Mujahedin Khalq Organization's Propaganda System

The Irony of a Safe World

Using its large propaganda and lobby campaign in Europe and America, MKO has always wanted to convince the West to remove the group’s name from the list of terrorist entities, The NCRI website states that

“to remove the PMOI from the terrorism list would make the world a safer place.”

The question is: How could the world become a safer place with a de-listed terrorist Marxist cult?

The irony is also here:”A safer Place”. To clarify the item you should answer the preceding question. You might be willing to analyze the consequences of being a terrorist, Marxist and cult-like group, at the same time.

Since its foundation as an opposition to the regime of Shah of Iran, MKO has always been engaged in the armed struggle and has never denounced violence officially. What can MEK do with that long (more than 4 decades) history of bombings, assassinations and military operations mostly against innocent people? The background has been reported several times by various international bodies including the annual report of the State Department in 2007– according to the same organizations the victims of MKO’s terror activities has been mounted as to be countless. They were killed in the numerous bombings, mortar attacks, military operations of the group in Iran and also Iraq. Besides, the group assassinated 7 American military personnel and civilians in 1970s. During the post revolutionary terrorist acts of MKO in 1980s, they bombed various places including streets and even public transportation buses. In one case a 2-year old baby named Leila Nourbakhah burned completely. To check MKO’s chronology of terrorist activities would take plenty of time. Only to name a few of a large number will illuminate the broad-minded brains. Thus how can the world be a safer place with de-listed MKO terrorists who celebrated the tragic catastrophe of September 11th in 2001?

The Marxist aspect of MKO should also be considered carefully. When the primary founders of Mujahedin-e-Khalq founded the organization in the 1960s, the Iranian political activists were seriously influenced by leftist communist opinions. Therefore the basis of the group was based on a mixture of Marxism and Islamism ideology (the two very controversial ideologies). The flag of the organization represented the both tendency. In all the group’s manifests in Mojahed Journal you could find the traces of Marxism of which all the world has tired the disasters as the equivalent of dictatorship in the Animal Farm.

Professor Paul Sheldon Foote gives an appropriate nickname to Rajavi; Pol Pot of Iran and his neo-conservative supporters are called neo-Trotskyites.

So can the removal of Mujahedin from the list make the world a safer place?

According to Human Rights Watch  MKO is a destructive cult due to many reasons that are stated by all former members. All the characteristics of a cult are seen in MEK: the isolated atmosphere, the absolute leadership, and the indoctrination system as well as manipulation techniques ruling the group.

The cult trains the members up to the absolute devotion level where they are at any time ready to die for the leaders as what the members did in June 2003 when Maryam Rajavi was arrested by French Police. They launched a wave of self-immolation throughout Europe creating tragic scenes before the citizens’ eyes to protest the arrest of the leader!

The threat of the cult is not limited to the short-term disasters but it has long-term consequences too, such as the Ideological Revolution that forces the couples to divorce and give their children to the organization.

These children will grow up as they are trained by the cult practices. They won’t have any feeling or emotion except the hatred towards Islamic Republic.

The manipulation techniques are functioned so exactly that the actual members and future militia cannot make the least basic decision of their lives. They only obey the orders of their authorities.

Therefore, by de-listing the PMOI if the world doesn’t become a more dangerous place, it surely won’t be a safer place.

Former members of the MEK

To be a Mujahed

Memoirs of Ms. Batoul Soltani – Part One

The following is an interview with “ Former member of the leadership Council of MKO; a woman who was released after two decades of being captive of the cult of Rajavi …during those years she lost her kids and her warm family center. The life of Mrs. Batoul Soltani is mostly like a tragic drama that seems like an incredible fate. She is now stepping in a way to rejoin her missing husband and kids.

SFF: Mrs.Soltani, Thank you for your time. We would like to offer you our sympathy due to the entire grieves you suffered for more than two decades. As we’d like to learn about your tragedy-like life, please explain how you were recruited by the organization?

Mrs.Batoul Soltani: Thank you. I am Batoul Soltani. I was born in 1965 in Isfahan where I graduated from high school. I was accepted for the university but I didn’t go there and instead I married a man who had just been released from the prison.

