Israel is financing the terrorist Mujaheedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), sources in Iraq disclosed.

“Israel is providing financial support for MKO at a time when the grouplet is short of cash and financial resources …,” an Iraqi source told Fars News Agency on condition of anonymity.Israel Bankrolling MKO

“Israel, unlike the Ba’ath Party, believes that MKO is regarded as one of the main levers of pressure against Iran no matter where it is (inside or outside Iraq), while Ba’ath Party believes that if the MKO is expelled from the Muslim country it cannot serve the interests of the party as it did during Saddam’s rule,” the source added.

He noted that the groups which previously supported MKO have cut their support for the terrorist group.

The source said that head of the now outlawed Ba’ath party Izzat Ibrahim Al-Douri is still supporting the MKO.

“This relationship (between the MKO and the Ba’ath party) has continued after Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was toppled and executed because Al-Douri did not want to lose an important trump card like the MKO … ,” he added.

The MKO is behind a slew of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, a number of EU parliamentarians said in a recent letter in which they slammed a British court decision to remove the MKO from the British terror list.

The EU officials also added that the group has no public support within Iran because of their role in helping Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).

A May 2005 Human Rights Watch report accused the MKO of running prison camps in Iraq and committing human rights violations.

According to the Human Rights Watch report, the outlawed group tortures and imprisons defectors.

The group was founded in the 1960s. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and western targets.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it came under the protection of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and helped him suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country. The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

“The MKO committed numerous crimes against the Iraqi people during Saddam’s era and after the US invasion of the country and the government has many documents showing links between the MKO and several leaders of al-Qaeda terrorist network,” former Iraqi National Security Minister Sherwan Waeli told Habilian Association.

He called on the UN to expedite expulsion of MKO members from Iraq, reiterating that the international body is acting slowly in this regard.

Earlier in 2012, governor of Iraqi district Khalis announced the discovery of a memorial stone in Camp Ashraf inscribed with the names of some high ranking Ba’ath party officials and Al-Qaeda terrorists.

The MKO group, founded in the 1960s, blended elements of Islamism and Stalinism and participated in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran in 1979. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and Western targets.

The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the revolution in a bid to take control of the newly-established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar and Judiciary Chief Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.

The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

Since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, the group, which now adheres to a pro-free-market philosophy, has been strongly backed by neo-conservatives in the United States, who eventually took the MKO off the US terror list.

The US formally removed the MKO from its list of terror organizations in early September 2012, one week after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent the US Congress a classified communication about the move. The decision made by Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement at the time.

In September 2012, the last groups of the MKO terrorists left Camp Ashraf, their main training center in Iraq’s Diyala province. They have been transferred to Camp Liberty which lies Northeast of the Baghdad International Airport.

I’m ashamed that our tax dollars support US “horrible acts”

A Ph.D. Arabist-Islamologist and former lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison said, “I am ashamed that my tax dollars and my neighbors’ and family’s tax dollars are supporting these horrible acts,” referring to the US and Israeli backing and funding violent groups in Iran during the past 30 years which cost the lives of over 17000 Iranians.

“Much of the world does not know that Iran has been targeted by terrorists far more than most other countries,” Dr. Kevin Barrett said during an interview with Habilian Association.

He noted that the National Congress of 17000 Iranian Terror Victims which is going to be held on August 31st, 2013, in the capital Tehran “will contribute to educational efforts to help demythologize the problem of terrorism.”

Asked about the bombing of the Prime Minister’s Office in August 30, 1981, he said, “This event is virtually unknown in the West, and has been completely ignored in the Western media’s discussion of terrorism.”

“One of the reasons is the West’s hostility toward Iran,” added Barrett. “Another is that this bombing does not fit the false Zionist narrative of ‘Islamic terrorism’ and ‘non-Muslim victims’, since the perpetrators were fanatical Marxist secularists, while the victims are associated with the Islamic Revolution.”

The American political analyst added that, even in the West, the MEK is known as one of the world’s most vicious and extremist terrorist groups. “The 2012 US de-listing and subsequent support of the MEK is an extreme example of the characteristic hypocrisy that guides US policy on terrorism.”

