In a new development, Struan Stevenson and Vidal Qadras have stopped their support for the Rajavis, leaders of the Mojahedin-e Khalq cult.
the rush to get back to issues involving Iran, they have abandoned the MKO. As they say in the newsroom, they have ‘dropped the dead donkey’.
The former advocates of the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation (MKO, MEK, NCRI, Rajavi cult) moved to the Iraq Delegation to make best use of the cult when the MKO issue became defunct in relation to Iran and became a more useful tool in support of the Saddamists in Iraq.

But the MKO failed to do anything for them in Iraq, and the Israeli lobby has decided to get involved again in demonizing Iran.

It is particularly pertinent at precisely the time when Israeli soldiers killed several aid workers on a ship in international waters – what it described as a ‘PR disaster’! which fed into the hands of Iran.

In a protest, MEPs Stevenson and Vidal-Qadras, from the Iraq Delegation, heckled the Iranian Foreign Minister during his visit to the European Parliament.

The significance of this is that in the rush to get back to issues involving Iran, they have abandoned the MKO. As they say in the newsroom, they have ‘dropped the dead donkey’.

4. Exchange of views on the Iraqi national elections of 7 March 2010, in the presence of: – H.E. Mr Mohammed Jawad AL-DOREKY, Ambassador of Iraq, and – Ms. Patricia LLOMBART CUSSAC, Head of Unit for relations with the Gulf countries, Iran, Iraq and Yemen at the European Commission

HE Ambassador Mohammed Jawad Al-Doreky stressed the importance of these elections, as second cycle after the dictatorship, especially that the government to be formed will be the first one to rule the country after the withdrawal of the foreign military forces. He thanked Members who commended the large participation of Iraqis to vote. He stressed the efforts made for a good organisation of the elections, mentioning that IHEC members were chosen by the parliament and that United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) supported them continuously. He stressed that the elections were under the scrutiny of a large number of monitors and observers, national and international. He acknowledged that frauds might exist, but stressed that if there are accusations of fraud they should be brought to the attention of the IHEC (further step, to Court). He underlined that accepting allegations from people nonidentifiable or writing articles on that matter will not help solving the problem but could bring a lot of damage to the Iraqi – EU relation. In context, he stressed that in Iraq the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI) is considered a terrorist organization. For clarifying the position of the Members of the Delegation, he asked for a statement to be issued in which to be specified that the Delegation is not taking sides and is waiting for the results of the elections and for the report of EU monitors.

Mr Stevenson replied stressing that his aspirations are to support all Iraqis in seeking free, democratic, open society, including the end of insurgency. He underlined that he has not been hijacked by any political party or entity in Iraq, that he is not supporting a particular party; he is not biast in any way and looks forward to work with any new government in Iraq. He stressed also the importance for an emerging democracy to handle the allegations of fraud in elections, and that that could be handled by the IHEC.

Turkish Official Deplores MKO’s Crimes against Humanity

A senior Turkish foreign ministry official underlined his country’s resolve to fight terrorism, and strongly condemned the crimes committed by the anti-Iran terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), against humanity. Turkey has seriously confronted the MKO terrorists during the last few years and does not allow them to make any move

"Turkey has seriously confronted the MKO terrorists during the last few years and does not allow them to make any move, and it also condemns their crimes which should be viewed as crimes against humanity," Turkish Deputy Foreign Minster Hakki Akil said in a meeting with the members of the Iranian Edalat (Justice) Society (families of the victims of terrorism).

Akil also called for the establishment of direct ties and joint exhibitions as well as cooperation between the two countries’ NGOs as part of a joint campaign against terrorism and terrorist groups.

He highlighted Ankara’s sensitivity to the issue of terrorism, and added, "The Turkish nation and government believe that no rationale can justify terrorism, and terrorism in any place of the world and by any group is condemned (by Turkey)."

The official further underscored that his country would spare no effort to fight terrorism and terrorist groups.

The MKO targeted Iranian government officials and civilians in Iran and abroad in the early 1980s. The group also attempted an unsuccessful invasion of Iran in the last days of the Iraq-Iran war in 1988.

The MKO is behind a slew of assassinations and bombings inside Iran, a number of EU parliamentarians said in a letter in which they slammed a British court decision to remove the MKO from the British terror list. The EU officials also added that the group has no public support within Iran because of their role in helping Saddam Hussein in the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988).

Many of the MKO members abandoned the terrorist organization while most of those still remaining in the camp are said to be willing to quit but are under pressure and torture not to do so.

A May 2005 Human Rights Watch report accused the MKO of running prison camps in Iraq and committing human rights violations.
According to the Human Rights Watch report, the outlawed group puts defectors under torture and jail terms.

