Camp Ashraf – Bulgarian Mission in Iraq Likely To Be Terminated

Defence Minister Vesselin Bliznakov and the Chief of Army Staff Zlatan Stoykov returned safely from a visit to Iraq, where they met troops providing security at the Ashraf camp.

Bulgaria’s non-combat unit is 154-strong and guards the Ashraf refugee cam, located 60 kilometers north of Baghdad.

It is not certain whether Bulgaria will continue its mission in Iraq, Defence Minister Vesselin Bliznakov said after he returned from his visit to Iraq.

The Bulgarian unit’s mission is due to end on 31 March 2007. But it is still not certain whether the mission will be continued because that depends on the whether the USA will extend an invitation for that.

In order for our unit to continue its mission in Iraq the USA have to send the invitation at the beginning of 2007 so that the parliament can have time to discuss and adopt the resolution, Bliznakov said.

The political decision should be made after a serious analysis has been carried out, he said.

There is no risk of Bulgaria undertaking too many commitments without being able to provide for them, he added.

Vesselin Bliznakov returned safely from a visit to Iraq, where he met troops providing security at the Ashraf camp.

MKO Admits Cooperation with Terrorists

Following the Iraqi officials’ revelation on MKO’s active role in terrorist activities and its interferences in Iraqi internal affairs, remnants of Rajavi’s gang formally acknowledged it.

Iraqi PM’s Security Advisor Shirvan Vaeli said in an interview with Al-Forat TV: "Mojahedin-e Khalq has made alliance with Al-Qaeda in Dyalah province; it’s conducting terrorist activities in this province."

Vaeli said he had documents proving the existence of link between the MKO and some MPs who try to ruin the government.

Independent TV channel "Almasar" also quoted Dyalah’s governor that "The MKO supports terrorist groups".

On the other hand, General Hassan Shati, in an interview with Al-Hayat newspaper, reported that MKO forces cooperate with terrorist teams in Dyalah.

Following this revelation, remnants of Rajavi hurriedly expressed their stance. Accepting and acknowledging their interferences in Iraq’s affairs (particularly in Dyalah province), MKO remnants announced that they have formed "National Front for Saving Dyalah" with Saddam loyalists!

Raymond Tanter

Raymond Tanter spoke of MKO’s interference in Iraq’s internal affairs

Raymond Tanter, bankrupt republican and arms dealer who sells weapons to mercenary groups, talking on the issue of situation in Iraq to Al-Jazeera last night, overtly spoke of MKO’s interferences in Iraq’s internal affairs.

A supporter of MKO, Tanter has repeatedly asked the US government to use the terrorist group as leverage against Iran. On MKO’s ties with remnants of Saddam, he said:

“The US should strongly support Sunnis (read the very terrorists who conduct terrorist operations against the Iraqi government). They have common interests with the Iranian opposition”.

Tanter’s comments are a reaction to recent revelations on the relationship between the MKO and terrorists in Dyala and also remnants of Saddam Hussein.

MKO spokespersons also have tried to decrease the effects of these revelations, denying the accusations in a naïve way (despite all reports broadcast by MKO’s own TV channel).

A few months ago, Irandidban reported of the gathering of Baath remnants in Camp Ashraf and that they had shouted slogans in favor of Saddam and against the government of Iraq.

Polonium-210, Fiction and Fact

According to Seymour Hersh, in early 2004, John Bolton, who was then the Under-Secretary of State for Arms Control, privately conveyed to International Atomic Energy Agency officials his suspicions that Iran was conducting research – at Parchin, the center of Iran’s Defense Industries Organization – into "the intricately timed detonation of conventional explosives" needed for implosion-type nuclear weapons.

But, even if Bolton’s suspicions were true, if no nuclear materials proscribed by the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons had been used in the alleged Iranian tests, then Iran would not have been in willful violation of its NPT-associated IAEA Safeguards agreement. In that case, what the Iranians had done or were doing at Parchin was literally none of the IAEA’s business.

So, at a press conference held in Paris on 3 February, 2005, by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (a US State Department designated "terrorist organization") Mohammad Mohaddessin, the self-styled Chairman of their Foreign Affairs Committee, made certain specific charges about Iran’s ongoing nuclear programs.

