Mujahedin Khalq Organization

Former U.S. base opened to MEK terrorist group

Camp Liberty, which housed U.S. troops in Iraq up until a few months ago, is now open to house members of the State Department-designated foreign terrorist organization known as the Former U.S. base opened to MEK terrorist groupMujahedeen e-Khalq (MEK). But MEK leaders haven’t decided they’re ready to move in just yet.

"The U.S. has and continues to welcome and support the peaceful temporary relocation and eventual permanent resettlement of the residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq," said Ambassador Dan Fried, the State Department’s special advisor on Camp Ashraf, currently home to several thousand MEK members. "Our purpose is humanitarian. We welcomed the signing of the [Memorandum of Understanding] last Christmas Day between the Iraqi government and the U.N. This MOU charts a peaceful way forward."

The document set into writing the Iraqi government’s decision to delay the closure of Camp Ashraf, where up to 3,200 members of the MEK have been living for years. The Iraqi government had promised to close Camp Ashraf in December but agreed to push back that date for six months.

Baghdad also agreed to ensure the safe treatment of the MEK members, who fear and distrust the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

"At this new location, the U.N. High Commission for Refugees will be able to conduct refugee status determinations for the residents of Ashraf — a necessary first step toward resettlement to third countries," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Dec. 25. "We are encouraged by the Iraqi government’s willingness to commit to this plan, and expect it to fulfill all its responsibilities, especially the elements of the MOU that provide for the safety and security of Ashraf’s residents."

The facility has now been officially renamed Camp Hurriya (Arabic for "freedom") and the first MEK members can now go there, Fried said. The United Nations announced on Jan. 31 that the facilities at Camp Liberty now meet international humanitarian standards and are ready to receive Camp Ashraf’s residents.

"In any move of this kind and in the early days, once people are settling into Hurriya, problems may arise, of course," he said. "Patience, goodwill, and willingness to resolve logistical issues in a practical way will be critical."

But no members of the MEK have yet made the move, despite the extensive efforts of the United States and the United Nations to get their new home ready and to convince the Iraqi government to support the move.

"The residents of Camp Ashraf must make the decision to start this relocation process. Camp Ashraf is no longer a viable home for them. They have no secure future there," said Fried.

The Marxist-Islamist group, which was formed in 1965, was used by deposed Iraqi autocrat Saddam Hussein to attack the Iranian government during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, and has been implicated in the deaths of U.S. military personnel and civilians.

The new Iraqi government has been trying to evict them from Camp Ashraf since the United States toppled Saddam in 2003. The U.S. military guarded the outside of the camp until handing over external security to the Iraqis in 2009. The Iraqi Army has since tried twice to enter Camp Ashraf, resulting in bloody clashes with the MEK.

Camp Hurriya is only meant to be a temporary home for the MEK. From there, its members could elect to go back to Iran or move on to a third country, if they have residency there. The United States will help certain MEK members apply for refugee status on a case by case basis.

Fried urged the MEK to make the decision to move to Camp Hurriya, and he asked the group’s many supporters in Washington to convey that message directly to the MEK.

The MEK’s list of advocates, most who have admitted being paid, includes Congressman John Lewis (D-GA), former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, former FBI Director Louis Freeh, former Sen. Robert Torricelli, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, former CIA Deputy Director of Clandestine Operations John Sano, former National Security Advisor James Jones, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Richard Myers, former White House Chief of Staff Andy Card, Gen. Wesley Clark, former Rep. Lee Hamilton, former CIA Director Porter Goss, senior advisor to the Romney campaign Mitchell Reiss, Gen. Anthony Zinni, former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, former Sen. Evan Bayh, and many others.

"All those who wish the residents of Ashraf a peaceful future outside of Iraq can help by encouraging the MEK to make the decision it needs to make," Fried said. "The responsibility for the next decision rests with the MEK… A peaceful solution is at hand, but they’ve got to take it."

Mujahedin-e Khalq in the new List of Terrorist Organizations

State Department: It is unlawful to provide support to Listed Terrorists!!

Foreign Terrorist OrganizationsState Department: It is unlawful to provide support to Listed Terrorists!!
Bureau of Counterterrorism
January 27, 2012

Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) are foreign organizations that are designated by the Secretary of State in accordance with section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), as amended. FTO designations play a critical role in our fight against terrorism and are an effective means of curtailing support for terrorist activities and pressuring groups to get out of the terrorism business.

