Zeinab Taleb-Jedi, 51, was indicted Friday by a federal grand jury in New York on one count of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

Any statements or declarations made by Iraqi nationals in Iraq about the legal and political status of the”People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran”, also known as the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) inside Iraq, are a matter for the Government of Iraq. The MEK is proscribed in the United Kingdom under the Terrorism Act 2000.
During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Taleb-Jedi was discovered by coalition forces in an MEK training camp called Ashraf Base, which is 65 kilometers northwest of Baghdad. The MEK, also known as the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, was first designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department in 1997.

The documents, obtained from Brooklyn court files on Monday, say two confidential informants in Iraq identified Zeinab Taleb-Jedi, 51, as a leader of the Mujahedeen Khalq. The group was identified in court papers as Mujahedin-e Khalq.
Al-Ittihad newspaper earlier quorted PUK officials announcing that they had found audio tapes of chemical Ali, in which he orders the MKO to attack Iraqi citizens. There’s no doubt that the issue of MKO crimes against the Kurds will be discussed in this court.

The MeK ‘threat’ is an ageing – average age around 50 years – and disillusioned group of slaves numbering less than 3,000, who have been camped out in the Iraqi desert for over two decades and who are now waiting to be rescued from the cult.