In 1986 we got married and then one of my husband’s friends, who had joined the organization, introduced him to MKO. He had told them that we are opposed to the Islamic Republic. So the MKO’s men came to Isfahan to look for us.

My husband told me about leaving Iran. I had some social problems so I was ready to leave Iran. I said:

”It is so good. We will leave Iran to look for our happiness and life.”

The same year when I was pregnant (about eight months after our marriage)After a period of residence in the hotel they told me that I can leave my kid to the nursery and work in their school we left Iran through  Iran-Pakistan border by the help of a smuggler who worked for MKO.

We were on the way for a few days. I remember the difficulties I had on the way. When we arrived in Pakistan, I told my husband that I wanted to continue my studies and have a free life. We asked the UNHCR for the refugee card. Due to my physical status, pregnancy, they soon granted refugee to us. I gave birth to my first kid in Pakistan.

Later MKO came to my husband. He insisted on going to Iraq and I disagreed but my husband said:

”It is very good to live in Iraq. They have a very good situation there. We will have a comfortable life. If we don’t want to live there, we can go to a European country.”

But from the other side the MKO’s representative said:

” everyone cannot step in this way. It is so hard. “

But my husband said:

”No, it’s not like that. They say these words to everyone who wants to join MKO, but it is not actually as what he says. They have a very relaxing life. They want to know how loyal the members are and such things.”

He said these things to convince me to be satisfied and tolerate any difficulty.

Therefore, in 1987 we came to Iraq with our two-month old baby. They received us in the best hotels of Baghdad and settled us in a 5-starred hotel. After a period of residence in the hotel they told me that I can leave my kid to the nursery and work in their school. I remember that they took our passport and refugee card when we arrived at the airport and we couldn’t understand that they were blocking all the way back.

When I got their base, I left my baby to the nursery and started working as a teacher in their school. We were practically gotten involved in the organization’s relations.

The process continued until they told us that they wanted to send the children to Europe. This was a plan after the Gulf War. They used the opportunity and said:

”We are not able to keep children here any more and we must send them to Europe. “

They held indoctrination meetings and various factors convinced us to send the children to Europe. I talked with my husband. He said:

”we have no way out of Organization’s relations and no appropriate facilities and means to live our life in Iraq without MKO. We can not return Iran because we will be arrested and executed there. Besides we have no money and the organization keeps our documents.”

The Mujahedin Organization held indoctrination meetings and various factors convinced us to send the children to EuropeActually he was gotten stuck within the Organization’s relations so he wanted to continue as before.

So he convinced me to let our children go for their own sake in the hope that they will be lucky and happy there and we will be loyal to each other here and soon we will also go abroad. Or we will go to Iran after victory. He seriously emphasized that the regime of Iran would overthrow in 6 or 7 months and we would go to Iran.

After that I remember that I was so sad and I missed my children. I cried under the blanket at nights because we shouldn’t show our emotions. If they found out that I had missed my children, they would punish me. They said:

” what’s wrong with you? You are a revolutionary avant-garde. You are here to liberate your country.”

So I tried to hide my feelings. Then the promotions began in the organization. They held special programs to allegedly liberate the women in revolutionary phases, heightening the scene of responsibility of the weakened women.

Thus everyday I was promoted in my ranks and duties. After the departure of my children, I received military trainings and soon, in 1993, I was the commandant of a unit.

In 1991, the mandatory divorces were ordered. They said:

”Anyone who wants to stay and continue the way must divorce from her husband. “

Therefore in an artificial atmosphere, anyone wanted to take off her ring and declared her divorce to show that she is superior and more liberated.

This was Masud and Maryam’s plan to separate the spouses. [..]

After the divorces, the control was heightened to keep the men and women away from each other. If even the members thought about their spouses or asked any question about them, they would be punished seriously.

Later the group forced the men to give their hegemony following giving their wives to the organization and under the revolutionary titles they handed their duties to the women gradually.

I remember that I was the commandant of a unit with 11 tanks, each one with 3 service-men. It was a big responsibility and I had no free time. I could relax only two hours a day. Then I received computer training for 4 years after I went to Britain with a false passport. At the time the systems of the computers in MKO was Appel and the group wanted to promote them to PC so I was chosen for some new trainings.

