Memorial of Yaser Akbari Nasab

Yaser, whose numerous requests for leaving the camp/organization have been ignored, finally committed suicide by setting himself on fire sometimes in August 2006. When the MKO officially announced the incident on September 11, 2006, after over a month delay, they claimed that Yaser took his own life in protest to the conditions caused by the U.S. control of the Ashraf.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization's Propaganda System

News Censored by Rajavi’s Gang

Censorship has always been a controlling tool for the leaders in the gang of Rajavi.

Immediately after the Islamic revolution (in 1979), MKO leaders pretended to be boycotting governmental press in order to block their members’ and supporters’ access to free media. This kind of censorship was expanded in the following years and took a different shape when the MKO members were restricted to Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

In this kind of censorship, even two people were banned from talking to each other in private and members were prevented from calling their families.

This situation continues today despite all efforts by humanitarian activists. MKO leaders use censorship to feed the members with selected news and to deceive them with sectarian analyses.

Censorship is so much important for MKO’s Gestapo that they even censor the news reaching MKO supporters and members in Europe in order not to become informed of the news of the outside world.

For instance, in recent weeks, 90 percent of the news directly related to the situation of the group has been censored by the MKO desperately to prevent demoralization of members and their defections.

While the MKO boasts about the false reports on Jalal Talabani’s position against Iran and Syria, his denial (with direct hints to the MKO) and that Iraqi will expel the MKO from Iraq have been censored (Talabani talked about the MKO as the M.M organization, meaning the organization of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi).

Each time the Iraqi officials take stance against the MKO, Remnants of Rajavi hide behind the coalition forces and claim that their fate should be determined by the coalition military, but the censor the comments of Lord Triesman saying that Iraqi government is responsible for deciding about the MKO.

Another example of MKO censorship is about the comments of Raymond Tanter- main MKO supporter whose comments on the group receive great attention in MKO’s media. This time, the MKO censored reports on his interview with the Australian TV channel SBS because Tanter revealed that he supported the group because he wanted the group to be tool for warmongers. He said he didn’t believe in the MKO as an alternative for Iran. His comments showed how discredited the group is.

The stupid propaganda machine of the MKO exaggerates the comments of British Foreign Minister on Iran’s records of human rights while it censors her comments on the group itself!

Mujahedin Khalq as an Opposition Group

MKO’s paradoxical role in the US-Iran Normalization of Relations

To Hooshang Amirahmadi with my best wishes and compliments.

I have since long been informed of your written articles and all-out efforts in bringing the US and Iran together in respect to the existing stalemate in the two countries’ negotiations. Theses efforts in themselves, regardless of ambiguous objectives many individuals and parties try to achieve, can put an end to many existing challenges. In your articles you have generalized a number of influential and key factors that play a substantial role in deterring further negotiation. There is no need to mention them as you have already done in detail. But you should pay much attention to external factors that, for certain reasons, try to escalate the tension between the US and Iran and, unfortunately, you have been non-observant of them. It might have been a deliberate or conservative negligence, I do not intend speculation and casting aspersion, or you were afraid of being labeled as it is common among the opposition. It is not a simple issue to dismiss especially since your main efforts is focused on digging up the roots of dispute to find a solution to ease flexibility from the both sides.

No doubt, the US has taken, unlike the past two or three decades, a rather rational position towards the global issues. The change, before any thing, is the result of the general condition of the developing countries and rise of nationalist movements on the one hand and the US avowal of democratizing the world on the other hand. The impelled change, albeit pretentiously, well distinguishes the present America from that of the past. Observe the difference in the US-run coup d’etat in Chile to topple Allende’s national-elected government and the today’s attempts of freeing Iraqi people from Saddam’s tyranny. The export of democracy to developing countries, I believe, is the other side of militarism; both disregarding peoples’ own will to decide for themselves.

No need to mention these issues as you are well informed. My main word is about the existing crosscurrents that, disguised as opposition, try to escalate the tension between the US and Iran to achieve their own ends. In your articles, you have dealt in detail with the internal deterrents that hinder normalization of relations but you avoid discussing the disruptive role of the opposition and Mojahedin-e Khalq in particular. Not advocating the Islamic Republic’s manner of behavior, I do not expect you to be critical or even opponent of MKO depending on your own opinions. I say that if these deterrents are to be analyzed in general and their supposed interests out of these challenges are delineated, MKO’s role in escalation of the tension should never be overlooked. Are you in doubt that MKO consent to any political bargain on the expense of the country’s national interests? As I have noticed about you, you object to the strategy MKO has adopted. You know better about MKO’s intention when the group urges to compromise with the US. A passing look over its news coverage unveils the fact that the group is doing its best to escalate the tension between the two countries.