Current List of Designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations

Identification
The Bureau of Counterterrorism in the State Department (S/CT) continually monitors the activities of terrorist groups active around the world to identify potential targets for designation. When reviewing potential targets, S/CT looks not only at the actual terrorist attacks that a group has carried out, but also at whether the group has engaged in planning and preparations for possible future acts of terrorism or retains the capability and intent to carry out such acts.

Designation
Once a target is identified, S/CT prepares a detailed”administrative record,”which is a compilation of information, typically including both classified and open sources information, demonstrating that the statutory criteria for designation have been satisfied. If the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Treasury, decides to make the designation, Congress is notified of the Secretary’s intent to designate the organization and given seven days to review the designation, as the INA requires. Upon the expiration of the seven-day waiting period and in the absence of Congressional action to block the designation, notice of the designation is published in the Federal Register, at which point the designation takes effect. By law an organization designated as an FTO may seek judicial review of the designation in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit not later than 30 days after the designation is published in the Federal Register.

Until recently the INA provided that FTOs must be redesignated every 2 years or the designation would lapse. Under the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA), however, the redesignation requirement was replaced by certain review and revocation procedures. IRTPA provides that an FTO may file a petition for revocation 2 years after its designation date (or in the case of redesignated FTOs, its most recent redesignation date) or 2 years after the determination date on its most recent petition for revocation. In order to provide a basis for revocation, the petitioning FTO must provide evidence that the circumstances forming the basis for the designation are sufficiently different as to warrant revocation. If no such review has been conducted during a 5 year period with respect to a designation, then the Secretary of State is required to review the designation to determine whether revocation would be appropriate. In addition, the Secretary of State may at any time revoke a designation upon a finding that the circumstances forming the basis for the designation have changed in such a manner as to warrant revocation, or that the national security of the United States warrants a revocation. The same procedural requirements apply to revocations made by the Secretary of State as apply to designations. A designation may be revoked by an Act of Congress, or set aside by a Court order.

Legal Criteria for Designation under Section 219 of the INA as amended

1. It must be a foreign organization.
2. The organization must engage in terrorist activity, as defined in section 212 (a)(3)(B) of the INA (8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(3)(B)),* or terrorism, as defined in section 140(d)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1988 and 1989 (22 U.S.C. § 2656f(d)(2)),** or retain the capability and intent to engage in terrorist activity or terrorism.
3. The organization’s terrorist activity or terrorism must threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security (national defense, foreign relations, or the economic interests) of the United States.

Legal Ramifications of Designation

1. It is unlawful for a person in the United States or subject to the jurisdiction of the United States to knowingly provide”material support or resources”to a designated FTO. (The term”material support or resources”is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(1) as”any property, tangible or intangible, or service, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities, financial services, lodging, training, expert advice or assistance, safehouses, false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel (1 or more individuals who maybe or include oneself), and transportation, except medicine or religious materials.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(2) provides that for these purposes “the term ‘training’ means instruction or teaching designed to impart a specific skill, as opposed to general knowledge.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(3) further provides that for these purposes the term ‘expert advice or assistance’ means advice or assistance derived from scientific, technical or other specialized knowledge.’’
2. Representatives and members of a designated FTO, if they are aliens, are inadmissible to and, in certain circumstances, removable from the United States (see 8 U.S.C. §§ 1182 (a)(3)(B)(i)(IV)-(V), 1227 (a)(1)(A)).
3. Any U.S. financial institution that becomes aware that it has possession of or control over funds in which a designated FTO or its agent has an interest must retain possession of or control over the funds and report the funds to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Other Effects of Designation

1. Supports our efforts to curb terrorism financing and to encourage other nations to do the same.
2. Stigmatizes and isolates designated terrorist organizations internationally.
3. Deters donations or contributions to and economic transactions with named organizations.
4. Heightens public awareness and knowledge of terrorist organizations.
5. Signals to other governments our concern about named organizations.