During the war I learned the site systems and designed websites.  I only for a short time worked in the recruitment section to recruit new forces. In 2007, I was promoted to the Leadership Council.

I attended the meetings of the Leadership Council which were held once a week. We held several meetings when Masud and Maryam were in Iraq and later, as the layer of the leadership council we had the meetings everyday.

In 2006,I was the subject  of the meetings for a long time. They asked me why I’m not relaxed. Why I’m depressed or thoughtful. They constantly put me under questions until I got several phone calls from Masud Rajavi.

The secretary of US embassy exposed PMOI leadership

The Second secretary of US embassy report on the horrible crimes of MKO leader

The second secretary of the American embassy in Baghdad, published a documented report on the crimes committed by the MEK’s leaders who bloodshed their own colleagues, raped the women of Ashraf, poisoned and executed dozens of the defectors.

According to FNA reporter in Baghdad, the second secretary of American embassy in Baghdad, William, revealed the bloody violence of Masud Rajavi, MKO leader, against the dissident members, in the third and forth chapter of the report on the actual situation of Mujahedin.

The American official, who investigated the documents and files on Mujahedin, has been one of the authorities who control Camp Ashraf. The report reads:

Like Malik Farough, the former king of Jordan, Masud Rajavi abuses even his female colleagues.”

In another part of the report you can read:

” Rajavi has expanded sexual relations with the female military, political and administrative ranks of the group. He also ordered the doctors to do hysterectomy surgery on some of them.

He noted that he has watched the films of the confessions of the women.

The second secretary of the American embassy mentioned that Rajavi sent the husbands to the deadly operations so as he can reach the wives and possess them in Napoleon’s way. In the existing documents in Ashraf you find out that some of the deaths in the group were not random but intentionally planned. In his long report William noted three cases of the planned deaths and wrote:

”the confessions of some of group members reveal that Rajavi was involved in 19 cases of death personally ordering the assassination.”

This American authority points out poisoning of the members and writes:

“Rajavi ordered the silent death, poisoning some friends or colleagues.

He added:

Now, it is clear for the US that MEK’s leader was involved in the suspicious death of his colleagues who were killed under his order but their death was reported falsely as the result of sickness or accident.

He continued mentioning that the forces of MEK are disappointed at the present time in Iraq and present no benefit to the US administration in the current Iraqi scene.

In a part of the report he writes:

Most of Mujahedin forces are suffering dangerous mental diseases and are likely to commit suicide or homicide.

Besides the Iraqi security authorities stressed that the Americans investigated some individuals who confessed that the MEK leader was involved in the assassination of Iranians residing abroad and some defectors of the group. To commit the assassinations, MKO enjoyed the assistance of embassies of the Saddam’s regime and his security organizations.

France

Will France risk letting Mujahedin in?

The Iraqi government’s holding control of Camp Ashraf may lead to adverse consequences for the cultist group of Mojahedin (also known as MKO, MEK, PMOI) one of which is the fact that they would be forced to weigh anchor from Iraq and drop it in another country in a little while. The news about the U.S. agreeing to take 16 MKO leaders as refugees may confirm this supposition. Where Mojahedin are destined to settle is a matter of uncertainty. Jordan was supposed to be a possible alternative; however, despite the MKO high-rankings’ conferral with Jordanian parliamentarians, its government refused to provide a place of residence for MKO.  At any case, Mojahedin are well aware that their settlement in Iraq is temporary and they have to look for settlement in another country.

Undoubtedly, Mojahedin are willing to grow roots in a country where they would ensure the integrity of their cultic relations. At the time being, Auvers-sur-Oise seems to be their first preference since they have managed to turn it into a bastion of terrorist plots. There are many evidences that Mojahedin have constructed a cult-like enclave in France. Much to the surprise of those visiting Auvers-Sur-Oise, Mojahedin have provided modern security systems therein and can survive there for a long time without coming into contact with the world outside. Furthermore, DST has repeatedly stated that Mojahedin are about to turn Auvers-Sur-Oise to another Camp Ashraf in the Europe. It seems that Mojahedin consider France as their potential alternative for abiding after their expulsion from Iraqi soil.

