Duplicity of the MEK nature

The Show of Democracy in the Cult of Rajavi

The so-called election of the secretary general in the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ MEK/ the Cult of Rajavi) was once more a masquerade show to cover the true face of the group in the eyes of the outside world and at the same time served as a distractor for the minds of those individuals who are kept against their will inside the cult.

The approach adopted by the MKO in the so-called election is so ambiguous that no one can define the role of the elected secretary general and the differences between the authority of her and that of the disappeared leader Massoud Rajavi and even that of the alleged “president-elect” Maryam Rajavi. The election is seemingly a performance of democracy rather than an authentic act of democracy in the cult of Rajavi.

Actually the MKO meets all criteria of a cult of personality around the character of the Rajavis. In a cult-like structure, the establishment is founded on a dictatorship not a democracy. The regulations of a Cult of Personality is not based on elections and democratic principles but it is based on the absolute power of one single person, the leader on top of a hierarchy of senior members and the rank and file.

People in leadership positions in political arenas should be expected to always act in accordance to the rules of the establishment, and to the principles for which democracy is supposed to stand, and should never use their fame and public image as an item to create the illusion they are behaving morally, ethically, and in a principled manner, while doing the exact opposite. Maryam and her disappeared husband Massoud Rajavi are the only ones in the MKO hierarchy that do not obey the rules of the group. They are idols that their “virtues” are constantly repeated for their followers.

The Rajavis were married while mandatory celibacy was the rule all members of the group had to obey. They were able to have relationships with the other sex while the rank and file had to live separately, even the gas station in Camp Ashraf was scheduled to be used by men and women in different hours of day. Maryam Rajavi is the only women in the Cult of Rajavi who can choose her clothing by her free will. She is usually seen in a variety of colors while other female members are supposed to wear uniforms, and Hijab is obligatory…

Thus in such an undemocratic structure, election is mockery.  The absurdity of such an election is also understood in the type of the process by which Zahra Merikhi was elected. This is the election process described by the MKO’s own website: “In the first such assembly on Aug. 20, an initial 12 candidates were introduced, of whom four reached the next stage, with Merrikhi receiving a majority of the votes. At the second assembly two weeks later, senior MEK officials and cadres cast their ballots for the final four candidates, with Merrikhi leading the vote tally again. At the third and final assembly last Wednesday, all members raised their hands and unanimously elected Merrikhi.”

According to the group’s media in the first phase of the elections Merrikhi has received “a majority of the votes”. Some sources of the group say 86 percent. This means that she has not had the 100 percent approval of the whole members, regarding that the two first phases of voting were held with ballot boxes and the voters have had their private votes so it was natural that some of the rank and file dared to state their opinion against Merrikhi. The third and final assembly was like a joke where “all members raised their hands and unanimously elected Merrikhi”. The Cult of Rajavi implies that not even one single person had an absentee vote let alone a vote against the “elected” secretary general!

Ludicrously, the group propaganda journalist Majid Rafizadeh claims that the Cult of Rajavi “enjoys prowess and cohesion to elect a new secretary general”. Rafizadeh who seems to be so excited about the alleged elections in his cult, as an extra-ordinary phenomenon, boasts, “In short, Iran’s opposition election demonstrates process, structure, depth of leadership ranks and a genuine and practical commitment to gender equality, especially in leadership positions.” Mr. Rafizadeh should be told that the cohesion that the MKO enjoys is absolutely originated in the coercive indoctrination system of the Cult.

Actually, commitment to gender equality is a tool to ensure an environment that supports social justice to empower women in the society. Women in the Cult of Rajavi, isolated from the free world, deprived from marriage and having child, deprived from choosing their life style, their type of clothing and many other basic rights of a human being, miss the least support that ensures social justice for them.

As a matter of fact, personality cults are dangerous and detrimental to democracy. The recent show in the MKO’s headquarters in Tirana, Albania was called by Maryam Rajavi “as a brilliant election, embodying the height of democracy, cohesion, and growth in the PMOI” but it was indeed just a democratic gesture for the outsiders and an entertainment for the insiders.