MEK Camp Ashraf

Briefing on recent developments at Camp Ashraf

Special Briefing
Ambassador Daniel FriedAmbassador Daniel Fried, US Special Advisor for Camp Ashraf
Via Teleconference
Washington, DC
February 7, 2012

On Tuesday, Ambassador Daniel Fried, US Special Advisor for Camp Ashraf, gave an update via teleconference on the recent developments at Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

MR. TONER: Thank you, and thanks to everyone for joining us on such relatively short notice. Appreciate it. Very happy to have here with us this morning Ambassador Dan Fried, who, as you know, has taken on the additional responsibility of being our special advisor on Camp Ashraf. And he’s here today to update us on the status of the situation at Camp Ashraf as well as some details regarding the UN’s January 31st announcement that the facilities at former Camp Liberty now meet international humanitarian standards and are ready to receive the residents of Camp Ashraf.

Just a reminder before I hand the mike to Dan, this is an on-the-record call and Dan will say a few words, and then we’ll open it up to your questions. So without further ado, Ambassador Fried.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: Thanks, everyone, for joining. The U.S. has – welcomed – the U.S. has and continues to welcome and support the peaceful temporary relocation and eventual permanent resettlement of the residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq. This was the heart of Secretary Clinton’s statement on December 25th last year. Our purpose is humanitarian. We welcomed the signing of the MOU last Christmas Day between the Iraqi Government and the UN. This MOU charts a peaceful way forward.

Since the signing of that MOU, the Iraqi Government has worked to prepare a portion of former Camp Liberty, now called Camp Hurriya, to receive the first residents on a temporary basis, working in regular and close touch with the UN and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. That work has made enough progress that the UN last week confirmed that the facilities and infrastructure at Hurriya are in accordance with international humanitarian standards.

The UN recommended that the Government of Iraq and the Ashraf residents discuss details of the first move to Hurriya. Yesterday, an Iraqi representative met with the leadership of Camp Ashraf to discuss these details. The UN was present as facilitator. These discussions, according to all of our information, were businesslike and productive.

The United States welcomes this progress, and we look forward to the first residents moving from Camp Ashraf to Camp Hurriya in the immediate future. In any move of this kind and in the early days, once people are settling into Hurriya, problems may arise, of course. Patience, goodwill, and willingness to resolve logistical issues in a practical way will be critical. The United States, through its Embassy in Baghdad and my office, will continue to support the reasonable, prompt resolution of issues that arise, cooperating with the UN and the Iraqi Government and in contact with the residents at former Camp Ashraf and, of course, Hurriya.

The residents of Camp Ashraf must make the decision to start this relocation process. Camp Ashraf is no longer a viable home for them. They have no secure future there. On the other hand, the Government of Iraq has committed itself to the security of the people at Camp Hurriya and is aware that the United States expects it to fulfill its responsibilities.

The UN has committed itself to stationing monitors at Camp Hurriya on a round-the-clock basis. In addition, as Secretary Clinton made clear in her statement, the U.S. will visit Hurriya on a regular and frequent basis. Camp Hurriya is intended as a temporary transit facility to support the safe departure of former Camp Ashraf residents from Iraq. In this regard, while the UN and the UNHCR are doing and will continue to do their part, governments in Europe and beyond and the United States must do our part as this process unfolds.

Once at Camp Hurriya, some people may decide to return to Iran, but on a voluntary basis only. Several hundred already have in the past. Others may have citizenship or valid residency status in third countries and should be able to return to their homes promptly. Still others may qualify for refugee status under UNHCR’s mandate. The residents who relocate to Camp Hurriya will need to be considered individually. To make our own determination about any specific individual, the United States needs to know more about them, and such information can be obtained only after they move to Hurriya and participate in the UNHCR’s status determination process.

In short, it is time for the MEK to make the decision to start the move out of Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty-Hurriya from where they can begin new lives outside of Iraq. A peaceful solution, no matter what the circumstances, is the only acceptable solution, but it is time to move forward.

Now, with that, I’ll take your questions. And – oh, I should add that the UN head of mission in Iraq Martin Kobler and I were in Europe late last week discussing all of these issues with the European Union, with European parliamentarians, and I met separately with the French Government to discuss the way ahead. So this is an issue very much in motion.

So I’ll now take your questions.

MR. TONER: Great. Thanks, Dan. And, Operator, you can go ahead and tee up the first question.

OPERATOR: Yes, thank you. If you would like to ask a question, press *1. To withdraw your request, press *2. One moment for the first question.

