An Interview with MKO former members

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:”>The Italian Radio (RAI-GRR), in the program ’’ Voices of the world’’, published a report on the MKO, sent by its reporter in Iran, Bruno Rufolo .the main axis of the report are as the followings:

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial”> -the organization struggles to overthrow the Islamic Republic and has been in the FTO list of EU and US for years.

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial”> – The reporter interviewed a former member of the group who left the group and was granted amnesty by the Iranian Regime and is now working for Nejat Association that cares about the affairs of the defectors of MKO and tries to help them be received by the society once more. The visit was made in the office of Nejat Association. He says:” I don’t want the others to repeat my mistakes.” He compares the totalitarian nature of the organization to that of a cult, explaining that in 1995, he was recruited by the group in Vienne where he had gone for education. He had been in Iraq until 2001 and after several terrorist operations, he was arrested in Iran and was imprisoned for 5 years, then he declared his regret and was released.

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial”> – The report reads that:” an Iranian intelligence expert revealed that the organization is able to launch terrorist attacks in Europe. It seems that MKO has an influence in Brussel organizations something that makes Tehran be on the alert. The 27 members of European Union are still opposed to the removal of the group from terror list and the Supreme Court issued a ruling on the freezing of the MKO’s assets. The she-guru of the organization Maryam Rajavi went to Brussels a few months ago and her supporters in Washington are not a few. The group might have revealed the Iranian nuclear program in the past.

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:”>- The reporter continued by asking a question on the nowadays role of the organization, to answer the question, a terrorism expert Guidio Olimpio says:” in the past, the organization was involved in violent activities in terrorist forms but they have mainly dedicated their activities to the opposition since a few years ago and they are now definitly more active, although they don’t have the previous supporters.”

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:”>- the reporter mentions that the organization fought against the regime of Shah in the 1970’s but after the revolution they were defeated by ayatollah Khomeini’s partisans, so they sought refugee in Iraq and were used as mercenaries by Saddam Hussein to launch terrorist operations inside Iran. After the occupation of Iraq, the 4000 member of the group went under the protection of American forces. They have no support among Iranian people. According to former members, the leaders of MKO force the members to absolute abeyance.

"Verdana","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:”>Mrs. Singleton, a defector of MEK, in an interview on BBC said:” when I was in the organization, I thought that I am superior to normal people. The group’s leaders prevented us from having any contact with our family. We were completely separated from outside world.”

Leila Jazayeri

Getting to know MKO hooligan Leila Jaza’eri

On 21st of February 2008, a court session was held at the Palace of Justice in Paris to deal with a complaint made by Mr. Alain Chevalerias, a French journalist and the author of the book called Brule Vif (Burned Alive), against the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organisation of Iran (MKO). In his book Mr Chevalerias explains the motivation behind the self-immolations of about 10 people in several European cities which occurred after Maryam Rajavi – wife and lieutenant of Mas’ud Rajavi the charismatic leader of the destructive MKO cult – and some of her aides were arrested in Paris on 17th of June 2003. Following publication of this book the Rajavi cult denounced Mr Chevalerias in one of its websites called Iran Focus, and accused him of being an agent of the Iranian secret services as well as that of France. The author of the book considered these defamatory accusations as an insult to his dignity and personality and filed a lawsuit against the MKO in the French judicial system. In the court session a person called Leila Jaza’eri from England was called by the MKO advocate as a witness. Here we give some details about her background .