An observable evidence to talk about is MKO’s stance in Iran’s nuclear file. How the challenge might be influential in normalization of the relations is an issue of its own concern, but MKO’s distortion of the truth with the help of different media means well indicates the group’s destructive role to aggravate the tension. Do you believe that Mojahedin are really concerned about the global peace and security as they claim? Knowing the answer already and that Mojahedin strive to suggest a military solution to a diplomatic dispute could have provoked you as an activist to unveil the group’s insincere, hidden intentions for the public.

You have certainly seen the letter Mansour Qadrkhah, a member of the NCRI, addressed to George W. Bush wherein he entreated Bush to find a decisive solution against Iran not dismissing the military invasion. The existing gap between such an anti-national vision and your efforts to secure the general national interests should have somehow been an issue of interest to you. I believe it would be off the mark if the internal parties and factions were blamed as the sole deterrents excluding the destructive role of this opposition. The truth being unveiled about the real intention of this opposition, it is possible to demarcate between the nationalist and organizational interests of the activists and those who do object to the normalization of the relations. I think you are well aware, like me, of Mojahedin’s lobbying efforts in the Congress and their round the clock sit-ins. These appeals might produce repercussion on the normalization of relations. I expect you to deal with MKO in the same way you analyze the internal opposition deterrents. Certainly, Mojahedin at some country’s political fluctuations had destructive impact on the procedure of normalizing the ties between Iran and other countries.

It should be also pointed out that Americans are somehow paying for their past flaws. The US extension of apology to Iranian people for their misguided policies including 1953 coup to topple Dr. Mossadiq’s legal government is a rather logical approach for the initiation of any negotiation. At least the Americans acknowledge their past misdoings; the enthusiastic, revolutionary anti-imperialism Mojahedin not only befriend the ex-imperialism enemy but also try to posture as a pro-democratic force to be awarded the legitimacy of an alternative. They have absolutely forgotten, or pretend to, that in many occasions reproached the Islamic Republic for making attempts to reconstruct the relation with the US. They have announced readiness to carry out any plots that the Americans themselves are ashamed to do.

Mojahedin’s only objective to fulfill is to assume political power. It should be a subject of interest to analyze to illuminate the minds who are misguided by the false propagandas of confronting, for instance, fundamentalism or so. I am ready for any further cooperation and dialogue to illuminate your mind on the subject if necessary. Yours

Meeting with Ms. Rachel Litman

Meeting with Ms. Rachel Litman a high ranking member of State Department’s Delegation

On Tuesday, October 9th, the representatives of Habilian Association in a meeting with Ms. Rachel Litman a high ranking member of DOS’s delegation, describing the terror issues in Iran, explained the objectives of the association and the activities done by that. During the meeting, Mr. Hashemi Nejad and Ms. Litman talked together.

Mr. Hashemi Nejad:

Thanks for your time. As you know violence and terrorism is happening all over the world everyday. The terrorism of which our country is one of the victims. We are a group of families and children of those who have been killed by a criminal terrorist group “Mujahedin-e-Khalq- MEK. We have formed a group to demonstrate the dimension of MEK’s crimes and have collected a large number of documents and evidences on the assassinations made by MEK.

Ms. Rachel Litman:

I’m glad to talk with you and I’m sorry for the terrorist events happened in your country killing the innocent people.

Mr. Hashemi Nejad:

When your country along with Western countries came to Middle East with the goal of removing terrorism, it seemed that this disaster would be eradicated from the world. As a survivor of terrorism victims, I got happy of your country’s action, but unfortunately the action ended with dividing the terrorists and protecting them. According to the State Department’s report of 1994, the MEK has killed thousands of innocent people and you are surely informed that a few of them were from your country.

Ms. Rachel Litman:

The group has been restricted and disarmed by US and they don’t have the right to operate and they are designated as a terrorist organization.

Do you claim that the group is under our protection?

Mr. Hashemi Nejad:

The presence of MEK in Iraq while the Iraqi people and government detest them so much (because of their crimes against this country) is absolutely because of the US support of them in order to use them in future. This is the main reason for American support of MEK.

Does your country divide the terrorists into good and bad? Don’t you think that your dual behavior toward our father’s killers caused MKO to find a safe heaven and lobby in US congress and parliament freely? Why do the terrorists contact your representatives and congressmen so freely? How can you justify the support for such terrorist in a country that has designated them as terrorist?

