This is Ebrahim Khodabandeh, the CEO of Nejat Society in Iran. Nejat Society belongs to the families of the members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO) lead by Maryam Rajavi. The group is now living in a remote and closed camp in Albania isolated from the outside world.
MEK is a mind control destructive cult. They had their bases in Iraq under Saddam Hussein and were active during the Iran-Iraq war on the side of the enemy. Their main base was Ashraf Garrison. They were fully armed and financed and supported by Iraqi Ba’ath Regime.
After the fall of Saddam Hussein, many MEK members managed to flee from Ashraf and reported lots of atrocities against the members including physical and mental pressure, solitary confinement, torture, and even execution. Those who tried to escape ended up in Abu-Ghraib prison.
According to the cultic rules and regulations of the MEK, the followings are forbidden inside the cult and the wrongdoers are liable for punishment.

– Marriage and forming a family,
– Trying to leave the cult,
– Criticizing the leader and the cult,
– Contacting the outside world particularity family and friends,
– Having private thoughts and belongings

The MEK moved to Albania in 2016 and they established the same remote and closed camp in Manëz in the province of Durrës, also isolated from the outside world with the same Cultic rules and regulations.
The MEK members are suffering from modern slavery. They have no way out and they have been subject to mind manipulation and brain washing for decades away from society and their families.
The families of these members expect you as a UN official to intervene into the matter via the Albanian government to arrange for the families to have access to their loved ones inside the camp in order to be in touch with them. Some of these families have had no contact with their relatives for decades.

Open letter from 50 separated members and freed critics of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran

New criminal act against refugees in Albania Mariam Rajavi’s criminal act to eliminate opponents they left that organization. In an unprecedented move, without any financial or administrative backing, the UN Commissioner in coordination with the PMOI and Maryam Rajavi has announced to the people they left this cult in Albania that they will cut off all assistance to these asylum seekers from the beginning of the New Year. And the responsibility will be with Albanian government. While these people do not have any legal qualifications and, given the situation in the Albania, there is no possibility of work or visit their family, many of these people they are old and more than 55 years old and they are not able to work and during the past years they were with this cult all of them have physical problems and they have been subjected to psychological torture also they have many mental problems and they need special attention. After these years they have been past they are not able to do their job and many of them need surgery. It should be noted that , Maryam Rajavi, who has signed a contract with the Commissioner and the Albanian government, stated that, this organization and the people they will leave them ,they never ask to change their status as asylum, and they will be in this country as a humanitarian situation According to the contract, it is the responsibility of the organization to pay the financial support to these people until they are in this country. But on the basis of this disgraceful agreement, Maryam Rajavi, in her effort to eliminate these people, is trying to strike all the ways ahead of life front of these people in order to create fear between her forces, in the same way, she is trying to cut off their money. The cost of living these people, while all living expenses include the rent of the house and pay for electricity and water, they must pay for everything while they haven’t any sources for get money. These costs are paid to these people at the lowest level and under conditions , they must do mercenaries for this organization, and are trying to get news about their friends and their families to the organization to make daily feeds to people they live with organization for making fear between them. During these years, despite the fact that according to the contract they must be paid by the organization, but this organization minimized it in with two steps, and Ministry of Interior of Albania and the UNHR based in Albania also the US government, which was a party to the deal closed their eyes against MKO after the interruption. And now, another conspiracy has been arranged by this organization, the UNHCR announced to these people they left them, from the beginning of the new year, the UNHCR will cut their supports, no medical support no any help, even the medical counseling they have been given to them because of the psychological and psychological pressures they have been inflicted during the years they have been with this organization over past years. Unfortunately, it should be added that in all references to the Ministry of Interior and the High Commissioner of Refugees to receive this contract, both party aren’t accountable and in a coordinated manner, they play with these people. It should be to mention that the organization has signed an agreement with the Albanian government to complete this conspiracy, the Albanian government doesn’t allow any family from Iran to come to Albania to visit their children, and this has also been reported by the UNHCR, this organization and Albanian government trying to isolate them here until they die. These people by wrote protesting letter to the UNHCR in Geneva, wrote their concern their right has defaced by this organization and Albanian government, but unfortunately did not receive any response to their demands. We are demand all the human rights activists want to be our voice and transmit our voice to the world and social networks and press. Because we are imprisoned here in Albania and all the roads are closed to us and we know what these are because of Rajavi, she doesn’t want anybody leave them so the only way is to kill all of us or forced us to leave this country by illegally way, but we will pay price to be free and reach our rights and we never give up and do what Maryam Rajavi wants and we don’t scare of this organization and what they are doing against us and we will face their threat. The world is not without justice, and there will be people to be our voice and reach it to all of world. Thank you in advance for all your work

Open Letter from the “Free Iran” Association to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Albania

We would like to inform you that the authors of this paper are human rights activists who have had a history of organizational co-operation with the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization under the leadership of Masood Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi in Iraq and Albania, but due to political differences and access terrorist and sectarian organizations of this organization have been separated from this organization.