A’zam Farahani Mullah-Hassani Kohneh, who has now changed her name to Leila Jaza’eri is an active supporter of the proscribed terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organisation of Iran (MKO) in London. In the early 80s she married another supporter of the MKO called Hassan Jaza’eri who later died in Ashraf Camp, the main military and ideological training base of the MKO in Iraq. Their son Hanif Jaza’eri is also an active supporter of the MKO in London at the moment and in charge of ‘Iran Focus’ the above mentioned site of the MKO. Leila Jaza’eri persistently claims that her late husband was executed in Iran. The MKO has also named him in its published list of those who have been executed by the Islamic regime of Tehran. But in fact Hassan Jaza’eri was sent to an Iraqi MKO base for military training and during one training session in Camp Ashraf became overheated and fell into a semi-conscious state. He was taken to a car and left there unattended with no medication until he died. Hassan suffered a genetic heart disorder which the MKO was fully aware of at the time. In 1981 Leila Jaza’eri took part in the violent occupation of the Iranian embassy in London which resulted in her serving a prison sentence for a few months. She was sent to Iraq to the MKO base several times. The last time she was in Iraq and in the military base of the MKO was during the First Gulf War. Leila Jaza’eri, along with her sister Maryam and her brother-in-law, illegally sold a rented house using forged documents. The brother-in-law later escaped to Iran with his wife after this act of fraud. A’zam had a lawsuit against her in that respect and that is why she is now using the name Leila Jaza’eri. The police still have an open file on the person called A’zam Mullah-Hassani. The Jaza’eri family, particularly Hassan’s sister, have denounced her because of her actions and do not wish her to use their family name since she has remarried again and of course divorced. They are also disappointed with her activities, in particular dragging Hassan’s son Hanif Jaza’eri into a proscribed destructive cult. They believe that Hanif who is over 20 years old now is a very smart and talented person who could have a bright future if his mother would not exploit him in favour of the MKO. Leila Jaza’eri has been involved in several violent activities against the disaffected and dissatisfied members of the MKO. She has personally disrupted many meetings in London and other cities such as Paris and New York where the MKO believed the meetings participants would challenge and expose the policies of the leaders of the organisation. She is known to be an active thug of the MKO against its critics and in that respect has files with the police in several countries. In 2005 she was arrested after she tried to disrupt a meeting held by some critics of the MKO in London. She badly harassed one English reporter at the session.  She has also tried several times to bribe or otherwise threaten some internet companies to close websites run by the MKO’s critics and has also tried to feed the police with false documents against those who have left the MKO, including making maliciously false accusations of child abuse.  Leila Jazaâeri makes approaches to British institutions including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Houses of Parliament under specifically fabricated entities such as the Iranian Women’s Society or Anglo-Iranian Association and in this manner meets people who do not wish to meet with the MKO or its alias National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCR). She also had an interview with the Birmingham post arranged by Lord Corbett who supports the MKO in which she made some false accusations against the dissidents of the Rajavi cult. She is very much afraid of her true identity being revealed. The above mentioned facts and many other details can be testified to by several people in Britain and elsewhere who know A’zam Mullah-Hassani (aka Leila Jaza’eri) very well and are willing to give evidence in this manner. The Jaza’eri family is one example of such witnesses to her lies and thuggish behaviour. Nejat Society

Solh (Peace) Association representative meets the Vice President of Norwegian Union of Journalist

Oslo, 12.03.2008, Wednesday: Representative of Anjomane Solh Norway (Peace Association Norway), Mr.Ghasem Ghezi met the Vice President of Norwegian Union of Journalist(NJ), Mr. Kjetel Haanes  at the sideline of the venue of the seminar arranged by Helsinki Committee here in Oslo. Mr.Ghasem Ghezi explained the critical situation of Iraq specially 120 disaffected people from the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MOK) in the country. He drew the attention of the vice president of NJ to the detail in the context and handed over a letter of Anjomane Solh in the context. Mr. Kjetel Haanes courteously received the letter and desire for further projection of the issue  ——————–  Subject: Humanitarian issue of 120 disaffected of Muhajedine Khalq in Iraq

You might be acknowledged of dozens of the peoples who had been separated from Iraq based Ashraf Camp of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization of Iran, were held at a camp namely Temporary International Presence Facilities (TIPF) in Iraq.  According to the reports received in the last few days by Anjomane Solh, the Peace Association Norway, about 120 people of the disaffected people escaped from the TIPF in a extremely grave condition. Some of them might be remained in a terrible position in different cities of Iraq or some of them might be able to reach near with the borders of Jordan and Turkey to ease them from danger circumstances of Iraq .  We want to raise our deep concern about the situation of these people. You are aware that after the fall of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003, TIPF was established provisionally alongside Ashraf Camp of MKO. The purpose was to locate those who defect the organization at the first instance interviews by the American Forces. As you are aware, in various reports by the Human Rights Watch, the European Union, the British Government, the US State Department, the Canadian Foreign office, and many other sources as well as the worldwide media, the deeds and practices of the MKO and its leader Masud Rajavi have been categorised as terrorist and violating the bases of human rights. Therefore, we urge you to pay attention to our concerns about the situation of around 120 separated people from MKO those do not want to return back to their home Iran , nor they want to rejoin cult of MKO.  These people should be protected by the International Community on the humanitarian gournd and under the World Declaration for Human Rights; and we urge you to help them by any means you can.  It is also worth mentioning that the MKO is considering the fleeing of its members and their departure from Iraq as a grave threat to its existence.  It is essential to point out the fact that some of reports concerning the disaffected people have already appeared in the media.  We are currently considering a proposal to send a delegation under the supervision of International Human Right Organisation based in Norway to Iraq, so that to be able to help the disaffected people of TIPF camp.  We would like to make you further updated in the connection and would be grateful for your cooperation in the context.  Kind Regards  Ghasem Ghezi, Representative of Anjomane Solh, the Peace Association Norway

