Nejat [Rescue] Society, an Iranian NGO, has sent a delegation to London to brief policy and decision makers, human rights organisations and media on the US army handover of the Mojahedin-e Khalq’s (MKO, MeK, NCRI, PMOI) military base, Camp Ashraf, to the Iraqi military on January 1st 2009…In a meeting yesterday with Mr. Hugo Swire, MP, Chair of the Conservative Middle East Council and Chair of the UAE All-Party Group, Nejat delegates described the worsening human rights situation for the remaining captives inside Camp Ashraf.

Jordanian MPs advised not to attend PMOI conference

The only”benefit”that Jordan reaps from the participation of MPs in the MKO’s activities is straining relations with Tehran without any reason and laying obstacles to developing relations between the two countries. We are not saying this in order to defend the positions of Iran, but we are saying it out of concern for Jordan’s interests. Had the disagreement with Iran been over principled issues, we would have blessed the positions of MPs and pressed on their hands in confronting Iran. However, we are faced with political (and not personal) positions, which are against Jordan and of which Jordan is innocent. What does more injustice to Jordan than this?

Cult victims arrested in Finland need psychological help

Two leading Mojahedin-e Khalq members, Hadi Roshanravani (62) and Mohammad-Ali Jaberzadeh Ansari (60) have been arrested by Interpol on entering Finland some days ago. Iran-Interlink believes that extradition of the men to Iran will not serve anybody’s interests.we do believe that as members of a destructive cult (the Mojahedin-e Khalq) they must not be handed back to the MKO on their release. We urge the Finnish authorities to put aside the political rhetoric which surrounds the arrest of these victims and look at the evidence of psychological manipulation used by the cult to coerce and control its membership.

Iran demands extradition of “terrorists”

Two Iranian exiles detained on Sunday. Iran is demanding that Finland extradite two Iranian men whom it accuses of being members of the MKO/PMOI/MEK organisation, which it considers a terrorist group. The two were stopped while entering Finland on Sunday…The court let the men go, but they were ordered not to leave the country.The Ministry of Justice will decide on the extradition request. Helsingin Sanomat was not able to reach Minister of Justice Tuija Brax (Green).