"Brigadier General Dr. Seyyed Ali Hosseini Tash, deputy Defense Minister, is the official in charge producing weapons of mass destruction in the Ministry of Defense. He is, among other things, responsible for producing the neutron initiator for the nuclear bomb. The production of Beryllium and polonium-210 is being carried out under the supervision of Hosseini Tash. He has all the capabilities of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization at his disposal.

"By irradiating Bismuth metal, Iranians have succeeded in transmuting it into Polonium-210. Tehran has lied to the IAEA that it has not produced Polonium-210 in the past 12 years, since 1993. It has also failed to offer convincing explanation as to why it had produced Polonium-210 in the early 1990s.

"Despite such denials, Tehran is now producing Polonium-210 at Lavizan II military site, which I first revealed in November. That site is affiliated with the Defense Ministry’s Center for New Technology, headed by Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who reports directly to Hosseini Tash. Dr. Fereidoon Abbasi is the deputy to Fakhrizadeh."

Polonium-210 is a NPT proscribed nuclear material.

Here’s why: From a formerly Top Secret description of the Soviet Union’s first implosion-type nuclear weapon –

"Construction of the bomb:

"The element 94 [Plutonium], without any uranium-235, is the active material of this bomb. The so-called initiator, namely a beryllium-polonium source of alpha particles, is inserted into the centre of a ball of plutonium. (The plutonium is surrounded by 50 pounds of tube-alloy [U-238],* which is the ‘tamper.’)

"All this is placed in an aluminum shell of thickness 11 cm. This aluminum shell in turn is surrounded by a layer of the explosive ‘pentalit’ or Composition C (Composition B according to other information) with wall thickness 46 cm.

"The casing of the bomb into which this explosive is inserted has an inner diameter of 140 cm. The total weight of the bomb including the pentalit, the casing, etc. is about 3 tonnes.

"It is anticipated that the force of the bomb explosion will be equal to the explosive force of 5000 tonnes of TNT. (The efficiency is 5-6%.) The fission count equals 75 x 10exp24."

Now, hardly anyone would use a PoBe initiator in a modern implosion-type nuke.

Here’s why.

Polonium-210 is produced in quantity by irradiating Bismuth with neutrons in a nuclear reactor. And if the reactor is IAEA Safeguarded, the Polonium-210 becomes subject to the IAEA Safeguards and Physical Security system.

But the Polonium-210 half-life is only 138 days. Hence, if the nuke is not to be a dud, the Polonium-210 used to fabricate the PoBe initiator for a nuke needs to be produced a mere 10-12 months before the nuke is actually used.

Now, at the time the NCRI official made the charges about Iran, as best the IAEA could determine – after more than a year of extremely intrusive on-the-ground inspections, conducted in conjunction with a full-scope Additional Protocol to Iran’s Safeguards Agreement – there was "no indication" that any nuclear materials proscribed by the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons had ever been produced for – much less diverted to – a "military purpose."

Nevertheless, according to Hersh, in response to the NCRI allegations, in November of 2005, an IAEA inspection team was allowed to single out a specific site at Iran’s super-secret Defense Industries Organization, and then was granted access to a few buildings at that site.

According to Hersh’s IAEA source, "We found no evidence of nuclear materials."

That didn’t deter our erstwhile UN Ambassador, John Bolton, who seized on these allegations to strong-arm first the Brits-French-Germans (who were negotiating, allegedly on behalf of the European Union, a package of "objective guarantees" from Iran that its nuclear programs were strictly for peaceful purposes) into demanding that Iran suspend indefinitely all its uranium-enrichment activities.

When Iran – understandably – concluded that such a demand was inconsistent with the terms of so-called Paris Accord, which constituted the basis for the negotiations, Iran resumed some of the IAEA Safeguarded uranium-enrichment activities it had voluntarily suspended more than two years before.

Well, Bolton went Bonkers. He then strong-armed the IAEA Board of Governors – who were not involved in any way in the Paris Accord negotiations – into demanding that Iran re-suspend those Safeguarded uranium-enrichment activities, provide the IAEA Board information that under its Statute it had no right to request (much less "demand") and return to the Paris Accord negotiations.

Ultimately, Bonkers Bolton even strong-armed the UN Security Council into passing UNSCR 1696, which "called" upon Iran to acquiesce to the IAEA Board’s demands.

Or else.

Or else what?

