The propaganda for democracy made by the organization toward the outside world is not used inside the organization. A type of leadership system, cult like, around the personality of Maryam and Masud with group obligation and Stalinist Cult leadership and psychological suppression have caused the members to suppress their own individuality in order to achieve their duties.
On Tuesday, October 9th, the representatives of Habilian Association in a meeting with Ms. Rachel Litman a high ranking member of DOS’s delegation, describing the terror issues in Iran, explained the objectives of the association and the activities done by that. During the meeting, Mr. Hashemi Nejad and Ms. Litman talked together.
The statement also says that”the two sides say that the formation of joint task force helps security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries and strengthens the ties”.Iraqi government announced last month that al-Rubaii met the Iranian intelligence minister and discussed issues such as intelligence cooperation, fighting terrorism and illegal border crossing.
In your articles, you have dealt in detail with the internal deterrents that hinder normalization of relations but you avoid discussing the disruptive role of the opposition and Mojahedin-e Khalq in particular….I say that if these deterrents are to be analyzed in general and their supposed interests out of these challenges are delineated, MKO’s role in escalation of the tension should never be overlooked. Are you in doubt that MKO consent to any political bargain on the expense of the country’s national interests?..
Immediately after the Islamic revolution (in 1979), MKO leaders pretended to be boycotting governmental press in order to block their members’ and supporters’ access to free media. This kind of censorship was expanded in the following years and took a different shape when the MKO members were restricted to Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

Margaret Beckett, in her first exclusive meeting with the foreign press in the UK, responded to a question on the MKO and, about why the group was still active in Iraq said:”Britain considers MKO a terrorist organization and opposes this group. However, banning the activities of this group in Iraq is up to the Iraqi government and the US as the commander of coalition forces in Iraq.”
An eminent Iraqi lawyer said that existence of Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) in Iraq is unlawful, said IRNA. Tariq Harb, head of the ‘Population of Disseminating Law Culture in Iraq’, told the Baghdad-based weekly of Al-Shahed that according to the domestic, international and foreign non-governmental laws, existence of MKO in Iraq is illegal.

Any statements or declarations made by Iraqi nationals in Iraq about the legal and political status of the”People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran”, also known as the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) inside Iraq, are a matter for the Government of Iraq. The MEK is proscribed in the United Kingdom under the Terrorism Act 2000.