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – 203

++ Among the reactions to Zahra Merrikhi’s appointment as head of the MEK, some commentators remind us this is the fourth time a Secretary General has been announced. The first time was when Massoud Rajavi introduced Maryam as Secretary General of the MEK and everyone immediately asked, ‘then who are you’? He told everyone to shut up because it was never actually in question that he is in control of everything. In view of this, commentators say, this title means nothing. Nothing changes, just the names. The reality is that dead or alive the cult is based on him; there is no ‘election’ the whole group is based on his name. Some commentators scoffed ‘with this ridiculous appointment they dare to criticise elections in Iran and other places!’ Mehdi Khoshhal’s article, titled ‘The Albanian Zorba’, compares the scene from the film in which the village women gather outside the brothel of Madame Hortense as she is dying in order to take her belongings. Now that Massoud Rajavi is dead, the women of the MEK are queuing like vultures, waiting to get something from him for themselves.

++ In Albania, after the MEK said it would no longer pay UNHCR allowances to the former members, seventy people visited the UN office to demand their right to get their refugee allowances directly. Others have joined the protest to the point that Maryam Rajavi withdrew the threat and her lawyers have told the UN there had been a mistake and that the UN didn’t need to do anything as the MEK would pay the money in full to the formers.

Naturally the ex-members say they don’t trust the MEK and they continue their demand to be paid directly. The formers planned a demonstration outside the RAMSA office, but the Interior Ministry refused permission. The formers – through their lawyer – told the ministry and Albanian newspapers that they would ‘go ahead anyway and the police can arrest and imprison us’. On the day of the planned demonstration, the UN told the formers’ lawyer ‘don’t let them demonstrate, instead they should open bank accounts and we will pay them’. The lawyer – who is working pro bono – responded that ‘if the UNHCR does not do this, we will take them to court and they will have to pay the court fees and my fees on top of whatever allowances are owed to the former members.’

++ Meanwhile, since this situation developed, MEK henchmen have been stationed outside the UN office in Tirana supported by members of the Albanian security services. Their role is to intimidate any former MEK member who goes in and out of the building. However, in articles by ex-members, they say that the fear has spilled, they are no longer afraid. ‘Tactics like taking our pictures, filming us and threatening us have no effect. We will not stop until we get our rights.’

++ Every several months, Radio France Culture has a ridiculous interview with Maryam Rajavi about feminism or women’s rights etc, which everyone knows is paid advertising. After one such interview this week, some female ex-members wrote an open letter to the radio station asking them to respect the right to respond. They said, ‘for every ten interviews with Maryam Rajavi could you please broadcast at least one line from the ex-members in answer to three or four questions about how Rajavi treated women members inside the MEK. Zahra Mirbagheri, who suffered massively inside the MEK, has accused Radio France Culture of destroying the reputation of French human rights advocacy just for a few pennies. ‘You should not broadcast an advert without saying it is an advert’, says Mirbagheri. ‘And if you do, you still can’t, by law, tell lies in adverts, there has to be some truth in what is said.’

++ It has just emerged that Maryam Rajavi has written personally to the UNHCR in Geneva about the issue of refugee allowances. In her letter, she mentioned ‘a petition with 70 names’. The lawyer of several former MEK members and Sahar Family Foundation responded, saying ‘we must investigate how this petition, which was given directly to the UNHCR in Tirana, has been seen by Maryam Rajavi. This is a sign of corruption. The fact that immediately after the announcement of a demonstration by these formers, she did a 180 degree turn and now says there has been a mistake shows there are plots and collusion against the ex-members. The fact that the UN has now had to deal directly with the formers and couldn’t work to her agenda has exposed the corruption within this system.

In English:

++ Iran Interlink marked the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy by reminding us of the MEK’s reaction. Massoud Rajavi gathered his forces and celebrated the horrifying act of terrorism. He told his followers he believed they could do better!

++ Sahar Family Foundation published a petition which had been presented to RAMSA – the department responsible for the former MEK members at the UNHCR office in Tirana. The demands are:

  1. Our refugee allowances be paid by RAMSA and we be supported by the United Nations in Albania
  2. Work permits and jobs are granted to us in order that we are able to support ourselves.
  3. Our Refugee Status is officially issued in order that we can receive our righteous benefits.

++ A Nejat Society article says the MEK is losing support as those who lobby for them – such as John Bolton – are themselves losing traction in the political scene in America.

