Members of the Nejat Society Albania gathered on the streets of Tirana on the occasion of International Women’s Day to inform Albanian citizens about the violations of women’s rights in the camp of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK).

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Iranian and Albanian members of Nejat Society Albania tried to enlighten Albanian citizens about the MEK by presenting flowers to female citizens, holding a photo and poster exhibition, and distributing brochures about the violations of women’s rights in the MEK’s camp known as Ashraf 3, located in the remote village of Manz, north of Tirana.

https://dla.nejatngo.org/Media/Nejat/Albania/Nejat-Albania-March-202508-1.mp4

Hamid Atabay, an activist of Nejat Society Albani, while celebrating International Women’s Day, explains that the purpose of holding the photo exhibition is to enlighten the audience on what is happening to women in the MEK camp. Bijar Rahimi speaks about the forced hijab and the deprivation of the right to marry and have children for female members of the MEK. According to these two former members of the MEK, women in this group do not have the slightest freedom.

https://dla.nejatngo.org/Media/Nejat/Albania/Ela-Deda-20250308.mp4

Also, Ella Deda, Eltisa Billo, and Aldo Solullari explain to their compatriots about the nature of the MEK organization, its history, and its terrorist and cult-like activities.

Female members of the MEK are deprived of the Right to celebrate Women’s and Mother’s Day.

The Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) claims to support women’s rights, yet within the organization, women are stripped of their identity and denied the right to celebrate Women’s Day or Mother’s Day.

Motherhood itself is forbidden—women are forcibly separated from their children and forbidden from knowing them. On Mother’s Day, while mothers are cherished all over the world, the women of the MEK must suppress their pain in silence.

Women’s Day is similarly distorted. Instead of true empowerment, female members of the MEK endure forced divorces, emotional repression, and total obedience to the Mujahedin Khalq leaders. Any sign of independent thinking is punished, proving that the organization’s so-called feminism is a sham.

By erasing the personal identity of women, the MEK reveals its true nature as a cult that exploits rather than empowers. The world must recognize this hypocrisy and stand with the women who are locked inside, denied even the simplest joys of femininity and motherhood.

In the end, the resolution of the conference, that addressed the authorities of the government of Albania, was signed by the participants. The text and the signatures will be sent to the relevant authorities.

The MEK has formed a modern slavery in European soil in the 21st century.

The Nejat Society of Albania, as an organization that supports Iranians living in this country, has declared one of its goals to fulfill the human rights demands of the families of the members trapped in the isolated and remote camp of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO, Rajavi Cult), and uses all its capacity in this direction.

The women’s group of this Society is specifically the voice of families and especially mothers who have not known about their loved ones for years and want to communicate with them. The leaders of the MEK prevent this communication and violate the most basic human rights of their members.

On this day (March 8), which is named for the rights of mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, and all women, our request is to respond to the calls of the grieving families, especially the mothers of members caught in the MEK in Albania, to provide the possibility of communication between them and their loved ones after many years of detachment and no news.

We ask the responsible authorities in the government of Albania to allow the families of the members of the MEK to communicate with their children and meet their loved ones. In the 21st century, the MEK has formed a modern slavery in European soil. In this organization, all basic human rights and freedoms are violated, one of which is the right to communicate with the free world, especially the family. This can be done simply with a phone call or by making it possible for families to travel to Albania to meet after so many years.

With respect,

Members of the Council of Women’s group of the Albanian Nejat Society:

Erisa Idrizi
Ela Deda
Brikela Sulollari
Mirlinda Zharri

According to Maryam Rajavi the leader of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/ PMOI), women’s leadership is the guarantee for democracy and equality. She is right but the leadership of Iranian women, not the MEK’s women. Female members of the MEK are symbols of human rights violations. They are deprived of life with its various aspects.

The various aspects life are physical health, family and friends, relationships, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Experts say that we must know how to balance the various aspects of life in order to lead a happy and healthy life. These aspects of life are absolutely unheard of in the MEK.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the MEK leader speaks of democracy and equality for Iranian women while the condition of women inside her group is disastrous. Maryam Rajavi speaks of forced hijab as a violator of Iranian women’s rights while women of her group are not only forced to wear hijab but also, they are not allowed to choose the design, pattern and color of their own clothes.

