A few days ago, the editorial staff of JOQ Albania published the concern of a mother, who told of an unusual incident: a woman wearing a headscarf had approached her child and, as soon as she noticed the presence of the parent, had covered her face. This action raised suspicions and concerns about the reasons for the approach.

JOQ asserts that after the publication of the earlier report, the case did not remain isolated. The editorial staff received dozens of other complaints from various citizens, who report similar situations and express uncertainty about what is happening in different areas.

Only after these reactions and repeated calls to institutions, including the Director of the Police, Skënder Hita, has an official reaction come from the State Police.

In the press release, the police have clarified that these are women who belong to a group known as the Iranian Mujahedeen [Mujahedin-e Khalq/ MEK], who are located in the Manëz area, and that, according to the authorities, they do not pose a danger or bad intentions towards the children.

However, despite this “reassuring” clarification, it seems that some citizens remain skeptical. Complaints and reports continue to arrive, showing that concerns have not been completely eliminated and that trust in official statements remains fragile. The situation once again raises the need for greater transparency and clear communication from institutions, in order to avoid misunderstandings and restore a sense of security among citizens.

An American historian wrote about the possibility of Reza Pahlavi’s assassination by the MEK. Michael Rubin, an American historian and Middle East analyst who is an opponent of the Iranian government, warned American leaders in an analysis of the first weeks of the Israeli-American war against Iran that the MEK organization is not only not pro-Western and committed to democracy, but is also a violent cult that may attempt to assassinate Reza Pahlavi in order to gain power in Iran.

The high-ranking official from the American Enterprise Institute, in an Op-Ed on Middle East Forum warned for the umpteenth time about the MEK’s psychological operations among European and American politicians. He recalled that in the early years of the Islamic Republic’s government, the MEK opposed Ayatollah Khomeini not because they had a problem with his ideology, but because they wanted a share in power and did not achieve it.

Explaining the current MEK operation in the West, Rubin writes:

“In the United States and Europe, the MEK engages in a psychological operation to suggest they are pro-Western or committed to democracy. That is nonsense. They operate as a cult, isolate their members, and foster anti-Americanism. They have become North Korea, only with more food and slicker public relations. Many of the MEK’s claims of infiltrating Iran or running operations inside the country are demonstrably untrue. Former officials who support them do so not because of ideological fealty, but rather because of lucrative honoraria.”

This American historian writes of Maryam Rajavi’s current frustration, and that during and after the protests, the Iranian people ignored or cursed the MEK, and despite the organization’s grandiose statements and claims of public support, the MEK is known among Iranians as nothing more than a group of frauds.

He refers to Maryam Rajavi’s announcement of a “provisional government” and considers it “little more than play-acting.” According to him, no American official—even those to whom the MEK and its proxy organizations have given hundreds of thousands of dollars in financial assistance—takes the potential MEK government seriously.

This political commentator, opposed to the Iranian government, criticizes Rajavi for the strict hijab he imposes on the group’s women and speaks of Rajavi’s hostility to Pahlavi. According to Rubin, “the most important thing for Rajavi is power,” and in order to achieve power in Iran, he is likely to launch “potential assassination campaigns”. This organization has already killed a large number of Iranian citizens and officials.

The author of the article calls on Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, to immediately re-designate the MEK as a terrorist organization on the list of foreign terrorist groups, so that the group’s infrastructure and members can gather on US soil and then pressure European countries to do the same with Rajavi and his inner circle.

Zahra Sharifi, the grieving sister of two victims of Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), complains to the leaders of the group narrating the tragic story of her two brothers, Hassan and Esmail who were caught in the trap of MEK
The Sharifi family is one of the families that fell victim to Rajavi’s ambitions and received a fatal blow from the MEK’s destructive cult-like system.

Hassan and Ismail Sharifi, normal men at a young age, while they were married in prosperity and comfort and lived with their wives, parents and their only sister, in 1997, they set out to emigrate to Europe with the aim of doing business and earning a higher income. They did not know that all their wealth, youth and mental and physical would be lost in that path.

Zahra Sharifi – sister of two MEK victims

These two brothers, like thousands of other innocent youths, were caught in the trap of the MEK recruiters in western countries. One after 4 years and the other after 6 years, returned home, but they were left by the MEK with a devastated and injured soul and body! When Hassan returned in 2003, all his body has been burned. There were several scars left by the MEK torturers.

