MKO-Pezhak Establish Military Cooperation

Reports from European countries involved in Iraq affairs indicate that Mojahedin-e Khalq, which has a military base in northern Iraq and acts against Iran, has strengthened its ties with Iranian Kurds, who are fighting Iraqi forces in along the northern borders.

Reports show that cooperation between the MKO and Kurdish group of Pezhak, Iranian branch of PKK, has increased significantly so that the MKO leaders provide Pezhak militants with weapons, intelligence and training.

European officials are concerned about the increase of PKK’s abilities because they believed that it would cause more instability and unrest in the region and therefore, Turkey would have to get closer to Iran to put out the fire.

While ago, border region witnessed scattered clashes between Iranian forces and the militants.