MEK women are not only forced to wear hijab but also, they are not allowed to choose the design, pattern and color of their own clothes

She apparently advocates a female revolution in Iran while female defectors of the group everyday reveal new dimensions of women’s rights abuses committed in the cult-like system of her group.

Former female members of the MEK such as Batoul Soltani, Zahra Moeini, Homeyra Mohammad Nezhad, Nasrin Ebrahimi, Zahra Mirbagheri and Maryam Sanjabi have constantly denounced the Cult of Rajavi and warned the world about its threat of sectarianism and violence particularly against women.

France and Albanian states should be vigilant enough regarding the MEK’s presence in their territory. In both countries, the group has bases. Camp Ashraf 3, located in Duress, north of Tirana, Albania is an isolated place in which the rights of hundreds of Mujahed women are systematically violated on daily basis.

Today, women across the world including the Iranian women are seeking new achievements in their way towards equality and freedom but the MEK still enslaves women. Women in the Cult of Rajavi are deprived from the most basic human rights. They can never love or be loved. They must be single forever; they cannot be mothers anymore; hysterectomy surgery is an order from leader. Those in the group who had children have been separated from children. Based on their beauty and their ranking in the cult’s hierarchy, MEK’s women have been chosen by Massoud Rajavi, the disappeared leader of the group, as sex partners.

Western audience and human rights bodies must get to know that female members of the MEK endure severe mental and physical tortures under the destructive mind control system of the cult. Maryam Rajavi’s speech on the occasion of the International Women’s Day is ridiculous. She is one of the most horrific violators of women’s rights in the entire human history.

Every year on the anniversary of the “International Women’s day, the MEK gathers a number of women unaware of the group’s history of terrorist activities; agenda: necessity of freedom for women in the Iranian society!!

It is ironical that the MEK, well aware of the situation in Iran, creates lies for the very audience (who buy these lies either due to unawareness or love of money) and claims that the Iranian women are deprived from freedom and are forced to follow compulsory Hijab regulations while claiming to be bringing freedom for them. One should ask himself about how the MEK leaders treat the women in their group while they create such lies.

Studying each and every female member of the group proves that all of them are required to wear uniform and cover their heads, with no exceptions. This indicates the fact that THE MEK tries to distort reality and hide it from outside. Although they claim that this kind of clothing has been selected by the women in group, could anyone believe that there’s not even a different idea or selection among hundreds of female members?! In addition, this kind of mandatory uniformity of clothing shows that we are dealing with a “Cult”, with exclusive ideas about women.

Regardless of the way women wear in the MEK, another issue that attracts attention is the fact that all female members of The MEK are single. According to some public reports, tHE MEK leader Massoud Rajavi ordered all members to divorce and banned marriage in the group since the 80s, so all members can only dedicate themselves to the cult leader and The MEK’s cause. All this information is verified in reports and memories of former members of the group and are publicly accessible.

This is not all of it. Revelations (on sterilization of women) made by former female members, including Batul Soltani, Zahra Mirbagheri and others, expose the fact that the world is dealing with a horrible, bizarre and weird group which is violating women’s basic rights.

It should be noted that these women are never allowed to have a contact with their families in Iran or even meet them. Efforts by tens of Iranian families, whether inside Iran or abroad, during past years to see their relatives in The MEK camps in Iraq, and now in Albania, have remained futile. Even when the UNHCR in Iraq was going to interview the members, group leaders insisted on the presence of their own representative in all interview sessions; which clearly shows their fear of any comments about the internal situation.

Now the question is whether or not such a group with extreme cult beliefs that suppresses the basic needs of its own female members, is qualified to speak about women’s rights and women’s day or hold conferences for them?! Do the female politicians, who attend the group’s rallies in France or Albania, know that they are deceived by an anti-women cult?