The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the Islamic Revolution in Iran in a bid to take control of the newly established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the Revolution, including the then President Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar and Judiciary Chief Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.
The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

The MKO was put on the US terror list in 1997 by the then President, Bill Clinton, but since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, the group has been strongly backed by the Washington Neocons, who also argue for the MKO to be taken off the US terror list.

Iraq Blames Mojahedin Khalq for Recent Terrorist Attacks in Khalis

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraq’s De-Baathification Campaign announced that the anti-Iran terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), was behind the recent terrorist attack in the town of Khalis, north of Baghdad.

Explosions that ripped through a cafe and a restaurant in the Diyala Province town of Khalis in March killed 43 people and wounded at least 65 others.

The blasts occurred hours before the government released the results of the country’s March 7 parliamentary elections.

"Based on investigations by Iraq’s security authorities working on the case, MKO has had a hand in the recent explosions in Khalis that martyred and wounded dozens of innocent people of the region," the campaign said in a statement a copy of which was released by the Habilian website.
The campaign also called on all active political groups in Iraq to take a clear and immediate stance against the MKO and voice their view about the ongoing efforts to end the group’s presence in Iraq.

"Presence of the MKO in Iraq is a blatant interference in the domestic affairs of our friendly and neighboring country (Iran) and is, thus, a violation of Iraq’s Constitution which considers presence of terrorist organizations that act against the other states as illegal," the statement reiterated.

Earlier in March, the Iraqi people in the city of Al-Khalis in Diyala province had called on the future Iraqi government to expel MKO members from the country as soon as possible.

The people of Al-Khalis urged the next government to expel the members of terrorist MKO group, stationed in Camp Ashraf in Diyala province.

The group is responsible for numerous acts of violence against Iranian civilians and government officials as well as Iraqis during the rein of Saddam.

Statement of De-Baathification Campaign against MKO

Issuing a statement the Iraqi anti-Baathist movement declared yesterday: “According to the investigations by the responsible Iraqi security systems, MKO (a.k.a MEK, PMOI, NCRI…) terrorist cult was involved in the recent explosion in the Iraqi city of Khalis which led to the death and injury of dozens of innocent people of the region.”

In this statement, a copy of which was sent to Habilian Association, the anti-Baathist movement urged the active Iraqi political groups to take immediate and explicit position against the terrorist MKO cult.

The full text of this statement is as follows:

MKO presence in Iraq is the flagrant violation of the Iraqi constitution
The anti- Baathist movement asks for all political groups active in Iraq to take an immediate and explicit position against the MKO and to try to end this terrorist organization’s unwanted presence in Iraq, especially now that it’s hidden to no one the heavy costs of damage it has imposed to the Iraqi people, the very recent of which was targeting dozens of innocent people in a brutal explosion in the city of Khalis.

Initial information suggests that the name of the group was listed in the research results of the security forces about the explosion led to the martyrdom and injury of dozens of peoples in the region.

MKO presence in Iraq is an obvious interference in the internal affairs of our friendly neighboring country and a blatant violation of the Iraqi constitution based on which the presence of hostile terrorist organizations which act against the other countries from inside Iraq is illegal.

As the anti-Baathist movement of Iraq and regarding the necessity of protecting the nation’s achievements and its strategic interests, we demand the Iraqi government to set in motion the expulsion of MKO terrorist group from Iraq as soon as possible and to end the file of a terrorist cult which has caused serious damages to our nation and spilt a lot of blood in suppressing the Shiites Intifada and massacre of Iraqi Kurds and hiding the mass graves of the innocent people in Diyala province.

Immediate trial of this organization or its instant dismissal from Iraq is the least we could do in return for the blood of those who have been martyred by this terrorist cult.

MEK has been stuck in a sheer pragmatism for more than two decades. The strategy of armed struggle using terror tactics in order to achieve power in Iran did not succeed. MEK’s ideological leader has not been able to realize and analyze the concrete situation and the reality of Iranian society so it has been suffering dizziness.

The terrorist cult of Rajavi, apparently relying on ideological Islam and passive understanding of Marxist instructions as their rhetoric of struggle, has had structural and fundamental contradiction in both its thinking system and its view on the world.

In its political aspect, MEK has not realized that having a public base among masses of people is a vital factor. Instead they have resorted to a closed cycle of violence for violence and terror for terror.

For three decades, they have never reviewed their strategy and never reconstructed their cult relationships. Because of their psychological, mental problem, they may think that they do not need any change in their ideology and strategy.

Now, where are the MEK going? The captured members of Camp Ashraf have an ambiguous fate. Being stuck in Ashraf, they encounter the risk of being expelled from Iraq; however, their leaders do not permit them to get released from closed bars of the organization in order to visit their families in a free atmosphere without any systematic control by the cult!

