According to Le Parisien; former members of MKO-have accused MKO leaders of violating human rights and freedoms as well as torturing and endangering the lives of other people.

MEK took up residence in Iraq, where they were given sanctuary and armed by Saddam Hussein. They fought against their own country on the Iraqi side during the long Iran-Iraq war.