Are all other female members allowed to travel to everywhere in Europe like Maryam Rajavi? Are they allowed, like Maryam Rajavi, to enjoy the right of having husband and family?

Let’s review Maryam Rajavi’s promises for Iranian women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day

Women’s rights are the fundamental human rights that were cherished by the United Nations for every human being on the planet about 70 years ago. These rights include the right to live free from violence, slavery, and discrimination; to be educated; to own property; to vote; and to earn a fair and equal wage. These basic rights have been constantly violated by the group leaders. Violence against women is one of the most systematic, widespread human rights violation in this group. This violation is embedded in unequal power dynamics between women and men that is reinforced by harmful social norms or inequality in the group.

Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ the Cult of Rajavi) has always pretended to be an enthusiastic advocate of Women’s rights. She adds certain rights to the above-mentioned list which sound quite rational and ethical. Just to mention an example, in her message on March 8, 2019 on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, she persuades the Iranian women”to rebel against the culture of surrender”and”to cultivate solidarity, compassion, friendship and trust among our people”.

Then she tries to inform her imaginary audience about their rights.”Women are free to choose their place of residence, their occupation, and education,”she writes.”They have a right to freely choose their spouse, to freely travel, to exit the country, to divorce, and to have custody over their children.”

A very”controversial”right that she tries to explicate is what she calls”freedom of choice for selecting their attire”. She asserts,”The compulsory veiling law must be abolished”. This right is controversial not only because veiling is compulsory in Iran but also because it is compulsory in the MEK too. While women in Iran should cover their hair and body according to the law, they are at least free to choose for the color, the pattern and the design of their clothing. But, female members of the MEK are not even allowed to choose for the color of their head scarves.

<img loading="lazy" width="1000" height="667" class="aligncenter wp-image-12101 size-full"src="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/MEK-Women-1.jpg"alt="MEK women"width="1000"height="667" srcset="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/MEK-Women-1.jpg 1000w, https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/MEK-Women-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/MEK-Women-1-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" />

This is obviously shown in the pictures broadcasted by the group, itself. All female rank and file are wearing uniforms in both ceremonies and routine life of the group. The group has no exception for the rule of forced hijab. For example, Ann Singleton was a British Christian woman when she was recruited by the MEK. She was forced to wear hijab as an MEK member. She was not able to unveil only after her defection from the group.
In the same way, Mrs. Rajavi should be questioned on other rights she suggests for Iranian women. First of all, the freedom to choose their place of residence. Members of the MEK have always been kept in concentration camps whether in Iraq or Albania. Members are not allowed to commute out of the camps. Maryam Rajavi should explain how it is possible to choose a paramilitary camp as a residence for over 40 years without any access to the outside world including your family and friends.

<img loading="lazy" width="500" height="567" class="aligncenter wp-image-12103 size-full"src="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Simorgh_Mek_1372.jpg"alt="MEK women at Simorgh operation"width="500"height="567" srcset="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Simorgh_Mek_1372.jpg 500w, https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Simorgh_Mek_1372-265x300.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />

She speaks of freedom of choosing occupation and education. There is no such thing in the MEK camp. You cannot find an actress, an artist, a fashion designer, a hair stylist etc. among almost a thousand women residing in Camp Ashraf. All duties are scheduled under the rule of the commanders and all occupations are defined according to the agenda of the organization.

The”freedom to choose spouse”is unheard of in Maryam Rajavi’s group. According to the group’s regulations, celibacy is mandatory. Nobody has married in the MEK since the so-called ideological revolution that was launched by the group’s disappeared leader Massoud Rajavi. The revolution required married members to divorce their spouses and single members to vow for long-life celibacy. However, Massoud Rajavi was the only person who later married a group of female members simultaneously.

<img loading="lazy" width="700" height="450" class="aligncenter wp-image-8738 size-full"src="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Ashraf_Camp_Women_1.jpg"alt="MEK Women"width="700"height="450" srcset="https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Ashraf_Camp_Women_1.jpg 700w, https://www.nejatngo.org/en/wp-content/uploads/Ashraf_Camp_Women_1-300x193.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" />

That means that polygamy was pretty normal for the leader of the MEK while his third wife, Maryam Rajavi utters,”Polygamy must be banned and marriage below the legal age will not be permitted”!