The first question comes from Matthew Lee of AP. Your line is open.

QUESTION: Hey, Dan. Can I ask you what is prompting you to make this call today to tell the MEK that it’s now time? Has there been some new development where they’ve indicated they’re stalling again?

AMBASSADOR FRIED: I wouldn’t say that there’s a new development indicating stalling, but the reason I’m emphasizing this is because yesterday’s – last week’s determination by the UN that Camp Liberty was ready and yesterday’s practical discussions of the way ahead means that the time is now for the MEK to make its decision. It’s got to move forward. And it’s – all those who wish the residents of Ashraf a peaceful future outside of Iraq can help by encouraging the MEK to make the decision it needs to make.

QUESTION: Okay. But I thought – didn’t a limited number already move?

AMBASSADOR FRIED: No.

QUESTION: Or was that just an offer, that they said that some would —

AMBASSADOR FRIED:
That was an offer.

QUESTION: It was an offer.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: No one has moved from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty because Camp Liberty was not yet ready to receive.

QUESTION: Oh, okay.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: So this was not a case of stalling. It was a case of the Iraqis having to get Camp Liberty up to speed. It now is. And that movement needs to start taking place.

QUESTION: All right. And who determined that it was okay, that it was habitable now? The U.S.?

AMBASSADOR FRIED: The UN. Not —

QUESTION: Not the envoy?

AMBASSADOR FRIED:
Now, the U.S. has looked at it also, but the determination was made by technical experts from the UNHCR. The UN issued a statement last week, which is readily available, making clear that the infrastructure and facilities are now up to speed.

QUESTION: Okay. Thank you.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: Sure.

MR. TONER: Next question.

OPERATOR:
And I show no further questions at this time.

MR. TONER: All right. We’ll give it a couple of seconds, but – for you to weigh in if you’ve got any additional questions.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: Well, I’ll take that as a sign that my presentation was comprehensive and answered all possible questions.

MR. TONER: Very good. Operator, last chance for our contestants.

OPERATOR: We have a question from Ian Duncan*. Go ahead.

MR. TONER: Right.

QUESTION:
Hi, there. I’m calling from the LA Times. I just wondered to what extent the FTO designation hinders the U.S. role in the process and if there are any plans to change that designation.

AMBASSADOR FRIED:
My office is not part of the FTO designation process. Obviously, I’m aware that that is a decision which the Secretary will make. We are – our interest in a humanitarian solution for the people at Camp Ashraf is quite independent of that decision. And we are able to move forward even now without that decision having been made.

QUESTION: Okay. Thanks very much.

OPERATOR: Thank you. Next question comes from Andrew Quinn with Reuters. Go ahead.

QUESTION:
Hi. I have a couple of quick questions. One was: I was wondering if there has been any agreement on the process of moving people. I understand that there was some dispute over whether or not they’d be able to take their own vehicles, how they would get from Ashraf to Liberty. Do you know if that has actually been resolved and how they would get from A to B?

And the second question is: Earlier – last month, actually – and Mrs. Rajavi gave a speech in Paris where she said that the United States would hold full responsibility for all Ashraf members – for the safety of Ashraf members while they’re in Iraq. Is that a responsibility that the United States is now willing to accept, given the status of Camp Liberty? Thank you.

AMBASSADOR FRIED: First, the issue of the organization of the convoys was, I understand, discussed yesterday in some detail between the Iraqi Government representative and the Camp Ashraf leadership. I also understand that some good progress was made. And that – we welcome that. We welcome that.

With respect to the U.S. responsibility, Iraq is a sovereign country. Iraq has the responsibility for the exercise of that sovereignty, and they know that a peaceful solution is the only acceptable one. The U.S. is not the sovereign in Iraq. We are doing our best, and we are committed to trying to support a peaceful relocation of the people at Ashraf over to Camp – old Camp Liberty, and then support the UNHR efforts to get them out of Camp Liberty and out of Iraq. We’re going to try our best.