During his sons’ absence, the father of the family had passed away. The mother and the sister were still waiting for their loved ones. The Cult of Rajavi kicked out Hassan who now suffered mental problems. He was taken to the border of Iran and Iraq and left there by the MEK agents. With the help of the border guards, Hassan reached his city in Gilan, northern Iran.

He managed to find his home and join his family. The cult-like pressures and vicious ruling of the MEK had made him crazy. He did not turn normal anymore and finally his family had to admit that he should be hospitalized in the psychiatric ward.
Two years later, Esmail was left by the MEK at the border in the same way and returned home. The pressures by the Cult of Rajavi had pushed him to the point of extreme depression. His family supported him to find a job and make money, but finally he couldn’t bear it and committed suicide.

Zahra Sharifi, their only sister, who bears the heavy sorrow of the tragedy of her two brothers, chokes up while recounting. She says, “I am complaining with all my might against Rajavi and I will stand until the end because my two brothers and my family are victims of Rajavi and we are still suffering. We are still paying the price.”

The agents of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) are once more running scam charities under the cover of raising funds for what they call “victims of Iranian regime”. This is part of the MEK’s network of fake charities based in European countries. “Inspired Charity” is the name of the MEK-run fake charity which is collecting donations in the streets of London and Manchester, these days.

According to a report by the Associated Press, over the years, the MEK has been targeted in a series of investigations around the world for running charity scams. MEK’s fake charity scams prey on people’s goodwill and generosity. They pretend to be representatives of a legitimate Iranian group but they are actually a terrorist cult loathed by the Iranians.
Ray Torabi, former child soldier of the MEK has published a film and some photos of the MEK’s alleged charity campaign in London in order to warn British citizens about the threat of the MEK fraud:

British people be aware!

Recently such stands have been popping up all over London and Manchester and perhaps other cities, where Iranians from a so-called “Inspired Charity” organization are collecting signatures and DONATIONS for victims of the Islamic regime in Iran and the promotion of human rights. HOWEVER, they are a fraud and actually members of an extremist Islamic cult called the Mujahedin-e Khalgh (MEK). They portray themselves as moderate but only do so to lure you into making a donation. They use the pictures and names of victims of the Islamic regime in Iran such as #mahsa_amini but in reality are hated by the families of these victims. The MEK is loathed by the Iranian people and are known to have committed a wide range of atrocities against their own people and even members. My father, who was a MEK member was tortured and killed by the cult. I myself, along with hundreds of other teens, was recruited as a child soldier by them in the late 90s. My mother and many other members of my family are currently trapped in the cult’s camp where they have been brainwashed and completely disconnected from the outside world and have cut all ties with me. As a teen, I took part in such charity schemes of the MEK in Canada and the US and I speak based on personal experience. I was a member of the cult for 18 years and managed to escape 7 years ago.

Please know and understand that your money will not only not go to victims of the Islamic regime in Iran and for fighting extremism, but it will actually fund an extremist Islamic cult bent on establishing their own fanatic idea of Islam in Iran and one that brainwashes and violated the most basic human rights of its own members on a daily basis.
In February 2017, Jon Gambrell of the Associated Press reported that an FBI probe found MEK members hustled travelers arriving to Los Angeles International Airport, asking them to donate after showing them binders of photographs of disaster or torture victims. The money instead went to banks in Belgium, France, Jordan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates to “support MEK operations and activities, including terrorist activities,” a 2007 indictment against seven members said.
The report also revealed facts about an MEK scam charity in Britain, called “Aid Association”. According to that, in 2001, in Britain, authorities dissolved a charity associated with the MEK that had made an estimated 5 million pounds a year. Its investigation found some donors “were misled into believing they were personally sponsoring individual children when this was not in fact the case.”

The donated money finally went to the headquarters of the group where Maryam Rajavi is based. In the 2003 raids in France, police found $1.3 million, mostly in $100 bills, at MEK-affiliated properties, reported the Associated Press.