Well, as of this writing, nothing much.

Dear Sir,

I would like to draw your attention to a matter concerning the Mojahedin-é Khalq Organisation (MKO) – otherwise known as People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) disguised as National Council of Resistance (based in Paris) and National Liberation Army (based in Iraq).

The weekly Persian periodical “Mojahed”, the official organ of MKO, has reported on your role as the key figure in a three day symposium held in US Congress under the title “Iran: foreign policy challenges, solutions and democratic opposition” (Mojahed, No 823, Monday, Nov 20, 2006). The article states that you delivered a 250 page report in that meeting.

You are well aware, as a former member of the House of Representatives, of the 1994 State Department report on the Mojahedin which describes it as a terrorist group. Of course the MKO leaders, the Rajavis ignored that report at the time since they were backed by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and were fully relying on him. Since the collapse of the despot they have tried to find a new ally, this time in the West, but their main obstacle has been the above mentioned report. Now they desperately need to be represented by some apparently independent establishments as an acceptable opposition group and to lend it the appearance of legitimacy in order to keep the organisation going.

As a result they are now vigorously pursuing ‘information laundering’ to whitewash their dirty past. As the name suggests this is identical to money laundering, which of course the organisation has also expertly undertaken. The Mojahedin has gone to a lot of effort and expense to pass-off its own version of information about itself – which of course has been part tidied up and part fabricated – to independent, well-known highly respected bodies which will then publish it as genuine, independent and reliable researched information.

That this current campaign of ‘information laundering’ is aimed at seducing a newly Democratic Party-led Congress is too obvious even to have to mention it.

However, what is abundantly clear is that you and your establishment have become the conduit for this campaign. Perhaps you are unaware however that once you get involved in the sort of game the Mojahedin are playing, you will hardly be able to find a way out of it.

For example, long-time apologist for the Mojahedin, Professor Raymond Tanter in an interview with Al Jazeera TV has said that "America should support the Sunnis, who have a lot in common with the Iranian opposition, against Iran". Professor Tanter, as a result of his uncritical support for the Mojahedin now appears to be advocating a return to American support for the Ba’athists with the Mojahedin as centrepiece of Iraqi opposition against Iran.

In reality the Mojahedin’s campaign is both too little and too late. MKO is not, as it claims, a democratic alternative. It is neither democratic nor capable of being an alternative; as the near collapse of Camp Ashraf in Iraq amply demonstrates. You can find many victims of MKO inside and outside Iran. There are many individuals who have suffered from the activities of MKO. Human Rights Watch published a report under the title of “No Exit” last year which reveals human rights abuses inside MKO. Mr Scott Ritter begins his book under the title “Target Iran” describing the MKO and its past record.

Following is a brief list of genuine information about the Organisation’s activities during the years it conducted the process of its so-called struggle against the ruling system in Iran:

The military, financial, and political relationship between the MKO and the deposed dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein:

– A video tape attained after the fall of Saddam Hussein clearly reveals that the MKO leaders and principally Massoud Rajavi received huge boxes of money from the Iraqi Authorities, specifically the Security Services Chief Jaleel Tahir Habush, along with assassination orders to be carried out inside Iran.

– The National Liberation Army (the military wing of MKO based in Iraq) has been financed, trained, facilitated, armed, and supplied with intelligence and ammunition by the Iraqi Army to counter the Iranian Army throughout the war between the two countries.

– Many ex-members of the NLA have given full witness statements as to how the Organisation’s military forces entered the internal conflicts in Iraq, particularly suppressing the Kurds in the north and the Shiites in the south in 1991.

– According to many members of the Organisation arrested inside Iran, they have been trained, facilitated and helped cross the border by the Iraqi armed forces and security services to carry out assassinations and terrorist activities inside major cities in Iran.

– Many defected members have also stated that their discontented associates have been jailed, abused of their basic rights, tortured, and finally handed over to the Iraqi officials to be locked up in Abu-Ghraib prison under Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship.

– It is worth considering that apart from being in various international terrorist lists; and being hated by the vast majority of the Iranian people for their cooperation with the enemy during the war; no government has ever supported the Organisation in any form except for the Iraqi Regime under Saddam Hussein. Of course the Organisation has managed to gain the signatures of many members of parliaments in Western countries on its petitions due to their lack of knowledge of the terrorist nature and terrorist activities of MKO.

