Iraq ready to extradite some MKO members to Iran

The Iraqi Judiciary Chief has expressed the country’s judiciary system to cooperate with Iran and extradite some criminal members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO) to Iran.

During his official visit to Iran, Medhat al-Mahmoud met with Habilian Association Secretary General and emphasized his readiness to promote the rights of Iranian terror victims.

He added that the Iraqi judicial system "is ready to hear families of martyrs’ requests and demands."

Mahmoud further noted the Iraqi judicial system’s readiness to cooperate in the case of Mujahedin-e Khalq, and said he had informed Iranian officials that if they demand the extradition of some MKO members, the Iranian Foreign Ministry should Iraqi Judiciary through legal ways and then the Iraqi Judiciary will investigate and take necessary steps.

Seyed Mohammad-Javad Hasheminejad, for his part, expressed Habilian’s readiness to provide Iraqi government and judicial system with documents related to the MKO’s terrorist attacks.

Earlier last week, Iranian Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Medhat Al-Mahmoud called on Baghdad to extradite the members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, a.k.a. MEK and NCR) to stand a fair tribunal in Tehran.

MKO has killed over 12000 Iranians during the past three decades. During the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, the group joined the former Iraqi dictator. Saddam provided MKO with bases, weapons and protection and MKO in response helped him suppress the Iraqi Kurds.

MKO calls on US to hinder their trial

The Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist group (a.k.a. MEK and MKO) has asked the US and UN "to condemn" Iran’s demand for extradition of MEK criminals in Camp Liberty to Iran.

Earlier the week and prior to the 4-day visit of a delegation of Iraqi judiciary officials, Habilian Association (families of Iranian terror victims) asked the Iranian officials to pursue the extradition of MKO criminals to Iran.

Later in a meeting on Monday with his Iraqi counterpart Medhat Al-Mahmoud, the Iranian Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani called on Baghdad to extradite the MKO members to stand a fair tribunal in Tehran.

"Most of these (MKO) people have admitted to their crimes and we expect the friendly and brotherly country of Iraq to extradite them to Iran within a legal framework to undergo a fair trial," Amoli Larijani said during the meeting.

In its statement, the MKO described the demand as an "absurd request" and called on the US government and the United Nations to "immediately condemn" the statements and to "adopt urgent and effective measures" to protect these individuals.

Iraq ready to extradite Mojahedin Khalq criminals to Iran

Iraqi Justice Minister has said Iraq is required to repatriate Mujahedin-e Khalq criminals to Iran due to the memorandum of understanding signed to facilitate the extradition of criminals.

“If Iran wants to take these individuals, we will extradite the most wanted MKO members to Tehran in coordination with the Iraq Judiciary system,” Hassan al-Shimari told Habilian’s correspondent in Baghdad.

Asked about the lawsuits filed against the terrorist MKO group, al-Shimari said, “The case of MKO belongs to the National Security Council not to the Justice Ministry.”

MKO is a terrorist group, which according to the US State Department Report on the group, run its organization autocratically, suppressing dissent and eschewing tolerance of differing viewpoints.

MKO carried out numerous attacks against Iranians, the most spectacular of which was an attack occurred June 28, 1981, when two bombs ripped apart the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party killing some 70 high ranking members, including the IRP’s leader, Ayatollah Beheshti.

An Iraqi political analyst and advisor to the country’s prime minister denounced some countries’ support for the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO) as “dishonorable”. Iraqi political analyst condemns MKO supporters

Referring to the delay in MKO’s expulsion from Iraq, Sa’ad al-Motallebi told Habilian’s correspondent in Iraq that the reason for this delay is the lack of commitment of those countries who had previously expressed willingness to take them in their countries.

He also made a reference to the politicians supporting the MKO and said, “Some politicians who have received money from the MKO not only supports the group but they also act on their behalf.”

The political expert said the reluctance of countries to accept these individuals in their countries may be due to the fact that these countries regard MKO members with suspicion.

Al-Motallebi underlined the necessity of the UN’s assistance in this issue, adding, “the UN has committed to lend a hand to Iraq in the expulsion of this group.”

He finally asserted that MKO members are not eligible for asylum in Iraq and Baghdad has the right to “expel them wherever in the world.” “But Baghdad has agreed to do the job in cooperation with the UN due to humanitarian issues.

MKO intervening in Iraq’s internal affairs

Former deputy prime minister of Iraq denounced Mujahedin-e Khalq organization’s (MKO, a.k.a. MEK) media attacks against the Iraqi army’sas intervention in the country’s internal affairs.

“I have no respect for politicians who are supporting an illegal entity in Iraq, Salam al-Zubaie told Habilian’s correspondent in Baghdad,” referring to some Iraqi politicians’ support for the MKO.

“We are against the presence of any group threatening the neighboring countries,” al-Zubaie added.

Asked about the late expulsion of MKO members in Iraq, he said that is because of the incompetence of the Iraq’s government and justice system.

“This issue is none of the MKO’s business and their action is an obvious intervention in internal affairs of the country and we as Iraqi citizens do not allow insult against our army,” the Iraqi politician added, pointing to MKO media’s attacks on the Iraqi army over its offensive against al-Qaeda militants.

The MKO describes the ISIL terrorists as Iraqi tribes combatants who have established the "Tribes Military Council" to confront the Maliki government, while the UN Security Council strongly condemned recent attacks committed by al-Qaida terrorists in Iraq’s western province of Anbar.

“Contrary to belief of some TV channels, Iraqi army has not invaded Fallujah and it doesn’t seek al-Anbar’s occupation. The main responsibility of the Iraqi Army is to protect the citizens and to stand against the groups seeking to destroy the public property and scare people.”