We, besides appreciating the efforts of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Albania, we consider it necessary to further help and informing for the work of refugees and members of Mojahedin-e Khalq who wish to separate from this organization or those who have already been separated from this organization.

According to the close knowledge and experience of our long-standing cooperation (10-30 years) with the Mojahedin-Khalq organization and also the reports published by the police and the Albanian Interior Ministry and the new members who abandoned the Mojahedine organization, we believe that the process of brainwashing and the isolation of persons and arrestees within the organization goes further to the base of Mojahedin-e Khalq in Albania.

But in spite of inhuman and illegal conditions, members of Mojahedin-e Khalq have created the conditions for being separated from the mental and physical occupation of this cult. Unfortunately, UNHCR unlawfully and in violation of the fundamental human rights provisions has deviated from some of its responsibilities by entrusting the cult of Mojahedin-e Khalq and has allowed this organization to made inhumane pressures to its members who, according to international law, are recognized as refugees and have not paid attention to the problems that these people have reported to UNHCR’s offices in Albania, while not being able to exercise their fundamental rights.

Under the provisions of international law and the fundamental obligations of the UNHCR High Commissioner for the Protection of Refugee Rights, we have been waiting for you to help these refugees who have been separated from the cult of Mojahedin-e Khalq. But our reports show that this is not true and that the process of staying and legal issues in Albania are facing with serious obstacles.

The UNHCR High Commissioner should provide direct financial assistance to all refugees, regardless of this if, he has been disconnected from the Mojahedin-e Khalq organization in Albania or is still present there. According to you, can the UNHCR High Commissioner entrust his responsibilities to a terrorist cult who has committed thousands of terrorist operations and human rights violations in his story?

International human rights organizations have made various reports on the negative performance of the organization, as can be seen from the Human Rights Watch report on widespread human rights violations in the camps of this organization.

Currently, over 240 members of Mojahedin-e Khalq, who have been part of this organization, reside in Tirana, where police and the Interior Ministry of Albania are in contact with them, they have also confirmed the brainwashing of prisoners at the headquarters of Mojahedin-e Khalq in Albania, which are in line with the reports of international human rights organizations.

Now arises the question that, how UNHCR’s High Commissioner some parts of his formal and organizational responsibilities trusts to a sectarian and violent organization?

Are not UNHCR officials in Albania aware that the Mojahedin organization treats its members as slaves and does not allow them to meet and talk with their families?

We hope that UNHCR in Albania closely monitor the works and responsibilities of its staff, in order to provide better conditions for refugees separated from the Mojahedin-e Khalk Organization.

Two former members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ the Cult of Rajavi) visited the officials of the UN High Commissioners for Refugees.

On Tuesday February 20, Ghorban Ali Hosseinnezhad and Davoud Baghervand as founders of “NO to Terrorism and Cults” association visited the UNHCR authorities in the central office of the commissioners in Geneva. The two MKO defectors discussed the situation of the refugees who have recently left the MKO in Tirana, Albania.

They appreciated the UNHCR’s taking action to pay the refugees’ monthly payment independently excluding the MKO authorities from confiscating the defectors’ money.

As former high ranking members of the MKO cult, Hossseinnejad and Baghervand gave testimonies on what they underwent and witnessed in the oppressive system ruling the MKO and warned the authorities about the critical situation of those who are still in the group. They described the physical, mental and financial pressure that the MKO leaders impose on their member as if they are their hostages.

Hosseinnejad asserted that the actions of the human rights bodies will not be effective unless the hostages of the MKO’s cult-like system are informed of their basic human rights and are able to decide for their future with their own free will. So the HCR authorities should visit the MKO hostages regularly and ensure them that HCR supports them in any case. ”they are bombarded with disinformation about the UNHCR and the free world as the world of capitalism and bourgeoisie,” Hosseinnejad told the authorities.

The authorities of the UNHCR promised to inquire the situation of the current members of the MKO as well as the defectors of the group.

The forgotten victims of the Rajavi Cult (MKO, MeK, NCR) demand information on their children.

More than 350 suffering mothers of the members of the Rajavi Cult, who live in Iran and who have been deprived of contact with their children and are known as the forgotten victims, have collectively written a letter to Mr Filippo Grandi, Head of the UN High Commission for refugees in Geneva.

The text of the letter signed by more than 350 mothers is as follows:

With regards, as you are already aware, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization does not allow its members any sort of contact with their families and this fact has imposed a great deal of suffering on us as their mothers.

Today in Europe, mothers whose children have been recruited by ISIL and been sent to Iraq and Syria and other parts of the world, are called ‘the forgotten victims’ since they have no means of contact with their loved ones and do not have any information about them.

If you look at our case, we are even more forgotten than those mothers, since unlike them we have not been able to attract any world attention because of political reasons. We do know the whereabouts of our children and have approached them many times and have even gone as near as about 100 meters to them in Iraq. But the MEK leader Massoud Rajavi has denied us from having any contact with or knowledge about our children.

