The news is a reminder of a very similar story about the agents of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO\/ MEK\/ PMOI\/ Cult of Rajavi) that was revealed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/4340\">Seymour M. Hersh<\/a> of the New Yorker, in April, 2012.<br \/>\nHersh reported that the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) of the US military conducted training, beginning in 2005, for members of the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, a dissident Iranian opposition group known in the West as the M.E.K. in the terrain of the Department of Energy\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/4394\">Nevada National Security Site<\/a>, with its arid high plains and remote mountain peaks, has the look of northwest Iran. The site, some sixty-five miles northwest of Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12904 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/MKO_Mercenory_L-1.jpg\" alt=\"US training MEK members\" width=\"540\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/MKO_Mercenory_L-1.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/MKO_Mercenory_L-1-300x159.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the investigated report of the New Yorker, the training of MEK operatives ended sometime before President Obama took office, the former official said. A retired four-star general, who has advised the Bush and Obama Administrations on national-security issues, told Hersh that \u201che had been privately briefed in 2005 about the training of Iranians associated with the M.E.K. in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/5356\"> Nevada<\/a> by an American involved in the program\u201d.