Ray Torabi posted a photo of the alleged donation form that is supposed to be signed by donators. According to the form, donators pay the so-called Inspired charity to save the lives of victims in Iran. Torabi asks the families of the alleged victims a crucial question:
“Have you ever received financial aid from the Mujahedin? If not, then don’t let them take advantage of your pain and suffering. This fraud of the MEK must be exposed and scandalized.”

Last week, some former child soldiers of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) spoke about their nightmares, which still torment them years after leaving the group. The pain that seems to be common to all the traumatized children of the MEK. Some have been able to recover from these sufferings, and some still have nightmares or at least remember them.
Mohammad Reza Torabi, a former child soldier of the MEK, shared this on his X account on August 14, 2024:
“I used to have nightmares of Mujahidin two or three nights a week. Of course, not only me, but all the children who escaped from this cult have these dreams. All our dreams are similar. I open my eyes and with the mentality I have now, I am again in the Mujahidin. I tell myself no! It is not possible, I ran away and I was outside, how did I come back to this hell again? I try to escape and get out and find a way out, but the Mujahedin and Rajavi officials don’t let me stand in front of them. They tell me that it is here and there is no way out. I wake up and my heart is pounding on my chest and I am afraid. Then I slowly come to my senses and realize that it was just a dream.”

Definition and causes of nightmare

Nightmares, like dreams, are the product of our brains, and their terrifying vision originates from inside us. Nightmares should not be confused with bad or unpleasant drteams. Nightmares are actually long, vivid and frightening dreams that usually threaten our survival, physical integrity, safety or self-esteem and fill us with fear. They can also cause intense feelings of fear, anger, sadness, confusion, and even disgust.
Some researchers call nightmares “repetition of threats”. The meaning of this term is that most people repeat the threats they have faced in real life in their nightmares. This is why most people remember the images and content of their dreams well when they wake up from nightmares. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM; latest edition: DSM-5-TR, published in March 2022), the causes of nightmares are as follows:
– Anxiety and stress
– Trauma (physical or mental impact) or distressing events such as the death of a loved one
-Disordered sleep, lack of sleep, fatigue from long-term air flights, illness and fever
– Side effects of a specific drug or treatment
– Medicines or drug withdrawal such as sleeping pills
– Drinking or quitting alcohol
– Breathing disorders during sleep such as sleep apnea
-Sleep disorders such as narcolepsy or sleep anxiety disorder
-Eating shortly before bedtime

The causes of nightmares of the MEK child soldiers

According to the large number of memories, documents and evidence about the prevailing atmosphere within the Cult of Rajavi, it seems that at least the first three are the most true causes of nightmares regarding the child soldiers of the MEK. Of course, as he says, Mohammadreza has gotten rid of this suffering due to the beautiful life he has built for himself outside the cult. He attributes the end of his nightmares to the birth of his young son Ryan:

“But since Ryan Azadi was born, those nightmares have ended. I don’t know what the mechanism is, but what a blessing. These days, I am very proud of myself for having the courage to escape from that hell. Life is beautiful.”
But another child soldier of the MEK, who is active on the X social network with the username Aylin Moghadam, said in the comments to Mohammad Reza’s post about his endless recurring nightmares:

“I also have nightmares almost every night, they hold meetings for me, previously by Masoud Rajavi, now Maryam Rajavi has entered the scene, with her scary face looking at me with anger, and in my dream, I say ‘why am I here while I had gone out, how did I come back?’ and I scream asking for help Everywhere I go there is barbed wire…
“Another recurring nightmare of mine is that they forcefully tell me to get on a tank and fight. In my dream, I say that I don’t want to fight anymore. I’m tired. I don’t want to ride an armored car. They say that no one asked you if you want to get on and… I wake up crying again.

“In my dream, I don’t have anything, they have thrown away all my things, they force me to wear boots and tell me that you have to clean this whole desert of grass and… they regularly hold meetings for me and yell at me, I wake up with tears still on my face and after that most of the time I can’t sleep anymore I don’t know how long I’m going to have nightmares.”
Even reading Aylin’s nightmares is heart-breaking, let alone knowing that Aylin and people like him and Mohammad Reza experienced these fears in the MEK camps. Being isolated in the deserts of Iraq, participating in self-criticism and inquisition meetings for long hours, forced participation in military operations and conflicts, are all real and tangible experiences for the child soldiers of the MEK.

