MEK 33 year of Crimes
Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

53 years of the MEK crimes

The Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (People’s Mujahedin of Iran also known as MEK, MKO or PMOI) was formed on the basis of Marxism and Islam; later Islam was removed from MEK’s doctrine . This group, established in 1965 in a bid to overthrow the Shah, harbored an anti-Western and anti-U.S. ideology. They also formed alliances with other Iranian Marxist groups such as the Organization of Iranian People’s Fedai Guerrillas.

But both of them had a marginal role in the Shah’s overthrow during the Islamic Revolution which was mainly fought by the supporters of Ayatollah Khomeini. MEK leaders were mostly imprisoned by the Shah’s security apparatus and couldn’t play a direct role in the 1979 Revolution.

Due to their intense anti-American approach, MEK killed many US officials, including three officers who had been military advisors under the Shah and three civilian contractors working in Iran. They also kidnapped the US Ambassador to Iran. They were the main elements for occupying the US embassy in Tehran, and when the embassy staff were released they called it a”surrender”.

MEK 33 year of Crimes

The MKO has also made numerous terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. Out of the nearly 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist attacks over the past four decades, about 12,000 have fallen victim to the terrorist group’s acts of terror.

Based on these facts, US State Department put the MEK on their list of international terrorist organizations on October 8, 1997. Since 2010, this terrorist group’s henchmen have assassinated four senior nuclear scientists in Iran.

Later, it was revealed by a 2012 NBC News report that MEK’s brutal assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists has been committed via”training and arming by Israel’s secret service”. The report also conveyed that what was being said by US officials confirmed the same”charges leveled by Iran’s leaders” about the Israeli involvement in the killings in Iran.

Later it was revealed that the US was also behind these terrorist assassinations by provided intelligence to the MEK. Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh revealed in an interview with Democracy Now that the Bush administration secretly trained the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist group when it was still included on the State Department’s list of foreign terrorists. Writing for The New Yorker magazine, Hersh reported that:

“The US Joint Special Operations Command trained operatives from Mujahideen-e-Khalq, or MEK, at a secret site in Nevada beginning in 2005.”

Later it was revealed that this training was held at Department of Energy’s Nevada National Security Site, located about 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

Human rights abuses in MEK camps also included physical abuse, lack of exit options, forced celibacy, emotional isolation, extremely degrading peer pressure, forced labor, sleep deprivation, intense ideological exploitation and isolation.

Tahereh Golrizan letter to her brother Abbas, in the MEK Camp in Albania

Tahereh Golrizan wrote letter to his brother Abbas; hostage at the MEK camp in Albania on the eve of the Persian new year. Some parts of the letter read:
“
Dear Abbas,
Happy new year. The same as every Nowruz we sat at the Haft-Sin Table, remembering you. We wanted you to sit next to us at the Haft-sin table. We missed you a lot. I prayed for you to be near your family.
My dear bro, please release yourself from the cult of Mujahedin and make all of the family happy. This is all I want from you. I hope the new year to be the year of your liberation. “

Abbas was a soldier in Iran-Iraq war when he was taken as a war prisoner by the Iraqi forces. Abbas used to write letters to his family from Iraqi POW camp via the IRC from time to time but when the war was over and eventually the POWs were released by the Iraqi government, Abbas did not return home. Trying to find Abbas, the Golrizan family soon found out that Abbas had been transferred to the camp of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization. Abbas has been in the MEK for over 30 years.

Musa Jaberifar: I left the MEK because they are dishonest

“I defected the Cult of Rajavi because they are dishonest, unreliable and fraudulent,” he writes in his official announcement to denounce the MEK.

Born in 1980 in Tehran, Musa was 21 years old when he was kidnapped by the MEK recruiters and eventually was taken to the group’s base in Iraq. He recounts how he was trapped by them:
“A friend of mine, named Mehdi Rajabi was abroad. One day, a woman called me and said that she was an acquaintance of Mehdi. She said, ‘your friend is working in Greece. He cannot call you and he has asked me to call you to tell you to go to Greece.’ I had just finished my army service and I was jobless. I found it a good opportunity. The woman told me to go to Turkey from where she would help me move to Greece. By the way. I went to Turkey and called the woman. Someone came to take me to their safe house. I was told that Mehdi had sent me an email. I do not remember the exact words but he had written that I should trust them and do whatever they said. As I trusted my friend, I accepted everything they said. They gave me an Iraqi passport and took me to Iraq.”

