Citing the MKO’s hostile measures taken against Iranian officials and the nation, Safari said removing the group from a list of proscribed terrorist organizations is ‘unacceptable’ and ‘politically motivated’. The Iranian official advised the British government to act against the implementation of the verdict to avoid the serious effects the judgment will have on Tehran-London relations.
Roughly 60 British marines have been seen patrolling along Iraq’s border with Iran near the Shalamcheh border crossing, sources have said. “Close to 60 British marines were seen patrolling near the Iranian border of Shalamcheh in groups of 20, carryig light weapons and with the apparent intention of monitoring the condition of the sealed border crossing,”sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity told PRESS TV.
US President George W. Bush has reportedly authorized a covert operation to set the stage for a military offensive against Iran. According to Counterpunch magazine, President Bush signed a secret finding in March authorizing a covert offensive against Iran, which those familiar with its contents believe to be ‘unprecedented in its scope’.
The United States is getting unreliable intelligence from the terrorist Mujahedin Khalq Organization which assisted Saddam Hussein during the imposed Iran-Iraq war, said Mohammad Khazaei in an interview with the Associated Press. Khazaei reiterated that Iran has resolved all six outstanding issues about its nuclear program, insisting that Tehran should not face any new UN sanctions.

British Foreign Office announced on Tuesday that the British government still considers the banned MKO a terrorist organization. Mark Mallon Brown, British deputy foreign secretary for Asia and the United Nations, protested a recent verdict by the Commission for Reviewing the Status of Banned Organization.
The program, called ‘La Rubrica Politica Estera’, was aired by Italy’s state broadcaster RAI1 on Friday. At the beginning of the program a number of Iranian families were shown holding pictures of their deceived children, asking for them to be allowed to return to Iran.
A documentary aired by a Swedish TV channel, has also revealed that the MKO also involved in espionage operation on behalf of ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. According to the documentary, the Iraqi dictator had equipped the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) with sophisticated gadgets to pave the way for their terrorist acts against the Iranian nation.
The European legislator said ignoring the terrorist group’s violation of human rights and inviting it by Struan Stevenson would undermine the European Parliament’s efforts to promote democratic values. Beer expressed strong opposition to lifting the ban on the outlawed group.