Aylin, who doesn’t want his real identity to be revealed and seems to be still trapped in the atmosphere of terror created by the MEK leaders, has a lot to say, but he avoids revealing:
“Unfortunately, I avoid saying many things for some reasons, because the MEK agents are very much looking for who I am, and I want them to fail.”

Only from the content of his nightmares one can understand what fear and anxiety, trauma, sleep disorder and excessive fatigue caused by the MEK system have done to the soul and spirit of this former child soldier.

Is there a remedy for the suffering of the children of the MEK?

Although Azadeh Masoum has left the MEK some years ago, got married and become a mother, the birth of her child has not stopped her from having nightmares, but her deep motherly love and concern for her daughter has affected her nightmares as well. She writes to Mohammad Reza in comments:
“Unfortunately, I still see them, I even dreamed once that my daughter was with me and she was taken from me and given to another sister in an “organizational ranking change”. I was going crazy, when I woke up, I felt very bad.”

A few days later, impressed by the traumatic experiences of the MEK child soldiers, the author came across a post on the Facebook account of Atefeh Sabdani. Although Sabdani has no experience as a child soldier, she has experienced terrible traumas as a child of the MEK. She is now a 38-year-old mother of three children. The experience of a bad dream that her five-year-old daughter had the night before prompted her to write about it on August 16th, 2024.

The scream of the little girl woke her up and she rushed to her room to comfort her. She hugged her and soothed her by saying, “mommy is here”. The child calmed down, but Atefeh was thrown to her childhood, orphaned by the MEK, separated from her mom, left with feelings of helplessness and lack of security, and the experience of sexual assault by her foster father, who was a supporter of the MEK, and he had taken Atefeh and her two brothers and two other children under his custody in order to receive the social aids that the Swedish government pays children.

It is in the midst of night and Atefeh Sabdani, a successful Swedish citizen, influencer and author of a best-selling autobiography, is suffering from anxiety and shortness of breath from recalling bitter childhood memories. She had nightmares from the age of 5 to the age of 10 and 15 with no one to soothe her, she is still not completely healed from her traumas. She writes about this:

“Although I am actually 38 years old. And no matter how much I have walked through the path of healing and distanced myself more and more from my past, it still sneaks up on me. At night, as if to remind me of who I am and where I came from. Don’t forget. My five-year-old daughter sleeps peacefully. Now, I have to comfort myself.”

His Excellency Ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel
Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany
Tehran Iran

Your Excellency
Greetings and Regards

On behalf of the Nejat Society in Iran, I would like to draw your attention to an important issue regarding the annual meeting of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO) in Berlin in June 2024.
Nejat Society represents the families of members of the MEK who are trapped in a remote and isolated camp in Albania. The MEK does not allow its members to communicate with the outside world, especially with family and friends.
According to people who managed to escape from this camp, the most basic human rights of the members are violated and the European Convention on Human Rights is systematically violated in the MEK camp in Albania.
You may know that on June 20, 2023, the Albanian police tried to search the MEK camp in Albania with a court order. Members of the MEK were ordered by the leaders to violently resist the legal actions of the police and were ordered not to allow the police to take away the computers and servers undamaged.
The result was that a large number of people were injured on both sides, and one member of the MEK who had a fake identity died of a heart attack (Abdul-Wahab Faraji-Nezhad, known as Commander Afshin, with fake identity documents under the name of Ali Mostashari). The MEK falsely claimed that the Albanian government did this with the cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This is despite the fact that this organization has used the hospitality and facilities of Albania for 7 years and has systematically targeted the physical and psychological security of its trapped members and their waiting families from Albania. Similar cases have happened in the past in Iraq, US, UK, France and Germany. They have always created problems for the host countries.
You should also know that this terrorist cult is not allowed to hold its annual meeting in France, which it used to perform every year, and Albania, where it has a large presence, and other countries also prevent the entry of Maryam Rajavi, the leader of this cult after Massoud Rajavi.
Giving the leaders of this destructive cult the opportunity to hold a deceitful conference does not send a message of friendship to the families of the captive members. In fact, the message received is that the German government supports the criminal leaders of a terrorist group. This group has imposed forced celibacy, female vasectomy, forced labor, and other violations of the most basic human rights on its members.
It is surprising for the painful and suffering families that the German government allows a terrorist cult that does not show mercy even to its own members to hold a conference and rally. The MEK is a group that, due to the violation of human rights of its members and terrorist and cultic activities, is rejected even among other opposition groups of the Islamic Republic.
We call on the German government to reconsider its decision and instead question the leaders of this organization as to why the most basic human rights of its members are violated in a remote and isolated camp with no external control over it.
With respect
Ebrahim Khodabandeh