Musa Jaberifar

Musa Jaberifar

This was the beginning of a thirteen-year imprisonment in the Cult of Rajavi for Musa jaberifar. He was not a political person so he had no idea about the Mujahedin Khalq. “In Iraq, I had no idea where I was going,” he says. “After I arrived, I gradually found out that I was completely wrong to trust my friend. During the thirteen years that I was in the Cult of Rajavi, I asked to leave several times but every time they coerced me to stay by holding brainwashing sessions.”

After the group was relocated in Albania in 2015, Musa finally left the group’s camp but he was financially dependent to the group until recently. In response, leaders of the MEK asked him to spy on other defectors of the group in particular members of ASILA (Association for the Iranians Living in Albania). “They had bought me somehow. I was their hostage. I was exhausted. It was like I was still in the cult,” he writes. Thus, he declared his total defection from the Cult of Rajavi and he joined ASILA a few days ago.

“I want to choose for and build my life, the life that was ruined in the cult,” he states.

Saadat Mother

Mother Saadat: I used to love the MEK but now I hate them

On the occasion of the Persian New Year, Hamael Ghanizadeh called “Mother Saadat” sends a video message for her beloved children who have been taken as hostages by the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ Cult of Rajavi) in Albania for 33 years.

Speaking in Turkish, Mother Saadat mourns in the absence of Mehri, Mahmoud and Nahid for another new year holiday in the past years. “Release yourself from the hands of the dictators,” she addresses her children. “I am old. I cannot walk. I want to see you. I miss you. I hope we can visit each other someday.”

Referring to the despotic rule of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi over the MEK, she says, “What a dictatorship it is! If you were imprisoned in Tabriz during these 33 years, I was at least allowed to visit you.”

As leaders of the MEK do not allow the members to contact their families by any means, Mother Saadat asks her beloved son and daughters a few crucial questions, “What will Massoud and Maryam Rajavi do for the Iranian people if they come to power in Iran? What do they mean by such attitude towards their own members?”

Hamael Ghanizadeh mother of Mehri, Nahid and Mahmoud Saadat who are fell trapped in the MEK

Hamael Ghanizadeh mother of Mehri, Nahid and Mahmoud Saadat who are fell trapped in the MEK

The heart-broken mother of Nahid, Mehri and Mahmoud Saadat used to be a sympathizer of the MEK but now she hates the MEK. She explains the reason in the video message to her children: “You know that I used to love the MEK very much but now not anymore. When Massoud Rajavi launched that game of marriage and divorce [forced members to divorce their spouses] in order to keep you under his own control, I began to hate him. His act was illegitimate. I am not as I was before. Do not wonder why your mother has changed. The acts and attitudes of your leader made me hate the MEK.”

Mother Saadat warns her children about the brainwashing system of the Cult of Rajavi. She knows that her loved ones in Camp Ashraf 3 are kept in ignorance from what is going on in the outside world. She asks them to think deeply and make a correct decision.

“You just chant slogans for People! People! People!” she says. “I am one of the People! Stop chanting slogans! You cannot do anything! You just put yourselves and your families in trouble. You did not become a mother or a father. You ruined all your dreams and I am so sad for you.”

Mother Saadat hopes her three beloved children a prosperous new year in which they will be able to get determined to leave the Cult of Rajavi. About two thousand MEK members are imprisoned under the rule of the Rajavis’ dictatorship in Camp Ashraf 3, a heavily guarded camp in north of Tirana, the Albanian capital.

Joie de Vie, mission accomplished by defectors of the Cult of Rajavi

Everyday, we see and hear new photos or videos on the daily life of defectors of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO/ MEK/ PMOI/ Cult of Rajavi). It may be their gathering on the occasion of Persian new year’s traditions like Sizdahbedar (also known as Nature’s Day is an Iranian festival held annually on the thirteenth day of Spring) or in the birthday party for the son of Sarfaraz Rahimi and his Albanian wife Arisa, Ermolindo. It may also be the news on Malek BeitMashal who has bought his first personal car.

MEK defectors in Albania celebrate Thirteenth day of Spring, Sizdahbedar

What prevented Malek from buying a car in all those years of membership in the MEK? What prevented members of the MEK from enjoying a picnic in the nature just like what every Iranian enjoys at least once a year on the Thirteenth day of Spring, Sizdahbedar?

Political struggle –what the MEK leaders claim for—does not mean neglecting life. Instead, the love for life leads to the love for people, nation and country. Thus, rejecting individuality and sexuality – as the MEK leaders believe in and boast of—is never a necessity for political struggle. There are a large number of political activists and freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela, Che Guevera who dedicated their life to fight for their people but they never ignored their love for nature, family, spouse and children — their love for life.