However, it is evident that France can hardly consent to provide a shelter for the organizational body of MKO whose ranking members have already settled there. It has paid considerable cost as for the presence of Mojahedin leaders and their atrocities like that of the case of June 17th, illegal and criminal activities of MKO inside France, cult-like behavior of MKO members (self-immolation in Paris streets) and the like. In addition, it has to be pointed out that before the designation of MKO as a terrorist organization, Mojahedin had claimed to be perpetrators of almost all terrorist operations inside the Iranian soil to give a show of their military potentialities. As reported by DST:

Since 1998, the PMOI, which had been the principal opposition party to the Teheran regime, has lost its political influence. It has radicalised its activity and increased the number of terrorist and military attacks on Iran. On 2 June 1998, the PMOI issued a press release, in French, claiming responsibility for a bombing of the Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Teheran. Ten people were killed or wounded. On 3 June 1998, in another press release, the movement claimed it was responsible for a mortar attack on the Pasdaran Headquarters. Two months later, a dispatch received in the Nicosia Bureau (Cyprus) of Agence France Presse claimed responsibility for the assassination of Assadolah Ladjevardi on 23 August 1998. He had been the warden of Evin Prison in Iran. In 2001, the PMOI claimed authorship of 195 attacks against Iran. The organisation makes many of these claims for actions in Iran from the PMOI’s French base. They are disseminated either by fax or by the organisation’s Website: http:/www.iran.Mojahedin.org. 1

Also, Mojahedin have reportedly resorted to propaganda blitz in order to incite readers to carry out aggressive and terrorist actions against the Iranian leaders visiting France:

Some articles that are particularly violent in tone and call outright for tile physical elimination of the main leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These titles show in a concrete and significant way how dangerous the organisation is and the incitement to violence contained in its leaders’ language, published in their newspaper. The tone of these articles shows how its circulation in France constitutes a risk for public order. It incites its readers to murder the Iran’s highest leaders who, in turn, are possible official visitors to France. 2

Other illegal activities pertaining to MKO headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise are as follows:

We have been able to identify numerous PMOI members recruited and housed in France, making regular trips to Iraq. This is, of course, where the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLAI) camps were: the armed wing of the PMOI. We have also established that these members have been able to use false documents or false identities. They also follow several different routes to Iraq: passing through Jordan, Egypt, or Turkey. They make their connections through different European countries, such as Belgium and the Netherlands. The clandestine protocols are, of course, designed to avoid any tracing of their travels. Once in Iraq, the militants undergo various levels of political and military training. The NLAI fighters coming from Iraq regularly visit PMOI HQ in Auvers-sur-Oise, while veteran soldiers are installed in France and remain continuously active in promoting the organisation. 3

Accordingly, it would be an act of high risk and cost to establish a refugee camp for Mojahedin. In the political scene, the government inevitably has to reconsider its political relations with Iranian regime and then, other members of the EU have to be convinced why the heart of Europe has to set up a bastion for terrorism. Besides, will French people tolerate a cultic gang living next door? In the recent years, as the reports indicate and the ex-members disclose, the main cause behind separation of several thousand members has been the hegemonic and egocentric rule by the ideological leaders Maryam and Masoud Rajavi. The wife is already running a majestic life in Auvers-Sur-Oise waiting for the husband to join as well as the other rank and file. It all depends on French government.

Hysterectomy, latest MKO cult strategy

Of the most inhuman practices carried out within the MKO terrorist organization is the misuse of modern science to make women infertile.

Batoul Soltani, who was a Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) member for 20 years and was promoted to the rank of the leadership council of the terrorist organization, told Press TV that individuals in the Mojahedin-e Khalq cult should reach what the organization sees as a peak by cutting all their links with the outside world.

“The women members who have dedicated their family life, children and husbands to the cult leaders are totally separated from the outside world by the removal of their womb. In the organization, the hysterectomy surgery is considered as reaching the peak.”

The former authority of camp Ashraf in Iraq, noted that some of the women even didn’t have an idea of the operation done on their body since they were told that the operations are done for curing their sickness. Soltani also mentioned the leaders of the cult concluded that the removal of sexual parts of the body is even physically necessary.