Mujahedin Khalq Organization as a terrorist group

MKO threatens Iraqi newsmen with death

The MKO terrorist cult threatened Iraqi newsmen who had released documents indicating that the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) had a hand in suppressing Iraqi Shiites’ Intifada [in 1991]. According to Albayyenah newspaper, the MKO terrorist group made death threats to Iraqi newsmen through the internet and their mobile phones as well. These newsmen had published documents on the MKO having a hand in suppressing the Intifada of Iraqi Shiites. Albayyenah also adds: As a result of these open threats, the Iraqi Newsmen’s Union will condemn the MKO’s recent measure through issuing a formal statement. The MKO terrorist cult has also already threatened Ali Dabbagh, an Iraqi government spokesman who is also responsible for Iraq’s Research Center, with death because of opposing the Monafeghin’s remaining in Iraq.

former member of the MKO, appeals to the Iraqi legal authorities

Ms Batul Soltani, former member of the MKO, appeals to the Iraqi legal authorities against the organisation based in Camp Ashraf in Iraq:

Honourable Judicial Authority of the Republic of Iraq,  My name is Batul Soltani daughter of Morteza. I was born in 1965 in Iran and at the moment I live in Baghdad. I married with Mr Hosein Moradi in 1986 in Iran and then we moved to Pakistan together the same year. We were recruited by the MKO in that country and then we were ordered to go to Iraq a year later in 1987. In 1991 we were separated by the order of the organisation and had to give up our children who were sent to Europe later. At first my husband and I resisted against these demands, but being under enormous psychological pressure, we were forces to yield to their orders and eventually we were separated both from each other and then from our children.  My daughter Hajar Moradi was born in 1987 in Pakistan and my son Mi’ad Moradi was born in 1991 in Iraq. In the year 1991 while Hajar was 5 and Mi’ad was only 6 months old they were dispatched from me and sent to Europe. I was not allowed to have any contact with them. I still cannot forget the moment my daughter was badly crying when she was leaving me and I still recall the innocent face of my six months old son.  Later I learned that my daughter resided with a family in south of Sweden with the alias name of Setareh Khabbazan and she is now studying in a university in the north of that country. My son who is now known as Milad was taken from Iraq by an Iranian family to Holland and after a while was taken back by the organisation and given to another family. When this family faced some difficulties he was given to an orphan residential place. He is now living in a centre for keeping the youngsters in Holland. I have no contact with my children at all and I even don’t know if they have any idea about me. The MKO would not give me any trace of them.  While I was in Iraq the organisation did not let me have any contact with my family in Iran and hence my father who was very upset and frustrated as the result of not knowing anything about me died in sorrow. My mother in Iran is now very ill and is deeply suffering as the result of my absence for such a long time.  In 2006 I escaped from Camp Ashraf and sought refuge in the American camp called TIPF. In 14 January 2008 I left the TIPF and moved to Baghdad and I desire to go abroad now, but before doing that I wish to file my complaint against the MKO to the Iraqi legal authorities to be dealt with as soon as possible.  I wish to regain my family and also my lost identity. I want to appeal against the MKO for my father’s death, my mother’s illness, the separation of my husband as well as my two children, and the wasted 20 years of my life. The MKO and its leadership are responsible for all these miseries. I would like that the MKO be forced to yield to my just requests and give my children’s addresses and also let my husband to meet me in Baghdad. I wish to thank you for your sincere cooperation in advance.

Habilian Foundation

Iraqi media visit Secretary General of Habilian Association

In the sideline of their meeting with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, twelve Iraqi media representatives met the Secretary General of Habilian Association and exchanged opinions with him.

Iraqi media visit secretary general of Habilian Association

In this meeting, which was attended by different Iraqi newspapers executive editors and the correspondents of Almotamar, Alittehad, Alzaman, Aldorah, Alsabah as well as the correspondents of Iraqi TV channels Alaraqiah, Baghdad, Alforat and Iraq’s national [news] agency, Muhammad Javad Hasheminejad, along with highlighting the role of the media in the current world, said:”We expect our media friends to unveil the unmanifested facts about MKO terrorists so as to make this terrorist cult more and more scandalized in the eyes of Iraqi people. Here I should say that many different methods of brainwashing are applied by the MKO gang leaders inside the cult through which they could attain their wicked ambitions.

Iraqi media visit secretary general of Habilian Association

My father was martyred by a mere 17-year old teenager who had been under continuous brainwashing for a very long time before he got qualified for committing his crime. This is actually the very same approach they have adopted so skillfully in the case of Somayyeh Muhammadi (member of Rajavi’s cult) in camp Ashraf. At the time that her parents demanded their beloved daughter ‘s exit from the camp, she appeared on Monafeghin TV and begins to curse her parents while calling them bad names. Meanwhile based on the report released by Human Rights Watch, dissident members have encountered very harsh persecution.

