{"id":15110,"date":"2023-08-15T14:08:26","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T10:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/?p=15110"},"modified":"2023-08-16T10:44:51","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T07:14:51","slug":"iran-brings-huge-case-against-over-100-mko-terrorists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/15110","title":{"rendered":"Iran brings \u2018huge\u2019 case against over 100 MKO terrorists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Iran\u2019s top human rights official says the Islamic Republic has brought a \u201chuge\u201d case against more than a hundred members of the terrorist cult Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), which has murdered tens of thousands of Iranian citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with ISNA news agency published on Saturday, Kazem Gharibabadi, secretary of Iran\u2019s High Council for Human Rights, emphasized that Iran wants to rid the world of terrorism and terror outfits.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that a \u201chuge\u201d case has been brought against 107 high-profile members of the MKO, and their indictment has been referred to a court in Iran. A special branch has also been formed to deal with the matter, and the defendants have been notified via email, he said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_13892\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13892\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13892\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/.\/Gharibabadi-Kazem.jpg\" alt=\"Kazem Gharibabadi\" width=\"700\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gharibabadi-Kazem.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gharibabadi-Kazem-600x355.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gharibabadi-Kazem-300x177.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-13892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Secretary of Iran Judiciary\u2019s Human Rights Council<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe court will soon start its work in accordance with the provisions of the criminal procedure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Gharibabadi reiterated that the Islamic Republic is determined to employ all available tools to counter terrorists, especially the MKO terrorist group.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018MKO terrorists roaming freely in West\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>He also lamented the fact that the members of the MKO are freely wandering around in some Western countries despite having murdered numerous innocent Iranian nationals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn parallel with the legal, judicial and political pressures that the Islamic Republic of Iran has exerted on some countries housing MKO members, those states have also independently come to the conclusion that the MKO is really a terrorist group. They are placing limitations on them, and we welcome the restrictive measures against the MKO terrorists,\u201d Gharibabadi noted.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-15110-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/dlb.nejatngo.org\/Media\/Report\/PressTV\/PressTV-Iran-Case-MKO.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/dlb.nejatngo.org\/Media\/Report\/PressTV\/PressTV-Iran-Case-MKO.mp4\">https:\/\/dlb.nejatngo.org\/Media\/Report\/PressTV\/PressTV-Iran-Case-MKO.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dlb.nejatngo.org\/Media\/Report\/PressTV\/PressTV-Iran-Case-MKO.mp4\">To download the video file click here<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Why the raid?<\/h3>\n<p>Albanian police authorities have reportedly taken control of the Ashraf-3 camp housing anti-Iran MKO terrorists, imposing strict restrictions on the entire area.<br \/>\nThe top Iranian rights official also vowed that Tehran will not be content with the current level of actions against the MKO, adding that their host countries must either expel or prosecute them.<\/p>\n<p>The MKO has carried out numerous terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Out of the nearly 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist attacks over the past four decades, about 12,000 have fallen victim to the MKO\u2019s acts of terror.<\/p>\n<p>On June 20, Albanian police forces entered the MKO camp, known as Ashraf-3, near Tirana due to its engagement in \u201cterror and cyberattacks\u201d against foreign institutions. Authorities seized 150 computer devices linked to terrorist activities.<\/p>\n<p>At least one person was killed and dozens of others were injured during the clashes at the camp. More than a week later, the police entered the camp again and security forces were deployed at the entrance to the camp to control all vehicles leaving the site.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador over the Italian parliament\u2019s decision to host the ringleader of the MKO terrorist cult.<\/p>\n<p>Albania\u2019s Prime Minister Edi Rama later said the MKO must leave the country if it wants to use Albanian soil to fight against Iran, adding that his country has no intention of being at war with Iran and \u201cdoes not accept anyone who has abused our hospitality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The European Union, Canada, the United States and Japan had previously listed the MKO as a \u201cterrorist organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, the group was taken off the US list of terrorist organizations.