Radio Free Europe on MEK Camp ashraf3

Life is forbidden in the Cult of Rajavi

This is the criteria that excludes the MEK from political fighters and includes it in the list of destructive cults. Life is forbidden in the Cult of Rajavi. This destructive cult deprives its victims from their individual, spiritual, social, academic and sexual life. The MEK leaders consider life as an obstacle against their alleged struggle. They call their so-called strategy as “neglecting individuality and sexuality”!

A few of current members of the MEK are likely to be mentally barred in the Cult of Rajavi. They have not realized that the group’s so-called struggle has borne no fruit but it has fortified the rule of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi over the cult. However, evidences indicate that there are a number of MEK members who have maintained joie de vie in their hearts; they know that life is going on outside the bars of the cult and they are waiting for an opportunity to leave the group, just like hundreds of defectors who left the group during the past few years.

Eid al-Fitr for MEK defectors in Albania

Eid al-Fitr for MEK defectors in Albania

That is why members of ASILA (Association for the Support of Iranians Living in Albania) as defectors of the Cult of Rajavi try to use every occasion to demonstrate signs of their normal life outside the MEK. The videos of their parties, gatherings and picnics seem honest, simple and friendly in contrast with the well-funded luxurious propaganda shows run by the MEK in Camp Ashraf 3. Just compare the robot-like faces of MEK members waving flags and praising Maryam Rajavi with the cheerful faces of the guests in the birthday party of the four-year-old Ermolindo in their small cozy apartment.

MEK uncovered
Mujahedin Khalq Organization

The MEK Uncovered

‘Mujahedin-e Khalq Uncovered; The Terrorist Group in The Eyes of International Media’, is a collection of articles on Mujahedin e-Khalq organization (MKO, also known as MEK, NCRI, PMOI, etc.), published in major international Media outlets from 2000-2017, and reports on the group published by governments, research institutes and think tanks that helps to understand how MKO’s terrorism has been viewed by experts, journalists, politicians, governments and international organizations during the past 17 years.

Iran is estimated to have lost more than 17000 of its citizens to terror attacks since the establishment of the Islamic Republic, 12000 of whom are reportedly assassinated only by the MKO. The atrocities and crimes of the MKO set up one of the bloodiest chapters of Iranian history. Soon following the Iranian Islamic revolution, the organization started a phase of armed struggle in a bid to destabilize the newly formed government and have its revenge of failing to assume a share in the power. As a result, MKO’s dedicated terrorist teams launched numerous blind suicide operations, bombings, gun-shot assassinations as well as street gun-battles in which many innocent civilians and key officials were killed. In 2005, a report titled ‘No Exit’ was released by Human Rights Watch describing the terrorist group as a cult of personality that systematically violates the human rights of its own members.

There are also reports that members of the MKO deify Maryam Rajavi, who has already proclaimed herself “president” of Iran. Her photographs are frequently found in MKO camps, and MKO members staged forced public self-immolations to protest her 2003 arrest in Paris. MKO’s terrorist activities in Iran and abroad were not left unnoticed by global Media. The group’s terrorist nature has been widely reflected in the Media during the past 2 decades. Although the MKO has been described as a terrorist group in MEK Uncovered 13 official documents released by various governments including the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, etc, in the past few years, the group succeeded to lobby its name out of the lists of terrorist organizations thanks to its big lobbying campaigns and large sums of money paid to the people that lobby on its behalf. Considering MKO’s long history of adopting terrorism and cult-like practices as major tools to achieve its political aims, it is worth knowing how MKO’s terrorist and cult-like nature is reflected in major international Media outlets and research institutes in the past 2 decades.

Mujahedin-e Khalq Uncovered 2
With the inauguration of Donald Trump as President of the United States, the extremists opposing Iran in the White House were presented with an opportunity to bolster their support for the cult of MEK. On the one hand, Trump’s administration officials sided with this terrorist cult and a significant number of his close associates espoused the group. On the other hand, the MEK repeatedly incited the new administration to take severe measures and impose more sanctions against Iran, which all generally targeted the Iranian people.

Perhaps this magnitude of bilateral communications between mid-2017 and the termination of Trump’s presidency led a considerable number of Western media outlets, particularly the United States, to focus on the MEK and its relations with the Trump administration and highlight the group’s atrocious records of terrorism and deception.

Consequently, with Trump’s presidency coming to an end, an attempt was made to compile and refine all the articles in order to publish the second volume of the book.

The book, published in 830 pages, vividly demonstrates that the MEK is still a highly dubious and notorious group in the West and despite the efforts to present a different image of itself among Westerners, it has not attained much success.

