Iran Interlink Weekly Digest

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – 176

++ Following the death of Iran’s Ayatollah Rafsanjani only the Saudis and the MEK failed to express polite condolences worldwide. Several commentators responded to the MEK’s behaviour under the Saudi flag. Mohammad Hossein Sobhani talks about the histories of Ayat Rafsanjani and Massoud Rajavi. He concludes that with all Rafsanjani’s good and bad he at least had the guts to admit when he was wrong, and to change and adapt. The major difference between him and Rajavi is that hundreds of thousands of Iranian citizens filled the streets when he died. When Massoud Rajavi died it was left to a Saudi prince to break the news. Neither his wife nor his son cried for him and the location of his grave is still unknown. This is because he was a cult leader and didn’t want to be among the people, nor would he ever admit that he was wrong.

++ Habilian Association published a previously unpublished interview with Ayat Rafsanjani in which he talks about the MEK.

++ News from Albania this week reveals that Maryam Rajavi has resorted to sending not only high ranking MEK enforcers, but also NCRI members, specifically Manouchehr Hezarkhani, in an attempt to calm people down amongst growing dissent. The interesting slant of this visit was that Hezarkhani told the people in Tirana ‘whatever problems you experienced in Iraq was because it was a dictatorship and also because we had no money. Now, in Albania, we are in the hands of the Americans and we are also being paid. So, if you just hang on and don’t run away, we will begin to allow you a little more freedom than you had in Iraq.’

++ On the anniversary of the murder of nuclear scientist in Iran, Nejat Society and many others, remind us of the MEK’s role working for MOSSAD to conduct these assassinations in Iran. Nejat goes through Massoud history from candidate for election in Iran through all the changes till he ends up assassinating academics.

In English:

++ Mazda Parsi writes that although families of MEK hostages may have felt that their loved ones were in better conditions in Albanian under the auspices of the UNHCR, they are wrong and that the MEK has imposed ever tighter controls there as dissent grows. The article concludes: “The Albanian government also seems to be cooperating with the cult. As the MEK is described as “skillful manipulators of public opinion” by the RAND report, it is not surprising if the government of Albania turns blind eye on the huge human rights violations committed in the Cult of Rajavi.

“However, the UNHCR is definitely responsible for mental and physical problems of the refugees. As an international human rights body the UNHCR should not ignore the case of the MKO hostages who are under a systematic human rights violating cult.”

++ Anne Singleton had an hour-long interview with Gazeta Impakt, Albania. Singleton talked about a range of issues including the dangers the MEK poses to Albania and the country’s citizens as an organisation and as radicalised deviant individuals. She reminded us that the Americans had agreed to pay for de-radicalisation as part of the relocation package, but have since reneged on this part of the agreement. Singleton said that the MEK are like a hornet’s nest. Although we cannot see inside the MEK, we ‘hear the buzzing’ and know they are dangerous. Like hornets, however, we cannot just use a big stick and hit the nest, the danger will simply spill out. Instead, we must be like bee-keepers and use smoke to subdue the danger. This ‘smoke’ can be the families of MEK members who can talk with their loved ones and help de-radicalise them.

++ Iran Interlink reported that the MEK and Saudi Arabia were ‘on the wrong side of history’ as they failed to offer any condolences to Iran after the death of Ayatollah Rafsanjani. Major countries from East to West politely offered their condolences. The piece reminds us that although the MEK tried on several occasions to assassinate Rafsanjani, after the fall of Saddam Hussein, Massoud Rajavi wrote an open letter to him asking him to ‘consider’ him and his MEK. Rafsanjani later indicated in an interview that the MEK was too tainted ever to be rehabilitated.

++ Press TV announced that Iran’s security forces had arrested an unnamed MKO member in Isfahan. “The terrorist had been identified … before entering the country”. He had “come to Iran with the aim of creating chaos during the funeral of …Rafsanjani”, said the report. Anne Khodabandeh wrote on her Facebook page: “If anyone ever had any doubt that continued Western support for the MEK is the BEST gift ever for the hardliners in Iran. The MEK constantly provide them with an excuse (the threat of violence by regime change proponents) to crack down on civil dissent. No peaceful indigenous opposition can grow or develop as long as the MEK is still around.

“Iranians despise the group. Americans and Iran’s hardliners both LOVE them. If they didn’t exist, they’d have to make them up. Now we see why.”