“The children from Camp Ashraf” is a documentary about four people of Iranian origin who were sent to Sweden as children in the 90s. Their families belonged to the militant, religious and Iranian resistance movement Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), which is politically far left and has been described as sectarian. Until 2009, the group was labeled as terrorist by the EU.
Camp Ashraf, mentioned in the film’s title, was a military camp in the desert of Iraq. The film depicts how the children lived and grew up there, until the camp was bombed and 1,000 minors were displaced. The parents remained in the military camp to continue fighting, while the children in the film were placed with mujahedin members in Sweden. One of the participants later returned as a child soldier to Camp Ashraf.

“I thought the story was very interesting. It is about the children of former young idealists who create a resistance movement out of fighting spirit, but end up sacrificing their own children for a top-run and sectarian organization. Ultimately, the kids want answers, but they’ll never get them because the parents are locked up in a military base”, says Sara Moein, the film’s director.

In connection with the documentary “The Children from Camp Ashraf” shown during the Gothenburg Film Festival in January, members of MEK held a demonstration at Götaplatsen where they protested the film. In a speech, it was claimed that it is the Iranian regime had produced the film with the aim of harming the movement.

“It was strange to see people demonstrating against a film they had never seen,” says Sara Moein. “This was the first time the film was shown, no one outside the film crew had seen it. But I was prepared for this to happen, because this is how the mujahedin react to all scrutiny.”

Gothenburg’s film festival brought in security guards who were on site during the screenings. According to Mirja Wester, CEO of the Gothenburg Film Festival, the festival had a dialogue with the filmmakers before the premiere to increase security:

“In consultation with them, we decided to have increased staffing at the screenings in case something should arise that would be inconvenient for them. We had security guards because we didn’t know if anyone wanted to interrupt the performances.”
According to Mirja Wester, it was still relatively calm during the four screenings of the film during the festival.
– Our report from the security guard was that it was not a particularly threatening position, but rather expressions of opinion from the stands after one of the screenings. It may happen that the filmmakers have a different picture of what they experienced afterwards.

A video recording shows people who claim to be connected to the MEK acting aggressively and loudly in the movie theater after one of the screenings in Gothenburg. They scream that the film is full of “lies”.

Sara Moein has directed the film “The Children of Camp Ashraf”, which caused reactions.
Photo: Håkan Elofsson

“It is not a story where words stand against words. That they used child soldiers is proven, and they are still violating international laws by doing so. There is also much evidence that hundreds of children have been placed in foster care on false grounds,” says Sara Moein.

She describes the life depicted in the film as “a piece of migration history”:
“They are perhaps the first wave of Swedish child soldiers who go abroad and it is a contemporary, unspoken, big Swedish scandal.”

Gothenburg’s film festival has had talks with Tempo documentary film festival ahead of the screenings in Stockholm. Ida Thorén, festival director of Tempo, says they have increased security for the next two screenings, with extra staff on site:
“We have planned it more carefully and it is well thought out. But we have not received any particular indications that it would be needed. But the documentary engages and there will be a lot of people there, so we want to be well prepared,” she says.

Ida Thorén also mentions that Tempo has received emails from people who want to share their experiences because of the film’s theme, but that everything was done in a pleasant tone.

Sara Moein, who worked on the film for seven years, says she is looking forward to showing “The Children from Camp Ashraf” in Stockholm:
“The festivals have both done a good job. It takes a lot of work and energy to talk about security, but Tempo has taken security measures. I feel quite safe. Tempo does not waver in any way, the film is allowed to be shown and given the space it deserves.”