– According to many undeniable documents, the money collected in US and in Europe by the so-called charity and humanitarian institutes have been sent to Iraq (after its track has been lost by money laundry) to be used for the NLA on arms and ammunitions.

The systematic contact between the Organisation’s HQ in Paris (the establishment formed in Auvers-sur-Oise under the cover of NCR) and the NLA bases in Iraq:

– According to the DST press releases and statements as well as the French authorities’ press conferences referring to the materials found inside the Organisation’s Paris HQ, the two bases in France and Iraq have been closely and continuously linked using highly sophisticated devices.

– The documents clearly show that there is no distinction between different establishments of the Organisation and they are all run under the close leadership of the Rajavis.

– It is also clear that all activities in Western Europe and North America, including the political, publicity, and financial performance of the Organisation have been directly guided from Iraq.

Establishing fake societies and associations to cover the Organisation’s illegal financial and other acts and money laundry in Western Countries:

– On many occasions the members of the Organisation have clearly and directly been told that the money which they collected in Western Countries for ‘the cause of homeless and orphaned children’ has instead been destined to be used for arms and other expenditures of the Organisation.

– The Organisation has many institutions that do not reveal their nature or their dependence on the PMOI (MKO), but which are all directed and instructed for their activities directly by Maryam Rajavi.

– In particular, it should be noted that the MKO (PMOI), the NCR, and the NLA are alias establishments and could not and should not be dealt with separately. They all have terrorist nature which is well theorised and justified for the participants.

The internal relationship of the Organisation and its cult status:

– The self-appointed, charismatic, life leadership has unlimited power over decision making in every aspect of the Organisational affairs including the most personal matters concerning the members.

– The internal structure of the Organisation is based on absolute totalitarianism. The spiritual leadership (Rajavi) is positioned high above everyone, and cannot be criticised by anyone under any circumstances.

– The process of brainwashing, psychological coercion, and thought reform has widely been practiced inside the Organisation under the direct supervision of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. A range of very sophisticated physiological and psychological persuasive techniques have been used to engage the followers in conspiracy and fraud as well as the most bizarre acts such as self-immolation.

– Many people have been harmed and their rights have been abused by the Organisation. Small children have been separated from their parents, families have been torn apart, and the possessions of the followers have been taken away. There are many psychological casualties still under treatment as the result of abuses inside the Organisations.

– The intimidation and harassment of critics inside (as well as outside) the Organisation has become a common habit to silence those who might expose these facts. Defectors in particular have been continuously subject to threats and personality destruction campaigns.

Getting to know Maryam Rajavi:

– Maryam Rajavi became the co-leader of the Mojahedin-é Khalq Organisation (MKO), alongside Massoud Rajavi, in 1985 and was announced the chairperson of MKO in 1989. She was appointed as Iran’s future President by the NCR on 1993 before she left Iraq for France. She returned back to Iraq again on 1995. Since the formation of the NLA in Iraq on 1986, Maryam Rajavi has been Second-in-Command of the Army after her husband Massoud Rajavi, and has personally directed many military operations against Iran during the Iran-Iraq war – though neither of the Rajavis have the military knowledge or training to qualify them for such a role.

Bearing in mind the above mentioned facts which were pointed out very briefly, it is now worth asking where one should stand on this case. Today, even the most rigorous opposition to the religious dictatorship of the Islamic Republic of Iran does not approve the methods and manners imposed by the MKO. The Iranian opposition as a whole truly believes that the Organisation’s so-called struggle has severely damaged their efforts to restore democracy and freedom in Iran.

The truth is that many offences have been committed behind the legal presence of the MKO in western countries. These could have been prevented if this case had been dealt with sooner when many defectors, who have been under enormous physical and psychological pressure from the Organisation, had warned the western authorities about the subject. Many have been harmed and suffered from the Organisation’s acts all through the world. The victims can be found everywhere both inside and outside Iran. And the international community certainly bears responsibility for this.

The Organisation claims that all its assassinations and sabotage activities had taken place inside Iran during their armed struggle against the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this way they aim to discard the terrorist charges. They argue that they have never used arms inside western countries where they have been proscribed as a terrorist group. But in reality the MKO is surely a terrorist Organisation by nature, and they do believe in using violence for their political purposes. According to their beliefs the end justifies the means. So they have no limitation, as they have shown through the years, toward committing any sort of crime to reach their goals. It should also be considered that the mastermind of the Organisation has always been situated either in Iraq or in Paris and all the terrorist activities inside Iran have been directed from these two places over the past two decades.