MEK speaks of Ashraf a garnished city but there are no children or teenagers in their so-called city. The residents of Ashraf do not have any idea of the notion “Family” because about two decades ago the ideological leader of MEK forced the couples in the cult to divorce and separated their children from their parents. They sent them to Europe to be grown up in a sympathizer family on the basis of terrorist, cult-like believes. They would then be transferred to Ashraf where they would serve as operational agents for terrorist activities.

During the six past years after the disarmament of Mujahedin Khalq by US military, the majority of Iraqi populations have been asking for the expulsion of MEK due to their notorious cooperation with former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the massacre of Kurds and Shiites. Thus both Iraqis and Iranians call MEK “traitors”.
After the US army started withdrawing from Iraq, according to an agreement with Iraqi government, the control of Camp Ashraf was handed over to Iraqi authorities and MEK were left with an uncertain future since the popular, democratic Iraqi government is famous for its friendly strategic relations with Islamic Republic so it was determined to take over Camp Ashraf and expel the MEK from Iraqi territory.

The leaders of MEK launched a large-scale propaganda to portrait themselves as a democratic movement before western politicians and parliamentarians. However, human rights bodies including HRW consider the group as a cult of personality around Maryam and Massoud Rajavi. They introduce Camp Ashraf as a military Camp where the values of modern world and the norms of developed societies are violated and the relations are based on manipulation techniques and constant bombing of beliefs.

In January 2009, once more the Department of State considered MEK as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and the then secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, in a post on US official newspaper, confirmed that the investigations on MEK’s file verified the US administration’s decision for the designation of MEK as an FTO. The Canadian government has also listed MEK as a terrorist group since May 2005.

The members of MEK have not contacted their families for more than two decades, according to Western media. When in 2004, a western visitor went to Ashraf, he used his satellite cell phone to call some of their families. “They could not believe that they were speaking to their children “he said,” Because the leaders of the cult had told them that their beloved ones had been killed.”

Massoud Rajavi, the ideological leader of MEK, has been fugitive since 2003 the Iraqi Freedom Operation by US. Maryam Qajar Azdanlou( Rajavi),the self-assigned president of MEK is always on business trips to deceive western politicians in order to gain their support for her declining cult.

It is not certain what will happen to MEK but what is certain is that the process of defection from MEK has been accelerated. More than eight hundred members have left Camp Ashraf since 2003 and for the time being the Camp is under the control of Iraqi forces. The families come to the Camp to save their children. It is foreseen that a large number of members will return to their homes in near future.

New regulation of “no questions” forced inside the MKO camp in Iraq

Following the report of December 24, 2009 entitled “New wave of dissatisfaction and disarray in Camp Ashraf”

in which information from within camp Ashraf was given to the families of the victims of the Rajavi cult, we would like to announce that a significant and growing number of the forces inside Ashraf Garrison are now dissatisfied. They have serious doubts and questions about the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation and its leadership. They do not have complete trust in the organisation anymore. This has resulted in the creation of a widening gap between the leadership and the body of the organisation inside the camp. The growing unrest can be seen from the rapidly growing number of slogans being written clandestinely on the walls in public places inside the camp against the Mojahedin Organisation and its leadership.

Members now ask questions about their doubts over the past years of practices of the Mojahedin organisation and its leadership. The unlimited questions cover many aspects of the past practices which of course are all left unanswered and no commander is ready to even tackle any of them.

This has resulted in many members effectively leaving the organisation, but the Leaders and the commanders do not allow them get out of the camp and have in fact imprisoned them inside the camp. The organisation of course has a history of refusing its members to even leave the camp for a few hours in order to meet and visit their families.

Rajavi has recently been trying to calm the members by diverting their attention with a series of messages and propaganda tapes. The messages clearly forbid any questioning in any field by any member. Alongside this, members are now forced to do hard physical labour including agricultural, production and services for unlimited hours. This is believed to be affecting the mental judgement of the members as the creation of exhausting fatigue renders them unable to think about their problems and questions. According to reports coming out of the camp this practice of exhaustion is even more useful in the case of the known members who have been identified as disaffected.

Sahar Family Foundation in Baghdad is urging the international community, human rights organisations as well as the authorities in the Iraqi Government and Western governments to look at the situation of Ashraf Garrison and stop the dangers posed by the leaders of the group against the people residing there. Sahar Family Foundation is announcing as it has always announced before its willingness to help and cooperate with Iraqi and International bodies in this humanitarian mission.

The MKO expulsion should be finalized as no Iraqi people as well as MPs want the country to be used to attack the neighbouring countries from,” editor of Iraqi Kurdistan’s Al-Amal Al-Islami newspaper said.

Iraqis will vote Sunday in parliamentary elections to determine who will govern the country.