Khalil Ansarian
Former members of the MEK

The MEK former member: after 30 years of captivity, now I am a free man

Khalil Ansarian, the MEK former member published a photo on his facebook page honoring the anniversary of his defection from the Mujahedin Khalq Organization. He writes: “Anniversary of liberation from the clutches of the cult, on March 31, 2018, after thirty years of captivity in Rajavi’s hellish organization, I was released and achieved a new life and freedom.”

Khalil Ansarian

Khalil Ansarian

Being a soldier in the ranks of the Iranian regular army, Khalil Ansarian was captured by the troops of Dictator Saddam Hussein on the third day of the Iran-Iraq war (September 25, 1980). Mr Ansarian spent several years in the POW camps of Ba’athist regime. Since he had completed medical high school in Isfahan and since Arabic was his mother tongue, Mr Ansarian served as a nurse in the POW camp. He became part of the MEK Organization after being promised that, if he joined this organization, he would have the right to go to Europe if he did not like the organization.

In fact, for about 30 years Mr. Ansarian became a slave of the MEK organization, serving as a nurse and even as a dentist at Camp Ashraf. He was also part of the MEK’s foreign relations bureau, as he was a “native speaker” of the Arabic language (classical and contemporary Arabic).

Mr. Ansarian left the group in Tirana in 2018. However he was asked by MEK commanders to spy on their Iranian and Albanian comrades. He was also asked to make public statements to camera, in which he should curse and slander his friends. Mr. Ansarian, as a man of dignity, did not accept such a humiliating offer. The MEK responded by cutting the monthly payment of 30,000 Lek (approximately 240 Euros).

Khalil Ansarian is now a 63 year old man. He is no longer one of the thousands of serfs of Maryam Rajavi, the head of the MEK Cult. After almost 30 years, Mr. Ansarian, after leaving the ranks of the MEK (then located on the outskirts of Tirana), had the opportunity for the first time to talk on the phone with his elderly parents and 5 brothers and 6 sisters. During the time that Mr Ansarian was the slave of the couple Masoud and Maryam Rajavi, his brothers and sisters grew up, got married and now Khalil has 36 grandchildren in Iran. The Rajavi cult stole 30 years from Mr Ansarian, but he is optimistic and even happy that he is finally managing to live a new normal life after 30 years of nightmare in the ranks of the former terrorist organization MEK.

MEK women writing confessions
The cult of Rajavi

Women that humiliated in the MEK

Every year on the anniversary of the “International Women’s day, the MEK gathers a number of women unaware of the group’s history of terrorist activities; agenda: necessity of freedom for women in the Iranian society!!

It is ironical that the MEK, well aware of the situation in Iran, creates lies for the very audience (who buy these lies either due to unawareness or love of money) and claims that the Iranian women are deprived from freedom and are forced to follow compulsory Hijab regulations while claiming to be bringing freedom for them. One should ask himself about how the MEK leaders treat the women in their group while they create such lies.

MEK women

Studying each and every female member of the group proves that all of them are required to wear uniform and cover their heads, with no exceptions. This indicates the fact that THE MEK tries to distort reality and hide it from outside. Although they claim that this kind of clothing has been selected by the women in group, could anyone believe that there’s not even a different idea or selection among hundreds of female members?! In addition, this kind of mandatory uniformity of clothing shows that we are dealing with a “Cult”, with exclusive ideas about women.

Regardless of the way women wear in the MEK, another issue that attracts attention is the fact that all female members of The MEK are single. According to some public reports, tHE MEK leader Massoud Rajavi ordered all members to divorce and banned marriage in the group since the 80s, so all members can only dedicate themselves to the cult leader and The MEK’s cause. All this information is verified in reports and memories of former members of the group and are publicly accessible.

This is not all of it. Revelations (on sterilization of women) made by former female members, including Batul Soltani, Zahra Mirbagheri and others, expose the fact that the world is dealing with a horrible, bizarre and weird group which is violating women’s basic rights.

It should be noted that these women are never allowed to have a contact with their families in Iran or even meet them. Efforts by tens of Iranian families, whether inside Iran or abroad, during past years to see their relatives in The MEK camps in Iraq, and now in Albania, have remained futile. Even when the UNHCR in Iraq was going to interview the members, group leaders insisted on the presence of their own representative in all interview sessions; which clearly shows their fear of any comments about the internal situation.

Now the question is whether or not such a group with extreme cult beliefs that suppresses the basic needs of its own female members, is qualified to speak about women’s rights and women’s day or hold conferences for them?! Do the female politicians, who attend the group’s rallies in France or Albania, know that they are deceived by an anti-women cult?

Are all other female members allowed to travel to everywhere in Europe like Maryam Rajavi? Are they allowed, like Maryam Rajavi, to enjoy the right of having husband and family?