++ Representatives from European based ‘No to Terrorism and Cults Movement’ attended a seminar in the European Parliament last week. The seminar addressed Social Media concerns. Mr Arshad, president of NTCM spoke to delegates about the exploitation of social media by cultic groups such as the MEK, ISIS, AQ and the Taliban.

MEK imprison members in Albania incommunicado

Mr. Chaseb Beyt Mashaal is the suffering father of one of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Cult hostages.

Mr. Beyt Mashaal has had no contact with his dear son: Malek for long years. He several times went in front of MKO Camps in Iraq along with other MKO members’ families. Their only demand was to be able to visit their loved ones who were kept within the Camp; however the MKO Cult leaders rejected their plea.

MKO members’ relocation to Albania was a good news for families who were worried about the security and safety of their loved ones in the war-torn country of Iraq.

After all the MKO members moved to Albania, the MKO hostages’ families felt more hopeful to be able to contact their loved ones. However the Mujahedin Cult has imprisoned members in Albania incommunicado as well.

Mr. Beyt Mashaal also is waiting to hear from his dear son who has transferred to Albania.

MEK and Saudis isolated as world leaders send condolences for Rafsanjani’s death

Hundreds of thousands of mourners flooded Tehran today as the funeral of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani took place.

World leaders from around the globe expressed their condolences. Rafsanjani was acknowledged by Western commentators to be a pragmatist and reformer who had sought closer relations with America and Europe over the years.

However, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was notably silent.

Instead of expressing condolences in a dignified manner, the Saudi rulers used the national TV channel to broadcast an interview with an operative of the notorious MEK terrorist cult.

The MEK tried on several occasions to assassinate Rafsanjani. The first attempt in 1981 came when the MEK planted a bomb at the Hezb Jomhouri headquarters resulting in the deaths of 72 leading personalities of the new Islamic Republic. Rafsanjani was targeted but hadn’t turned up that day.

After the fall of Saddam Hussein, MEK leader Massoud Rajavi wrote an open letter to Rafsanjani from his hideout asking him to consider him and his organisation. Rafsanjani did not respond directly but in an interview emphasized that the MEK could never gain legitimacy after all the years of mercenary work for Saddam and later for Mossad.

The turnout today demonstrated that the people of Iran are willing to put their differences and their criticisms aside to mourn the passing of a significant establishment figure.

In the current climate of threat from Daesh and AQ and smaller regional terrorists, Iranian people look to their government to protect from these external threats. The last thing they want is a Saudi-like Kingdom run by mad men like the Rajavis whom they have come to know inside out over the last three decades.

As world leaders acknowledge this reality, the Saudis and the MEK find themselves isolated on the wrong side of history again.

MKO members in Albania feel invisible, they go unheard by the authorities

“The only thing I wish is that I meet Ahmad and embrace him tightly”, said Mrs. Abdi, a suffering mother whose dear son; Ahmad is enslaved behind the bars of the Cult of Rajavi in Tirana, Albania.

After the entire MKO members were transferred to Albania, Tirana, in last September, their suffering families felt a little relieved as they thought that their loved ones would no more be under rocket attacks like when they were in Iraq from time to time.

Perhaps families of the MKO members felt less concerned over the living conditions of their loved ones because they thought that this time the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was in charge of the transfer and protection of their children and of the body is required with the safety and protection of refugees.

Actually, the UNHCR is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another state, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. As a natural result of the UNHCR’s duties, the MKO members must be able to choose for their future life in Albania or any other country with their own free will.

Nevertheless, in practice, the conditions have deteriorated for the hostages of the group in their camp in Tirana. Mrs. Abdi is an active member of Nejat Society – Tehran Branch. Enduring much hardship and sufferings during the years she was separated from her son. She has done her utmost efforts to liberate Ahmad. She traveled to the war-torn country of Iraq several times. She picketed in front of MKO Camps in Iraq along with other families asking to visit their beloved ones. His son is now in Albania; much farther than before and in a more isolated place than Camp Liberty and Camp Ashraf, Iraq.