The double standard of your country toward terrorism caused MEK members to contact Human Rights Council in the UNand even lobby that place.

I have the background and speeches made by them in support of terror and also the verdict issued by Interpol to arrest them that I will provide you with some other documents.

Ms. Rachel Litman:

Do you want them to be tried? You mean they must be brought into trial in US or another country or by UN?

Mr. Hashemi Nejad:

Our goal is to fight terrorism and terrorist thinking. We don’t want the other children like us miss their fathers due to the ambitions of some criminals who have killed our people and also their own members.

Ms. Litman:

You should know that in order to achieve your goal, your presence in this meeting is effective. You should try to contact different people and groups describing your activities. Your country and what is happening in your country has the priority for us. Therefore we want the reflexes of your evidences and documents asking you to give information and documents to my government and send me in the future. I will surely transfer your documented evidences to concerned sources and I hope to be contacted with you in order to reflect any thing you give me.

Mr. Hashemi Nejad:

Thanks for your favor. We will give you the documents we have brought and we will complete them in future through the contact way you put toward us.

At the end, some document, evidences and books on MEK presented to Ms. Litman.

German Guarding Department on MEK Leadership

2006, Report

The organization[MEK] wants an absolute resignation and having authority over the whole world. The organization is under the authority of Rajavis couple. The National Liberation Army is ruled by women.

Women’s ruling in NCRI is presented as a model against the Iranian government.

The propaganda for democracy made by the organization toward the outside world is not used inside the organization. A type of leadership system, cult like, around the personality of Maryam and Masud with group obligation and Stalinist Cult leadership and psychological suppression have caused the members to suppress their own individuality in order to achieve their duties. They should obey the order of their leaders without criticizing. The members were even forced to divorce their spouses, by Masud. They were isolated from their families to focus on their duties in MKO completely and without any deviation. Their children has been brought to Western counties and kept in the so-called Children’s Houses.

The management of NCRI is under the authority of long –time women members who have always been responsible to report everything to the leaders completely and continually, in Iraq.

Since they missed their control headquarters in Iraq, the leadership must be under the control of their headquarters in Europe, ei in France.

One of the characteristics of MKO’s leadership is to circulate the members all over the world which is used in any dimension of their work. In the past they often used this circulation to move the female commanders of NLA to European headquarters or their headquarters in North America.

The continual circulation of members makes them not having a specialty in only a type of work so that they are prevented to create another center of power by side of Masud and Maryam. Therefore, in order to circulate members in the world and to keep the hierarchy of leadership and to be safe from Iranian Intelligence Service, they use a series of human smuggling system. They used false identities to smuggle members in the past. They use their supporters’ identities. The members of NLA receive serious military training and also guerrilla warfare training in about 15 camps in Iraq. Their weapons were firstly brought from Iraq. Therefore MKO was depended on Iraqi government and was supported by Iraqi state obviously.

3 conditions for granting refugee status to Mujahedeen

The report of meeting Director of UNHCR’s Middle East Affairs

Habilian association Secretary-General met and talked to Mr. Hamdi Bokhari, Director of UNHCR’s Middle East Affairs, in seat of this organization in Geneva on Friday morning 2006-09-29.

In this meeting Mr. Seyed Javad Hasheminejad, with appreciation of humanitarian activities of this institution, explained the association’s aims and activities and delivered the documents and cultural and investigative productions of association to him that use them for survey and holding in commission.

Mr. Hasheminejad said to Mr. Bokhary:

“We appreciated the role and cooperation of Red Cross in help to return of MKO’s members, who have requested to return their country, in a meeting with one of Red Cross authorities and also thank you and UN to make situation for penitent people of organization to return to their families.

Our group has been formed to struggle with terrorism routs and undoubtedly, one of its ways is remove of MKO terrorist base.

Some bodies claimed that should grant refugee status to Camp Ashraf but in our opinion, it cause to improve terrorism culture. We should make conditions as soon as possible that organization’s members return to their country. About 1500 of members have been returning to Iran during last 15 years and during recent one or two years about 500 persons from total of 4000 Camp Ashraf members, have separated. The fact is that 10 percent of them are criminal and others, according to Iran responsibles remarks, can return to join their families. Although our group was formed to meet hurt families rights from terrorism and follow terrorist crimes but because we also dealing with MKO issue, about 100 of members families contacted us and demanded to help them to return of their children during a last year. I transfer their message and concern to UNHCR. These concerns have increased specially after publish the reports of some sources, such as Human Rights Watch organization, based on torture and imprison of organization members about persons, who demanded to return the country.