Now that the MEK have all moved to Albania we urge you, as the head of the body responsible for them and their location in Tirana, to use your authority to arrange meetings with our loved ones and let us know about them and how we can contact them. Please do not leave us suffering the way it is at the moment and has been in the past.

We are certain that you can easily arrange this. Therefore, we ask you to respect ours and our loved ones’ human rights and putting aside all the political and regional and international issues; please be brave and help us as mothers to have our rights.

We are a group of families who have come to Iraq in the hope of visiting our loved ones who are incarcerated in Camp Liberty. From 23rd to 26th of May 2016 we have presented ourselves four times at the gates of the Mojahedin Khalq’s camp (Liberty) bringing flowers and sweets and presents including tokens of our country’s soil. We have come in good faith and with clean hearts, without any feelings of hostility or even criticism against the leaders of the Mojahedin Khalq (MKO, MEK, NCRI …). Our only hope has been to meet with our family members. But the cult minders and guards not only did not show any friendly gesture or regard for our simple demands, instead they crushed our presents (the soil of our county which is obviously precious for us) under their boots, destroyed and burned the flowers and gifts we brought. On 26th May 2016 they increased their hostile activities and, adding to the usual swearing and insults, they started attacking us physically, injuring some.

I would like to bring to your attention some parts of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights UDHR):

“Article 13.

(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.

And:

Article 16.

(…)

(3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.”

Your colleagues from the UNHCR attended the scene shortly after we were attacked by the Mojahedin Khalq (MKO) and witnessed the situation. There are also photos and video clips which can be presented as evidence. All the families involved in this event are, of course, ready to give evidence about what happened.

Our question is why your good self and your organisation which clearly witnessed the injustice and the abuse of our human rights in front of the gates of Camp Liberty are silent and why is it that you do not wish to act to restore our rights?

How do you explain your double standards to the on looking international community?

We don’t have any demand but just a simple one. We demand the right to visit our children. Why is it that your do not engage to restore this simple human right which has been abused for long enough right in front of you?

We urge your good self to take notice of our basic, legal, humanitarian demand.

The Mojahedin Khalq (MKO, MEK, ….) claim that we are “agents of the intelligence ministry of Iran” and not the families of the people trapped inside camp Liberty. The Mojahedin Khalq have long used this excuse to prevent us from visiting our loved ones. To take away this ridiculous excuse we would now like to ask you and your organisation (UNHCR) to take charge of our trips to Iraq and arrange simple and basic meetings with our loved ones outside the confines of Camp Liberty and without the presence of Mojahedin Khalq minders and commanders. We are of course ready to bear the expenses but we need this trip to Iraq to be under your supervision and command. Our country is a member of United Nations and pays its yearly dues accordingly. It is part of your duty to give us an official answer.

We now wait for your reply.

We are the families of prisoners imprisoned in Albania by the Mojahedin-e-Khalq. We write this letter to inform you that after years of captivity in Iraq, our children, while some of them were captured by Mojahedin-e-Khalq in the Iran – Iraq war as a soldiers for their country and others were captured by Iraqi soldiers sold to this organization by Saddam Hussein. And some others were young people who were out in the hope of education or employment were kidnapped from Iran and other countries such as Turkey and were transferred from the airport to the Mojahedin in Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

After the years of captivity in Iraq by the Mojahedin-e-Khalq they transferred to Camp Liberty in Iraq in the worst conditions with the painful life without communication with the outside world, without access to means of communication such as telephone. And we were never able to meet them despite repeated trips to Iraq.

Now they transferred to Camp Albania.

We thought Europe was the cradle of liberty. We hope that many of the prisoners’ human rights problems will be solved by going to Albania. But, unfortunately seeing images and information obtained from Camp Albania reveals that even in Europe which is the cradle of freedom and civilization, very difficult living conditions are considered for prisoners. The pictures show the apartments with completely covered windows and strict control over the captives outside of the apartments. Our loved ones do not have any communication with the outside world.

These conditions made it impossible for the prisoners to make any decisions for the separation of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization. We believe that it is our human right that the government of Albania will provide conditions to meet with them. We asked you to provide communication devices such as phones, telegrams, etc that we can have a remote connection with them.  We urge human rights organizations to investigate the causes of these anti-human and hostile behaviors by prisoners in your country. We appeal you to strive to resolve this problem. Please help us.

I am Mahnaz Akafian, the mother of Mohammad Ali Sasani, who was a prisoner of war in Iraq but he is now prisoner in MKO in Iraq.

I have not had any news from my son for 28 years. Some time ago I went to Ashraf Camp and more recently I went to Liberty Camp in Iraq to find him. Unfortunately, I did not get any result. I do not know if humans have different rights. I ask you a question as a human rights representative. If a person is in prison and is condemned to death, do they have the rights to have contact with and see their family members? We ask from the MKO that we see our children. Even if we are guilty of all the sins they accuse us of, why shouldn’t we be allowed us to see our children? So many fathers and mothers were not allowed to see their children and they died. With this weak body of mine I ask, let us meet our son!