++ Habilian Association has written an expose on the “Republicans’ favourite Democrat’, Joseph Lieberman. The article runs through his background, identifying him as a neocon associated with AIPAC and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Lieberman opposed the nuclear deal with Iran and has taken a staunchly anti-Iran stance on every issue including Syria and Iraq. The article points to Liberman’s advocacy of the MEK but says “While Lieberman, General Jones, and Colonel Martin all failed categorically to accurately describe the true nature of the MEK terrorists they seek to support in a proxy war with Iran, the US policy papers these three lobbyists are reading from have done so and in great detail.”

Former MEK members petition the UNHCR in Albania

Some nearly 70 former members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization yesterday approached the UNHCR in Albania (RAMSA) with a petition signed by all of them demanding their rights.

RAMSA officials who met with these individuals – who are protesting against their refugee allowances being cut by the MEK – said they are following up the issue with Geneva and there will be an urgent meeting about the case.

The individuals told the officials that over the coming days they would, of course with more people, continue coming to their offices until their rights are restored and that they will not give in.

The RAMSA officials accepted the fact that the MEK has acted against the commitments made in an agreement in Geneva. Presumably the organization did not expect so many defectors. In addition, there are many more inside the group who wish to leave.

The text of the petition handed over to RAMSA is as follows:

Petition to the UNHCR and the Albanian ministry of interior affairs

In the name of Human Rights and in the name of Asylum seeking

We, a number of Iranian refugees in Albania and former members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO …), would like to address all related organs and draw their attentions to our cause.

We accepted the humanitarian invitation by the time Albanian government in cooperation with the USA and the UNHCR in Albania (RAMSA) and moved to this country after being expelled from Iraq.

We decided willingly to dispatch from the MEK and we wish to live freely on our own outside the organization.

We learned that apparently according to some possible agreements between the UNHCR and the MEK, the refugee allowances of the former members should be paid by the MEK directly.

The Organization started paying us 45000 Leks (Albanian currency) and this was made up to September 2017.

But surprisingly the Organization informed us recently that from the coming month no allowances will be paid to us and we can complain to the RAMSA if we wish.

It is worth mentioning that not being able to receive the money means a grave economical difficulty, and consequently psychological pressure, to the refugees who have left the MEK and would make the life impossible for us, since we are not Albanian citizens but refugees who have no financial support what so ever.

Therefore we urge the related organs including the RAMSA and the interior ministry to meet the below demands:

  1. Our refugee allowances be paid by RAMSA and we be supported by the United Nations in Albania
  2. Work permits and jobs are granted to us in order that we are able to support ourselves.
  3. Our Refugee Status is officially issued in order that we can receive our righteous benefits.

Many Thanks and regards

Mujahedin Khalq Organization's Propaganda System

The MKO Losing Lobbies?

It has been near two decades that the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ MEK/ the Cult of Rajavi) has been inflaming fears of a nuclear Iran to bolster its case in the international community. It has been constantly claiming that the Tehran government has an ongoing WMD program. The group and its supporters in the American warmonger think-tanks strived to call on the West for a war against Iran. However, the US, Europe and Iran ultimately reached an agreement over the Iranian nuclear program in 2015.

The American sponsors of the Cult of Rajavi such as John Bolton and Rudy Giuliani help to raise the profile and legitimize the aims of the group that will not bring democracy to Iran and has no popular support in the country. Bolton provides no good reason for a regime change in Iran after the P5+1 nuclear deal, insisting simply that it is a long-term solution in his view.  The MKO supporters want to have the United States install the MKO as Iran’s new government. That would mean war although the MKO denies seeking violent regime change, but the only conceivable way it could become the next government in Tehran would be at the head of a U.S. military invasion.

After the election of Donald Trump, the MKO and its advocates increased their efforts to obstruct the nuke deal. However, it seems that the group is losing grounds in the US administration despite hefty investments on its lobbies. John Bolton, a former US ambassador to the UN who at one point was a candidate to lead the State Department, claimed in a National Review op-ed that his plan for the US to exit the Iran nuclear deal had to be presented publicly, because staff changes at the White House have made”presenting it to President Trump impossible.”

