{"id":8047,"date":"2018-02-28T11:29:17","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T07:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/?p=8047"},"modified":"2021-01-21T19:25:03","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T15:55:03","slug":"defectors-mko-visit-unhcr-authorities-geneve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/posts\/8047","title":{"rendered":"Defectors of the MKO visit the UNHCR authorities in Gen\u00e8ve"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Two former members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO\/ MEK\/ PMOI\/ the Cult of Rajavi) visited the officials of the UN High Commissioners for Refugees.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Tuesday February 20, Ghorban Ali Hosseinnezhad and Davoud Baghervand as founders of \u201cNO to Terrorism and Cults\u201d association visited the UNHCR authorities in the central office of the commissioners in Geneva. The two MKO defectors discussed the situation of the refugees who have recently left the MKO in Tirana, Albania.<\/p>\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"700\" height=\"502\" class=\"wp-image-8048 size-full\"src=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hosseinnezhad_Baghervand_201802.jpg\"alt=\"\"width=\"700\"height=\"502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hosseinnezhad_Baghervand_201802.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.nejatngo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hosseinnezhad_Baghervand_201802-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/>\n<p>They appreciated the UNHCR\u2019s taking action to pay the refugees\u2019 monthly payment independently excluding the MKO authorities from confiscating the defectors\u2019 money.<\/p>\n<p>As former high ranking members of the MKO cult, Hossseinnejad and Baghervand gave testimonies on what they underwent and witnessed in the oppressive system ruling the MKO and warned the authorities about the critical situation of those who are still in the group. They described the physical, mental and financial pressure that the MKO leaders impose on their member as if they are their hostages.<\/p>\n<p>Hosseinnejad asserted that the actions of the human rights bodies will not be effective unless the hostages of the MKO\u2019s cult-like system are informed of their basic human rights and are able to decide for their future with their own free will.
