There are increasing indications that the anti-Iranian Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization, known as the MEK or MKO, is working with al-Qaida to topple the U.S.-backed Iraqi government, even though it seeks to be removed from the U.S. State Department’s terror list, according to a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

Maryam Sanjabi, a former ringleader of the MKO aka MEK/PMOI, said based on the agreements held between MKO ringleaders and Iraq’s officials in 1987, Saddam’s regime allocated the revenues gained from selling 50,000 barrels per day of oil to the MKO in addition to arms and logistic support.

A leading member of the Kurdistan Coalition in the Iraqi Parliament on Monday denounced allegations by some Iraqi authorities of the Kurdish officials having contact with the Mujahedin-e Khalq, calling Kurds as “the major victim of MKO’s presence in Iraq.”

Leader of Mustaqbal party of Iraqi Kurdistan said: “MKO/MEK/PMOI is a terrorist group which is not only the enemy of Iranian nation but also a hostile to Iraqi people and especially the Kurds. Furthermore, they have had a direct impact on suppression of our people in Saddam’s time.”..
“The Istekhbarat (security) service of Iraq always considered the MKO as one of its subordinate units and a subdivision of Istekhbarat and was present in all high-level meetings of the MKO/MEK/PMOI as the dominating side,”Hosseinnejad said.
Iraq’s Ambassador to Algeria said that his country is no longer willing to tolerate MKO aka MEK/PMOI on its soil, adding that the main reason of that is “their cooperation with Baathist forces to repress 1991 Iraqi Intifada.”The 1991 revolts in the Kurdish north and the Shia south were a series of anti-Saddam rebellions in southern and northern Iraq crushed by Saddam’s private army (MKO) and Baathist forces.
There are many misconceptions about the MEK/MKO/PMOI so I checked in with several Iranian born experts on Iran. All of them are distressed that American politicians are advocating for the MEK. They also doubt that the money paid to the politicos comes from the Iranian Diaspora because most expatriate Iranians do no support the MEK.. a Washington political consultant, said,”The MEK is a terrorist group. It is a cult of religious automatons. ..