The responsibility for the next decision rests with the MEK. They need – the Iraqi Government has done, so far, what it committed to do; that is, it’s got Camp Liberty up to speed. The MEK and the residents of Ashraf, for their part, held a constructive set of discussions yesterday, and we welcome that. And now the decision has to be theirs to start this process and to work with all of us so that the shared objective, shared by all the sides in this – the UN, the Iraqi Government, the people at Camp Ashraf – for a peaceful solution. And the departure of these people from Iraq is up to them. A peaceful solution is at hand, but they’ve got to take it.

MR. TONER:
Great. Any more questions?

OPERATOR: There are no further questions at this time.

MR. TONER: Okay. Well, we’ll take that for a sign that you’re all fully briefed on this. Anyway, thank you very much, all of you, for joining us today. And thanks to Ambassador Fried for also taking time.

AMBASSADOR FRIED:
All right. Well, thanks a lot, everybody. And I’ll keep – I’ll – we can do this again when the news justifies it.

MR. TONER: Great. Thanks, all.

UN High Commissioner for Refugees

The Mujahedin’s cult should evacuate Ashraf Camp as soon as possible

The second letter of Iran-Pen Club to the officials of United Nations High Commissioners for Refugees (UNHCR)

Respectfully

If you remember, around 4 months ago on 20 September 2011 , the Iran Pen Club in an open letter addressed to UNHCR showed its appreciation to the UNHCR decision to accept the refuge requests of the pmoi victims who after 20 to 30 years could finally submit their refuge request to this international organization and we welcomed your decision for accepting their refuge requests in clear and transparent form. But we also announced that the leaders of this cult are going to struggle against this historical decision of UNHCR which has respected the rights of these people individually and we mentioned that they will disrupt this decision by creating obstacles and hurdles . In that letter we, with consideration to the positioning of the pmoi leadership , mentioned that :

“…. After issuing of the UNHCR statement , the human rights activists and the critics of this organization warned that the pmoi by utilizing any possible facility will create obstacles to prevent carrying out of the UNHCR statement and Maryam Rajavi the wife of the spiritual leader of this group issued a statement in France that:

“…. We do not permit the decision of the mercenaries, Maliki and Barzani , as interview with each individual to go ahead….”

And in continuation of these fruitless endeavors , she says

“ all the people of Mujahedin must go for their interviews by helicopter ….” And this means that it takes 7000-S of flying for the interview of these pmoi stranded captives , taking and returning them , and all those things are part of the obstacles and problems which have been created by the highest rank of this organization to prevent implementing of the UNHCR plan. the pmoi leadership’s reaction which is mentioned above , has concerned and worried deeply the human rights activists because we think that the leadership of pmoi has begun its efforts to prevent getting out of this dead-end…..”

Now ,after the end of the year 2011, and signing the pmoi resettlement contract and in the beginning of transferring the people from the Ashraf concentration camp to the Liberty camp and despite very good situation which has been begotten for UNHCR to implement and carry out its responsibilities and tasks , the leadership of this organization ,by variety of unreal excuses and pretexts that the Liberty camp does not have the standards required , are not willing to go to the Liberty camp.

Fortunately based on the announcement which was issued in the official site of UNHCR on 31 January 2012 in Baghdad , Mr. Martin Kobler , the special envoy of the UN secretary general , announced :

“…. With many thanks to the UNHCR and human rights team for their efforts to make the Liberty garrison ready , quoting the officials of UNHCR and UN-human rights , he said that the infrastructure and the facilities of the new camp in Iraq for the residents of Ashraf is par with international standards and according to the agreement which last month between UN and Iraqi government for voluntary relocation was concluded , this camp is ready…….”

The same announcement reiterate that the pmoi reasons and reasoning in this regard are baseless completely, on the other hand Mr. Martin Kobler has announced that :

“…..the agreement is the only peaceful solution for voluntary relocation of Ashraf residents and it is very important that the agreement is observed word by word in action…..”

He also added : the constant position of UN is that the violent outcome is unacceptable . the concluded agreement opens the way for UNHCR to determine the refugee status which is the first and necessary step for resettlement In other countries to benefit from freedom and liberation…..”

Honorable officials of UNHCR

As you have observed that the signed agreement between UN and Iraqi government has paved the way seriously for determination of the refugee status for all those pmoi stranded victims and in a safe and secure perimeter far from all pmoi forcible organizational laws , the people can freely submit their reasons and requests.

