Terror In The Name Of Democracy: Initiation of Armed Revolt

The eruption of riots was actually MKO’s first organized armed revolt to steer the country to the verge of anarchy

The eruption of riots was actually MKO’s first organized armed revolt to steer the country to the verge of a chaotic atmosphere and anarchy and it was followed by daily scattered clashes, bombings and terrorist atrocities. The ousted Bani-Sadr himself used as the pretext to trigger MKO’s armed revolt, encouraged the group to precipitate the created crises by a wave of violent activities including assassination of high-ranking statesmen and personalities. In her confessions after her arrest, Sudabeh Sadifi, an adviser to Bani-Sadr, asserted that Bani-Sadr after his dismissal in a message to Massoud Rajavi, MKO’s leader, urged him to “Start striking their heads. There is no other way.”

<img align="middle"alt=""hspace="10"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Press/IRP_blast_2.jpg"vspace="10"/>

Plots to assassinate the key, influential heads in charge hatched just after Bani-Sadr and Rajavi’s hiding in the organization’s secret hideouts. The first perpetrated terrorist act was an attempt to assassinate Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Tehran’s Friday prayers at the time, on 27 June, 1981; a bomb, concealed in a tape recorder, exploded beside him while he was delivering an address in Abu Dhar mosque south of Tehran. He escaped assassination but suffered serious injuries that left his right hand handicapped. The terrorist agent was identified to be a MKO’s central cadre, Javad Qadiri.

<img alt=""height="173"hspace="10"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Press/IRP_blast_1.jpg"vspace="10"width="450"/>

Tehran was still under the shock of the attempt assassination when MKO stroke the successive terrorist blow the day after on June 28. Reportedly, two blasts ripped through IRP building as the chief Ayatollah Beheshti was addressing his regular weekly meeting. The death toll rose to 74 including Ayatollah Beheshti, Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and members of Parliament. The perpetrator was identified to be an infiltrated agent of MKO, Muhammad-Reza Kulahi. It was so heavy a strike for the newly formed regime and both MKO and Bani-Sadr expected complete destabilization and overthrow of the ruling authority. However, the public reaction to such violent, immoral deeds was nothing more than a strong feeling of repulsion towards MKO.<img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Persons/Banisadr_A/Banisadr_Moesi_Rajavi.jpg"style="margin: 10px; float: right; width: 270px; height: 241px;"/>

On July 27, 1981, Muhammad-Ali Rajai won a landslide victory in Iran’s second post-revolution presidential election. Deeply disappointed, the sole option before the two fugitives living in secret hideouts was to immediately leave the country. On 29 July, Bani-Sadr accompanied by Rajavi, in disguise and by having shaved off his customary mustache, were driven to a Tehran military base and got on board of a hijacked Iranian air force 707 jet tanker around 10 at night. It seemed unlikely that they could have gotten to the plane and aboard without the cooperation of other military personnel and particularly the pilot who flew the plane to land it at the military airfield of Evreux near Paris. The pilot, Col. Behzad Moesi, was the personal pilot of the ousted Muhammad-Reza Pahlavi whom, along with his family, he had flown out of Iran to Egypt and then to Morocco in December 1978. Unexpectedly, Moesi had returned Pahlavi’s plane, Shahin, to Iran and received a warm welcome as a hero and a revolutionary. He had succeeded to win the trust of authorities and had been appointed to sensitive military positions.

It is reasonable to assume that his return to Iran was a scenario outlined by the states antagonizing the Islamic regime and directed by intelligence agencies to establish a direct contact with the active opposition groups to arrive at an agreement for a variety of collaborative programs to advance political policies and interests inside Iran. And his return aroused nobody’s curiosity in Iran to question controversial aspects of such an easy return; how had he managed to refuel the plane and flew it out of a heavily guarded military base and pass over a few countries’ air borders to make a heroic return?