While the MKO’s propaganda website publishes John Bolton’s plan for “How to get out of the Iran nuclear deal”, it ignores the fact that its paid sponsor is barred from entering the White House. Donald Trump seems to be learning that bullying towards Iran and other signatories of the JCPOA does not work anymore.

Bolton was a promoter of the war in Iraq. As George W.Bush’s undersecretary of state in late 2002, he claimed that Saddam Hussein has hidden weapons of mass destruction and production facilities in Iraq, something that was never verified. He was allegedly seeking to build a democracy in Iraq. He is now dreaming of his so-called democracy for Iran.

“Bolton is hardly the only former official, retired officer, or ex-politician to do this, but for the last several years he has been a vocal cheerleader of the Mujahideen-e Khalq cult (and “former” terrorist group) and its political organization,” Daniel Larison of the American Conservative asserts. “He has been consistently misrepresenting a totalitarian cult as a “democratic” Iranian opposition group. When Bolton or someone else with this record talks about “vigorous American support for Iran’s opposition,” we can be fairly sure that he means that the U.S. should be backing the MEK in its quest for seizing power in Iran.”

Larison accurately concludes that Bolton’s judgment about the MKO is “extremely poor”. He also suggests that Iran hawks such as Bolton are really “oblivious to the political realities inside Iran”. “Once again we have a hawkish demand for U.S. support for an exile group that has absolutely no support in its own country in order to achieve regime change”, He writes. “Indeed, the group that Bolton has been helping to promote is widely loathed in Iran for good reason and has no credibility at all with the domestic political opposition. It is Bolton’s embrace of the MEK as much as anything else that ought to discredit his views on Iran policy.”

In fact, after the relocation in Albania, the MKO is facing major problems. First of all is the increasing rise in the number of members who wish to leave the group. Thus, the group leader has to spend too much energy to maintain its hegemony over members. According to reports from inside the cult, Maryam Rajavi has to hold private manipulation meetings in order to convince the rank and file to stay in the group. Besides, the MKO is also endeavoring to find a place in the political scene of the region receiving its paid sponsors including American Congressmen in Albania. But, seemingly, the views of the MKO sponsors are discredited in the US government. The MKO is fast losing its opportunities in the land of opportunities as well as in its own headquarters.

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – 202

++ In Albania this week the MEK staged an event to mark the 52nd anniversary of the foundation of the organisation. Maryam Rajavi, of course, talked about her ten-point plan for women and appointed Zahra Merrikhi as head of the MEK. A lot of money was spent on make-up and clothes and crowds but the event attracted no media coverage except among interested former members’ websites. It did prompt reaction from some Farsi observers. These say that Rajavi’s presence in Albania is needed to save the organisation because it’s collapsing. They also point out that ‘there is no Central Committee or a governing body just a cult leader, how can you come up with this show of voting for a Secretary General?’ Some have reminded us that Zahra Merrikhi was an MEK torturer under the Mokhabarat at the time of Saddam. Similarly, Saddam had 100% votes when he held elections.

++ A glance at the statistics in Albania reveal that although Rajavi has travelled there to save the MEK, the rate of disaffection is accelerating. There are just over one persons per week now leaving the group. The MEK, openly backed by the CIA, is pushing desperately for the Albanian Interior Ministry to give the go ahead to relocate the members to a closed camp in a rural area in the north of the country. Until now the ministry has resisted, fearing the establishment of yet another non-accountable CIA base in the country.

++ After Manouchehr Abdi escaped the MEK last week and had an interview with Albania’s Gazeta Impakt, the MEK has been on overdrive to make others afraid of talking. The MEK told all separated members that the money they get from the UNHCR will be stopped immediately unless they prove their loyalty. But they don’t know how to do this because they are already not talking to anyone. The MEK is on overdrive to disseminate misinformation about Abdi saying he had been a member of the MOIS from the start and had infiltrated the MEK 13 years ago. Ironically, to prove these revelations, they published a ‘confession’ that he had signed accepting that he is an agent of the Iranian regime etc, etc, back-dated to a long time ago. Today, Abdi talked with Mardom TV in Washington for three hours, going into the details of what the MEK did to him and what they are doing now to him and his family.