Mojahedin-e Khalq which has undergone a so called ideological revolution has paved the way for a number of cultic practices within the organization. To name them, they are compulsory divorces, victimizing children, separating children from their families, trying to eliminate biological differences between men and women by forcing female members to carry out hard work, and now resorting to hysterectomy.

It appears that the ideological revolution of Mojahedin-e Khalq not only led the organization to transform into a notorious cult, but also brought about countless negative consequences, most of which have so far remained unknown to the outside world.

News about MKO’s recent scandal has leaked out while Maryam Rajavi, wife of MKO leader Masoud Rajavi, seeks to introduce herself a radical feminist and the true defender of women rights.

Furthermore, she refers to the achievements of the ideological revolution of Mojahedin-e Khalq as a solution for the challenges concerning women rights.

The group is responsible for bombings, killings, and attacks against Iranian government officials and civilians over the past 25 years, including the assassination of the late president Mohammad-Ali Rajaei, prime minister Bahonar and judiciary chief Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti.

The MKO is also known to have cooperated with Iraq’s former dictator Saddam Hussein to suppress the Iraqi people.

Self Immolation;The holy Operation

Following Maryam Rajavi’s arrest in France, a number of Mojahedin’s sympathizers, reported 20, committed self-immolations in streets of Paris and other Western cities to obtain her liberation. These acts of self-burning were organizationally preset acts of dissent dictated to the members who practiced them.

This has been referred to in the website of Mansour Ghadr Khah, a member of NCRI, called “Iran liberty”. In this regard Ghadr Khah states: “Hundreds of people have inscribed themselves in the list for self-immolation. So, if the French government does not put an end to its common plot with the Iranian regime, they are determined to set themselves ablaze.”

PMOI members arrested in France in June 2003

In June 2003, police arrested 167 people in the Paris suburb of Auvers-sur-Oise where the MKO is based. Of those arrested, 17 were placed under formal investigation, including Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the MKO’s political wing on suspicion of "associating with wrongdoers in relation with a terrorist undertaking".

The cult of Rajavi

Female members of MKO are made barren

Hysterectomy, the latest cult approach in Mojahedin

The ideological revolution of Mojahedin not only led the organization to the precipice of transformation into a notorious cult of personality but also brought about countless negative consequences most of which have so far remained unknown to the world outside.  Of the most inhuman, tragic cult practices carried out within the cult of Mojahedin (also known as MKO, MEK, PMOI) that might shock the modern world, among whom the group heavily propagates its pro-democratic policies, is misusing modern science to make women infertile. The disclosing speech of Nasrin Ebrahimi, the recently detached member of MKO, in the European Parliament in September 9, 2008, on the fact that female members of MKO are made barren revealed another cultic aspect of the organization. She has recently escaped from Camp Ashraf following the pressures to enforce her undergo hysterectomy. Her comments disclose another undeniable fact on the organization and which can face it with critical challenges.

For sure, even the western advocates of MKO and lobbying parliamentarians have been unaware of these inhuman and brutal actions that are only expected of ill-famed, destructive cults. As the elite of their own nations, at least they have to be concerned about the actions of the group they are lobbying for to unleash among their own people. In fact, they have to take a different look at the organization to develop a deeper understanding of the nature of MKO. Reported by Iran-Interlink quoting Ms. Ebrahimi making her speech at the European Parliament: “to kill the hope in women’s hearts the organization resorted to hysterectomy done under a variety of pretexts. At the present, more than 10 percent of MKO female members have undergone the operation”.

She further expounded that she was one of the elected victims who managed to escape before going through the surgery and urged the parliamentarians to send medical experts to do exact investigations.

Those familiar with the course of events within MKO and its cultic relations are never surprised at hearing such stated remarks since they are well aware of the fact that the ideological revolution of Mojahedin paved the way for a number of cultic practices within the organization. To name them, they are compulsory divorces, victimizing children, separating children from their families, trying to eliminate biological differences between men and women by forcing female members to carry out hard work, and now resorting to hysterectomy.

