Majed Ghamas, the representative of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council in Tehran, has said that the Iraqi nation disgraced the Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) by expelling their remaining members from Iraq, Tasnim reported on Saturday.<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Politician/Iraq/Ghamas/Majed_Ghamas_1.jpg"style="width: 400px; height: 212px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>

The top Iraqi envoy described the MKO as one of the shadowy groups that sought to launch a new wave of terrorist activities in the region.

He said the MKO must stop their terrorist activities as they want to enter other countries.

“The MKO reminds Iraqi people of very painful memories. This is a mutual feeling between Iraqis and Iranians,” Ghamas said.

“Saddam, as the key sponsor of the MKO, was ousted and then the Iraqi government attempted to expel the terrorist group from Iraq, and today, with the Iraqi people’s support, the MKO has been expelled from the country,” he added.

The MKO has existed as an Islamist-Marxist group in Iran since 1965, when it fought against the former Shah of Iran. It performed a number of attacks against the United States soldiers stationed in Iran and then it was put on the U.S. State Department terrorist list.

After the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the group resorted to bombings and assassinations. It then sided with the Saddam Hussein army the war against Iran in the 1980s.

Backed by the Saddam regime, the MKO launched a military attack on Iran in 1987, one week after UN Resolution 598 brought the war between the Iraq-Iran to a halt.

Iran accuses the group of being responsible for 17,000 deaths.

Saddam also used the group against Shias in the south and Kurds in the north.

A high ranking official of Iraq’s Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party harshly criticized Saudi Arabia over Turki Al- Faisal’s participation in anti-Iran Mujahedin e-Khalq organization’s Paris gathering on July 9.

Calling Faisal’s attendance at MKO’s controversial gathering in Paris a strategic mistake, Molla Bakhtiar, chief of executive Body of PUK political bureau, harshly criticized Saudi Arabia and said: “The move led the Iraqi people to deem Saudi Arabia an enemy state and state sponsor of terrorism,” Iraqi news website Alrafedin reported.

The Kurdish Iraqi official included: “MKO is an armed terrorist group comprised of a number of Iranian dissidents that has a black record of conducting crimes against Iraqi nation and the Kurdish people.”

He also added: “I demand Saudi officials to formally apologize Iraqi people and stop supporting the terrorist group. We acknowledge no difference between the ISIS and the MKO; They are two sides of the same coin and there is no excuse for supporting them.”

Known as a cult with a long record of terrorist activities, the MKO held its annual anti-Iran gathering in Paris on July 9, attended by cult members and a number of former officials from the U.S. and some Arab countries including Saudi Prince, Turki Al-Faisal. Former Saudi intelligence chief’s support of a terrorist group and his remarks in their gathering calling for the ‘overthrow of Iranian government’ made some controversies over the past few days.

A senior Iraqi parliament member said reminding the crimes committed by terrorist groups such as the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as MEK, NCRI and PMOI) is why holding the International Congress of 17000 Iranian Terror Victims is important, warning that ISIL is currently pursuing the same ideology promoted by the MKO.

Iraqi MP Hunain Al-Qado said the importance of reminding MKO’s crimes stems from the fact that some people try to keep these crimes under wraps.

He said the terrorist groups all pursue a shared objective, and added, “There is no difference between the ISIL’s terrorist acts in Iraq and Syria and Mojahedin-e Khalq’s terrorist acts.” “These groups use the same methods and have similar purposes which is creating fear and terrorizing civilians. So, what is going on now in Iraq is the continuation of MKO’s ideology.”

Emphasizing the need for cooperation among the regional countries that have been targeted by terrorist groups, al-Qado said, “On account of the arrogant powers’ struggles against Iran as well as their efforts in sowing the seeds of chaos in the Axis of Resistance, which is made up of Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and most probably Yemen in the future, it is vital to set up strategies in order to encourage integrated efforts in these countries and other countries which are a victim of terrorism.”

“There is, and must be, a coordination between Iran and Iraq in fighting terrorism, since the growth of terrorism in Iraq threatens Iran’s stability,” head of the Democratic Shabak Assembly added. “So it is vital for Iran to back Iraq in the fight against terrorism, which is an effort in protecting security and territorial integrity of Iran and neighboring countries.”

The Iraqi MP finally made a reference to the killing of Shabak minorities at the hands of ISIL following the bombing of the holy shrines of two Shia Imams in Samarra, and added, “There has been organized attacked against Shabak minorities to expel them from Mosul.” “Most of them have been killed and their houses were destroyed before the eyes of the local authorities. During the last year, ISIL occupied their villages and blew all their mosques out of the water,” he concluded.