The Second Terrorist Tragedy

The fugitives’ escape to France postponed MKO’s second appalling terrorist operation scheduled to be perpetrated the month after the explosion at IRP building. Being granted political asylum just after his arrival in France, Bani-Sadr said “we must try to find a quicker way of overthrowing the absolutists”, and Rajavi vowed to “organize the resistance” against the Islamic Republic from France. There they were granted the opportunity of conveniently planning, by abundantly offered external aids, for more destructive and successful operations. The quick way to success had to be involved a variety of violent options including suicide bombing; MKO had enough devoted infiltrated agents as volunteers for these types of operation. Massoud Keshmiri, the agent who detonated the bomb in the Prime Minister’s office, had already volunteered to be a suicide bomber if necessary although he succeeded in his mission without endangering his life and managed to escape through a well-planned trick played by his fellow-mate accomplices.
On August 30, 1981, Mohammad Ali Rajai, the Iranian President, and Mohammad Javad Bahonar, the Prime Minister, were burned beyond recognition by an incendiary that set fire to the Prime Minister’s office. The victims’ bodies were identified only through dental records. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing but there was speculation, proved later, that it was work of MKO. There still remains questions concerning the planted incendiary bomb that just burned the president and his prime minister but leaving others merely injured. The third victim, Abdolhussein Daftarian, the prime ministry’s authority, died of uncontrolled consequences of the blast. The fourth victim, Hushang Dastjerdi, the head of the national police, passed away 6 days later in hospital as a result of the injuries. The bomb was said to have been planted inside a briefcase that Keshmiri carried, but there was a different judgment that it had been planted inside a tape-recorder stationed before the victims. Col. Muhammad Mahdi Katibe, a member of the meeting who survived the blast, states that:
“I believe the appropriate container to plant the bomb inside was the tap-recorder that had a capacity for more than 10 pounds explosives. I think it was a hollow case inside which they had planted a TNT time bomb with alarm clock detonator. I doubt if there was a better vessel.”

There is no guarantee that MKO leaders will stop inciting violence and tragic events

Finally, after a quarter of century Camp Ashraf, the military bastion granted to the terrorist MKO by the fallen Saddam, was closed on 21 September. The fall of the stronghold, after nearly a decade of resistance that took many victims in protecting Rajavi’s Alamut, was in fact a matter of ideological crash. However, the closure was not so simple an issue and Rajavi sent 52 of the group’s members to the altar of sacrifice in the last provoked crusade.

Rajavi knew well that he had to surrender the camp sooner or later but he also needed to buy time and keep his group’s propaganda machine running; and the price was paid by hundreds of the members’ blood before the gates were closed. The victims were all the individuals who had put their trust in Rajavi as the ideological guru who, from the seclusion of his hiding place, encouraged his followers to make the sacrifices. Not only Rajavi accepts no responsibility for the bloodshed and the killed victims but also claims that the tragedy was a heroic deed carried out spontaneously by the volunteered members.

In contrast to Rajavi’s claim and to unravel a fact, none of the group’s insiders have a choice of free will to act by themselves in any personal and organizational affair. They are human-like robots that just follow the preplanned orders. Through their organizational instructions, it has been instilled into them that there’s no place for the will of the members themselves (to think and decide) and it is just the leader who has the right to choose and decide, even for the life and death. But for the outsiders, the leaders depict a different picture of the organization as if any action by the members is a matter of free choice. Speaking to European Parliament on March 2013, for instance, Maryam Rajavi, playing the role of leader in her husband’s absence, stated:

“I must say here that it is time to understand and respect the free choice of the residents of Liberty. They do not take orders from anyone. We can talk to them and advise them, but they are the ones who decided for themselves.”

But in his messages specially recorded and delivered to the Camp Ashraf and Liberty residents on July 2013, Massoud Rajavi emboldened his followers to fulfill their pledge of loyalty to the leader and be prepared to make their noble share of sacrifice whenever the appropriate time to defend Ashraf camp. Referring to previous human tragedies he said:

“Once (to defend Camp Ashraf) you lay under the tanks and once again our brothers and sisters, I mean the burning torches, set themselves on fire as a matter of free choice. And in future Mujahedin will keep their promise if anyone tries to test them; they will fight and bathe in their blood and nothing can deter their determination to protect this land, which is a town of honor and prosperity.”

That is how Rajavi escapes the responsibility after provoking the human tragedies. If the members are the ones to decide, then, what is the need to remind them of lying before the tanks or putting themselves on fire? The glorification of such deeds is equal to encouraging or issuing the orders for building more altars for sacrifice of the insiders. And it seems the human tragedy is a never-ending story in MKO and an evil omen to be continued in Camp Liberty.

It is only the Rajavies who enjoy telling and spreading the tragic story. But the UN envoy in Iraq thinks differently. Gyorgy Busztin has come to know the seriousness of the need to protect and survive the residents particularly after the human tragedy in Camp Ashraf: “What has happened at Camp Ashraf on the first of September is a game changer. It should be a wake-up call to all countries who are in a position to help to come forward. Resettlement is the ultimate guarantee of their security.”