Being an identical feature shared by most cults, MKO is unpredictable. Who knows what might be the next ruthless cultic performance kept concealed from the eyes of its advocates who are deceived by the chanted democratic slogans of MKO to be removed from the terrorist list? They have to answer this question and bear all the consequences of their blind support of MKO. They may even justify cultic behaviors of the organization under many excuses as they did following the self-immolation of a number of members in France; however, those truly seeking to defend human rights cannot ignore this cases explicitly violating human rights and have to take necessary measures to look into different dimensions of the tragedy.

News about MKO’s recent scandal is leaked out while Maryam Rajavi seeks to introduce herself a radical feminist and the sole true defender of women rights all around the world. Furthermore, she refers to the achievements of the ideological revolution of Mojahedin as the sole solution for all the challenges met by global institutions and communities concerning women rights. Of paradoxical issues is the fact that in our modern age of communication and information the leader of a cult, under whose command women are victimized in the most barbaric and reactionary forms, makes claims to be an ardent advocate of women rights. Strangely enough, her Western protectors defend her critical role in these cultic, tragic deeds as pro-democratic practices and criticize the opponents.

Ms. Ebrahimi’s petition for more investigations on the state of victimized women in Camp Ashraf provides a chance for these advocates to reconsider their stance of unconventional support for Mojahedin. Meanwhile, it is an issue open to question that why the active ex-members and Sahar Family Foundation SFF have kept silent and been passive to cope with this unethical issue that can in itself work as an instigation to move women throughout the world.

Human Rights Abuse in the MEK

How many women of PMOI have reached the summit?

New details on the Infertilization Plan of MKO to promote the ranks of women in the cult

A former member of MKO, in Iraq said:

The people‘s Mujahedin of Iran does hysterectomy surgeries on women ranks and file and promotes them to the Ideal Summit [total devotion to leader] .They have made 150 women barren so far.

The people‘s Mujahedin of Iran does hysterectomy surgeries on women ranks and file and promotes them to the Ideal SummitMrs.Batoul Soltani (43) who has a 20-year experience of membership in MKO and worked professionally and actively in Iraq, Britain and France and mounted to the rank of the leadership council of PMOI, participated a press meeting among foreign journalists of Iraq answering the FNA’s correspondent’s questions.

At the beginning she explained the recruitment methods that the group uses to increase the number of members and said that she joined the organization due to her adolescence ideas that needed to be filled by political activities.

She noted that  the criterion for the promotion in the cult is based on the dimensions of your devotion to the leaders.

This former member left her kids and divorced her husband after the Ideological Revolution in MKO. The reason she stated the FNA was:

” I was melted in the organization so seriously. If you want to find out the reason, you should search in the basis of the cults. “

She described the manipulation techniques including forced divorces, self-criticism meetings …, used by the cult. She believes that the MKO cult is an isolated laboratory in which the members are brainwashed and through a process are changed to get to a point when they are really eager to commit any act even to be barren.

the individual in the cult should reach a summit and this summit for women is to cut all their links with the outside world

She added that the individual in the cult should reach a summit and this summit for women is to cut all their links with the outside world. The women members who have dedicated their family life, children and husband to the cult leaders are totally separated from the outside world by the removal of their womb.

Remembering one of the meetings of the Leadership Council in MKO, she stated:

” In the meeting Nafiseh Badamchi (the only doctor who had a leadership rank) was ordered by Masud Rajavi to remove the womb of the women in the organization and she would be privileged by Masud Rajavi due to the rise of the number of women done the surgery.

In the organization the hysterectomy surgery is considered as reaching the summit. For Example in the meeting Masud Rajavi asked:

“How many women have reached the summit? How many are waiting for the surgery?”

The ex-member of the leadership council mentioned that the leaders of the cult concluded that the removal of sexual parts of the body is even physically necessary.

Some of the women even didn’t have any idea of the operation done on their body since they were told false justifications.

The former authority of camp Ashraf noted finally that Mrs. Nasrin Ebrahimi (nicknamed Batoul) who has recently been released from MKO has explained the Summit operation for the authorities of the EU in Europe to attire the attention of the human Right bodies to the inhuman acts of MKO.