It seems that your official intervention can be a serious help in this regard and it can overcome all the pmoi leadership’s excuses , pretexts and decisions. We are urging you to force pmoi to stay devoted to its own commitments which officially accepted and signed in front of the UN representative and in this regard they should accept all the consequences if they do not accept and reject the concluded agreement.

Surely ,while pmoi finds out that the lawful competent organizations have found out about their unreal excuses like the announcement of the UN representative concerning to the camp liberty which is par international standards , the maneuver and domain of this terrorist stream will be reduced and they will not be able to force their victims to accept their cultic thoughts.

The practical experiences in front of the leadership of this organization has shown that decisiveness and political juridical pressure have a very good impact to neutralize and thwart the pmoi totalitarian leaders’ plans which want to convert the peaceful plan for determination of the pmoi victims ‘ refugee status to the Massoud and Maryam Rajavi’s violent and bloody solution .

Respectfully

Mujahedin Khalq; A proxy force

The threat is very real

The U.S. has been at war with Iran through its proxies for years, including the Kurdish militant nationalist group PJAK─blamed for numerous attacks in Iran─and the Al-Qaeda affiliated Sunni group Jundullah that carries out suicide bombings and other destabilization attacks in Iran.

We are in very dangerous times, and we have to do everything we can to prevent another war—this time against Iran. Almost every day we hear about new sanctions, new threats, new promises that “all options are on the table.” It seems like the general public is complacent about this and do not understand the severe consequences –possibly World War III.

Before the war on Iraq, there was a huge outcry from the general public. After Obama got elected, the voices of protest have mostly been silent. Is it because people don’t want to criticize Obama? Did Obama’s election victory divide the progressive community? The war on Iraq was looked on as a Bush/Republican effort. Those in power today are continuing Bush’s war plans stronger than ever. Where is the outcry?

Iran IS threatened, and the U.S. continues to push the screws even tighter. U.S. policy toward Iran for the last three decades has primarily taken the form of economic sanctions, threats and isolationism. The U.S. is involved in a covert and proxy war.

The covert dimensions of the war are being fought by Intelligence assets, cyber attacks, computer viruses, secretive military units, spies, assassins, agent provocateurs, and saboteurs. The kidnapping and assassination of Iranian scientists and military commanders, which started several years ago, is a part of this covert war.

The U.S. has been at war with Iran through its proxies for years, including the Kurdish militant nationalist group PJAK─ blamed for numerous attacks in Iran─and the Al-Qaeda affiliated Sunni group Jundullah that carries out suicide bombings and other destabilization attacks in Iran.

There is another group, MEK, an Iranian exile group who fought with Saddam Hussein and against Iran during the Iran/Iraq war (when the U.S. provided arms to Iraq).

MEK─ Mujahadeen-e-Khalq─ is officially listed by the State Department as a “terrorist organization,” but politicians have been pushing to “de-list” them so MEK can be armed, trained, and sent into Iran, with open, rather than covert American support.

Former U.S. officials taking part in MEK-linked events told the Christian Science Monitor that they received substantial fees, with contracts ranging up to 100,000.00. Rudy Guliani, Howard Dean, Tom Ridge, Wesley Clark, Gen. Peter Pace have all been paid for endorsing MEK.

This all smacks of hypocrisy, as our local activists had their homes raided, personal belongings confiscated, were served subpoenas to a Grand Jury, and are being investigated for “material support of terrorism” even though their real “crime” is exposing U.S.-sponsored atrocities in the Middle East and other parts of the world.

Iran has a wide spectrum of reformist and democratic groups that are all against U.S. intervention in Iran’s internal affairs. The Obama administration is having a hard time finding any Iran-based political groups to work with, so it is working with groups in exile, like MEK or Iranian monarchists, who are very unpopular with the people in Iran.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

Azerbaijan envoy: MKO, PJAK’s ideology oppose to ours

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov denied any support from the country for the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO)terrorist group. Azerbaijan envoy: MKO, PJAK's ideology oppose to ours

He said, “MKO’s ideology is based on Communism and Marxism which is in opposition to ours.”

“Why should we help PJAK? This group stands against our ideology,” said Javanshir Akhundov in response to a question about his country’s stance on MKO and PJAK terrorist groups, Habilian Association (families of Iranian terror victims) database reported.

He further explained that this group is “the enemy of our friends, Iran and Turkey. What is our interest in supporting them?”