++ Saber from Tabriz wrote an article for Iran Interlink about the MEK’s 52nd anniversary. “Whatever you say, none of you can claim to be the descendants of the MEK’s founders. You showily gift a book listing your anti-Imperialist martyrs to John McCain, but this doesn’t translate into Farsi does it.” In another piece, Saber gives examples critical of the MEK. “I knew ‘martyr’ Aram Goftari because he’s from our locality. You claim he is one of your martyrs. Don’t you remember when he wanted to leave and you kept him by force. Then his wife, Marzieh Ghorsi and their little baby managed, to escape from you. All she had as the blood money of her husband was $70 and two decades of you spending money on character assassination to prove she is a bad person. The people you bring to your events and present this book with his name in it, get $70,000 for half an hour’s chat. This is where you stand with the people of Iran.”

In English:

Habilian Association and Tasnim News say ‘MEK rightfully named father of ISIS’. Tracing the evolution of anti-Iran terrorist activity from the MEK to ISIS, the article says “Iran is a victim of terrorism. This is not just a claim or a political motto; It is a part of our country’s historical reality. Terrorism is a serious threat, not only to our country, but also to the whole world. It is a tool for anti-popular groups and a chance for some states to spread terror and disrupt peace and security of people.”

++ Sahar Family Foundation met with officials of the UN in Albania to talk about the situation of separated members. The UNHCR’s Refugee and Migrant Services are directly responsible for 230 MEK members who are kept in a location in the Port of Dorsa by the MEK. There are a further 240 formers who have completely left the group and their situation is particularly harrowing. The UNHCR pays their refugee allowances directly to the MEK which, of course, does not pass any money to them. In the context of this dissolution, Sahar concluded “Reports indicate that the recent meeting between Maryam Rajavi and the American senators in Tirana took place because of the recent unexpected deterioration of the organization’s situation in Albania. And that it was also due to pressure from the Albanian government which has complained that the promises made by America previously had not been fulfilled. It is reported that the Senators’ meeting was a kind of impeachment of Maryam Rajavi for not controlling the members and for allowing concerns to be raised throughout Albania.”

++ Sahar translated extracts from the interview of Manouchehr Abdi with Gazeta Impakt in Tirana. Abdi escaped the MEK last week and was keen to speak about his experience of the group.

“SFF: after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and the disarmament of the organization by the US military, and finally the departure of the group from Iraq that resulted in losing the Iranian border, how do the group authorities maintain the hope of regime change in the minds of members?

“M.A.: the group authorities, particularly the leader told members: ‘the army of uprising is still alive in Iran and you are the officers of this army! Your soldiers are those youngsters of revolt who are awaiting a spark. The moment the uprising occurs we will get on the plane to reach Iran in order to organize the uprising.’”

SFF interviews an MKO survivor in Albania

Sahar Family Foundation interview with Manouchehr Abdi who has recently left the Cult of Rajavi in Tirana, Albania. The interview has been partly translated.

SFF: Mr. Abdi, Thank you for your time. Please introduce yourself.

Manouchehr Abdi: I’m Manouchehr Abdi. I was born in 1341, I’m married and have a daughter. I spent 14 years of my life in the Cult of Rajavi. When I was in Tehran I wanted to immigrate to abroad. My friends told me about the MKO. They said that the organization was in Iraq and would help me go to Europe. Once I joined the MKO in Iraq, I had no way out any more […] When we were relocated in Albania I could manage to contact my family by the help of one of the defectors of the group but the group authorities got to know, so, they punished me. I was suppressed because according to the MKO rules, contacting your family is a crime […]

SFF: when you were in Iraq, did you know about the families who were picketing in front of the gates of camp Liberty or Camp Ashraf? What was the group’s reaction? How did you feel at the time?

M.A: I remember those days. The group authorities used to label the families as agents of Iranian Intelligence and mercenaries. They made the residents throw rocks against the families and insult them. Everyone who did not obey their order, would be punished in the meetings. Members were really upset that they had to throw rocks at a group of old men and women or any other person who had come to visit their beloveds […]

SFF: after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and the disarmament of the organization by the US military, and finally the departure of the group from Iraq that resulted in losing the Iranian border, how do the group authorities maintain the hope of regime change in the minds of members?