While the primary purpose of the UNHCR is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees, members of the Cult of Rajavi are deprived from their most basic human rights. For instance, they are not even allowed to learn English as a refugee. Learning English is of course a vital skill for all refugees and migrants, helping them support integration and employment. It is particularly important for refugee women and girls, whose educational experiences in the cult have been very limited, and who may face additional isolation without this skill –particularly now that the cult regulations forbids socializing with the new society.

During year, UNHCR’s mission has gradually been expanded to include protecting and providing humanitarian assistance to whom it describes as persons "of concern". Hostages in the Cult of Rajavi (the MKO/ MEK) are definitely some of those “persons of concern”. They are victims of a very manipulative mind control system that controls each and every aspect of their life.

As a matter of fact, cult members who are taken as hostages in the group’s residence in Tirana are bearing a much more choking atmosphere than what they endured in Iraq. The cult leaders have increased control over the residents because the cult underwent a great rise in the process of defections immediately after the first cargos of members arrived in Albania.  Since then, the cult authorities besieged their loyal forces to impose more control over their hostages. For example, they have allegedly imprisoned three female members of the group’s Elite Council after they asked to leave the group following their relocation in Albania. Ms. Fatemeh Alizadeh is one of these recently defectors, the two others’ names will be published in a more suitable condition, according to a website run by defectors of the group. The report states that Ms. Alizadeh’s family’s attempts to make contact with her have been failed so far, since she has no access to the outside world and is held captive by the cult.

The Albanian government also seems to be cooperating with the cult. As the MEK is described as “skillful manipulators of public opinion” by the RAND report, it is not surprising if the government of Albania turns blind eye on the huge human rights violations committed in the Cult of Rajavi.

However, the UNHCR is definitely responsible for mental and physical problems of the refugees. As an international human rights body the UNHCR should not ignore the case of the MKO hostages who are under a systematic human rights violating cult.

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest

Iran Interlink Weekly Digest – 175

++ In an interview with VOA’s Mehdi Falahati, an individual named Morteza Sadeghi claimed that the man called Ali Motamed, whose killing last year in the Netherlands had been linked to drugs and crime, was in fact somebody else. Sadeghi said the dead man was Mohammad Reza Kolahi who was responsible for blowing up the Hezb Jomhouri headquarters in Iran in 1981 and that this meant Iran was behind his death last year. What appears suspicious about this interview is that Sadeghi is a known associate of the MEK and there would be no reason to interview him based on his personal standing (he is an unknown person in any field) and in addition, why now, after a year, has this issue been raised without any reason? Mehdi Khoshal, who has written extensively about the MEK, gives his own analysis in an article. Khoshal compares Sadeghi’s claim to Prince Turki’s announcement that Massoud Rajavi is dead. Referring to his own book ‘The Evaporated’, Khoshal says that whenever the MEK wants to change face, some of its inconvenient members must be evaporated. After shifting from Saddam to the West and claiming to have given up armed struggle to become politicians, the first to disappear was Massoud Rajavi – you can’t have a political movement if he is still alive, says Khoshal. Then come people like Kolahi and Keshmiri – notorious in the MEK for killing many people. Khoshal says that after a year of silence we cannot know for certain whether Kolahi really was the man in the Netherlands, but it is clear that for legal and expedient reasons such people need to be ‘evaporated’ from the MEK membership. And as Maryam Rajavi continues to change the face of the MEK, Khoshal says we must expect more such disappearances.

++ There are reports emerging from Albania of the involvement of psychologists and psychiatrists to treat both those inside the MEK and former members. Now the group is out of Iraq it has been impossible to hide the fact that many of them are seriously deranged and unmanageable even for the MEK. Others need extensive and urgent medical treatment. Maryam Rajavi has tried to supress this news but it has come out anyway. At the same time the families are writing articles and letters to ask ‘why does Albania tolerate the continued incommunicado imprisonment of our children?’

++ Edvard Termidor writes about Maryam Rajavi’s ridiculous hopes and dreams after the Trump election. He says, the MEK never have any policies or activities of their own but always wait for someone to make a mistake or for a propitious event. Termidor uses the Persian proverb of waiting for the yoghurt dish to break so they can opportunistically lick up the spillage. Even when they see that nothing is ever given to them, they still claim that they will benefit. Iran Fanous, also writing about Trump, says 2016 was the year of the good, the bad and the ugly. The ugly ones are those of the same character as Rajavi – waiting to see what they can get out of it.

