Ebrahim Khodabandeh, a former MEK member and current CEO of the Nejat Society, was interviewed by Tehran Times a few weeks ago.

Sheida Sabzehvari of Tehran Times introduces Nejat Society as “a Tehran-based entity with offices across Iran and Europe that assists families seeking contact with loved ones in the MEK.”

Presenting a summary of his involvement with the MEK, Khodabandeh tell Tehran Times about the group’s tactics to infiltrate the western governments, to buy the support of certain politicians and to raise funds in European cities. He also speaks of the cult-like attitudes of the group leaders who violate the basic rights of their own members.

The CEO of Nejat NGO explains about the activities of the NGO during the past two decades in order to accomplish its mission which is to aid the families of MEK members who are not allowed by the group leaders to contact their loved ones. According to Khodabandeh, cooperating with the international human rights bodies, Nejat NGO has taken a lot of actions to help families but in most cases the bodies have failed to provide adequate assistance in this regard.

The interview has been published in two parts on Tehran Times website. This is part one.

With great regret, we were informed of the passing of Mrs. Badri Hosseinian Foote the wife of Professor Paul Sheldon Foote.

The honorable couple were human rights activists who were also focused on the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) as a terrorist communist cult that violates the rights of their members and their families.

Lady Bardi died at Namazi Hospital in Shiraz, Iran. “Badri Khanum” was a familiar name in America for human rights activists. Her activities aimed at exposing the anti-human nature of the Cult of Rajavi.

Professor Sheldon Foote announced the passing of his wife in his LinkedIn account:
With immense sorrow, I announce the death of my beloved wife of 55 years at Namazi Hospital in Shiraz, Iran. We married on October 25, 1968. Badri and I met while working at the Chief Foreign Branch of Barclays Bank in London, England. She was a bank Managerfor Bank Melli Iran.

Born in Shiraz, she was a graduate of the University of Shirazi. There is a famous song about my dear Shirazi girl. Many Iranians told me that the best wives come from Shiraz. I learned that this is true.

Our marriage survived extreme strains, such as the Iranian Revolution and America’s endless wars against Muslim countries.
Evil American politicians and media lie about Muslim and Christian relations. Thanks to my marriage with a Muslim and my work with the Middle East and North Africa, I learned about how America’s evil leaders and media dupe Americans into even supporting a genocide in Gaza. Shame on anyone who votes for Democrats and Republicans who support Israel.
Badri and I struggled to provide the best of both worlds for our children and grandchildren. Hopefully, others will follow Badri’s example. Badri was the best.
Badri (Hosseinian) Foote
1936 – 2024

Nejat Society sends its most sincere and deepest condolences to Professor Foote on the loss of lady Badri who was a great woman, always standing on the right side of the history.

The Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ NCRI/ Cult of Rajavi) is not currently considered a social, political or even security threat for the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, the group is still enjoying the material support of the enemies of Iran in order to target psychological security of the Iranian nation using its well-fueled propaganda machine.

What puts the MEK in the limelight is human rights issues. The group is a considerable example of destructive mind control cults. It uses manipulation techniques to control and maintain its members violating the basic human rights of theirs and their families’.

Unfortunately, the current international political circumstances have made the MEK leaders capable of committing human rights violations against their own members, imposing sufferings on their families. And, they have never been questioned for the human rights they abused.

As an NGO formed by former members of the Cult of Rajavi and families of present members, Nejat Society calls for a change in living conditions of the MEK members who are deprived from the most basic human rights including the right to contact their family. Nejat Society is in charge of drawing international attention to human rights abuses committed against members of the MEK.

In Nejat Society’s point of view, members of the Cult of Rajavi are kept in a modern slavery. They are mentally and physically imprisoned. They should be released from such a catastrophic situation and their human rights should be restored. During the past years, Nejat Society has worked hard to at least restore the MEK members’ right to contact their families.

Dear UN Official Mr. Hortens Balla,

First of all, we appreciate the interest you have shown to celebrate Iranian New Year for our friends <img alt=""height="163"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Nejat/Nejat_EL.jpg"style="margin: 10px; float: right;"width="210"/>–refugees of Camp liberty, Iraq who left the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO), once they were resettled in Tirana.

A few days before the UNHCR hold the New Year’s party, the MKO authorities in Tirana planned a Nowruz celebration for those members who are still trapped under the control of their cult-like group. They actually sought the attention of the newly defectors of the group in order to recruit them again. They awfully feared the collapse of their cult hegemony which was already in decline.

On the one hand, the party organized by the UN office distressed the cult authorities and on the other hand, it reinforced our friends in their effort to distance themselves from the cult indoctrination system.

By the way, we would be pleased to introduce our NGO in a few words.

Nejat Society is an NGO founded by ex-members of the MKO in Iran. Founders of Nejat who all endured the sufferings and pains of living in the "Cult of Rajavi" are determined to rescue their former friends who are still takes as hostages in the MKO camps.

Nejat society’s offices all over Iran get in touch with families of MKO hostages who have been deceived or hijacked into the group. We work hard to inform them of the situation of their children and loved ones mentally or physically imprisoned behind the bars of the cult.At the moment, Nejat Society includes nearly 3000 families all over the country.

As former members of the MKO terrorist cult, we have longtime experience of taking proper action to deal with the MKO-triggered plots. Thus, It would be a pleasure for Nejat Society to cooperate with the honorable UNHCR officials.

Yours Sincerely,

Nejat Society