M.A.: the group authorities, particularly the leader told members: “the army of uprising is still alive in Iran and you are the officers of this army! Your soldiers are those youngsters of revolt who are awaiting a spark. The moment the uprising occurs we will get on the plane to reach Iran in order to organize the uprising.”

SFF: what prohibits people from leaving the group? How many people do you think have decided to stay in the group with their own free will?

M.A.: Members do not dare to leave the group because they have been under the most horrible mind-control system for years. Once we have been resettled in Albania, they tried to frighten us about the outside world […] I think those who are still in the MKO think that they are under the arrest warrant of the Interpol or the Islamic Republic. Some others who are elderlies suppose that they are too old to leave the group and to begin a new life […]

SFF: what are the main questions in the minds of the group’s members? Do the authorities answer their questions?

M.A.: Their main questions are these ones: Now that we are disarmed and far from Iranian border, what are we doing here? Why are we staying here far from Iraq- that once it was the center of struggle as you said. Of course, whenever you ask these questions you are punished by the authorities. Another taboo was to ask about the whereabouts of Massoud Rajavi. No body dared to ask.

SFF: what is the approach of the authorities towards those who want to leave the group in Tirana?

M.A.: The conditions for defectors of the group in Tirana is very tragic. Having had clandestine agreements with the UNHCR, the group enslaves members by confiscating the monthly payments that the UN pays to political refugees despite the fact that a political refugee can be free in the country where he is granted refuge […]

If you want to leave the group, you will endure the most severe brainwashing sessions. If you don’t change your mind you will be kept in solitary confinement for a month. During this one month they will use various mental tortures in order to keep you in the group.

SFF: what is your idea about Maryam Rajavi’s recent trips to Albania? What do members think about her recent visits with American warmongers who supported ISIS?

M.A.: Maryam Rajavi’s trips to Albania are due to recent increasing rise in the process of defection from the group. In addition, she has to explain about the Americans who visit the group in Albania. Members wonder how the group spends millions of dollars to invite and receive the Americans in Albania while they are not given the least money for their basic needs like medicine or health-care […]

SFF: How do you see the current and the future situation of the group?

M.A.: The main problem of the MKO is the increase in defections. The authorities have to spend a lot of energy to prevent members from leaving. The organization is losing its capacity, it is expired, and no future is seen for it except its collapse.

SFF: Are the people of Albania concerned about the presence of the MKO in their territory? What is their reaction?

M.A.: In the neighborhood of the group’s base in Tirana, all neighbors were unhappy. They were concerned as if we were members of ISIS. […]

SFF: how do the HCR and the Albanian Interior Ministry deal with the case of defectors of theMKO?

M.A: The HCR and the government of Albania do not admit any responsibility regarding the problems of the defectors. The MKO has deals with them. They have been paid heavy bribes.

SFF: what is your message for families of MKO hostages, for other defectors and for those who are still imprisoned in the group?

M.A: I ask the families of the cult hostages not to retreat. They should continue their efforts in the international community to pressure the group, to break the bars around their children. I also tell the rank and file inside the cult — If they could hear me. I’d like to tell them that I was like them, at first. I even couldn’t imagine that I would survive outside the group, but now I’m here, I’m free.  That’s enough for me. I just want to tell them: This organization is a liar. It’s unjust and hypocrite. Don’t waist life for nothing!

SFF:” Thanks for your time. We hope prosperity and success for you and all survivors of the cult of Rajavi. We also hope freedom and salvation for all those who are taken as hostages in the cult.

M.A: I do appreciate you and Sahar Family Foundation for the opportunity you gave me to reveal a very small part of atrocities of the cult of Rajavi. […] It was just a slight part of the crimes the MKO committed. The MKO is the biggest mafia of this century.

Meeting with an official in the Albanian UNHCR (RAMSA)

In a meeting between the UNHCR in Tirana – Refugee and Migrant Services in Albania – and Sahar Family Foundation, an official spoke about the situation of the families of members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK aka Rajavi cult) and the former members of the group. He told Sahar that there are currently around 230 MEK members who wish to separate from the organization in Tirana. Some of them are kept in a location in the Port of Dorsa in Albania by the MEK.