Al-Attar labeled Saleh Al-Mutlaq and Dhafer Al-Ani views on the MKO as “unimportant”, insisting that “a large majority of Iraqi MPs wish MKO to be expelled”. “The two MPs are disqualified from running in Iraq’s general election,” he added.

“Despite the fact that Iraqi Transitional Council and Parliament insisted on expelling the terrorist cult, it has been able to keep its presence only thanks to the pressures of the US-led occupiers,” director of Iraq’s Centre for Developmental Studies commented.

“Legal mechanisms for expelling the terrorist cult will continue after the new government begins its work,” Al-Attar said. “The expulsion will be done more easily as the US-led coalition leaves Iraq in 2011 summer.”

“All Iraqi witness to the MKO’s involvement in suppressing Iraq’s 1991 anti-Saddam uprising, especially in Kurdistan,” he insisted, rejecting claims about MKO’s not involving in terror attacks against Iraqi people.

Al-khaddran added: "We hope the new government will remove this Organization from the land of Iraq and enforce the Constitution, which provides that Iraq not be used as a base for aggression and harm to neighbouring countries that enjoy good relations with them". Governor of Khales, Khalis Uday Al-khaddran, said he had filed a lawsuit on behalf of the citizens of Khales against the Mojahedin organization for the crimes perpetrated against them. Al-khaddran said that the MKO has held around 6000 dunums of land in Khalis district for more than 18 years. This organization was the right hand of the deposed (Saddam) regime and played a prominent role in sheltering and supporting what he described as (criminals of the state).
Al-khaddran added: "We hope the new government will remove this Organization from the land of Iraq and enforce the Constitution, which provides that Iraq not be used as a base for aggression and harm to neighbouring countries that enjoy good relations with them". At the same time I am requesting from humanitarian and international organizations that they find an alternative place for the organization and take them out of Iraq.
Diyala has seen a significant improvement in security since last July after the Camp of New Iraq (formerly Ashraf) came under the control of the Iraqi government, which has in turn offered MKO members that they may return to either Iran or to any other country. They do not come under the rules which apply to refuges or those with families within Iraq according to International law.

US: Homeless woman was MKO top terrorist leader

An Iranian widow who became a naturalized US citizen 10 years ago was a top official for a heavily armed, Iraq-based terrorist organization dedicated to the violent overthrow of Iran’s government, the US government alleges in court documents. The documents, obtained from Brooklyn court files on Monday, say two confidential informants in Iraq identified Zeinab Taleb-Jedi, 51, as a leader of the Mujahedeen Khalq.

The group was identified in court papers as Mujahedin-e Khalq. One of the informants told the FBI that Taleb-Jedi was on a council”responsible for making leadership decisions for the organization, including approving specific acts of terrorism”against Iran, the papers said. Taleb-Jedi was arrested in March after flying from Jordan to Kennedy International Airport.

A judge agreed to release her on $500,000 bond. The court papers said she has been living at a women’s shelter in Manhattan. Taleb-Jedi was among 200 Muhjahedeen Khalq members detained and questioned by the FBI in 2004 after US military forces took over parts of Iraq once controlled by the group, the documents said. US soldiers seized tanks, anti-aircraft weapons, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and more than 420,000 pounds of plastic explosives.

At the time, Taleb-Jedi allegedly told agents she”wholeheartedly supports the Mujahedin,”the papers said. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles, who have been investigating the group, announced last week that a grand jury in Brooklyn had indicted Taleb-Jedi on charges of providing support to a terrorist organization. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison. The group, also known as the People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran, and its affiliates were deemed foreign terrorist organizations by the US State Department in 1997. The designations bar anyone in the United States from providing material support. The defendant, who was born in Iran, came to the United States on a student visa in 1978 to pursue a master’s degree in political science in Georgia, court papers said.

She later moved to Queens before settling in Virginia, where she became a naturalized US citizen. In her FBI interview, Taleb-Jedi told agents her husband joined the Mujahedeen and went to Iraq in 1986. In 1999, after learning her husband was killed in a bombing, she”left her job, sold all her belongings and traveled”to the group’s Ashraf Base in Iraq, 40 miles north of Baghdad, documents said. A call to her attorney on Monday was not immediately returned. Arguing for her release at an arraignment, defense attorney Justine Harris said her client had returned to the United States to see her adult son and to seek medical treatment for a severe digestive ailment that had pushed her weight down to 95 pounds.

“This a middle-age woman with absolutely no record,”the lawyer said. The group was founded in Iran in the 1960s and moved to Iraq in the early 1980s to base its activities against Iran’s government. It sided with Iraq in its 1980-88 war against Iran. The State Department says the groups were funded by Saddam Hussein, supported the seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and are responsible for the deaths of Americans in the 1970s.