Camp Ashraf was closed but what about Liberty and the unsecured destiny of its residents with hundreds of brainwashed loyal and devotees of Rajavi. Is there any guarantee that the leaders will stop inciting violence and tragic events? Only those in contact with MKO can realize the seriousness of the situation and as Mr. Busztin remarks “Resettlement is the ultimate guarantee of their security”. The optimistic forecast is, however, to expect more countries to come forward to accept more refugees to reduce the number of residents in the transit camp of Liberty. For sure, once settled in a third country, the hypnotic spell of the Rajavies cult will be broken. A good example is the defection of nearly seventy members after being transferred from Iraq to Albania.

MKO adopted violence as a necessary means for bringing about democracy

The likelihood of finding principles of democracy practiced within the terrorist cult of Mojahedin Khalq, as the group claims it is adhering to after its de-proscription, is much lower than expecting a Palestine–Israel peace <img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/News/Terrorism/MKO_Terrorists_L.jpg"style="width: 240px; height: 170px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>treaty. History is about remembering and no tide of history can wash away the countless records of terrorist deeds perpetrated by the most hated terrorist MKO. Now on the anniversary of one of its most heinous terrorist operations inside Iran, blasting the Iranian Prime Minister’s Office, MKO has to be reminded of the bloody deed it deemed necessary for bringing about democracy! Can recorded evidence of this most ruthless terrorist operation be washed away when strongly and repeatedly asserted in the documents of a government aiming to take it under its protection? As asserted in the report by the US Department of State in 2007:

“In 1981, MKO leadership attempted to overthrow the newly installed Islamic regime; The MKO instigated a bombing campaign, including an attack against the head office of the Islamic Republic Party and the Prime Minister’s office, which killed some 70 high-ranking Iranian officials, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei, and Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar.”

On 30 August 1981, MKO set off a bomb in Iranian Prime Minister’s Office at 3 pm where the National Security Council was holding a meeting. The blast killed the new Iranian President, Muhammad-Ali Rajai, and his recently named Prime Minister, Mohammed Javad Bahonar. Now nearly three decades after the terrorist perpetration, it can be studied from different aspects. The details of the bombing exposed in the media abroad well suggested the role of MKO although the group refrained to directly accept the responsibility for the operation.

The terrorist act, one of the most outrageous and blamable form of terrorism in the world history, was somehow endorsed by the West when they deliberately preferred to remain silent on the act that would trigger a global tension if it happened in a Western country. At the same time, none of the Western countries approved use of terrorism as a means of implacable determination to achieve undemocratic and ambitious ends. Oddly enough, it was committed at a time when MKO was plotting its terrorist plans in its Paris safe-haven under French protection.

Bombings perpetrated by MKO not only arouse outrage and anger among the Iranian people, but also were condemned by a global consensus on the issue. That is true that some countries for certain political motives and interests hardly respect the principles of combating the truculent phenomena of terrorism, the global consensus to combat terrorism in no way justifies use of terrorism in any form.

An analysis of any terrorist deed with the cost and impact imposed on the society among whom it has been committed illuminates dark aspects of the reason behind the deed. In fact, any terrorist act carries indirect messages from its perpetrators to the target societies. In other words, it can be said that any terrorist act is an abrupt undemocratic reaction against democratic and legal practices within a society. MKO’s terrorist deeds that plagued Iran following its defeat in post-revolution political and social fronts each carried coded messages. In fact, MKO’s terrorist acts directly targeted the vote of people rather than being enraged by the leading figures of the regime themselves.

MKO issued no immediate announcement to accept the responsibility of the operation and took no clear position. However, in a telephone interview reflected in some Western newspapers at the time, Massoud Rajavi said that the fatal bombing at the prime minister’s office was carried out “by the legitimate resistance movement”. But his further explanation made it explicit who he meant by the ‘resistance movement’: “I am not informed at this time exactly who planted the bomb, but it was the resistance movement and I do not deny that the Mujahedeen make up the majority of that movement”.

MKO claimed to have committed the crime as a legitimate resistance on behalf of the nation, but there is no record of when and where people voted to recognize the legitimacy of a self-proclaimed resistance that possessed no patience to fit social disobedience. It is common in most democratic countries that struggle for power is conducted through free, democratic elections and no loser engages in aggressive, violent activities to revenge his defeat. Being great losers in political scene, MKO’s terrorist, violent deeds imply that the group in no way respected the democratic principles exercised by people.

The message of the August blast conveys is that MKO never stands for any legitimacy; if MKO were to receive no political recognition to assume power, then, neither could the legitimacy of any election be recognized nor the votes of the very same people whose legitimate right decides for the legitimacy of any power structure. Actually playing no decisive role in Iranian revolution, MKO later came to arrogate the right of the leadership. The flight of Rajavi and Bani-Sadr to France, from where they conducted the terrorist operation of blasting the prime minister’s office in Tehran, approves a fact that they could never distinguish justification from legitimacy, that democracy can never be achieved through violence.