In English:

++ In English articles and news, Albania has become the focus of attention. Families, formers and analysists all question the Albanian government’s handling of the MEK presence in that country. In one piece of bad news for the MEK, CIA chief John Brennan indicated during a recent visit to Tirana that the new Trump administration would no longer fund groups like the MEK. Zahra Moeini addressed Edi Rama in a letter titled ‘Who is in charge of the safety and security of transferred MEK members in your country? She reported that MEK enforcer Medhi Abrishamchi had recently visited Tirana where he told members ‘Albania is under our control and we can do what we like here’. He also told the followers that the MEK could ‘destroy’ their refugee cases if they step out of line. Moeini asks Rama if his government really has given permission to the cult leaders to threaten the stranded hostages who are isolated from their families and from the outside world.

Who is in charge of the safety and security of transferred MKO members into your country?

Open letter to PM Edi Rama. Who is in charge of the safety and security of transferred Mojahedin Khalq (Rajavi cult) members in to your country?

Your Excellency Edi RAMA , the prime minister of Albania

Greetings,

I am Mrs. Zahra MOEINI, the separated member of people’s mojahedin organization of Iran ( Rajavi cult) , the terrorist cult which is residing in your country . Once I wrote a letter to you in 25.02.2016 and in that letter I warned you and your government that you and your government should be vigilant and careful about the operatives of this cult in your country. In that letter I emphasized that the only hope for those middle aged and old members of this cult who have been stuck in Rajavi cult under severe and harsh condition , is to be free of all those organizational barriers and obstacles in your country and in that letter I explained to you about the crimes of those cult operatives in your country , for that reason I urge you not to allow that this notorious and criminal cult take advantage of your country like they did in Iraq during Saddam HUSSEIN’s government and peace and tranquility be taken away from your country and your people .

In recent weeks we have received some information about those stranded and stuck members in your country that Mr. Mehdi ABRISHAMCHI , one of the high ranking officers of this cult , and some other operatives by the direct order of Mrs. Maryam RAJAVI , the cult leader , have been sent from Paris to Albania and he specially has been ordered to stay and work in this notorious cult in your country . His duty in that cult in your country is to yell and threaten the members who are dissident and want to separate from this cult , some of his threats against those members are as follows:

Albania is in our control and just with a simple phone call to internal minister and immigration office in Albania , we can do whatever we want .

The Albanian government is in our control and we can do whatever we want .

Do not think and give this hope to yourself that the UNHCR based in Albania support you , no the value and the power of UNHCR in Albania is like the value and the power of one ordinary person and they do nothing for you.

We have enough power and ability in Albania to destroy your refugee cases in Albania like we did against those separated members in Europe and in here , like Ehsan BIDI and Siyavosh RASTAR. The ones who want to separate from us , they should know that if they talk against our organization or if they get in touch with other separated members , we will block and destroy their refugee cases .

Your Excellency,

The question is how does Mr. Mehdi ABRISHAMCHI , claim that he and his cult has the upper hand in dealing with those members in Albania ? Do another Saddam Hussein support them, so he can talk and threaten like that ? This is a question that the Albanian government should respond and they should answer this question as well , how do Mr. Abrishamchi and other cult operatives threaten the cult members to death and destruction of their refugee cases in Albania?

Your excellency,

Have you and your government given such a permission to the cult operatives in your country like Mr. Abrishamchi and others, to talk and threaten freely and publicly against those stranded and stuck members who have not been able to see their relatives and loved ones and been separated from the free world for long time because of this terrorist cult?

All the best,

Zahra Moeini, Iran Zanan Association, Germany

Albania: John Kerry brought MEK terrorists, John Brennan warns of their risk

After the “gift” that John Kerry gave Albania, now CIA director John Bernnan has warned Tirana of the possible huge risk that the Mojahedin Khalq (MEK) terrorist group poses to Albania through its presence in the capital.

According to Fatos Klosi, former director of the National Intelligence Service, the American CIA chief has warned Albania that Donald Trump will renounce support for the MEK terrorists and it will be the Albanian Government itself which must deal with internal security and must confront a group trained militarily from the time of Saddam Hussein. Fatos Klos said, “The visit to Tirana of the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Brennan, has not gone unnoticed, as it could not have been intended that a state senior discuss only small and unimportant issues”. The former head of the National Intelligence Service, Fatos Klos, said in a statement to the newspaper Today, that he has listed three main issues for which the head of the CIA is believed to have arrived in Tirana. According Klos, one of the issues that has been the subject of discussion between the head of the CIA and top state officials, it is the question of the Mojahedin. The former Albanian head of espionage argues that the new president of the United States, Donald Trump has said he will pursue a new policy, focusing on economic growth in the country and that every member of NATO should contribute financially toward its own security.