I hope some conditions will be prepared for families that can enter Camp to visit their children without organization’s pressure and supervision.

But now, our aim of this meeting is for reveal some rumors about propagandas of Mujahedeen-e Khalq based on that UNHCR have a role in their present status and also know the commission’s future policy in relation to them”.

After that Mr. Hamdi Bokhari praised association’s annual functions and encouraged the members to continue and specially cooperation with commission.

Mr. Bokhari also appreciated and thanked Habilian association because of their attention to the organization members and their return and also that tried to visit and contact them; and at the end of meeting, delivered him different documents and evidences about organization and terror victims.

Director of UNHCR’s Middle East Affairs announced that:

“We don’t have agency, like Red Cross, in Iraq and I work with numbers of our assistances on this issue in here, we accepted that you come and we listen to all things. This is a great process and we are bound to grant refugee status to asylum seekers and our activities are also peaceful, but high commission grant refugee status just to citizenry but Ashraf is a belligerent city and we don’t give refugee to warriors. This method of us is for the entire world; at first they should give their request and the request should be personal not governmental and not be related to any organization but they don’t have these conditions in Ashraf.

These are official militants and being limited protected under Geneva Convention until determination of their status.

There is no difference before and after the war, Saddam might be gave them refugee but now is difference and related to Iraqi government that has given refugee to them. They are under support of US after the war and we didn’t have any interference in this case.

The members of MKO can get refugee status under three conditions:

1. Cutting ties with Mujahedeen-e Khalq organization

Have no relation with any military and terrorist organization

Giving pledge not to return to previous status, it means that Red Cross should guarantee that they don’t return to previous status and there not be any threat for countries.

We were also informed about return of most of them but don’t have any information about numbers of them, we talked about their return with territory countries, like Iran government that if members of this group exit and have conditions, we can help them.

We don’t have any agency in Iraq now, we are negotiating with US. Some of them came personally and gave the request and we are granting refugee status to them, in fact they separated of this group and their refugee is personal and we also speak about them not their organization.

They also themselves like to return but not to Iran and it’ll also change in future.

Your group can be fruit bearing in Iran, we also have close relation with Red Cross because they also try that their members return to their houses.

Your group can help us and Red Cross to return of them, we don’t have access to Iraq’s Red Cross. If they want to return, Red Cross should guarantee it that if they return to Iran, would not be changed to their previous status because if they are deported from Iraq, we wouldn’t know how should help them.

We have a great office in Iran and you can contact and help them to return of them. UN family also likes that terrorism being ended and the world become safe from their activities”.

“Do you know why organization members burned themselves and how people they are?” Mr. Bokhary asked in finally.

“They are unaware and ignorant people that became puppet of criminal leaders and the leaders make them do these actions to win international bodies’ attention and put pressure on humanist institutions.

Claim of granting refugee and some things like that by UN or Red Cross is also a trap that this organization tries to put the international bodies against Iraqi government and use this trap for several”. Mr. Hasheminejad replied

Mujahedin Khalq; A proxy force

A Shameful Support of pro-Saddam Faction

Michael Carmichael, a British professional public affairs consultant, author and broadcaster, in a recently published article World War W, discusses the ridiculous decisions flowing from the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice administration to design, launch and wage World War W. The article further discusses that as the repercussions of a US attack on Iran could well be dire, they are trying a well-financed fifth column of support in Iran, the pro-Saddam faction of Mujaheddin-e-Khalq.

With a budget estimated in published accounts of circa eighty-five million dollars ($85,000,000) per year, the US State Department funds a covert pro-democracy movement inside Ahmadinejad’s Iran. This US-Iran project has been roundly criticized in the US and in the international media for its financial support of the Mujaheddin-e-Khalq (MEK)–an independent militia that has been labeled a terrorist organization for the past twelve years because of its overt links to Saddam Hussein. That dubious distinction does not prevent the MEK from finding warm support in the Republican-dominated Congress. While the right-wing extremists, Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Florida) are the most vocal supporters of the MEK, at least four more members of Congress have also voiced their support for the terrorist militia. Astonishingly and shamefully, three of them are Democrats. These Republican-leaning Democrats are: Edolphus Towns (D-NY); Gary Ackerman (D-NY) and Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas). In addition to these Republicrats, the rabid Republican right-winger Lincoln Diaz Balart of Florida is known to be a supporter of the pro-Saddam faction in Iran.

“The bureaucrat in charge of the vast budget for support of the MEK and other insurgents in Iran”, as he states, “is none other than Dick Cheney’s eldest daughter, Elizabeth Cheney”.
