{"id":4657,"date":"2012-07-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/2012\/07\/23\/liberty-conditions-comply-with-un-living-standards\/"},"modified":"2021-01-22T01:09:36","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T21:39:36","slug":"liberty-conditions-comply-with-un-living-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/4657","title":{"rendered":"Liberty conditions comply with UN living standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Addressing the Security Council on July 19th, the top United Nations envoy in Iraq highlighted the key role played by the UN Mission in the country, stressing that there is still much to be done to <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/st.nejatngo.org\/Image\/Politician\/UN\/Kobler_Martin_3_L.jpg\"alt=\"\"align=\"left\"hspace=\"10\"vspace=\"10\"\/>improve the political, economic, and social situation in the Middle Eastern nation.<\/p>\n<p>The envoy voiced concern about the delay in the relocation of the residents of Camp New Iraq \u2013 formerly known as Camp Ashraf \u2013 to a new location, Camp Hurriya, prior to their resettlement in third countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTime is running out to find a sustainable situation,\u201d Mr. Kobler said, urging the Camp Ashraf residents to cooperate with the Iraqi authorities and to relocate. He also urged Member States to offer resettlement to eligible former Ashraf residents, as \u201cwithout prospect for resettlement the ongoing process runs the risk of collapsing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Through UNAMI&#8217;s facilitation, about two thirds of the residents have moved to the new location in the past months, but 1,200 residents still remain in Camp Ashraf.<\/p>\n<p>Following his official report and briefing situation on Iraq Martin Kobler, appeared before the reporters to share his informal comments to the media.<\/p>\n<p>In his comments, he verified the UN 24\/7 hours monitoring at the Liberty and stated that the situation in Camp Liberty is ideal and humanitarian according to the UN living standards.