Iraqi media visit secretary general of Habilian Association

The representative for the families of 16,000 terror martyrs in Iran added : The majority of Ashraf dwellers are those who have been deceived by Rajavi’s cult and have joined him from the neighboring countries as a result of false promises the organization gave them for residence, education, and good jobs; but are now even deprived of the right to exit this camp. The atmosphere in Ashraf is of suffocation and strict censorship. The members don’t even have permission to read newspapers or to access the internet or to enjoy any open news space. The gang leaders know very well that opening any new window to the outside world for the members would result in their finding the contrast between the world they are told of and the realities existing outside the camp. I should also notify you that relocation of the MKO from Iraq would result in a major drop in the number of their forces and this is why they’re struggling to remain in Iraq. We are all aware of their innumerable crimes in Iran and Iraq and as far as they can’t defend the crimes they have committed and their bloody past, they merely deny them. In this meeting Dr. Loei Majid Hassan Albadavi, correspondent to Almotamar newspaper, said:”the Monafeghin have established a new office for propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran. They send their agents to every Iraqi media trying to bribe them into publishing articles in favor of the organization. Once they came to me and suggested huge sums for publishing their articles, but I didn’t accept. I assure you that more than 90 percent of Iraqi journalists would undoubtedly demand the MKO be deported from Iraq. I can see new horizons before the two nations because Iran and Iraq are the real victims of terrorism. We also hereby express our readiness to hold exhibitions on the issue of terrorism in Iraq. During the ceremony, Odai Hatam Mahdi Jafari, manager of the organization for protecting Iraqi journalists and a correspondent for Alforat TV, also stated :”I am a victim of MKO persecution too. During the Iraqi people’s 1991 intifada against Saddam, the Monafeghin tortured me in Salam hotel on the order of Saddam. They tortured me in such a cruel way that Ms Simona, governor of Italia’s Human Rights wrote a book about torture and gave my name in her book as the example of one who had been tortured by Monafeghin. Aziz Rahim Zobaidi, manager of Alarabiah TV political news, along with indicating the extensive moral corruption inside camp Ashraf, also said :”we have authorized news on immoral relations in the camp which is publicized by the gang leaders intentionally in order to prevent the members from escaping the camp. We as the representatives of Iraqi mass media demand the annihilation of any terrorism bases in the world.

MEK Camp Ashraf

Camp Ashraf- Human Catastrophe

A report on the meeting of Iranian Human Right Association in Europe and North America  On Thursday, March 6th, a number of human right associations and MKO defectors attended a roundtable, investigating the human aid to captured people of Camp Ashraf and TIPF; in the round table which lasted the whole day, Mr. Masud Khodabandeh submitted a report on his activities in Iraq during previous weeks, then they discussed the ways to aid the Iranian captives of Ashraf and also harmonizing the efforts and functional ways in order to accelerate their salvation.  About 3400 members of MKO whose lives are in danger; are in Iraq and if the efforts to help them are not well organized, we might encounter a human catastrophe. Therefore, all the associations in the round table and the other associations (via telephone) decided to dedicate their activities to the extradition of Iranians from Iraqi territory and their survival out of Iraq. During the round table Mrs. Batoul Soltani the former member of MKO’s leadership Council who has recently left Camp Ashraf and also TIPF and is now working as a responsible of Sahar Foundation in Iraq, attended the meeting via telephone and was interviewed by Behzad AliShahi. The attendees were also engaged in cooperation with Sahar Foundation on its human rights activities. At the end a statement consisted of seven articles was issued. The resolution is as follows:  The statement on the support of Captured Iranians in Camp Ashraf

1. Regarding the situation of Iraq today and particularly the recent confirmations made by Iraqi government on the trial of some members and the expulsion of some others, the problem of the future of members of Ashraf and helping them is absolutely a human problem and should be investigated without any political tendency.

2. Regarding that the problem of members captured in Ashraf is absolutely a human one, there is no difference between a defector and a non defector of MKO and their ranks within the MKO. The priority is the support for the principal human rights of the whole 3400 members.

3. Regarding the human emergency which dominates Ashraf and the serious threatens for Ashraf members in Iraq and the documented reports of a majority of International human rights organizations, the transfer of these people to a third secure country (especially European or North American countries) has the priority and we condemn any political abuse of such a situation.

4. As the individuals or organization settles in Europe or North America, we stress the necessity of the information given by mass media in order to reflect the emergency and dangerous situation of Ashraf and we demand for the concentration of all the associations on the problem.