A great deal has been said about the crimes of the MKO and its related institutes. Now it is time for a small amount of action to be taken to show that the Western authorities have taken the matter seriously. Any person who was assassinated inside Iran, any combatant who was self-eliminated by pulling the trigger of a hand grenade or taking a cyanide pill, or any youngster who committed self-immolation are all similar victims of a notorious cultic Organisation led directly by the leadership which was based in Iraq and has now moved to France. The world’s public opinion, the many victims of the Organisation, and the Iranian Opposition want to see that this situation is dealt with justly. They want to see an end to what has been going on for years now. They are certainly extremely concerned to imagine that the MKO’s infamous crimes might be whitewashed away by misinformed but otherwise respectable people.

I find it my duty and responsibility to remind you of the nature and deeds of MKO in the past and at the present time. Below I refer to a few books and reports that offer a variety of well-documented, well-researched information and witness accounts concerning the Mojahedin Organisation.

With kind regards and many thanks for your kind attention to this matter,

A Great Disaster for the MKO

The issue of execution order for Saddam Hussein and removal of "Donald Rmusfeld" can be interpreted as minor disasters for the MKO when it comes to the departure of anti-Iranian US diplomat in the UN John Bolton. For, the hopes of the murderous gang of Rajavi for possible actions against Iran in the UN- if any- have all failed due to the recent development.

While the anti-Iranian leaders of the MKO had no will for broad sanctions or military invasion on Iran, the will of men like "Wolfowitz", "Rumsfeld" and "Bolton"- who like to fight Iranians only due to their ties with Israel- created good opportunity for this group to maneuver; in fact, it was a window for hoping that the group will survive.

MKO’s ties to John Bolton are not limited to the post-Iraq war era or his appointment as the US ambassador to the UN but they were established long ago when the contacts of the MKO with Zionist lobby in the US were expanded.

First, the MKO sent him gifts and during an electoral campaign, he received large amounts of money from the MKO. After that, MKO regularly rewarded him with money that was called gift or other kinds of aids.

Bolton’s greatest favor to the MKO was at the time when he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of State. At that time, he took part in a commission in the US Congress in order to justify some Pentagon plans for using the MKO in Iraq. He said using the MKO for espionage activities is the reason why the Congress should approve Pentagon plans.

Then, Bolton tried repeatedly to pretend that they had received first hand information on Iran’s nuclear program from the MKO, while the truth was the opposite!

Anyway, loss of Bolton will have double impact on the terrorist murderous gang of Rajavi. On one hand, the man they had bought is now far from decision-making circles of the US administration; on the other hand, removal of Bolton indicates that the policies, the application of which would lead to the use of MKO by US, have totally failed.

So, the catastrophe of losing John Bolton means losing all opportunities the MKO had created for itself during past ten years in order to get itself lifted from the terror list.

It should be noted that even people like Bolton, who received money directly from the MKO, opposed the idea of lifting the MKO from terror list since they believed that even in the case of using this group they should always keep the leaders of the group in leash.

MKO’s Testimony on AMIA Case Is Baseless

Reprted by IRNA quoting Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Iranian charge d’affaires to Argentina Mohsen Baharvand in a meeting with Argentine Judge Rodolfo Conicoba Corral explained invalidity of the testimony made by members of terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) accusing Iran of having a hand in the bombing of Argentine Jewish Center (AMIA) in 1994. The meeting is said to have been arranged in the context of cooperation between Tehran and Buenos Aires on legal proceedings about the bombing.

In July 1994, the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) building in Buenos Aires exploded killing 85 people. A car was reprted to have been detonated before the building. According to the testimony of at least a dozen eye witnesses, there was no car bomb but explosion came from the inside outwards. Although the "internal explosion theory" was later proved by the experts, the Israel’s sovereignty over this issue influenced the course of the investigations.

In 1998 the investigation claimed to have proof of the implication of Iran in the AMIA bombings and Argantine duly expelled seven Iranian embassy staff. Mohsen Rabbani, cultural attaché to the Iranian embassy in Buenos Aires was alledged as a key planner of the attack; he was held in Germany but was released due to lack of evidence.

