Mujahedin Khalq Organization members' families

Families vow to stop the use of their children as Rajavi’s human torches

On 3 June families encamped outside Camp Ashraf waiting for news of their children celebrated Iranian Mothers’ Day. The fact they are separated from not only their long-lost children who are being held hostage inside the camp by MKO leader Massoud Rajavi, but are also far away from their other family members back home, did not deter them from having a good time. They remain cheerful and optimistic. They will succeed eventually in their aims.

The families have warned Rajavi and his Western backers that they will not allow their children to be used as human sacrifices as other MKO members have in the past. Pictures of the self-immolations ordered after the arrest in Paris in 2003 of Maryam Rajavi were raised above the gates of Camp Ashraf to remind the world of the crimes of the Rajavi cult against their own members.

Two days later on Saturday 5 June Shahab Husseini son of Mohammad Hussein born in Tehran, escaped from Camp Ashraf. Shahob Husseini had been with the Mojahedin-e Khalq for twenty four years. Since the Government of Iraq took responsibility for the camp in 2009, a steady stream of MKO members have successfully managed to overcome the immense difficulties imposed on them by the cult leaders and have managed to leave. KRG officers: MKO slamming Iranian shelling is futile

Kirkuk, June 3 (AKnews) – The Iranian government resistence organization, Mojahedine Khalqe Iran (MKI), slamed the Iranian bombardment of Kurdistan territories in a declaration on June 1, asking the international bodies to react against the transgression, while Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) officials believed that the statement is of no consequences. …

Kurds, along with the Iraqi Federal Government expect their neighbors to respect the territorial sovereignty of our homeland, according to Falah Mustafa, KRG Chief for Foreign Relations.
“Both Iraqi Ministry of Defense and KRG have taken positive steps in calling Iran halt its bombardments against our region”, Mustafa said.…

“The statement by MKI is just an extension of their efforts against all the policies of Iran, whatever they could be”, the Chief for Kurdistan Strategic Studies Centre, Farid Asasard told AKnews, noting that this is not the first time the organization releases such declarations.

Any attempt by this organization to thaw relations with Kurds will be overlooked for they do not enjoy the blessing of Kurds”, Asasard argued, explaining “Because in suppressing the Kurdish uprising, this organization supported the fallen Baathists regime.

This statement cannot wash away their stained vision in the memory of the Kurdish people”, he believed. …

MKI, established in 1965 to topple down the then Shah Regime in Iran, conducted a serious of aggressions against some top Iranian personalities between 1980 to 1990, when it came to be recognized more as a militant sect. It was blacklisted as a terrorist organization by the US and Europe in 2001. However, in 2009 Europe agreed to restore the legitimacy to the organization.

Iran hit out at EU’s approach towards MKO Terrorist group

‘Tehran Declaration positive step’

Iran’s Parliament speaker says the Tehran Declaration brokered by Brazil and Turkey roughly two weeks ago was yet another positive step by the Islamic Republic towards confidence building in the nuclear issue.
Iran hit out at EU's approach towards MKO Terrorist group
"Tehran expects nations such as Italy which have a history of friendship with Iran to adopt a fair and independent stance on its nuclear issue", Larijani was quoted by the IRIB as telling the Italian Ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday.

Larijani then hit out at the European Union’s approach toward the MKO terrorist grouping.

"Is the removal of a notorious international terror group from the list of terrorist organizations by certain European countries respect for human rights?" asked Larijani.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iran’s Parliament speaker highlighted the need to further enhance already flourishing ties between Tehran and Rome.

"The people of both countries enjoy deep-rooted cultural and trade ties", added the top parliamentarian.

Larijani further underlined that the Iranian Parliament welcomes promotion of reciprocal ties in all areas.

The top Italian diplomat, in turn, said the international media blitz against Iran and the realities on the ground are poles apart, adding Tehran and Rome should work together closely to keep Iran’s image from being tarnished across the globe.

Israeli lobby has Dropped the Dead Donkey

Israeli lobby – European Parliament branch – has ‘dropped the dead donkey’

In a new development, Struan Stevenson and Vidal Qadras have stopped their support for the Rajavis, leaders of the Mojahedin-e Khalq cult.
the rush to get back to issues involving Iran, they have abandoned the MKO. As they say in the newsroom, they have ‘dropped the dead donkey’.
The former advocates of the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation (MKO, MEK, NCRI, Rajavi cult) moved to the Iraq Delegation to make best use of the cult when the MKO issue became defunct in relation to Iran and became a more useful tool in support of the Saddamists in Iraq.

But the MKO failed to do anything for them in Iraq, and the Israeli lobby has decided to get involved again in demonizing Iran.

It is particularly pertinent at precisely the time when Israeli soldiers killed several aid workers on a ship in international waters – what it described as a ‘PR disaster’! which fed into the hands of Iran.

In a protest, MEPs Stevenson and Vidal-Qadras, from the Iraq Delegation, heckled the Iranian Foreign Minister during his visit to the European Parliament.

The significance of this is that in the rush to get back to issues involving Iran, they have abandoned the MKO. As they say in the newsroom, they have ‘dropped the dead donkey’.