“The Children of Camp Ashraf”

Will be Screened at Tempo Documentary Film Festival on Wednesday and Thursday.
Directed by Sara Moein, produced by Linda Mutawi. Executive producers: Gellert Tamas, Kristina Åberg, Tarik Saleh.
Depicts the lives of four people. The common denominator is that they came to Sweden as unaccompanied refugees during the 90s and that their families belonged to the Iranian political resistance movement People’s Mujahedin.

Two of the participants in the film are the politician Hanif Bali and the writer and activist Atefeh Sebdani.
The film is nominated for the Tempo documentary prize.

Following the premiere of the documentary, “The Children of Camp Ashraf”, Atefeh Sebdani, wrote about her feelings on her Likedin account. Sebdani is one of the four children of Mujahed parents whose life story is documented by the director, Sara Moien.

Atefeh has recently debuted with the gripping autobiography My Hand in Mine. It is a story about growing up with no one to hold on to but yourself, of abuses that are skillfully covered up by the Mujahedin-Khalq (MEK) and a society that fails to see the vulnerable child.

Read her post on Linkedin after Sara Moien’s film was finally played in the Swedish Goteborg Festival:
They say you should face your fears. I don’t know how many times I’ve done it in my life, or how many more times I’ll have to do it.

It was a full circle when the world premiere of our documentary happened to be in my hometown.
It feels strange that years of recording and hard work from the production have now led to this. That the world will know more about this fanatical, terrible cult. That I kept this project a secret for so long and now can finally talk about it!

The cult did everything in its power to stop the film, harass the festival and production, and smear us protagonists. They have put out terrible press releases about us and their fear is seeping through.

I’ve felt every emotion imaginable this week. Fear, sadness, shock, joy, euphoria. It’s been overwhelming.
But what an important and beautiful documentary film. Sold out every day and a historical chapter. Don’t miss it when more chances come next, keep your eyes open and please support us.

This is what I wrote on my Instagram the day before the premiere:
Will I feel scared tomorrow?

I wanted to lie and say no to you, that I am now invincible. For, I am not alone. For, history is carried by more people now.
But I will be in the same city where those who hate me the most are, the cult member I grew up with. I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t care.

They say you should face your fears. I don’t know how many times I’ve done it in my life, or how many more times I’ll have to do it.
One thing at a time. Tomorrow, is a day to remember, a day to celebrate.

Many thanks to SVT Sara Moein Parwin Hoseinia Amir Vafa Linda Mutawi Hanif Bali Nima Sarvestani Iraj Mesdaghi Max Sebdani Jacobson Tell Aulin and so many more.

Hanif Heidarnejad, former member of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) has focused on the cases of children of the group who were smuggled to Europe and North America under the order of the group’s leader Massoud Rajavi.

Atefeh Sebdani is one of those children who published her autobiography a few months ago. The book was welcome among Swedish public opinion. As a journalist, Heidarnejad has published a review on the book raising the case of children who were systematically abused in the Rajavi’s ruling system as a legal case in Sweden and Germany:

The painful experience of Atefeh Sebdani and many other children who were separated from their families by the MEK teaches us that non-democratic forces, including the People’s Mojahedin Organization, do not have the authority to be among the Iranian opposition forces. First of all, this organization should be held accountable in a fair court and before the eyes of public opinion due to policies that violate human rights in its organization or due to character assassination and pressure on defectors and opponents.

At the end of 1991 the MEK separated hundreds of children, who lived in the camps and bases of the group in Iraq, from their parents and sent them from Iraq to different countries in Europe and North America . The number of these children is between 700 and 900. In this way, the MEK leaders deprived children of their parents and destroyed the foundation of family. The MEK has never published any report about the fate of these children, and there is no information about the condition of many of them.

More than 120 of those children were sent to Sweden. Atefeh was five years old at that time, and along with her two younger brothers, she was one of the children who left Sweden. In the past 30 years, she carried the pain and emotional wounds caused by separation from her parents. Sometimes, these pains during teenage years and the beginning of her youth pushed her to thinking of suicide. She could not find answers to any of her questions, she could not trust anyone, and life had no meaning and purpose for her. Despite all the difficulties, Atefeh started a family, became a mother and succeeded in family, work and social life.