These individuals, despite Maryam Rajavi’s threats and promises, refuse to stay with the cult under any circumstances and are determined to gain their freedom no matter what the cost. Maryam Rajavi has threatened that they will not get any allowances once they leave. Clearly the cult wishes to keep them from having any contact, even visual contact, with the current members because it is feared their presence in Tirana living outside the organization would negatively affect the remaining members, leading to more disaffection.

In the meeting, Sahar explained to the official that there are currently some 240 individuals living outside the group for whom the MEK had previously made an agreement with the UNHCR to distribute their allowances. However, some time ago the cult started to cut this allowance for some individuals using various excuses. Now the MEK has told all these individuals that it will no longer pay anything to anyone anymore. This move has provoked strong objections and complaints among the former members. It has also flagged up serious concerns in the government and among the citizens of Tirana who are sensitive to the bizarre behaviour of this group.

The official explained that RAMSA will hold an urgent meeting this month to deal with the situation of the former members and said he was hopeful that positive decisions would be made to support those who had left the MEK in Tirana. The MEK had already informed RAMSA that they will not pay anything to those who have left the organization.

The other matter discussed, which they seemingly knew about, was that some current members of the group, although they have signed loyalty agreements to stay with the MEK, have insisted that they will leave the group if there is any talk about moving to another isolated location similar to Ashraf Garrison in Iraq. The official confessed that the MEK is experiencing a dreadful situation in Tirana and that conditions are getting worse day by day and are becoming unbearable for the members.

Accepting the risk of not being able to return to Paris, Maryam Rajavi made her second trip to Albania to sort out the catastrophic situation of the group and ease the internal tensions and persuade people to move to the remote base.

Everyone who is even slightly familiar with the situation of the Rajavi cult in Albania agrees that the MEK is very rapidly falling apart. Many have witnessed that during the past year more deleterious developments have occurred inside the group than in all those years in Iraq, and many believe that this is due to the efforts made by the families and the former members.

Reports indicate that the recent meeting between Maryam Rajavi and the American senators in Tirana took place because of the recent unexpected deterioration of the organization’s situation in Albania. And that it was also due to pressure from the Albanian government which has complained that the promises made by America previously had not been fulfilled. It is reported that the Senators’ meeting was a kind of impeachment of Maryam Rajavi for not controlling the members and for allowing concerns to be raised throughout Albania.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

MEK rightfully named father of ISIS

Representing families of Iranian victims of terrorism, Habilian Association organized a conference themed “Iran victim of terrorism; From MEK to ISIS” on the occasion of national day of combating terrorism on August 30. Following is the full text of Habilian’s Statement read in the conference on behalf of families of Iranian victims of terrorism:

In the name of God

Iran is a victim of terrorism. This is not just a claim or a political motto; It is a part of our country’s historical reality. Terrorism is a serious threat, not only to our country, but also to the whole world. It is a tool for anti-popular groups and a chance for some states to spread terror and disrupt peace and security of people.

Since the 1st day after the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran has fell victim to terrorism; As streets and alleys of our country’s cities have witnessed the blood of 17000 of their best men and women spilled on the ground.

Anti-Revolution groups from the Mujahedin-e Khalq organization (MEK, MKO, NCRI, PMOI, etc) to groups with separatist claims which conducted brutal and savage terrorist acts in the name of people, and their followers today, have continued the same terrorist approach with the excuse of religious disputes. Regarding to its long record of terrorist activities, MEK could be rightfully named as the father of ISIS.

Terrorism in Iran has been a phenomenon without border which has encompassed all people; From government officials to civilians, politicians, scientists, innocent women and children, border guards, scholars and clerics, Shias and Sunnis have all been on the terror list.

But today we see Iran, one of the biggest victims of terrorism in the world, named as a state-sponsor of terrorism as a result of poisonous propaganda of imperialist states and anti-Iran groups. This goes on until where there is no place in the so-called human rights reports of the UN for the assassination of an Iranian 4-year-old kid or a 70-year-old man by terrorist groups.

We, families of Iranian victims of terrorism, believe to achieve a world without violence and terror in all aspects, there is a need for a strong determination by international communities comprised of all countries. We also believe it is necessary to remind the global community and international entities that terrorism could be stopped by on-time reactions and remaining committed to international obligations and protesting bullying and one-sided policies of great powers.
