Iraq must do more to stop the country being used as a base for foreign militants seeking to destabilise its neighbours, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Chalabi said in comments published on Monday…Chalabi said Britain raised tension in the area by accusing Iran of helping Iraq militants to plant roadside bombs which killed British troops. Iraqi deputy prime minister, said: “Iraq acknowledged Iran’s “legitimate concern” about the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), an armed Iranian opposition group under US protection in Iraq under what he called “murky circumstances”.
Mr. Aliamrdan, who’s visiting Iran with an Iraqi group, said in a meeting with MKO terrorist activities’ victims that he and his family were also the victims of crimes by this group, so that the wounds on his body are still evident.
Iraq’s National Security Advisor criticized the presence of MKO in Iraq and stressed that those members of this group who have committed terrorist crimes should be put on trial.
