this organization, by directing the terrorist cells known as rebel centers inside the country from its headquarters in Albania in a section called the Internal Headquarters, is responsible for targeting the security of Iran. Also, by creating a cyber army and troll farm in the headquarters and using the Albanian Internet network, MEK is engaged in psychological warfare against the Iranian nation. At the same time, His Excellency Mr. Edvin Rama, the honorable Prime Minister, has emphasized on several occasions that this group was accepted in Albania for humanitarian reasons and has no right to engage in political activity against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The information obtained indicates that recently this organization has adopted strong defensive measures in its headquarters. The organization has purchased a considerable number of drones from a Turkish company and has also been equipped with anti-drone equipment. Inside the headquarters of this organization, which no Albanian official has the right to enter, bunkers and shelters have been created. Also, super strong cameras have been prepared that can read car numbers from a very long distance.

Recently, one of the security officials of the MEK, named Mehdi Baraii, alias Ahmad Vaqef, has stated inside the camp that they must be fully prepared for any eventuality and has publicly announced that the organization strongly feels threatened and endangered.

In her recent statements, Maryam Rajavi has announced that a new revolutionary storm is coming in Iran and the rebel centers are going to take extensive measures. Also, the officials of the organization have said that they should have a series of offensive operations inside the country before the annual gathering so that they can appear with strength in this meeting. In news, it is stated that about 100 members of the MEK in Albania, including Maryam Rajavi, are planning to go to Paris.

I have been a full-time official of the MEK for 23 years, and based on my knowledge of the mentality of the leaders of the organization, I have no doubt that these defensive and protective measures that are currently taking place inside their headquarters are for the purpose that the organization plans to carry out extensive terrorist activities, which are directed from Albania, inside Iran and prepares itself in advance for possible retaliatory measures.

Also, it is worthy knowing that the members of this organization, especially the officials and leaders, did not enter Albania with their real names and have fake identity documents. Maryam Rajavi and other officials of this organization frequently travel outside of Albania with fake identities and are politically active.

The kind of relationship that the government of Albania wishes to establish with the government of Iran, and the extent it wants to leave the hands of this organization open in the war with the nation and the government of Iran, and the degree it aims entering into this battle for pursuing any interests in this regard is not the subject of discussion for the families. What worries the families is that supporting this organization will be an incentive to suppress its own members and continue the suffering of the families. This organization, under the full support of the Albanian government, has been able to keep its members in complete isolation and cut them off from the outside world, especially their families. Therefore, from this point of view, my request on behalf of the families is to end the all-round and unhesitating support of this organization and force the leaders to recognize the human rights of their members, including the right to communicate with their families.

Respects
Ebrahim Khodabandeh

United Nations Human Rights
Office of the High Commissioner

Prof. Tomoya Obokata
Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery

Greetings and Regards
This is Ebrahim Khodabandeh, the CEO of Nejat Society in Iran. Nejat Society belongs to the families of the members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO) lead by Maryam Rajavi. The group is now living in a remote and closed camp in Albania isolated from the outside world.
MEK is a mind control destructive cult. They had their bases in Iraq under Saddam Hussein and were active during the Iran-Iraq war on the side of the enemy. Their main base was Ashraf Garrison. They were fully armed and financed and supported by Iraqi Ba’ath Regime.
After the fall of Saddam Hussein, many MEK members managed to flee from Ashraf and reported lots of atrocities against the members including physical and mental pressure, solitary confinement, torture, and even execution. Those who tried to escape ended up in Abu-Ghraib prison.
According to the cultic rules and regulations of the MEK, the followings are forbidden inside the cult and the wrongdoers are liable for punishment.