MKO’s information has been known to be the main source on which Iran is accused about the AMIA case. Working as the agents and mouthpiece for Israel, MKO are assigned to introduce what Israel intends to against Iran. It was the same case with Iran’s nuclear file when the group disclosed the Israeli satellite pictures of Arak and Natanz as the documents received from their informants in Iran.

Of course, the vigilant minds are well aware of Mojahedin’s real intention to pose as the Iranian main opposition by repeating the accusations of Israel and the U.S. against Iran. A question does form in the thoughtful minds that why only a globally blacklisted terrorist group can be trusted as the main sources of making accusations against a country whose nation detest that same group.

Iraqi Authorities' stance on the MEK

Iraqi President Confirms the Expulsion of MKO

Mr. Jalal Talebani once more confirmed the determination of Iraqi government on the issue of expulsion of MKO from his country.

In a meeting with Mr. Hasheminejad the president of Habilian Association, Mr.Talebani assured him that MEK has no place in Iraq. Mr. Hasheminejad is the representative of victims of MKO’s terrorism (the children of those who were martyred by MKO).

During the meeting Mr. Hasheminejad presents a report of the situation of the families who were victims of MKO terrorist operations. Mr. Talebani declaring his regret because of the presence of such a group in his country notified that MKO has cause a lot of damage in Iraq including its close cooperation with Saddam Intelligence Services and its direct relation with Saddam in order to commit crimes against Iraqi people.

Mr. Talebani added :" In their attack against Kurdistan, MEK caused much pain to the people, however the document of that invasion can be seen in the high price the MKO paid in Kurdistan, I mean the killing of several dozens of their fighters." he said:" During the last days of Saddam’s dictatorship when the groups of people were going on pilgrimage to Imam’s Shrines, MKO used the opportunity to serve Ba’ath Regime in those last moments and formed a group of mercenaries to kill the pilgrims.

Mr,Talebani declaring his regret again, stated that the group deserves the public and deep hatred which is in Iraqis’ hearts.

After such tragic events, the people and the government of Iraq demanded the expulsion of MKO from their territory. Therefore the Iraqi government has given a six-month deadline to them in order to leave Iraqi soil.

‘Mr Armey, do not let terrorists use you as a cover’ Hadi Shams Haeri

 Dear Mr. Armey,

I read Mr. Massoud Khodabandeh’s open letter to your good self.

Mr. Khodabandeh is a former member of the religious cult Mojahedin-e Khalq Organisation, and is currently a human rights activist in the UK who has explained in his letter very briefly, the terrorist nature of Mojahedin cult and its past and current activities. I would like to let you know that I, as a former long serving member of this cult agree with every part of his letter.

Mr. Khodabandeh, in his letter to you, has briefly mentioned some aspects of the dreadful crimes committed by the cult. Books have to be written in order to truly bring to light the extent of the crimes committed by and the true nature of the cult.

I hope what has been written to you would be enough to inform and convince you and your colleagues not to let terrorists use you as a cover for continuation of their terrorist activities.

Yours sincerely,

Missions of Nejat Society

Nejat society Letter to The Honourable President of the Republic of Iraq

Nejat Society correspondent-Tehran- Through a meeting with the President of the Republic of Iraq , Nejat Society representative delivered a letter to Mr. Jalal Talebani  on behalf of  Nejat families.  His Excellency Jalal Talebani The Honourable President of the Republic of Iraq Your Excellency Nejat Society would like to sincerely welcome you to Tehran and express gratitude for your stances regarding expelling the members of the Mojahedin-é Khalq Organisation (MKO) lead by Mas’ud Rajavi from Iraq. Nejat Society, which is established by some defected members of Rajavi’s Terrorist Cult, is active for humanitarian and anti-terrorist causes to safeguard and implement the democratic thoughts and civilised ethics. One of the higher goals of Nejat Society is to help the victims of terrorism in all its forms, and assist individuals held captive by the leadership of MKO in Ashraf Camp in Iraq, as well as their anxiously awaiting families in Iran.

Nejat Society deeply believes that being committed to find democratic conducts to assist those under the rule of terrorist cult groups such as MKO is a sacred and humanitarian responsibility. Fortunately you are well acquainted with the MKO and its deeds particularly against the Kurdish people. No one can deny the very fact that MKO did actually assist Saddam’s army to suppress Kurds in 1991.