An Iraqi politician cautioned Washington against the consequences of its possible military support for the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).<img alt="Iraqi Politician Warns US about Military Support for MKO Terrorists"height="173"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/News/Terrorism/MKO_Terrorism_4.jpg"style="margin: 10px; float: right;"width="240"/>

“The MKO has asked the US to send weapons for the group again,” Kurdish politician Tahsin al-Fili was quoted by Iraqi Al-Masalah news website as saying on Sunday.

He said the request by the MKO is not a new one but will be followed by an “appropriate” response from the Iraqi political circles.

The Iraqi politician also emphasized that the Islamic Resistance groups in Iraq and volunteer forces will pressure Baghdad to take the necessary decision to expel the members of the group from the Arab country.

The MKO – listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community – fled Iran in 1986 for Iraq and was given a camp by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. They fought on the side of Saddam during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-88). They were also involved in the bloody repression of Shiite Muslims in southern Iraq in 1991 and the massacre of Iraqi Kurds.

The notorious group is also responsible for killing thousands of Iranian civilians and officials after the victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979.

More than 17,000 Iranians, many of them civilians, have been killed at the hands of the MKO in different acts of terrorism including bombings in public places, and targeted killings.

Back in December 2011, the United Nations and Baghdad agreed to relocate some 3,000 MKO members from Camp New Iraq, formerly known as Camp Ashraf, to the former US military Camp Liberty outside Baghdad.

The last group of the MKO terrorists was evicted by the Iraqi government on September 11, 2013 to join other members of the terrorist group at Camp Liberty and await potential relocation to other countries.

Rapping the Mujahedin-e Khalq’s call on the US to arm the terrorist group’s members in Iraq, a former member of Iraqi National Alliance says their request is “completely unacceptable.”<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Politician/Iraq/Bazouni/Jawad_al_bazouni_L.jpg"style="width: 270px; height: 207px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>

Jawad al-Bazouni told Habilian correspondent in Baghdad that the MKO is a terrorist group and Iraq is firmly decided to expel the group from its soil.

The comments came as the MKO terrorist group has put pressure on the US to “hand over part of their personal protection weapons.”

Al-Bazouni said that MKO was a part of the former suppressive regime of Saddam, adding “we cannot let such a group remain on the Iraqi soil anymore.”

He called on the MKO supporters to move the terrorist group outside Iraq.

He pointed that the US will not be able to arm MKO, since the move will provoke Iraqis’ anger and questions the US neutrality which is not desirable at the time.

Mujahedin-e Khalq(MEK, a.k.a. MKO) which is the most hated dissident group in the eyes of Iranians due to its acts of terror against civilians and the fact that the group made common cause with the Iraqi dictator in his bloody war on Iran, were disarmed after the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.

Sarraj told the reporter for Ashraf News, that “Washington also hopes that the MEK terrorist organization can be used as a bargaining chip in any future negotiations with Iran.”

With respect to the MKO terrorist group’s demand last Wednesday that the United States re-arm them in Camp Liberty, Adnan al-Sarraj said, “I do not find it surprising. This ridiculous request to get arms from the Americans is a tactic used by the US with the clear political agenda to add pressure in favour of America in the next upcoming negotiations, otherwise it is clear that in the current circumstances it is impossible for them to do this.”

Razak Abdul A’imma al-Haidari, Iraqi MP, from the Badr Parliamentary bloc said that the Mujahedin Khalq Terrorist Organization was counting on the ISIL in Iraq to collude with them to keep its members at Camp Liberty<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Persons/Rajavi_M/Rajavi_ISIS_2_L.jpg"style="width: 300px; height: 181px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/> (Temporary Transit Location) and then to take them back to Camp Ashraf.

‘The MEK is ready to cooperate with any terrorist party hostile to Iraqi government and the people’, the MP Al-Haidari told Ashraf News reporter.

He emphasized that since the MKO is considered a threat for the future of the country, the newly established government of Iraq as well as Iraqi people are serious in removing them from Iraqi soil.

The member of Iraqi National Alliance asserted: Navigating the MKO media, one could see the organization hailing the crimes and savagery committed by the ISIL in Iraq.

He also noted that the leadership of the terrorist Organization in France believed that the Prime Minister Maliki’s stepping down would pave the way for their organization’s stay in Iraq. However Mr. Haidar al-Abadi putted an end to their illusions and at his first press conference emphasized on the expulsion of all terrorist groups – including the Mujahedin Khalq Organization – from the Iraqi territory.