5. We ask the entire Iranian forces, oppositions, groups and individuals in abroad to forget their political opinions and try to do their best to rescue their compatriots who once stepped in the way to achieve democracy and freedom for their nation.  6. We declare our complete support for the families who are asking for their minimum human rights including a private visit with the captives of Ashraf, stating our readiness to assist Sahar Family Foundation in Europe and North America. 7. We ask the leader of Muajhedin Khalq Organization, Mr. Masud Rajavi and his assistant Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and their foreign cooperators in Telaviv, London and Washington especially their supporters’ committee in British parliament to recognize the human rights of captured members in Camp Ashraf after three decades and stop their obstructions and hostility that heightens their pains, setting for a logic and human turn towards cooperation with human right organization such as Sahar Family Foundation.  Iran Peyvand Association

Mujahedin Khalq 's Function

Patrick Pesnot Interviews Mr. X on MKO

Translation: Nejat Society Pesnot: I want to talk about Mujahedin-e-Khalq who are probably better spies for George Bush. MEK are the opponents to the Ayatollahs and PresidentFrance inter Ahmadinejad of Iran. They claim that they have revealed the Iranian military nuclear programs in 2002. After the American security agencies reported that Iran has interrupted its program for bomb fabrication, MEK refused the report and claimed that Tehran is still seeking nuclear weapon secretly. And this is exactly what Bush claimed after the reports issued. There is a question here: how does the MKO know that Tehran is seeking nuclear weapon while MKO’s intelligence network has been destroyed and has no function now? How could the MKO’s intelligence network understand it but American Intelligence Agencies were not able to find out?   united State, contrary to its interests ,use MKO’s misinformation and no one asks if MKO tries to make Americans involved in a battle against Iran, by giving such misinformation.  You can’t help thinking about what happened before American invasion to Iraq. Saddam Hussein’s opponents including Ahmad Chalabi didn’t stop saying that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. But there was nothing of them in Iraq. These intoxication acts doubled by the American neo-conservatives who had no objective except justifying the American invasion to Iraq. Therefore, Mr. X tries to clarify the issue describing Mujahedin of whom a large number reside in France.  The group is still on the FTO list of Department of State that has prevented the American government from helping them or probably contributing them financially. Mr. X: MKO is a cult. In fact they share most of cult-like practices. For example the forced divorce of spouses and their absolute dedication to their favorite leader Maryam Rajavi, the self- assigned president in exile of Iran and also the absolute dependence of fighters on the organization, military cooperation and even members sacrifice so as they self-immolated to protest the arrest of Maryam Rajavi following the French Police raid to MKO’s base in 2003. Of course that was a spectacular, ridiculous and also useless act.  MKO was founded in 1969’s by a small group of young students who opposed the Shah’s tyranny and their ideology was inspired by both Islam and Marxism. Pesnot: it’s not simple to mix these two.  Mr. X: at least both shared anti-imperialism view.  Pesnot: and of course anti-Americanism. Mr. X: Naturally, because the US supported Shah and cooperated to return the Shah to Iran after the coup-d’at against Mosaddeq. The first Mujahedin were the students and intellectuals who entered the armed struggle exploding the electricity lines in the 2500th anniversary of Persian Empire.  Pesnot: Ah, Persepolis. Mr. X: Savak was terrified and executed the key leaders of the organization except one: Masud Rajavi who was offered favor and got amnesty. His brother also protested in an international movement.  Pesnot: why the others weren’t released?  Mr. X: Rajavi accepted to cooperate with the police. After the organization was damaged from head, the activities continued so slowly and the attempts and terrors started in 1972 when the American advisors were assassinated.  Pesnot: then the organization recovered its force again.  Mr. X: yes, it formed its clandestine units and got close to two other movements: the clerics of Qom and the laics, the former supporters of Mosadeq.  Pesnot: and they were mostly left-wing.  Mr. X: most of the organization ‘s members were oppressed and defections appeared in the organization.  Pesnot: thus the cultism you mentioned existed in the group from the beginning.  Mr. X: the defection of Marxists from MKO was a heavy beat for the Mujahedin and Mr. Khomeini did not welcome the case.  Pesnot: didn’t he appreciate Rajavi so well?  Mr. X: this is the least thing you can say. Rajavi obeyed and accepted the superiority Of Khomeini and called him the leader of the revolution in the early days after the revolution, MEK supported the revolution and pretended that they were not strangers to the hostage taking of American Embassy. But they soon set off for protests.  Pesnot: why?  Mr. X: because of Khomeini’s absolute power.  Pesnot: Rajavi wanted to have a share of the power? Mr. X: well, naturally .Khomeini didn’t like and Rajavi wanted to reach an agreement with Khomeini but following the deposal of Banisadr, they became more isolated until they got refugee in France and MKO’s armed struggle against the ayatollahs started. They burned up the office of Islamic Republic Party and assassinated 74 of high ranking officials of regime.  was a real massacre.  revolutionary Guard began to fight against MKO and Rajavi’s wife was killed. In 1981,Rajavi fled his country and inhabited in Auversur-O’ise and formed National Council of Resistance but after a time his allies left the council. Pesnot: and soon the MKO was listed as terrorist. Mr. X: yes, by the Americans and the Europeans. Most of MKO supporters remained in Iran gathering intelligence for French intelligence agencies and received French favor until the Iran-Iraq war began.  Pesnot: and France was on Iraqi side.  Mr. X: France supported Saddam Hussien and Mujahedin fed French Intelligence Service with precious information.  Pesnot: Mr. X is talking about a cult-like organization that seems to use bizarre practices. Firstly we’ll discuss the third marriage of Masud Rajavi. I’ve extracted a few lines of the French journalist. Patric Lestruan’s writings:”in 1984, Rajavi who previously had married twice, fell in love with Maryam who was the wife of the man No.4 of the organization. Rajavi could make his dream true due to his power of retorique and following his wedding, his political office published a text.  