In a meeting with Deputy Iraqi Interior Minister for Security Affairs”Shirvan Al-Vaeli”, Iranian Foreign Minister”Manouchehr Mottaki”said that in the light of good relationships between the two countries, the presence of Iranian opposition groups in Iraq is not acceptable and that Iranian government and people are waiting for the extradition of criminals and the expulsion of enemies from Iraq.
Inviting the head of MKO doesn’t mean support for this group/The United States, Norway and the EU consider this group as a terrorist organization.
In an interview with Mehr News in Norway, Iranian ambassador in Norway said the Norwegian officials had assured him that inviting the head of MKO to visit their country and to meet a number of parliament members doesn’t mean they support this terrorist group.
The statement also says that”the two sides say that the formation of joint task force helps security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries and strengthens the ties”.Iraqi government announced last month that al-Rubaii met the Iranian intelligence minister and discussed issues such as intelligence cooperation, fighting terrorism and illegal border crossing.
Following a meeting with the secretary general of Habilian Association in Mashhad Seyed Javad Hasheminejad, Mr. Sheikh talked to Mehr News and said:
“The scheduled plan of the government to restrict the terrorist MKO and expel its elements from Iraq shows the faithfulness of the government to its promises on fighting terrorism.”
Abudi, a member of Iraq’s anti-terrorist community, expressed regret for terrorists’ presence in Iraq and said:”According to Iraqi constitution, terrorist groups should leave Iraq. Mojahedin-e Khalq is also a terrorist group that Iraqis wish to be expelled from their country.”
Mottaki said:”The US and Europe have for long time entangled themselves in this complicated situation; they condemn terrorism and designate the MKO as a terrorist organization on one hand and support this group on the other. Members of this group were in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was in power, and he (Saddam) couldn’t do anything against Iran. This group has performed terrorist operations and has assassinated different Iranian figures but nothing has happened because the revolution is not based on a particular person. If there’s concern, it’s for the other side, not for Iran.”
UK Foreign Office reiterated proscription of the MKO as a terrorist organization.
In a conference on the activities of the terrorist MKO, foreign office once again said that this group is a foreign terrorist organization…
If the MKO is found guilty of committing genocide and crimes against humanity, as defined by international organizations, in Iraq, the issue can be pursued through legal means