In these conditions, Klos explained that America will not protect Albania, nor will it finance the Mojahedin. According to Klos, a change of US policy on the issue of the Mojahedin will increase the risk to Albania from Iran after the Albanian government undertook to accommodate three thousand representatives of the Iranian opposition, that the country considers terrorists. On the other hand, there is a risk from the Mojahedin itself. A lot of these issues would have been discussed, including the Iranian issue. “The new American president will escalate tensions with the Iranians and the Iranians will raise complaints against us because Albania has undertaken to accommodate these terrorists. The head of the CIA comes to discuss such issues. His visit to Tirana is an assessment of Albania’s role and partnership with the US, “said Klos”.

Absurd Propaganda of the MKO and its Supporters on Syria

The endless propaganda of the Mujahedin Khalq (the MKO/ MEK/the Cult of Rajavi) seems to be running out of new ideas for its disinformation champagne against the Iranian government. The new so-called revelations published by the MKO and then echoed by the Washington Times on what they call “Iranian crimes and atrocities” in Syria, clearly indicates that the group is making too much effort to show itself off as a reliable source of intelligence on Iran. However, its recent propaganda was almost completely ignored by the mainstream media –except its two main paid western tribunes, the Washington Times and Fox News. [1]

Today, even the Western propaganda about Aleppo is denounced.  Peter Ford was the UK’s Ambassador to Syria from 2003 to 2006.In an interview with Radio BBC he challenges the West-run misinformation about conflicts in Syria. He criticizes the West for its wrong policy — to “have clung for too long to the illusion that the so-called ‘moderate opposition’ would overcome Assad”.  [2]

“Surely now, with the Government’s recovery of Aleppo, the veils should fall from our eyes and we should look reality in the face: Assad is not going to be removed by force of arms or at the negotiating table,” Peter Ford tells BBC. This is what frightens the MKO. While this British politician suggests that the West should stop supporting a failed and divided opposition and moreover the newly elected president of the Unites States Donald Trump is seeking a normalized relation with Russia and fighting against ISIS in Syria, the MKO agenda to demonize Tehran’s role in Syria is an already failed tactic. [3]

The MKO’s hasty propaganda shows its severe concerns about a normalized Iran-West relation. Massoud Khodabandeh, former MKO member and Director at Middle East Strategy Consultants write in the Huffington Post, “The MEK pretends it has some kind of insider knowledge which it can apparently tap into whenever it needs to make a point. Iran, however, has made no secret of its involvement in the Syrian conflict. Newspapers and state-run media probably tell us in much greater detail than the Washington Times report about the deployment of fighters and how they are funded. The dead from this conflict are mourned very publicly inside Iran. It is disingenuous of the MEK to merely recycle this information as a ‘revelation’.” [4]

Khodabandeh accurately labels the US journalists and officials who are deceived by the MKO propaganda as “gullible” but it should be noted that sometimes the biased media just seek to falsify facts in line with the agenda of certain politicians. “We’ve seen not what some allege to be a meltdown of humanity but a meltdown of sanity,” says Ford about the allegations of the West. “Where are, where’s any evidence of the alleged atrocities, of the Guernica, of the massacres, the genocide, the holocaust?” [5]

And about the fabrications made by the Cult of Rajavi on the Iranian government, Khodabandeh asserts, “the MEK is notorious for its role as a misinformation and propaganda outlet.” He denounces the MKO writing, “Variously over the years, the MEK has been exposed for false reporting and intelligence in issues such as the P5+1 nuclear negotiations with Iran. After passing one piece of genuine intelligence in 2002 which it was given by Mossad, the MEK continued to pass fake information to the IAEA so as to disrupt the negotiation process, and to enable the US to impose severe sanctions against Iran.” [6]

Although, the MKO tries “to muddy the waters of truth” and the West “flies in the face of reality” on the issue of Syria, the truth is concretely clear and verifiable.