“There is an odd disconnect between the European people, who (according to polls) view Israel and the US as the two biggest threats to world peace, and the anti-Iranian policies of European governments,” he added, concerning the European countries’ support for MEK.

“This disjunction between public opinion and official policy calls into question European countries’ claims to being democracies. Another sign that Europe is not democratic: The European parliament has verified that the US and NATO directed the wave of Operation Gladio terrorism that killed hundreds or thousands of Europeans in the 1970s and early 1980s, yet Europeans have never been able to prosecute the terrorists – who still rule them.”

Iraqi official: Iran and Iraq both victims of MKO

Holding conferences like the National Congress of 17000 Iranian Terror Victims is of high importance per se, since they demonstrate the depth of the crimes of the terrorist groups against innocent civilians, said head of the Diyala Province’s Foundation of Martyrs.

The terrorist groups commit human rights violations under various titles, and organizing Congresses on martyrs plays an important role in informing the public opinion regarding this issue, Mohammed Saleh al-Shammari told Habilian Association.

He also made a reference to the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist group, saying the terrorist MKO group backed the former regime’s killing of Iraqi people.

Referring to the discovery of memorial stones engraved with the names of high ranking Baath party officials and Al-Qaeda terrorists, al-Shammari said, “After the fall of (Saddam’s) regime, the group seconded al-Qaeda terrorists.”

Al-Shammari went on to mention that 13000 Iraqi civilians fell victim to the terrorist operations since past decade, concluding that the common ground between Iran and Iraq is that they are both victims of the MKO group.

Terrorists flock to Jordan

Syrian crisis is spilling over onto the region warn security

Islam Times – Sources close to Jordan intelligence services revealed that a meeting regrouping several leading Syrian crisis is spilling over onto the region warn securitymembers of terror organizations have met in Jordan to discuss their operation in Syria.

The defected members of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as MEK, NCRI and Defected Members Urge EU to Prevent Free Traveling of MKO RingleadersPMOI) in different statements called on the European countries to prevent the free traveling of the MKO ringleaders and members in their cities.

The statements which were sent to the European countries’ presidents and parliament speakers underlined the MKO’s record of terrorist acts against the Iranian and Iraqi nations as well as the secret killing of its own members.

The defected members further reminded the MKO’s financial offenses and crimes in Europe during the years a number of members and ringleaders of the group resided in the European countries, and cautioned that MKO’s presence in these countries would pose a fatal danger to European citizens.

The statements described the MKO members’ money laundering, fraud, adult and children trafficking, forced self-immolation, torturing the dissident members and even physical assaults and threatening of the defected members as among the other crimes committed by the terrorist group.

Many of the MKO members have abandoned the terrorist organization while most of those still remaining in the group are said to be willing to quit but are under pressure and torture not to do so.

Open letter to the President of French National Assembly

In the name of Human Rights, Democracy and Freedom

Mr Claude Bartolone, President of the French National Assembly

As you know, Mojahedin Khalq Organisation (aka; MKO, MEK, NCRI,…) have booked a salon in Parc des Exposition de Villeprinte to celebrate the start of their terror activities in June 1981 killing many civilian people.

17 June is also the anniversary of the arrest of Mrs. Rajavi alongside 164 other Mojahedin Commander in 2003 by the order of the government of Mr. Chirac. They were arrested in Val d’Oise charged with plotting terrorism from their HQ. The Mojahedin now celebrate this occasion every year alongside the anniversary of the start of “armed struggle”.

They contact members of the French Senate and try to gather their support. They rely on and hope that the targeted politicians would not know about their past, present and future intentions.

I am writing to ask for a meeting in the Parliament to come with a delegation comprising some of the senior ex members of this organisation to present to you and explain some of the documents available to us.