Denying any Azerbaijan’s support for MKO terrorist group, Akhundov said that “MKO ideology is based on Communism and Marxism which is in opposition to ours.”

“Communism and Marxism brought about a lot of damages to Azerbaijani people; we do not accept them (in Azerbaijan).”

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran went on to say that," Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization members are living at a camp in Iraq, from which they are increasingly escaping to other countries.”

“Approaching one or two of them to the UN office in Baku is not enough to raise objections against UN office.”

He described all the news and analysis regarding the acceptance of MKO and PJAK by Azerbaijan as “falsification”, adding there is no reason for protecting MKO and PJAK by Azerbaijan.

Iraqi Authorities' stance on the MEK

Senior Iraq MP: Iraqi Govt. not recognize Maryam Rajavi

The leadership of the coalition of state law and lawmaker Abbas al-Bayati refused any decision of the government to conduct negotiations with Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, also MKO, PMOI) leadership. Senior Iraq MP: Iraqi Govt. not recognize Maryam Rajavi

“Iraqi government negotiates with governments not organizations and groups,” al-Bayati told Al-Baghdadia TV. “Political parties or groups have nothing to do with our government, and our relations are within formal frameworks.”

“Our decision regarding the MEK has been made based on our territorial integrity,” he added.

The Iraqi MP went on to say that they will be transferred to another location and “we’ve facilitated their departure to third countries.” “Those who are willing to return to Iran will be provided with necessary facilities.”

Al-Bayati made reference to Rajavi’s recent remarks regarding her willingness to negotiate with Iraqi government and said, “Iraqi government does not recognize Maryam Rajavi, Mujahedin-e Khalq leadership.”

“Mujahedin-e Khalq is an organization which has been used under the Baath regime of Saddam Hussein for political reasons not humanitarian causes,” he continued. “It had been also used as leverage to pressure Iraqi nation in regional conflicts and now we, in New Iraq, do not intend to use leverage against any countries. Thus, we consider them as strangers and not as a group; they must follow Iraq’s laws and regulations.”

Asked if the UN is supervising Camp Liberty, al-Bayati said, “No, the camp is under the control of Iraqi government and (the camp’s control) has nothing to do with the United Nations. “Iraq came to the decision to provide the UN with the reports of the camp, and also let them visit the camp.”

Al-Bayati referred to MKO’s involvement in the 1991 crimes in Kirkuk and Tuz Khurmatu regions and said that these crimes “must be viewed from a legal perspective.”

Earlier on Thursday, Maryam Rajavi expressed her willingness to travel to Baghdad and negotiate with the Iraqi government in the presence of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

MKO preventing release of its crimes on media

Daniel Da Cruz serving as the Deputy Permanent Representative of Luxemburg to the United Nations Office at Geneva told Habilian that Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, also MKO, PMOI) infiltrated MKO preventing release of its crimes on mediainto the media committed to magnifying and engaging in (propagating) the goals of the group.

“It is astonishing to see some European parliamentarians support the Mujahedin-e Khalq, while it has assassinated twelve thousand Iranians,” said Deputy Permanent Representative of Luxemburg to the United Nations Office at Geneva, Daniel Da Cruz.

“Plenty of European Parliamentarians are not aware of various dimensions of MKO crimes,” Daniel Da Cruz told Habilian.

“Mujahedin-e Khalq has infiltrated into the media committed to magnifying and engaging in (propagating) the goals of the group.”

“They are financially supported by MKO to prevent its crimes being published, therefore, many of the Parliamentarians are being deceived by the cult as a result of their lack of information on the nature of the group.”

He emphasized the necessity of revealing the unknown aspects of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, also MKO, PMOI) more than before by publishing numerous documents and evidences, adding “I will disseminate the information through media for the public enlightenment of my country.”

MEK Camp Ashraf

Camp New Iraq residents and the determination of their refugee status claims

• UNHCR has been for some time and remains ready to undertake verification and refugee Camp New Iraq residents and the determination of their refugee status claimsstatus adjudication for the residents of Camp New Iraq (formerly Camp Ashraf) who are persons of concern. It has mobilized teams on the ground, and has put in place the necessary soft and hard ware support capabilities. Individual interviews will need to take place in a safe, neutral and confidential location.