There is one undeniable fact that MKO and its National Liberation Army (NLA) have been an inseparable part of Saddam Hussein’s Regime and have even participated along the forces of the Deposed Despot to suppress the People of Iraq’s freedom movement. The Organisation is also responsible for many sabotage and terrorist activities inside Iran through the years.

You are aware that around 3000 members of MKO are residing in Ashraf Camp (Al-Khalis Garrison) under the control of the US Army. These people have no connection with their families what so ever and they have all been somehow brainwashed by the leaders and kept unaware about the outside world. They are systematically manipulated to serve to the benefits of the leaders.

The Mojahedin-é Khalq Organisation, over the years has situated numerous people in their Camps inside Iraq under severe control, repressive conditions, and totally disconnected them from the outside world; and therefore has placed many serious obstacles against their members stopping them from contacting their families in Iran. Hereby we wish to express our disgust against the undemocratic deeds and inhuman manners of the leadership of the Organisation who abuses the basic rights of the members inside Ashraf Camp, which is on the contrary to the democratic values and principles of an advances community. Therefore we urge you to facilitate the possibility of inhabitants of Ashraf Camp meeting their families in a free atmosphere without the presence of the officials of MKO, by using your legal capacity and political authority.

Nejat Society finds its duty to try to bring these people out of their misery and once again introduce them to the normal life and the real world. In other words these people must be helped to survive from the state of captivity that they are experiencing at the moment. Driving them out of Iraq would mean liberating them from the hand of their capturers. Expelling the members of MKO in a way that they no longer could be controlled by the leaders of the Organisation would be to their own best interests and that of their families. Once they become freed from the barriers of the Organisation and be let to think and decide independently and find themselves in a new world, they would certainly be most pleased about their new situation out of the Organisation’s control.

We also wish to draw your attention to another important matter. It is well clear that the leadership of MKO had always acted as a strategic ally of dictatorial regime of Saddam Hussein, in recent years. They have joined the security and military forces of the Regime of Iraqi Ba’th Party to take part in violent activities and planning terrorist operations against both nations of Iraq and Iran and murdering and terrorising the civilians. The former ruling regime of Iraq has covertly spent millions of dollars gained from the UN oil for food programme during economical sanctions against the people of Iraq to help MKO, without informing the international authorities, and has breached international regulations regardless of economical pressures imposed to the people of Iraq. This Organisation has in return tried to restore the political and military power of Saddam Hussein; in such way that one can say the leader of MKO and the former Iraqi dictator have been one spirit in two bodies.

MKO would of course like to keep hold of the Ashraf Camp since it provides them a good opportunity to withhold the members isolated from the outside world. As far as the Americans are concerned they are just passing time to see what would be the outcome in the future. It seems that they are not certain what to do with them.  Some 600 people have defected from the MKO in Iraq since the collapse of Saddam Hussein while about 400 of them have managed to come back to Iran to their families and start a new life. Around 200 are therefore still with the TIPF alongside Ashraf Camp.

Let’s wish that all these unfortunate people who have been utilised by Mas’ud Rajavi in Iraq against the two great nations of Iraq and Iran as well as their own families who have also suffered through the years missing their beloved ones would soon gain reunion and start a new prosperous life.

Regarding the above mentioned points, and considering humanitarian tendencies, democratic values, and human rights accounts, and bearing in mind the very important fact that according to government of Iraq, in addition to the world community, MKO is categorised as a terrorist Organisation, this Society demands prosecuting and bringing into justice the leaders and officials of the Organisation. We believe that dealing properly with terrorism and giving a trial to the terrorists, is the most desired and logical manner to be adopted. We also believe that using terror is a fascistic method and is in contrast with the human conscience, communal ethics, and wisdom teachings of the contemporary mankind.

We do hope that your efforts and your useful attempts as well as those of the members of the Iraqi Government would pave the way to the trial of the terrorist leaders of MKO, and the rescue of misfortune members kept captive in Iraq. We trust this would bring a hopeful perspective to the world community, particularly the two great nations of Iraq and Iran, to establish a society without violence and terror.

With regards and many thankfulness Nejat Society Tehran, Iran  November 29, 2006