Mr President

When Mrs Maryam Rajavi speaks about human rights, you should know that there are 3200 MEK members who have been held captive in Iraq in Camp Liberty on her direct order. Of this total more than half are willing to return to their normal life, if allowed their freedom. Currently, members who show any hint of dissent and those who want to separate from the MEK will be severely and brutally beaten on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. Since these people have been relocated to Camp Liberty, more than 50 of them have succeeded in escaping and have rescued themselves from that camp. The obstacles and obstructions which the MEK has created, has resulted in failure of their refugee process in Iraq. The representative of your honorable country in the United Nations and the Security Council’s sessions have witnessed that Mr Martin Kobler, the UN’s special envoy, has complained many times at the lack of MEK cooperation in solving this humanitarian matter. On the other hand, for more than two years the families of MEK members have been asking for a one or two hour meeting with their loved ones. They have established a sit-in in front of the camp, but unfortunately they have been denied meeting with their loved ones on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi.

Mr President,

In the French National Assembly, which is the symbol of French democracy and human rights, Mrs Maryam Rajavi speaks about human rights while dissidents inside the MEK are being killed on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. In this regard, I can mention the names of women such as Mehry Moussavi, Minoo Fathali, Marjan Akbarian, Zahra Faizbakhsh, Homa Bashardoost, Allan Mohammadi, and others and men such as Saeed Kiani, Kiomarz Barforosh, Alinaghi Hadad, and others. In this regard my friends and I who have witnessed these crimes, are ready to testify in any court of law. The MEK, which has not gained power in Iran, massacres its own members. Any Iranian opposition group or organization which wants to criticize the MEK will be faced with bullying aggression and intimidation tactics by the MEK and suffer character assassination; and they will receive death threats from the MEK. None of the Iranian opposition groups which reside in Europe and the USA cooperate with them because of their cultic and violent behavior. The National Council of Resistance, the MEK’s public political face, which comprises MEK commanders and operatives, does not have any popularity among Iranian people. Now, Mrs Maryam Rajavi with this kind of background and record, requests the same kind of recognition and accreditation as the Syrian opposition from the French government!

We former MEK members, with 20-30 years of living in the MEK, who were able to rescue ourselves from the MEK after the downfall of Saddam Hussein and who are currently living in France, would like to alert you to the facts of this situation.

Ex-CIA officer: US Completely Hypocritical Regarding Terrorism

A former CIA officer said the US is "completely hypocritical" in its view of what constitutes terrorism and what does not.

"Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, NCR and PMOI) has many friends in Washington, most of whom have been bought and paid for, and it also enjoys broad political support because it has been portrayed as a group that is actively fighting against the Iranian regime," said Philip Giraldi during an interview with Habilian Association.

The contributing editor at The American Conservative magazine touched upon the Israeli supports for the MKO, and said, "Israel has been supporting terrorism carried out by MKO inside Iran.

He went on to denounce US threats to use force against Iran as "violations of the widely accepted just war doctrine," saying they "might even be considered war crimes as Iran has not threatened the United States and has no nuclear weapons program."

"The UN has not taken any action against the US for a number of reasons, but most prominent would be the facts that the UN is located in New York and that most of its funding comes from Washington," Giraldi added.

When asked about the United States drone attacks on Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia, and also its violation of Iran’s airspace, he said, "The use of drones in all those circumstances is illegal under international law because it is a deliberate violation of a country’s airspace using military aircraft launched by the US."

"When they kill someone using an armed drone, I believe it amounts to a war crime and the senior US government officials who approve the activity should be held accountable," he added.

Support for the MEK Hurts US credibility

Iran poses no threat to the United States: Ex-US Air Force Lt. Col.
Karen Kwiatkowski is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel who spent some 4 years working at the Pentagon. Since her retirement, she has become an outspoken critic on the U.S. foreign policy. Holding a PhD degree in World Politics from the Catholic University of America, Kwiatkowski is a prolific writer at the LewRockWell.com and the American Conservative.
Colonel Kwiatkowski is primarily noted for openly and publicly denouncing what she sees as a corrupting political influence on the course of military intelligence leading up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Her most comprehensive writings on this subject appeared in a series of articles in The American Conservative magazine in December 2003 and in a March 2004 article on Salon.com.
Dr. Kwiatkowski joined Habilian Association in an exclusive interview, and shared her ideas on a number of issues. What follows is excerpt of the interview selected by Nejat Society:

Habilian: The US considers itself to be at the forefront of the war on terrorism and censures other countries for their alleged sponsorship of terrorist groups. But, it took Mujahedin-e Khalq off its list of terrorist organizations, and there are credible evidence showing that Washington has been supporting MEK in its terror ops, both militarily and financially. Isn’t it a hypocritical approach in dealing with the issue of terrorism?
Kwiatkowski: I am personally disgusted by the many years of political support for the MEK by neoconservative elements among the US political class. It is beyond hypocritical, and the history and shifts regarding the MEK– in many ways a western proxy organization from the beginning — is simply one more means of war and provocation against another country, that like drone warfare, is a mechanism that provides the United State government with deniability, ambiguity, a lack of accountability, and ultimately hurts US credibility and interests.
Habilian: Would you please touch on Canada’s dropping MEK from its official list of terrorists?
Kwiatkowski: I don’t follow Canadian politics, but I’m sure Canadian politicians are as venal as the ones we have in the United States. There is a strong and growing tendency for both Canada and Mexican government to fall in line with Washington — I do celebrate when I see Mexican and Canadian leaders expressing their national sovereignty by distancing themselves from US decisions and actions. I don’t see this often, though.
Habilian: And finally, speaking at the French National Assembly on December 5, 2012, MEK leader Maryam Rajavi asked France and the western countries to recognize them as an opposition group as they recognized the Syrian coalition against Assad. What’s your take on this issue? Do you think this group can bring democracy?
Kwiatkowski: I’m not overly familiar with Maryam Rajavi — however, I remember reading about her and the MEK in my days at the Pentagon. My sense was, and remains, that this group is dependent on outside money, serves interests that may have nothing to do with their published propaganda. I left the Pentagon in 2003, nearly a decade ago. Maryam has led the MEK since 1993, and it appears she inherited the position from her husband. That doesn’t sound very democratic, and I suspect that Rajavi knows little about, and cares little about, democracy. The very fact that her organization is favored by a powerful sector in Washington should undermine it as some sort of people’s movement for Iranians dissatisfied with the mullahs and/or Ahmedinejad. Beyond that, Iran already has democracy. Ahmedinejad is an elected leader, much as Obama is. I frankly don’t see democracy as a solution to much of anything. Small, limited and lawful governments — whether they be led by kings or parliaments — deliver far more peace and prosperity than do large, unlimited and unlawful governments, even if those large, unlimited and unlawful governments were “democratically” elected.
With regard to Syria — the war supporters in Washington DC and allies in Europe who are involved in Syrian national politics have been working overtime, without the benefit of public scrutiny, comment or awareness. To wish to be "recognized" by such corrupt governments is revealing, and little good for the people of Syria or the people of Iran respectively, will come of it.

US axis of evil, supporter of terrorism

An Iranian lawmaker has criticized the US policy of using terrorism as a tool, labeling Washington as the axis of evil and a supporter of terrorism across the globe.

In its annual "Country Reports on Terrorism” released on Thursday, the US State Department accused Iran of supporting terrorism.

“The US is the axis of evil and the supporter of terrorism in the world. He added that the US’ violation of human rights indicates Washington’s disregard for the principle, emphasizing that such claims are only used as a tool to put pressure on the world countries as the issue of human rights is not consistent with the performance of Western countries.

The West’s open support for terrorists is known to everyone; therefore the US cannot alter the situation in the region by publishing “false reports”, he stressed, adding that any country that stands up to the US is labeled as terrorist.

In early April, the MKO opened an office near the White House in Washington for the first time in 11 years. The MKO’s office, located a block from the White House, officially opened on April 11 only months after the United States formally removed the anti-Iranian group from the US list of terrorist organizations in September 2012.

The MKO is listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community and has committed numerous terrorist acts against Iranians and Iraqis.

Out of the nearly 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist attacks since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, some 12,000 have fallen victim to the acts of terror carried out by the MKO.