Mujahedin in Denial

Out of fear, the MEK leadership has been unable to cope with an ongoing challenge regarding their loss of “protected persons status” which was issued to them, under the Geneva Convention, shortly after the war in Iraq began. But since the Iraqi government took over in 2004, the “protected person’s status” has been defunct and Mujahedin Khalq leaders and members have been in a state of denial. The reality is that they have had a downfall in Iraq, and the Iraqi For the MKO, the current situation is dismal, the loss of their status is daunting, and yet in their denial they cling to this obsolete status.government is determined to expel them from Camp Ashraf, the territory which the MKO has occupied for more than two decades.

According to Wijdan Mikhail Salim, one of the Iraqi Human Rights Ministers, "Conditions for asylum seeking as well as the terms of Geneva Conventions do not apply to the members of the group [MKO]" [1]

Furthermore, a reporter for TIME, Rania Abouzeid, reports in her coverage of Camp Ashraf that “[t]he obligation to treat the MEK as protected persons under the law of war ended when the Coalition Provisional Authority handed over responsibility for governing Iraq to the Iraqi interim government in June 2004 which ended the occupation of Iraq.” Abouzeid articulates that the MEK has insisted they maintain this status—one of the members even showed her a photo ID with no expiration date. In response Abouzeid reports that according to a Western official, “protected person status is never a permanent status as it applies only during circumstances of armed conflict or occupation.’” [2]

In fact, in February 2010 it was published in the UK House of Lords’ website, that "the view of UK Government is that with the formal end of hostilities and the transfer of responsibilities for the Camp to the Iraqi authorities; any claim to protected persons status by the camp’s residents under the fourth Geneva Convention has ceased to apply. That view is shared by the United Nations. The camp leadership has been given that information."[3]

Although camp leadership has essentially been told by the Iraqi government that they are no longer protected, the members are still being told they are. Members are still isolated from the outside world, and they are regularly exposed to the groups’ own media. This propaganda campaign, an emblematic tactic for the MKO, keeps members subdued and believing that the organization maintains strength. For leadership, such misinformation serves to systematically reinforce a delusion (which they believe puts them in power in Iran); it also serves to protect the deluded members. However, this campaign will only make it more difficult for members once they find out the truth of their status, and are faced with repercussions as a result of the group’s terrorist history. For the MKO, the current situation is dismal, the loss of their status is daunting, and yet in their denial they cling to this obsolete status.

Mujahedin Khalq Organization members' families

Picketing families at Camp Ashraf gates remain cheerful and optimistic

For the past four months the families have been asking to meet with their relatives who remain captive inside the camp. The families have established a small camp of their own to out-wait the Mojahedin’s stubborn refusal to comply with their simple request.

The families are cheerful and optimistic. They are being encouraged and facilitated by the Iraqi authorities, who also want the Mojahedin to comply with demands of the Iraqi Government.

The Mojahedin have accused these families of being ‘agents of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry’ who have come to kill them. Rajavi has indoctrinated his followers with fear and loathing of their own mothers and fathers.

Of course, the work of dissolving a mind-control cult is not easy. Cult experts would agree that the two groups of people who most threaten the leaders’ control over members’ minds are the ex-members and the families of current members. This is no different in the case of the Mojahedin-e Khalq. Having been pushed into a corner by the revelations of the ex-members, the cult now faces the absolute determination of these families to achieve their aim. The families will stay at Camp Ashraf until they have freed their children.

Picketing families in front of Camp Ashraf appeal to the Red Cross

International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC)

Dear Sir/Madam

With respect,
We the families of the people taken hostage inside Ashraf Garrison have been picketing outside the gates of the camp for the last four months in a bid to have free and unfettered access to our children. Unfortunately, the leaders of Mojahedin Khalq do not cooperate in any way and resist allowing us to meet our children. They have now started issuing false claims in the Iraqi and international media claiming that we are a threat to their security and that we mean to harm our own children! This is absurd. Would sick and elderly mothers and desperate pensioner fathers or brothers and sisters who are worried about their siblings have any bad intention against their own loved ones?
We only want to meet our children in a free environment and ask them about their situation and perhaps be of some comfort to their deep wounds.
Anyone who has a child may understand the pain and suffering of the people in both sides of this garrison.
Dear Sir/Madam,

Do you know that many of these captives are POWs from the time of Iran-Iraq war who have been literally sold by Saddam to this organisation? Do you know that many of these captives have been deceived and brought against their will to this Dark Ages garrison? Do you know what has happened to the innocent children in this organisation when they forced them to leave their parents and have been brought up in other countries and now have been transferred back to the camp? Do you know that many are seriously ill and don’t you think it is better for them to get medical help through their families now? Do you know that some of these detainees have suffered some kind of imprisonment for about 30 years? Whether Saddam’s prisons like Abu Ghraib prison or the prisons inside camp Ashraf? Do you know some have not even had telephone contact with their families for the last twenty odd years? And do you know that some of the families did not even know that their children are alive until now that they have found out that their loved ones were not allowed to contact them? These are some examples of the suffering which needs much more than a letter to explain.

We are begging your humanitarian organisation to help us visit our loved ones outside this garrison so that some fathers who have been now abandoned by doctors (having not got a long time to live) could see their children for the last time.

May God help you, us and our long suffering children.