When Atefeh and her two younger brothers were separated from their parents, she was five years old. The brothers, one was three years old and the other was still an infant. The children smuggled from Iraq to Western countries included the following age groups (age calculated based on the year of birth and not based on the month and day of birth): 17 years old: 3 people, 16 years old: 15 people, 15 years old: 17 people, 14-year-old: 16 people, 13-year-old: 22 people, 12-year-old: 31 people, 11-year-old: 59 people, 10-year-old: 67 people, 9-year-old: 102 people, 8-year-old: 96 people, 7-year-old: 98 people, 6-year-old: 90 people, 5 years old 51 people, 4 years old: 55 people, 3 years old: 50 people, 2 years old: 23 people, 1 year old: 33 people, under one year old 20 people, unknown 22 people.

In her own experience, Atefeh Sebdani talks about herself, her two brothers and two other children who had been fostered by an Iranian family who were sympathizers of the MEK. She explains that this family received huge monthly payments in the name of these children and went on luxurious trips with the money, but these children had the least facilities and were not taken to trips. The example of Atefeh Sebdani, along with the example of Amin Gol Maryami in Cologne, Germany, shows that the MEK has been purposefully defrauding government offices for many years in two countries, namely in Sweden and in Germany. In the name of children, the group has deceived the authorities and pocketed the taxpayers’ money under the cover of taking care of children.

In her interview with Farah Shilandri, Atefeh Sebdani explains that not only her, but many other separated children who were raised by the MEK or their supporters, were subjected to physical violence or even rape by their guardians. Some of those children suffered dreadful fates such as addiction, attempted suicide, and prostitution. They suffer from pressure and constant mental-psychological discomfort for their whole lives.
The public prosecutor’s offices of Stockholm and Cologne should take action and try the leaders of the MEK before the court by referring to several cases that show the systematic crime committed by the group against children in this organization for the following reasons: Violating the rights of children and separating them from their families, violating the laws of illegal entry and exit to countries, illegally keeping children in the hands of unauthorized persons, physical and sexual violence against these children. In cases where they were aware of it, making money through defrauding government offices in the name of children, illegally sending some of these children from their countries of residence in European or North American countries to Iraq, and recruiting children as child soldiers, which in some cases lead to their death. If the prosecutors of these cities are aware of these cases, why have not taken action yet? This is a question that will be clarified over time.

Masoumeh Chaheh was only 23 years old when the MEK commanders left her alone in deserts of Iran-Iraq border where she was raped. The outcome of that trauma is that she has been kept in a psychiatric institution for 20 years now.

Masoumeh Chaheh and her brother Hamid Chaheh joined the MEK’s headquarters in Iraq in 2002. At the time, Masoumeh was 23 and Hamid was 20. A few months later, Masoumeh was the one who revolted against the cult-like regulations and suppressive system of the group. She asked to leave the group, but it was no simple.

Hamid left the MEK in 2014 after the group was relocated in Albania. Only after his defection from the Cult of Rajavi, he learned about his sister’s heart-breaking fate. Today, near a decade after his defection he has found the courage to speak out. In an Interview with former MEK member Siamak Naderi, he gave testimony about his own experience as a member of the Cult of Rajavi as well as his sister’s.

According to Hamid, the MEK commanders had promised him to send his sister back to Iran with the company of one of their trusted agents –who were actually smugglers. Eventually, Masoumeh reached her aunt’s house in Tehran with bloody hands and in a state of mental breakdown. She would repeatedly say that several men in black chased her and raped her. Their other sister recounted the traumatic story for Hamid years later.

Since then, Masoumeh has been living in a governmental welfare center for mental patients. Based on Hamid testimonies only after ten years of psychotherapy, Masoumeh could speak about her experience as a member of the MEK, at Camp Ashraf. Today, she can explain what had happened to her in front of the camera of one of her family members, which is shown in Siamak Naderi’s TV show. “It was very hard,” she says in her purple hospital pajamas. “All day, they forced us to run and to work hard.”

She is 44 years old now, but she looks much older. Almost her entire hair has turned white. She is not able to stay home with her family more than one week per a month because she is always at risk of getting uncontrollably nervous.

The brother of Masoumeh, Hamid has lately come to term with himself in order to speak out about his sister’s distressing experience in only a few months of involvement with the Cult of Massoud Rajavi. As an expert and researcher on the MEK, Siamak Naderi is the first person to interview these two heart-broken siblings.