• The stipulation of the Government of Iraq remains that these processes take place outside Camp New Iraq, in the new location which is being provisioned to enable the residents voluntarily to move there and to stay on a temporary basis in safe and decent conditions. UNHCR has been advising on the technicalities of improving the camp infrastructure.

• UNHCR attaches utmost importance to peaceful solutions being found, including that any relocation outside Camp New Iraq proceed on a voluntary basis, with freedom of movement the most desirable state at the site of relocation.

• UNHCR is currently looking at how to expedite verification and RSD processing so as to enable it to be done on an individual basis fairly, fully but also speedily, in the interests of gaining time against tight deadlines.

Background

• Camp residents who have submitted requests for refugee status are formally asylum seekers under international law whose claims require adjudication. In the absence of a national system of adjudication in Iraq, UNHCR will consider these requests on an individual basis in a fair and efficient procedure. Each individual case will be judged on its merits and in accordance with international law.

• International law requires that asylum-seekers must be able to benefit from basic protection of their security and well-being. This includes protection against any expulsion or return to the frontiers of territories where their lives or freedom would be threatened (the non-refoulement principle).

• UNHCR, together with the Government of Iraq, UNAMI and other concerned actors, remains committed to finding solutions to this long-standing problem, including resettlement and/or relocation to third countries.

Germany

A cult like Mojahedin Khalq poses serious threats to Germany

PMOI (Rajavi’s Cult) , the serious threat of the sects and sectarianism in Germany

We speak with the politicians and elected and honorable parliamentarians of Germany which do not allow the people like Maryam Rajavi who is ruling the notorious and brainwashed cult( Rajavi’s cult) take advantage of the principles , rules of law and frameworks based on democracy and freedom in your country , Germany ,and they convert the Germany to a place to propagandize , propagate and further their cultic objectives.

Obviously , this fact is announced and expressed by people who some of them had been living more than 20 years of their lives in this notorious cult so they are fully familiar with their dangerous cultic behavior and objectives and they are experts and reliable and credible witnesses in recognition and analyzing of this cult ,as a result of the importance of these separated members and for closing their mouth to prevent revelation of the real essence of this cult ,the leadership of this cult has announced the death decree of all those separated members and critics since many years ago and they have begun destroying their prestige and personalities by variety of fake and hollow labels and false accusations which have been made and produced in the cult headquarter in Auvers sur Oise which their reaction obviously substantiate the credibility and justness and competence of those separated members and the critics of Rajavi’s cult who have stood up bravely against their deceit , deception and demagoguery and consecutively reveal the real dangerous essence and content of this cult.

As we all witnessed the horrifying self immolations of some members of this cult in some European countries specifically in France in 2003 which all were under direct supervision and order of the cult headquarter in Auvers sur Oise . during those self immolations some of those members died horrifyingly . in our opinion this inhumane act had a special and specified massage for all European countries and their politicians which this cult and its leadership utilizes all kind of inhumane solutions for reaching to its cultic objectives by all means, obviously the people who set themselves on fire just by an order , they have the potential of the destruction and annihilation of others as well and they can carry out their dangerous , violent and fatal actions in any European countries just by an order against the interests of that country.

The history and background of the violent and terrorist actions of this cult is not covert for any European and American countries. The cult ,which began its terrorist actions in 70’s by assassinating the American military advisors in Iran ,and during past years by direct cooperation and collaboration with Saddam Hussein and his government in suppressing and killing the Iraqi revolutionaries who were willing to topple Saddam Hussein dictatorship as well as the blind and causeless killings of Iranian citizens and civilians , they carried out their role and share in this subject perfectly.

We ,the separated members and the critics by complete recognition of the real content and nature of this cult and its leadership who cunningly and by spending millions Euros are taking maximum advantage of the democracy and freedom existing in European countries to reach to their objectives ,urge all European politicians and parliamentarians not allow the leadership of this cult by depending on the 2 principals ,democracy and freedom existing in those European countries, propagandize and propagate its sects and sectarianism and they contaminate your soil like France to their violent sectarianism .

In better recognition of the real nature of this cult , we the separated members and critics are willing to fully cooperate in informing all European officials and politicians and we announce our readiness for fully cooperation in recognition of this dangerous and fanatic cult.

All the best