In fact the text talked of a new epical victory and was considered as a qualified mutation in MKO’s history and the husband whose wife was taken to marry Rajavi, even sent public congratulations to Maryam and Masud Rajavi. Under the cover of women’s promotion Mujahedin forbid sexual relations and forced all married members to divorce. And also their daily reports that everybody was supposed to produce on his activities Mujahedin had to write their sexual fantasies and submit to their authorities’’  Mr. X: Jacqe Shirac wanted to normalize the diplomatic relations between Iran and France and to show his good will expelled Rajavi and his supporters out of French territory. Then the French government threw the Mujahedin in hands of Saddam Hussein. It had nothing for the Iranians except treason during Iran-Iraq war. Rajavi went to Iraq and Saddam Hussein was so pleasant because the enemy of my enemy can’t be anything but friend and Rajavi paid a heavy cost for this treason. Saddam used chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers and provided Rajavi with everything to establish his army.   In July 1988,Rajavi used the opportunity provided by the ceasefire between Iran and Iraq and sent his army to fight Iranians but after it advanced for only 50 km, the National Liberation Army was demolished by the Iranian Forces and lost too many of its members.  Pesnot: It was a terrible failure and an actual humiliation for Rajavi and I guess that Saddam’s delusions were also broken.  Mr. X: definitely, he hoped that with the MKO’s operation he could continue the war while respecting the cease-fire.  Pesnot: a replacing war. Saddam Hussein’s generosity was without any expectation from the counterpart?  Mr. X: Of course not. He asked MKO to oppress Iraqi Kurds what is still causing bad reputation for Rajavi and his group. In any case, France conciliate with MKO in condition that they respect a really neutral policy and let them return to France.  Pesnot: and they did so.  Mr.X: obviously. Despite all Saddam Hussein’s considerations, the fighters are more comfortable in a Western democratic country. We forget them when it is needed. The French government closes his eyes.  Pesnot: did the military confrontation between Iran and MKO finish?  Mr. X: no, but after the failed invasion of 1988, they could never find the tranquility yes, Mujahedin went on heir attempts. Despite the first allies’ invasion against Hussein in 1991, MEK maintained their bases in Iraq that allowed them to launch operations against Iranian interests once in a while.  Pesnot: around the borders.  Mr. X: sometimes the operation led to reactions. For example, in 1992 the Iranian aircrafts bombed MKO’s camps in Iraq and immediately MKO operated a series of attempts against Iranian Embassies in Europe and military industries while some changes were placing in the head of the organization.  Pesnot: what changes?  Mr. X: Maryam Rajavi became No.1. Pesnot: she took her husband’s position?  Mr. X: yes.  Pesnot: what happened?  Mr. X: no one knows exactly. Some imagine that the couple had no more mutual understanding. Even some say that there were some links between Maryam and Saddam Hussein. But I don’t believe in such things so much. The promotion of Maryam Rajavi to the first position like what Masud was previously is the main objective of a cult of personality! Pesnot: what happened to Masud?  Mr. X: this is one of the mysteries of the affairs. No one really knows what happened.  Pesnot: from the American view, MEK who were once Saddam’s allies were on the bad side of battle.  Mr. X: it really started badly for them but I have to notice that MEK took the wind out of their sail.  Pesnot: because they knew that sooner or later the Americans would take over in Iraq.  Mr. X: yes. They knew well. they have created secret links with the officials since long ago, so they can keep four of their camps in the South of Iraq and concentrate their forces in the Camp Ashraf, in 90 km. North of Bagdad near Iranian border. A territory with 36 km square that was granted to them by Iraqi surrounded with barbed wire. . Pesnot: an Iranian property in Iraq.  Mr. X: Since the beginning of 2003 MEK or in better words their legal front organization NCRI gather together in Camp Ashraf. Pesnot: two weeks after American invasion to Iraq.  Mr. X: this is not accidental. They enter a crucial relation with the US. Pesnot: what are they seeking?  Mr. X: first of all, they are trying to draw American’s attention to themselves to prove that they are not terrorists but democrat fighters who oppose Mullah’s absolutism, thus they shouldn’t be on the terror list any more. They find 150 of American congressmen to sign an appeal for their cause. From the other side, they also try to demark themselves from Saddam Hussein. Finally there is an MKO’s member who is installed in US and reveals research site of Iranians on nuclear weapons.  Pesnot: a kind of gift which is handed to Americans.  Mr. X: something like this.  Pesnot: therefore the will of Mujahedin requires approaching Americans . Despite all you said, at the beginning, the war stared badly for MEK. Mr. X: yes, because Al Badre Bridges that are formed of devotee Shiites in Iran, attack them at the time the Americans aircrafts bombs the MEK Camps. But nothing more happens. However there are whispers in Bagdad that MEK has WMD in their camps.   Pesnot: American forces do not try to get ride of Saddam Hussein’s former allies. Besides, the disarming agreement was signed between Iranian fighters and American officials. Mujahedin deliver their tanks and canons, but they are allowed to keep their light arms. Finally all of them are invited to join Camp Ashraf. They are not considered as war prisoners but as fighters detained in their camp.  Pesnot: a normal detain but they are still considered as terrorist by the Americans.  Mr. X: yes and they can be imprisoned in Guantanamo.  Pesnot: surely, there are some neo-conservatives around George Bush who have already compelled the idea that MKO could be a precious ally for America. Therefore I read a part of Eric Laurent’s writings titles “Bush, Iran, Bomb”:”Maryam Rajavi and her movement that has assassinated several Americans in the past and served Saddam Hussein as his oppressors, has become an arm in the hands of Mr. President’s surroundings the only obstacle against the free cooperation between MEK and US is the existence of their name on terrorists list since 1997. The designation that curiously didn’t prohibit the MEK from possessing an office and activities in American capital. John Ashcroft Justice Minister and an extremist neo-conservative supports the group actively.  The mere designation of a group as a foreign terrorist organization doesn’t illegalize it and also this organization has been recorded as a lobbyist, the activity in which they are skilled” said a co-worker of Ashcroft to explain the juridical ambiguity . Laurant’s book was published by PLON.  