– Marriage and forming a family,
– Trying to leave the cult,
– Criticizing the leader and the cult,
– Contacting the outside world particularity family and friends,
– Having private thoughts and belongings

The MEK moved to Albania in 2016 and they established the same remote and closed camp in Manëz in the province of Durrës, also isolated from the outside world with the same Cultic rules and regulations.
The MEK members are suffering from modern slavery. They have no way out and they have been subject to mind manipulation and brain washing for decades away from society and their families.
The families of these members expect you as a UN official to intervene into the matter via the Albanian government to arrange for the families to have access to their loved ones inside the camp in order to be in touch with them. Some of these families have had no contact with their relatives for decades.
I am anxiously looking forward to hearing from you
Regards
Ebrahim Khodabandeh, CEO of the Nejat Society

To the honorable statesmen of the Republic of Albania and to whomsoever it may concern in Albania

I am Ebrahim Khodabandeh, the CEO of the Nejat Society in Iran. Nejat Society belongs to families whose loved ones are trapped in the isolated and remote camp of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization in Albania, and for decades they have not been able to have any contact with them. I do not have any government position and the activity of the Nejat Society is only humanitarian and in line with fulfilling the wishes of the families and is not related to the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In the many meetings that I have had with these families in different cities of Iran, questions have been raised by them that are related to the issue of “Albanian national sovereignty”. Below, I am addressing these questions to the honorable statesmen of the Republic of Albania, so that maybe if it is considered appropriate, I will receive an answer from whoever is concerned.

The MEK was brought to Iraq from France during the rule of Saddam Hussein to be used during the war with Iran. The active cooperation of this organization with the enemy invading the country, against the border guards and defenders of the homeland, caused this organization to be highly hated among the people of Iran, and even among the hardest opponents of the Islamic Republic.

When Saddam Hussein was overthrown in Iraq, the presence of the MEK in that country became a threat to national security. Iraqi governments one after another wanted this organization to leave Iraq, but the MEK resisted, until in 2016, they settled in Albania, with the same cultic form, in an isolated and remote camp.

The claim of the Albanian government is that this organization was accepted in the territory of Albania for humanitarian reasons and was prohibited from any political and propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Based on the testimony of many people who left this group and now live inside and outside of Albania, as well as based on the propaganda media of the MEK, during these years, this organization has been systematically engaged in the following matters from the territory of Albania and from its headquarters:

– Violation of the most basic human rights of the members inside the camp, especially banning contact with family, and depriving them of any freedom and authority

– Cyber activities against the mental security of the Iranian people from inside the camp using the facilities of the Albanian internet services with thousands of fake accounts and also hacking the internal systems of Iran.

– Directing the so-called rebel centers inside the country from inside the camp, in the so-called internal headquarters, for harmful and terrorist actions and financing them.

Now, the main question is, does the Albanian government have enough knowledge of the actions of this group in their camp and its internet activities from Albanian soil? Definitely, the security system of Albania has monitored the media of this organization and talked to its former members many times and is aware of the nature of the matter. Does the Albanian government not consider it necessary to have more control over the activities of this group inside the camp?

The families ask whether measures such as the following have been taken with the initiative of the Albanian government and security system, or have the requests of the MEK been met?

– Imprisonment of Mr. Ehsan Bidi in the Karrec camp for two and a half years without presenting any charges, and once his illegal deportation to Greece and then his illegal deportation to Iran against all standards of refugee rights, so that now he is in custody and is awaiting trial in Iran

– Undeserved search of the building of the Association for the Support of Iranians Living in Albania (ASILA) and the houses of its members and confiscating their money and devices and a one-day interrogation of them, which did not find any illegal cases, and subsequently, a propaganda controversy against ASILA in the media.

– Preventing the entry of two German citizens of Iranian origin who were invited to participate in the wedding party of Mr. Gholamreza Shekari without providing any reason

– Preventing the visit of the Canadian family as well as the Swedish family and other families to visit their loved ones in the MEK camp in Albania and misbehaving with them, including threats and confiscation of phones.

– The illegal deportation of Mr. Hasan Heirani, who has an Albanian wife, to Greece, against all standards of refugee rights, after being imprisoned for several months in Karrec without being charged, and his wife being impeached when leaving the border to Greece.
– The illegal deportation of Mr. Gholamreza Shekari, who has an Albanian wife, to Greece, against all standards of refugee rights, after being imprisoned for several months in Karrec without being charged, he was beaten by the Greek police and returned to Albania, who is still locked up in Karrec for no reason.

– Imprisonment of Mr. Ali Hajari, whose child was recently born (he was of course released lately), Mehdi Soleimani, who has an Albanian wife, and Hassan Shahbaz, for more than six months in the Karrec camp, without their crimes being determined and in pure uncertainty.

