The MEK philosophy mixes Marxism and Islam. Formed in the 1960s, the organization was expelled from Iran after the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and its primary support came from the former Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein since the late 1980s. The MEK’s history is filled with anti-Western attacks as well as terrorist attacks on the interests of the clerical regime in Iran and abroad
17 June 2003, over 1200 police officers carried out a huge raid in a Paris suburb. The target was a large complex of houses in Auvers-sur-Oise which had been turned into the international headquarters of the Mojahedin-e Khalq organisation (aka National Council of Resistance of Iran or NCRI). Up until March-April 2003, the Mojahedin/NCRI command centre had been in Iraq. It moved from there with the outbreak of war. Mojahedin co-leader Maryam Rajavi and about 160 of her closest aides were arrested during the raid.
In 1994 US Department of State gave a report about Mojahedin Khalq Organization, Permanently headed by cult leaders Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. It gave the most up-to-date and researched report in 40 pages describing the nature of the Mojahedin, their internal relations as well as their involvement in killing Kurds, Iraqis, Iranians as well as Americans. The report revealed their total dependency on Saddam Hussein.
Germany has reaffirmed the terrorist status of the MKO grouplet in its 2005 terror report released by the German domestic intelligence service Verfassungsschutz on Monday.
Dr. Howells: The Mujahedin-e Khalq Organisation (MEK) is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the United Kingdom. The MEK appears on the list of persons, groups and entities which are subject to restrictive measures with a view to combating terrorism under Council Regulation 2580/2001-EC. The Court of First Instance of the European Communities is currently scrutinising the process by which the MEK was included on that list, and the UK has made representations to the Court. Judgment in that case is awaited.

MEK is listed as a terrorist group. They were involved in some pretty awful and bloody incidents, including — involving American citizens.

Adesignation as an FTO persists for two years, after which theSecretary may redesignate the entity as an FTO for a suc-ceeding two-year period upon finding that the statutory cir-cumstances still exist.