Mr. X: I have to say why the Department of State where Powell is ruling, acts so conservatively in confronting MKO. Firstly because it is listed as terrorist and also he doesn’t want to dissatisfy Tehran. Either of these reasons might be true but the contradiction has an important echo for us.  In June 2003, under the order of anti-terrorist Judge Brugiere, 1200 policemen and officers of DST raided MKO’s base in Ouver -Sur d’Oise.  Pesnot: I remember that usually when such forces mobilize the case is serious.  Mr. X: yes. Well, meanwhile this operation with the code name”Teo”, the interrogations were done and a large amount of money was found but that’s all; no arms and no explosives. But it didn’t prevent judge Brugiere from arresting 160 of Mujahedin including Maryam Rajavi, MEK’s Saint Mary. The protestations of Iranian opponents are harsh and some are dramatic. Pesnot: yes, the self-immolations of which we have talked. But what was MKO accused of?  Mr. X: because of their clandestine activities and money-laundering in our territory. Pesnot: is it true?  Mr. X: well, clandestine activities! But which activities?  DST is completely incapable to prove it and couldn’t present any document. About money“laundering yes, it is probable. The organization has a complex network of foreign associations which are so complicated that the experts are not able to distinguish this financial network. In the network the associations are allowed to access each others accounts and pay the members’ salaries from them. The result: Mujahedin are released one after the other. This happened after the visit made by our foreign affair minister in Tehran, two months earlier. Mr. Villepin had been hosted so warmly. The other congratulations were sent by Washington.”Teo” operation was considered as a right line in the war on terror. But in reality, it was only in official speech. In fact the White House showed hypocrisy. Pesnot: but why?because it contradicts the neoconservatives’ plan to use MEK against Tehran?    Mr.X: definitely. They turned against France and implicitly suspect France to having the intention to give the green light to Iranian regime in order to sign oil and industrial contracts with Tehran. This is what some American parliamentarians think accusing French authorities appeasing Iran, a terrorist state.  Pesnot: therefore Teo operation . Mr.X: and maybe DST tried to fire a counter attack. Pesnot: what do you mean?  Mr.X: the publication of a book with the author’s name: Victor Charbinnier. Pesnot: a pseudonym.  Mr.X: which includes the names of two authors of whom one is a high ranking international activist.  Pesnot: why did they use the pseudonym? Due to cautiousness?  Mr.X: Officially, they wanted to protect the two authors.  Pesnot: because the book is as explosive as that?  Mr.X: it’s not so kind to Mujahedin-e-Khalq.  Pesnot: ok, what’s it about?  Mr. X : the book is inspired by a group of dissidents and the official version denounces the practices used by MKO seriously physical violence, brainwashing, extra chantage against their own members. Briefly the organization has become a neo-stalinian nest.  Pesnot: but you also spoke of sectarist practices of MKO at the beginning and your words were not far from what these dissidents say.  Mr. X: yes, I know the group well. That’s right. But I didn’t go further. Well, listen to the conclusion of the two authors:”this Islamist-communist organization is one of the most dangerous terror organizations of the world:” I think that today “Pesnot: and you think that our counter Intelligence Service could intervene in composing the book?  Mr. X: DST that didn’t have the power to bring MKO to justice could well give some information to the two authors.    Pesnot: the information that came from good sources, therefore it was a sort of revenge?    Mr. X: this is what I think of but I’m not sure at all. The Simple coincidence of the book and the operation Teo intrigues me. I have to confess that these terrible Mujahedin live in a perfect harmony with the population of Ouver Sur d’Oise, who were glad to see them again after their short detention.  Pesnot: Let’s get back to the case of US-MKO relations. Mr. X: you are right because at the present time this is essential. Although they are still on the famous terror list, MEK are going to make their relations with the US more and more.  Pesnot: Explain.  Mr. X: following the big mistake made by American security agencies three weeks ago, CIA found out that its intelligence network are completely ruined. Consequently, American services are certain to make themselves closer to MKO, since it seems that MKO is well informed of Iran’s advancements in its nuclear researches on the bomb. Pesnot: yes, but it is a risk to rely on only one source. Mr. X: I completely agree with you. In the world of intelligence as well as the world of press. These opponents to ayatollahs perhaps will launch a large campaign, exaggerating about the threat of the ayatollahs, to intoxicate the atmosphere of Washington what the American neo-conservatives are really desirous to hear.  Pesnot: it exactly recalls us what the Iraqi opponents including Ahmad Chalabi did a few years ago. He pretended that saddam Hussein owned WMDs. Mr. X: of course the dictator had already got rid of them under the pressure of UN inspectors. Thus we are seeing a kind of repetition. And we never should forget that they might make the same manipulations and exaggeration when they speak about Iranian bomb. Bush incontestably gave them the green light. For example, in August 2004, the White House leader declared that he will pardon some of Saddam Hussein allies.  Pesnot: and one of them is MKO.  Mr. X: yes, they are a part of that. He even went further stressing that Mujahidin are under the protection of American forces.  Pesnot: you mean those who gathered in Camp Ashraf.  Mr. X: about 3800.  Pesnot: there is a question here: doesn’t it make the Iraqi government, which is mainly composed of Iranian Shiites, unsatisfied?  Mr. X: consequently, the important thing to Washington is the exceptional source of information that MKO represents. And you can even see the role of MKO among the strategists who surround American President, the role that once was played by the alliance of the North in Afqanistan when Taliban took over Kabul.  Pesnot: the North Alliance was the movement formed by commandant Masud.  Mr. X: and it is in the hypotheses of an American war against the ayatollahs.  Pesnot: but what do they do with unpopularity of MKO because of its alliance with Saddam Hussein.  Mr. X: I agree totally. But this idea really looks nice in the minds of White house authorities. The last word if I’m allowed. American Intelligence Services should be very suspicious to the information provided by Mujahidin since they sometimes get their information from another source.  Pesnot: which source?  Mr. X: the Israeli Mossad which has still a severe intelligence network in Iran. And therefore who is more interested than Israel in the intervention of the United States in Iran?