She also speaks of the rights”to freely travel, to exit the country, to divorce, and to have custody over their children”. There are at least 400 children of the MEK members who have been separated from their parents, orphaned in different countries and not allowed to contact their mothers because they are not permitted to enter the camp and mothers are not permitted to travel out of the camp either.

Furthermore, about a hundred of female members of the MEK have undergone forced hysterectomy surgeries in order to elevate in the cult-like hierarchy of the group. This stage is called”the Ideal Peak”by the group leaders.
It is clear that the”culture of surrender”is actually the dominant culture in the world Maryam Rajavi and her husband have created in Camp Ashraf. In this bizarre world, it is not possible”to cultivate solidarity, compassion, friendship and trust”. Members are expected to monitor their comrades all the time; they are supposed to write reports against their comrades; they are even expected to insult and beat their peers during the self-criticism meetings which are held on a daily basis in the group.

As the most basic rights of human beings and specifically women are violated in the MEK regulations, one should forget about the right to vote or the right to own property and to earn money. As an MEK member, nobody is compensated for the long hours of forced labor and sleep deprivation.

Therefore Mrs. Rajavi must explain about at least ten issues in which the rights of her female followers are violated:

1. Female members of the MEK do not have freedom of choice for selecting their attire.

2. Female members of the MEK do not have the right to freely choose their spouse

3. Female members of the MEK do not have the right to freely travel and to exit the group’s camp.

4. Female members of the MEK do not have the right to have custody over their children and even to contact their children.

5. Certain female members of the MEK have been deprived from motherhood for their entire life by a surgery.

6. Female members of the MEK are not free to choose their place of residence, their occupation, and education. No MEK member receives academic education in the MEK camps.

7. Certain members of the MEK’s Elite Council were made Massoud Rajavi’s wives during a ceremony called”Salvation Dance”, an evidence for polygamy in the MEK.

8. Female members of the MEK are under mental and physical pressure in the cult-like regulations of the group.

9. The atmosphere of fear, threat and distrust leaves no room for solidarity, compassion and friendship among female members of the MEK.

10. Female members of the MEK are not paid for the hard work they do in the camp and so they do not own any personal property.

Regarding the magnitude shortcomings in the ruling of Maryam Rajavi over her group, does she still envision”a bright and shining future”for”Iran’s women and people”?

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, three female defectors of the Mujahedin Khalq Organiation (the MKO) stated their steadiness in their efforts to liberate their friends who are still taken as hostages in the group.

Today, about 1000 women are kept in the MKO under the cult-like control of Maryam Rajavi.

Batoul Soltani, Homeira Mohammad Nejhad and Zahra Moieni are the disassociated members of the MKO who attended the European Parliament in Bruxel, Belgium on the Int. Women’s Day, March 8th.

During their visit with the EU representatives, they spoke of grieves and sufferings of a thousand Iranian women who are deprived from their basic rights under the rule of Maryam Rajavi.

Despite the propaganda launched by the MKO, these women could manage to bring the EU parliamentarian to hear the voice of the suffering women imprisoned behind the bars of the Cult of Rajavi.

The three female ex-members of the cult stressed their determination to keep on their work and support to fulfill the rights of their friends in the cult.

The women of the cult of Rajavi are enduring constant physical and mental pressure under the command of Maryam Rajavi. Modern slavery has made robots out of these women. According to the rules of the cult of Rajavi, female members are not allowed to marry and have children. They are not even allowed to contact their family. They are forced to wear hijab. Breaking the rules of the cult results in solitary confinement and mental and physical torture.

Massoud Rajavi has evidently told the five hundred members of the so-called Elite-Council of the cult that they are “maids” of Maryam Rajavi. A large number of these women have been serving Maryam in her headquarters in Paris for decades. Maryam Rajavi the co-leader of the cult is actually the executors of Massoud’s irrational and ambitious orders.

