The day before the group’s rally this year, former MKO members held a press event, which was attended by just one other journalist. The lack of media interest reflects how Europe chooses to ignore the indisputable human rights violations of a group described by former members as a horrific cult.
Pictures the MEK had published described as anti-Iran demonstrations in the streets of major Iranian cities, but when we look closely we can see the pictures are of people celebrating Iran’s qualification to the 2014 World Cup.
Definitely the MKO show in Paris was not an Iranian demonstration at all. The major authorities speaking at the hall were mostly American; the attendees were deceived to take a trip in Paris almost for free. Not a single Iranian except the she-guru of the cult, Maryam Rajavi addressed the crowd because none of the Iranian intellectuals –even those who oppose Islamic Republic – care about the MKO if they do not hate it.
Former members of the MEK held a book sale and picket on 19 June in Cologne to draw attention to the situation of Camp Liberty, and Rajavi’s unchallenged hold on the 3000+ hostages there. They also protested the free hand given to Paris based Maryam Rajavi to promote her terrorist agenda in Europe.
Obsessed with the new political relations that may be formed between the world community and Iran following the election of Dr. Rowhani, the MKO/MEK/PMOI leader Maryam Rajavi made efforts in her speech at the gathering to convince the West that the Iranian election is not a real one and the president elect is not a moderate.

While the Iranian nation was practicing democracy at the polling stations on Friday to elect their new president, the Mujahedin Khalq Organization that has always boycotted the elections in the Islamic Republic seemed to go nuts with the 36 million voters who have no sympathy for the MKO but welcomed the Presidential Elections in Iran.
The announcement of the NCR was allegedly signed by the so-called signatories who signed the group’s announcement against Qasim and Rowhani and according to Hossein nejad 90 percent of them are currently in Iraq so they were absent at the NCR’s meeting held in Paris! Therefore, no challenge and criticism was posed in the meeting.
The group authorities annually spend large amounts of money to hire speakers and attendees for the gathering of June. You may want to take a look at the audience in the MKO gatherings to get to know about the number of Iranians and non-Iranians present there!