Former members of the MEK

Stop taking our beloveds as hostages!

On Sunday March 2nd, a meeting was held by Nejat Society Gilan Branch, in Rasht, where a lot of families of Nejat Society attended to represent their determination to save their beloved ones from camp Ashraf and stop taking them as hostages by MKO Cult.  The meeting began with the speeches of Mr. Ebrahim Khodabande, a former political activist of MKO in England. He described the studies made on cults during years, stressing that all the cults have the same nature in brainwashing and psychologically manipulating of the members, forcing them to divorce, separating the children from their parents.

Mr. Arash Sametipour, the former member of MKO’s operational teams mentioned the presence of families in Iraq to visit their children citing the story of a mother who was desirous to visit her son in Camp Ashraf but found him as a robot without any feeling. She became assured that the manipulation system in the organization is very somplicated. She decided to rescue her son by the help of international human right organizations.

Sametipour also introduced Sahar Family Foundation which was recently founded by former MKO members from Canada, England and US, in Baqdad, in order to aid all families whose loved ones are captured in Camp Ashraf.

At the end, Marjan Malek, a former member of MKO military teams addressed the meeting, describing how she could save her two daughters pursuing the case with the help of Holland authorities.

Mr. Fadaiee Kowsari also talked of his trip to Bagdad a few years ago and his determination to link families with their children.

The meeting ended with the appreciations made by families.