A list of women who have been physically and mentally tortured by the cult of Rajavi was submitted to human rights bodies and feminist movements.

Female members who are still captured in the cult of Rajavi are so horrified of torture that they cannot protest against the authorities of the cult. Some of these women are even in harder situation; they are imprisoned and isolated inside the cult; they are organizationally jailed.

Members of Women Association cult call on all justice and women’s rights movements and international bodies to investigate the case of women inside the MKO bases.

They probed the trial of Maryam and Massoud Rajavi in an international Court.

On Saturday March 5th, former members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO), active in different human rights associations including Aawa, Pen Club, Iran-Fanous and Women Association, held a conference in Koln, Germany.<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Meetings/Ger_201603/Koln_Women_Day.jpg"style="width: 420px; height: 212px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>

The meeting was held on the occasion of the International women’s Day to cherish hundreds of women who are still taken as hostages behind the MKO’s cult-like bars.

During the meeting, members of women Association, Batoul Soltani, Homeira Mohammad Nezhad and Zahra Moeini celebrated the third anniversary of the association. Batoul Soltani addressed the meeting warning the world about the danger by the side of the Cult of Rajavi. “As an eyewitness, I know the reality of the inside of this cult”, Batoul Soltani said. “I spend 20 years of my life in the Cult of Rajavi and now I’m happy because I won’t keep silent quiet until the cult is running.”

Ms. Soltani criticized Maryam Rajavi for her pro-democracy gestures and her slogans for freedom of women last week on the occasion of March 8th. “Humiliation of women” is the true function of the MKO Cult for women, according to the speakers of the meeting.

She warned Europeans about the “virus of the sect of Rajavi” which may affect their society.

“Although I know that the Iranian youth never tend to embrace the MKO, I’m concerned about the violent nature of the group”, Soltani added.

Then Ms. Homeyra Mohammadnezhad, addressed the audience in German confirming Ms. Soltani’s arguments.

The meeting was also attended by several former members and critics of the MKO destructive cult such as Ghorban Ali Hosseinnejad, Ali Akbar Rastgou and Mohammad Karami.

On the Occasion of Mayam Rajavi of Women Show on Feb 27, in Paris

While Maryan Rajavi the leader of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ Rajavi’s Cult), is about to hold conference on the occasion of Women’s Day on Feb 27, 2016 in Paris, France to allegedly defend the right of Iranian women, one should ask her who is to save the women entangled in your cult in Camp Liberty Iraq. The entanglement that transfered the women to modern slaves that would set themselves a flame when the slaver orders them to do so as Maryam Rajavi did in 2003 when she was arrested by French Judiciary for terrorism and human trafficking and money laundry. [No to terrorism -cults,]

<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/MEK/Self_Immolation/Self_Immolation_23.jpg"style="width: 500px; height: 130px;"/>

Urgent action is needed to save women from Mojahedin Khalq camps

International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women. As the UN suggest, this is the time to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges, and focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality to mobilize all people to do their part.

While the leader of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ Rajavi’s Cult), Maryam Rajavi holds conference on the occasion of Women’s Day in Paris, France to allegedly defend the right of Iranian women, one should ask her to present a proposal about the economic, political and social achievements of women in her own camps both in France and Iraq.

Evidences of former members of the Cult of Rajavi, international reports and news reports on the life inside the MKO camps, reveal that women of the MKO gain no economic, political and social achievements. They are just kept in cessation atmosphere, isolated in the cult-like system of the group.

About economic attainments, it should be noted that no woman in the MKO earns money or runs her own business.

Women in the MKO are completely separated from men. Even women are not allowed to associate with their same sex comrades as friends. Friendship is forbidden. Celibacy is obligatory and a lot of other facts that prove that female members of the MKO enjoy no social achievements.

They are not given the slightest opportunity to learn social skills. Most of them have no idea how to use a cellphone.

About political achievements of the MKO female members, it is enough to mention that the group has no significant role in the political scene of Iran. The group is highly unpopular among the Iranian society.

Former members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization are truly motivated to do their part in order to liberate their ex-comrades held as hostages in the group camps.
