According to released reports approved by officials from the two nations, the U.S. and Iran will hold rare meetings within the next few weeks in Baghdad to discuss the dominant disorder and insurgency in Iraq,
But there is a big question mark here. Among the many questions imposed by Iranian side concerning Iraq would be the US forces’ supporting of a terrorist group blacklisted by its own State Department. If the both countries are indeed concerned about the troubled situation in Iraq, first they should deal with the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq or the Mojahedin cult that has long threatened the security of certain Iraqi regions.
The Iranian side might at least require the US officials to respect the facts they have released on MKO in the State Department’s 30 April report on the designated terrorist organizations. It is a good opportunity for the US to show its good-will and that the actions speak louder than the words.