An Iraqi political analyst has said the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO and NCRI) is responsible for the murder of its members in Iraq.

MKO leaders liable for members’ killings in Iraq Referring to the missile attack to the transient residence of the MKO members near Baghdad International Airport, Ibrahim al-Seraji said in an interview with Habilian Association that the attack was an obvious reason for the Iraqis’ reluctance over their stay in the country.

Camp Liberty, former US military base near Baghdad International Airport, which now houses some 2900 members of the terrorist MKO group came under attacks on December 27, 2013.

Al-Mukhtar Army militia has claimed responsibility for the attack. Wathiq al-Batat, commander of the militia, told Reuters his group had fired 20 Katyusha rockets and mortar rounds at the camp. “We’ve asked (the government) to expel them from the country many times, but they are still here,” he said.

Al-Seraji cited the MKO leaders’ disrespect for the UN’s decisions regarding their relocation outside Iraq as the reason for their being responsible for the killing of their members.

He added that Iraqi people want the “maintenance of good relations with Iran,” but the suspicious presence of the group in Iraq cause tension between the two countries.

“We’ve expected the Iraqi government to deal with the lawsuits filed against the MKO,” the Iraqi analyst further added.

Following the Thursday’s rocket attack on the MKO’s camp, UNHCR said 1,400 Mujahedin-e Khalq (MKO, a.k.a. MEK and NCRI) members are ready for relocation to third countries, throwing the ball in the court of the group’s supporters to take action and accept these individuals in their countries.

“UNHCR urgently reiterates the need to find solutions for the camp’s residents, and is appealing to countries to act urgently on 1,400 cases from Camp Hurriya that have already been submitted for relocation,” said the UN’s refugee agency in a press release.

The press release added that since 2011, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) have been “engaged in an effort to find relocation opportunities outside Iraq” for some 3,200 members of MKO now residing temporarily inside Camp Liberty, a former US military base near Baghdad International Airport.

“So far, the international community has managed to secure the relocation to third countries of 311 residents, clearly demonstrating that more relocation places are urgently needed,” UNHCR added.

Raising concerns at the Thursday’s attack on Camp Liberty, Ban Ki-moon’s Special Representative Nickolay Mladenov also said the Iraqi Government, in cooperation with the Camp Liberty leadership, “needs to take immediate action to ensure that appropriate measures are put in place to maximise the security of the residents.”

He also urged the international community to urgently intensify efforts to find resettlement opportunities, describing it as “the ultimate guarantee of the security and safety” of MKO members.

Jordanian informed sources confirmed that the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, a.k.a. MKO seeking to camp in Jordan MEK and NCRI) has called on the Jordanian government to let the group camp inside the Arab country.

According to Habilian, informed sources in the Jordan’s parliament was quoted by Erem News Agency yesterday as saying that MKO has urged the Jordanian government, through a number of Parliamentarians, to permit the group to erect a camp in the deserts of this country.

“MKO has proposed to carry out the relocation of individuals from Camp Liberty in several groups,” the sources said, adding that MKO has also offered to pay all the costs of relocation as well as all the costs associated with building a camp providing Jordanian security forces.

In response, they have promised to give the camp to the government of Jordan with all facilities.

Earlier in 2012, Maryam Rajavi struggled to persuade the US officials to let them establish a camp at Jordan borders. Then, the official sources in Jordan announced that the country’s interior ministry has voiced firm opposition to the establishment of a camp to shelter the members of the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) along their borders.

ISIL using MKO’s armored vehicles

An Iraqi political analyst says the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant terrorists are using the MKO’s former armored vehicles which are capable of carrying missiles. ISIL using MKO’s armored vehicles

Dr. Ahmad Al-Sharifi told Habilian’s correspondent in Baghdad that the armored vehicles of the ISIL or DAESH are the same vehicles used by the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization, concluding that they share one purpose.

ISIL is an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group which claimed responsibility for the assassination of the Iranian technicians and workers who were working on the construction of the gas pipeline in Diyala province.

Al-Sharifi went on to describe the terrorist MKO group as the West’s pressure leverage against Iran.

Referring to some politicians’ support for the terrorist MKO group, al-Sharifi said supporters of the group are trying to portray the presence of these individuals in Iraq as a humanitarian issue.

He added that these supports are a quid pro que as the MKO provide their possibly mutual interests in return.

The analyst said Iraqis “are still putting pressure” on the MKO, and they are determined to expel the group out of Iraq.

MKO has occupied part of Iraq’s soil for nearly three decades, after it was deported from France in 1986. It enjoyed the support of the former Iraqi dictator and made a common cause with him during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

Maryam Rajavi shows solidarity with Jaish al-Adl terrorists

Ringleader of the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization condemned the execution of 16 terrorists in the southeastern city of Zahedan.

In its statement released on Saturday, the terrorist MKO group gave a cold shoulder to the terrorist attack in Saravan and killing of 14 Iranian border guards and described it as an “attack on a center of suppressive forces in Saravan”.

The Friday’s attack carried out by a group known as Jaish al-Adl left 14 Iranian border guards killed and 4 others wounded. The victims were a number of young soldiers who were on military service at a border post near border with Pakistan.

Condemning the execution of 16 men affiliated to terrorist and anti-Iranian groups who had been arrested, tried and sentenced to death several years ago, Maryam Rajavi urged “referral of the file” to the UN Security Council.

The MKO’s statement in support of the armed terrorist groups in southeastern parts of Iran is nothing but a gesture of solidarity by a group which claims that it is a “democratic opposition” which has “renounced violence.”
