Hardly can you find a nation opposing establishment of real democracy in their country and, of course, welcome whatever efforts done by pro-democratic parties and groups to accomplish the cause. In fact, the degree of the publicity the active groups receive indicates the veracity of their claim. Although a hypocrite group might attain some success as a pro-democratic activist out of its home-country by keeping its alien supporters in dark about its most undemocratic deeds practiced at least for nearly three decades, its claims of having Iranian support as the main opposition are sheer lies.

Brian Binley, a Member of Parliament from the U.K. Conservative Party, condemns the Iranian regime to have conducted human-rights abuses and, as a lover of humanity, has searched for a solution to the Iran problem and an approach in which the Iranian people can bring about democracy by themselves. That is not a bad idea. But something seems to have gone wrong in his research or he may have not access to reliable documents and sources because in talking of an outcome of his research in Beware of Iran’s trap, he states:

It was during this search that I came across the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and the National Council of Resistance of Iran. The situation of these opposition groups was difficult to understand due to the great deal of positive as well as negative information bandied about. However, treading carefully I reached the conclusion that these two groups not only offer a solution in bringing democracy to the people of Iran, but they are also the solution to averting a further war in the region.

It is hard to believe that Brian Binley as a Member of Parliament has come across MKO only through his research and has been unaware of its past history. However, he has to be notified that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and the National Council of Resistance of Iran are not two groups but one and run by the same leader; I refer him to the State Department’s list of FTO.

Mr. Binley has come to the conclusion that misinformation has been the cause to develop an untruthful recognition of MKO as a pro-democratic and legitimately popular group mainly aiming to establish democracy in Iran. Besides, here is his suggested solution for Iranian people as he has found in his research: “Search for a solution and you will find that the PMOI and the NCRI can offer the real solution to this crisis. The Iranian people supported by these opposition groups can bring about democratic change in Iran. This is a solution that we must all support.

But I have a much better suggestion for Mr. Binley to help him reach a reliable and authentic amount of information to complete his research concerning MKO; he is better to take a flight from London to Tehran and walk in the streets of the Iranian capital or any other city he likes, and have some chat with ordinary people or anybody he likes. For sure, he will burn his previously done research papers to ashes and will totally make a revision in his idea to propose MKO as founders of democracy. Mojahedin.ws-February 21, 2008

Midland MP (Mr. Binley) lobbies for terrorist group

They were branded murderous terrorists who indiscriminately killed civilians, politicians and soldiers.

But now a group closely linked to Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MeK) – the People’s Mujaheddin of Iran – is being represented by a Midland MP.

Brian Binley went on a six-day trip to Washington as a lobbyist for the National Council for Resistance in Iran (NCRI).

The group is described as the political wing of MeK, and paid for the MP’s visit.

Both organisations are on the US Department of State’s official list of foreign terrorist organisations, alongside Al Qaida, the Real IRA and ETA.

But Mr Binley spent his time in America in July 2006 talking to US politicians about the future of Iran, and spoke on behalf of NCRI.

The MP for Northampton South later declared the trip in the parliamentary Register of Members’ interests.

MeK has been condemned in the west for a campaign of terror lasting three decades.

In the 1970s, its members murdered western soldiers and civilians working on defence projects in Iran.

Throughout the 1980s, the group carried out bombings and assassination attempts on Iranian government workers, killing dozens of civilians.

It helped Saddam Hussein’s brutal campaign.

In 1992 the group attacked 13 Iranian embassies in capital cities around the world.

The organisation has been in limbo since leaders ordered it to surrender to coalition troops during the last Iraq war. The group also had its American office shut down in 2002 and its assets frozen after a court decided it was still classified as a terrorist group.

At the time, a Department of State said NCRI”functions as part of MeK and has supported MeK’s acts of terrorism.”

The NCRI claims it is a legitimate government-in-exile opposing the Iranian regime.

But opponents describe it as a cult based around its leader Massoud Rajavi, who disappeared during the 2003 Iraqi invasion. His wife Maryam is now president of the group.

Mr Binley, who was once photographed meeting Mrs Rajavi, is currently on holiday and could not be contacted last night.

But a source in his office said:”NCRI has been de-listed as a terrorist group by the European Union. Brian, along with a large number of other MPs, has been pushing for a similar change here, and in the States.”

The websites of terrorist group of MKO have quoted UK MP Brian Binley saying:

"We asked Jack Straw only two months ago to de-proscribe the NCRI and the answer was a definite ‘no’. He said they were a terrorist organization. I then asked if he could point to one incident when the National Council or the MeK harmed Western interests, and he could not give me an answer, he could not point out even one incident. And indeed I believe there aren’t any."

The major question for Mr. Binley is that "should we say a group is a terrorist group only if it has damaged the western interests?"

And more importantly: "What’s Mr. Binley’s idea about the figures and statistics of MKO terrorist operations inside Iran, provided by this group itself?"

Mr. Binley and people like him either have entered the scene of politics and the issue of Iran very late (that’s not true) or intentionally want to insist on UK’s dictatorial policy of interfering in Iran’s internal affairs! These policies only deprive Iranians from their basic rights.

According to MKO’s own documents and confessions, this group has conducted more than 12000 successful assassinations, 1000 operations, several border operations jointly with Saddam forces, several cases of torture and killing and … what’s this if it’s not terrorism?

For Mr. Binley’s, and other MKO partners’, information, we should remind that Iranian people didn’t wait for colonialists and toppled the puppet regime on February 11, 1979.

If you are seeking the repetition of history, you’re only showing your flawed understanding although this is the financial gifts of a terrorist group that shows its function in the stances of MKO’s partners and associates.