All these cases and other cases, from the point of view of the families, have only provided the wishes of the Rajavi terrorist cult. While the members of the MEK freely leave and return to Albania in large numbers, the members of ASILA do not even have an identity card and are not allowed to open a bank account or get a work permit, and they have not been given travel documents, which at least if their families are not allow to enter Albania and visit, they can visit their families in a third country.

Has the Albanian government lost its right to national sovereignty against the MEK and Maryam Rajavi? Has a government been formed within the government just like the rule of Saddam Hussein in Iraq? Is the Albanian government, for the wish of the MEK, refusing from issuing visas to Iranians, especially families? Has the Albanian government thought about the consequences of this, which is, leaving the hands of the MEK open for any illegal action and yielding to its demands, which can become a threat to national security in Europe?

Recently, I wrote a message addressed to the Albanian statesmen and I mentioned some points that I am attaching a copy of it to this one. I have nothing to do with political issues and the problems of relations between Iran and Albania. I am speaking on behalf of families, whose most basic human rights, the right to communicate with their loved ones, have been violated. Since the MEK is based in Albania, the Albanian government is and will be responsible for all the behavior and performance of this organization.

The CEO of Najat Society sent a letter to the French ambassador in Iran regarding the annual gathering of the Rajavi Cult in Paris, the text of which is as follows:

To: His Excellency Nicolas Roche
Honorable Ambassador of the Republic of France in Tehran
From: Ebrahim Khodabandeh
CEO of Nejat Society in Iran

Greetings and Respect
The Nejat Society in Iran consists of the families of the members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO), who are currently living in the closed and remote camp of the organization in Albania, in complete isolation from the outside world. A number of former members of the MEK are also in this society helping families to achieve their indisputable human right, which is to communicate with their loved ones trapped in the camp of the MEK in Albania. In order to prevent Western countries from supporting this organization, this Society tries to reveal the anti-human and cultic nature of the MEK to the world. This organization violates the most basic human rights of its members and prevents them from communicating freely with the outside world, especially with friends and family.

After the decision of the respected French government to expel Maryam Rajavi and the MEK from France, hope was formed in the families that the French government is on the path of protecting national security and preventing deep and unique political and social and security damages from the MEK and has stopped supporting this terrorist cult, and therefore the dominance of this organization over its members and the violation of their rights by relying on the support of Western countries will be reduced.

But the families, to their surprise, learned that the French government once again issued a permit for the gathering of the MEK in Paris with Maryam Rajavi’s speech, and in this way, it intends to repeat its past mistakes and once again support this organization to violate the human rights of its members, who are really the main victims of this terrorist cult. In this way, the French government supports an organization that, while deceiving and kidnapping the loved ones of families and keeping them captive, does not give them any human rights and keeps them in the worst conditions. This action of the French government is in conflict with all international norms and standards of human rights, which has become the defender of an organization that has launched slavery in Europe in the 21st century. This action has no relevance to the human rights claims of the French government and its people.
In addition, the support of the French government to a terrorist cult increases the possibility of national security consequences for France, as well as undoubtedly a dark page in the political and social history of this country in the field of defending human rights and countering terrorism. The long years of experience of the families of members trapped in the Rajavi Cult indicate that holding such programs by the MEK will directly or indirectly threaten the lives and health of the loved ones of the families in a significant way.

The Nejat Society represents more than two thousand people from the families of those trapped in the isolated camp of the MEK in Albania, in addition to more than three thousand individuals who managed to escape from the organization (more than seven hundreds of them live freely inside Iran now), demanding the non-cooperation and support of the French government to the anti-human and terrorist cult of the MEK, such as refusing to issue a license to hold ceremonies and preventing the possible presence of senior officials of the said organization, especially Maryam Rajavi, in France.

In the end, in order to recall the honorable ambassador of the French government in Iran, it should be mentioned that the publication of the initial news about the gathering of the MEK in France created a wave of dissatisfaction and deep concern (caused by the repetition of past events) among the painful families of Nejat Society. Therefore, it is hoped that your clear and supportive response to the families will help greatly in alleviating their pain and managing this issue as best as possible.
Sincerely
Ebrahim Khodabandeh
CEO of Najat Society

The CEO of Nejat Society, Ebrahim Khodabandeh, sent a message to the respected Albanian statesmen and made it available to the Albanian authorities and media through the Association for the Support of Iranians Living in Albania (ASILA), for information and possibly appropriate measures. The text of the letter is as follows:

Respected Statesmen of Albania
Since 2016, the honorable government of the Republic of Albania has hosted the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO), apparently for humanitarian reasons. According to the agreement that has been announced many times by Albanian statesmen, including Prime Minister His Excellency Edwin Rama in his recent interview with the New York Times newspaper, the condition for accepting this group in Albania is the absence of any political and propaganda activities towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to what was directly and publicly announced by the MEK media and recorded by Nejat Society, during the year 1401 AH (March 21, 2022 to March 20, 2023), this organization carried out a total of 3,742 actions inside Iran, promoted, organized, directed, and reported from the territory of Albania. These measures include the following:
2734 propaganda and political actions including wall painting, installation of photos and banners, sound broadcasting
936 acts of violence, including setting fire to private and public property, throwing hand-made grenades
68 explosions and bombings, including throwing homemade mortars
4 armed action using firearms

According to the numerous reports form MEK members in Albania, a part of the Organization is active titled Interior Headquarters under the charge of Sediqeh Hosseini. The members of this headquarters are active in relation to what are called the members of the rebel centers inside the country and provide them with financial and logistical support. The members of these rebel centers are socially damaged people, who are unaware of the history of this group, and therefore the MEK has provoked them with deception and trickery, considering the economic conditions in Iran, and they are pushes moving towards harmful and operational activities.

On May 7, 2023, the media of the MEK announced the hacking of the online systems of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran with its sign and logo, and while accepting responsibility for this action from the territory of Albania, it published in the media the documents obtained.

The hacktivist group ‘Uprising till Overthrow’, affiliated with the Albania-based opposition Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK) group, released hundreds of identification documents, minutes of meetings, the ministry’s correspondence, phone numbers of ministry officials, and the names of 11,000 employees of the foreign ministry, among others.

Also, during this period, political measures against the Islamic Republic have been carried out in the isolated and remote headquarters of this organization in Albania, including numerous meetings with Albanian and non-Albanian officials, and active communication with Albanian authorities from the mayor of Durres and members of the Albanian Parliament to the media and various international organizations have been in progress.

It can be boldly said that the hands of the MEK now in Albania is far more open than it was in Iraq during the war with Iran under the rule of Saddam Hussein, and it can be clearly seen that the Albanian government has taken a step beyond Saddam Hussein in supporting this terrorist organization.
Iranians have a proverb that says: If a stone is thrown from your yard to the neighbor’s yard, there can be an expectation that a stone will be thrown from the neighbor’s yard to your yard. Apparently, according to the available evidence, the Albanian authorities feel that their country is immune from any foreign threats, thinking that they are a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and under the protection of the United States.

The authorities of each country know their own best. But one of the consequences of such events usually affects the Iranian refugees inside Albania, that is, those who did not want to be with the MEK anymore. My concern as the representative of the families of the members trapped in the MEK camp and the supporter of the former members of this organization in Albania is that later, according to the current method of these years, whatever happens, the Albanian authorities will retaliate against a number of Iranian refugees, who were expelled from their country for any reason, right or wrong, and were deceived by the MEK and brought to Albania unwillingly.

It is worth mentioning that the annual meeting of the MEK will be held in the headquarters of Albania and a video link will be established with a similar meeting in Paris, and Maryam Rajavi will give a speech and threaten the Islamic Republic according to the current method of previous years. The MEK has invited many Albanian personalities, including MPs and political figures, to participate in this meeting. This action will definitely be considered as a hostile gesture from within the territory of Albania against the Islamic Republic, considering the clear violation of the Prime Minister’s words.

Also, just for giving information, the MEK has established a large number of bunkers and shelters inside its headquarters. The reason is that this organization takes retaliatory measures more seriously than the Albanian authorities and prepares itself in advance. The MEK is trying to bring Albania into a war with the Islamic Republic, while the two countries did not have the slightest problem with each other before the presence and activities of the MEK in Albania.

On behalf of the families of the members of the MEK and on behalf of the former members of this organization in Albania and abroad, I request that the Albanian statesmen and security bodies do not vent their grudge against the refugees who are in short supply everywhere. And don’t cause them more trouble and allow them to have a peaceful and comfortable life after years of trouble in the Rajavi Cult.