MKO leaders adopt inhuman approaches to use members as human shields

Reportedly, Qayda Kambash, an Iraqi parliamentarian, in her latest comment has remarked that “the reason of delay in expulsion of MKO members from Iraq is due to the pressure put by MKO leaders on the members.” <img alt=""src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/MEK/Ashraf_Iraq/Ashraf_Iraqi_Police_16.jpg"style="width: 300px; height: 211px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>She has further added that “MKO leaders’ fear of devastation of their group has led them to use Ashraf and Liberty residents as human shields to protect their own lives. That is why the group has resorted to lies, deception and suppression of own members.”

Ms. Kambash is not the first to make a comment about the inhuman approach by MKO to use members as human shields. Through any taken opportunity in the past, there has been an attempt by ex-members and other experts to tell the world of the concerns about the members not living but enslaved by MKO against their own will. Of course, the world couldn’t but they could easily see how the terrorist cult was exploiting insiders as human shields to safeguard its own entity rather than being the least concerned about the members themselves. At least through the past two years and since the implementation of decision by the Iraqi government to relocate members from Camp Ashraf, the Rajavies proved to be determined to preserve the insiders as human shields to construct a secure bulwark against a national and global decisiveness.

The transfer of the control of Camp Ashraf to Iraqi forces since 2008 and the Iraqi government’s determination to make a decisive decision about the residents of Ashraf enraged the group’s leaders and soon MKO propaganda machine initiated an intensive campaign against the Iraqi government. MKO’s first reaction was arranging a series of suicidal operations. On July 29, 2009 there was a report of deadly clashes between hundreds of Iraqi police forces and the members of MKO residing in Camp Ashraf that left 11 members dead and scores injured from the both side. While the reasons for the clash was said to be unclear at first, few knew that it was a pre-organized self-destruction plan by a number of Rajavi’s devotees to provoke Iraqi forces to trigger the clash that was well videotaped and broadcasted by the organization itself.

While the Iraqi forces and their commanders were still under the shock of the suicidal and violent behavior of the camp residents, MKO felt easy to feed its propaganda machine for months. Of course, soon the Iraqi authorities, not at first acquainted with the group’s self-destructive tactics, became more cautious to adopt appropriate methods when dealing with MKO. Despite all these efforts, MKO has been focusing on an interlocking violent-political campaign to draw attention of the international community through fraudulent claims and misinformation, most of which are distributed and circulated by the group’s paid or naïve political advocates. By rising tension at the residential camps against the Iraqi plans that are aimed at rightful measures to have more control over the camp, MKO leaders also intend to show a martyred image of the residents to question the legitimacy and capability of the Iraqi government in holding the control of Camp Liberty.

Accommodated with all the means of comfort and luxury in their residences in European countries, leaders claim to be making their best to protect the members in Iraq. But none of them feels any responsibility to explain why the cost of defending MKO is to be paid just by the rank and files. As evidences show, many MKO high-rankings can leave Iraq and reside in another country if necessary. In other words, they are not at all worried about their own future and thus, there is no need to risk their life and line as human shields in protection of the group in Iraq. The best means at hand at the present are the residents at Camp Liberty to be victimized as human-shields to bulwark Rajavi’s cult structure. However, as the international community is misinformed of what is really happening within the camp, comments made by personalities like Ms. Kambash can be trusted as evidences that MKO leaders are determined to use members residing at Camp Liberty as hostages and human shields just for organizational purposes.

The last remaining group of the members, a total of 100, will be forced out sooner or later and leaves the camp in the hands of the local authority in Diyala Province. The province’s administration has unveiled a recent judicial decision by Baghdad courts to empty Camp Ashraf and hand it over to the local administration who have announced on several occasions the intention to turn it into a tourist attraction and a large commercial exchange center between the Kurdistan region of Iraq and Baghdad.

In a latest press conference, Uday AlKhadran, Khalis Mayor, told that an Iraqi court has transferred the authority of the site to the local administration of Khalis which plans to build a mall in there once all MKO terrorists are expelled from the Camp.

“The Camp of New Iraq (Ashraf) still accommodates 100 members of the MKO members, and the rest have already been transferred at the order of the UN to the transient facility in Camp Liberty in Northern Baghdad during the last year in preparation for housing them in other countries”. He further pointed to “the suspicious political activities of Ashraf residents who refused to sell the property of Camp Ashraf in accordance with their earlier agreement with the Iraqi government, despite receiving attractive offers from Iraqi and foreign traders and companies”.

It has to be pointed out that not all the claimed properties and assets in Camp Ashraf have a function of legal and civil purpose and many of the vehicles, instruments and machineries allocated to the group by the ousted dictator belong to Iraqi army and people living in the vicinity. In fact, the group brought nothing when it came to Iraq and all it claims to possess is out of the bundles of dollars Saddam allocated to it from the pocket of the Iraqi people when they needed the sums more than any other time.

Since the fall of Saddam, the Iraqi lawyers have filed complaints on behalf of Iraqi people and particularly by farmers living in Diyala province whose crop lands have been occupied by the group. In fact, the closure of Camp Ashraf was a legal demand by the Iraqi government and the local people, to whom the lands belong. Naturally, MKO as the occupier is reluctant to return what it had seized under the direct order of the ousted Saddam.

The destiny of those having a contact with MKO is tied with scandals

It seems that the destiny of those having a contact with MKO is tied with scandals. Bob Filner, a former congressman and San Diego Mayor, is seeking to survive the sex scandal that is the talk of America’s Finest <img alt="The destiny of those having a contact with MKO is tied with scandals"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Politician/USA/Filner_MKO_L.jpg"style="width: 240px; height: 170px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>City. Three of his friends and longtime supporters went public Thursday with allegations from female staff members that his behavior has been reprehensible. Filner by releasing a video admitted that he has failed “to fully respect the women who work for me” and has at times “intimidated them”.

The story came up just after Filner returned from a trip to Paris where he attended MKO’s yearly meeting at Villepinte. The gathering was described as a meeting of Iranians in support of human rights and democracy, where he could meet with Iranian advocates of greater religious freedom and women’s rights. Filner said it was the third time he attended the annual event and his acceptance of the travel gift was permissible under the law. Filner still has not responded to requests of San Diego City Hall for information about the event and how much he was paid. The only information Filner has imparted is that his flight, meals and lodging were paid by the unnamed 501(c)(3) tied to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which organized the group rally wherein he gave a speech.

In February 2011, Carl Bernstein, a contributing editor at Vanity Fair who also writes periodically for Newsweek, delivered a speech at the grand ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan in return for $12,000 as part of a campaign to challenge the terrorist designation of MKO. Bernstein is one of the few journalists, along with syndicated columnist Clarence Page who was rebuked by his employer for giving a similar speech in Paris last June; he had regularly appeared at MKO’s campaign events to convince the State Department to remove the group from FTO list and the consequent legal sanctions.

Bernstein is the man who discovered The Watergate political scandal in 1972 and played a central role in bringing down Richard Nixon, became the focus of a personal scandal when it was disclosed that he had affairs with Margaret Jay, the daughter of former Prime Minister James Callaghan and the wife of ex-British Ambassador Peter Jay. However, his last scandal of advocacy for the leftist MKO indicates that the passage of the time has contributed to arrive at a new “version of the truth”. In a part of his made speech at the MKO’s marshaled event he said: “I come here as an advocate of the best obtainable version of the truth, and as someone who believes in basic human rights and their inalienable status.”

Such double standards may insult those who truly care about their words and behaviors. But that is the type of freedom, human rights and women’s right that the advocates of MKO have learned to respect.

MKO terrorist cult abuses the power of propaganda to raise public prestige

Nobody can deny the power of propaganda as a relevant and effective tool to convince people to do what the exercisers like them to. But it becomes a much threatening and dangerous approach if abused by a terrorist cult for a sham demonstration of public support or attempts at mobilizing it, particularly after a total fall in the aftermath of a full scale violent and terrorist campaign. That is the approach adopted by MKO, Mujahidin Khalq Organization, after it failed to overthrow the Iranian regime through decades-lasted armed warfare that led to countless deaths from among Iranian people. Now active in Western counties under a pro-democratic disguise, MKO is on a regular move of expensive propaganda campaign to muster support to be cleaned of its flagrant past and to buy a forged prestige. An example is the group’s highly propagated gathering on 22 June in Villepinte, Paris, by hiring big crowds and speakers as supporters and advocates.

These are good historical evidences to prove the simplicity of considering MKO as devotee of freedom and democracy. Discrepancy between chanted mottos and actual practice of democracy is a product of disapproving the democracy itself. To bring off democracy, mottos should tally with practices. MKO’s fierce campaign in the past well depicts the wrong direction that the group had taken for the cause of democracy. How can it claim to be following the principles of democracy when the very same president-elect of the group, Maryam Rajavi, is elected through no social and inter-organizational voting but appointed by her despot husband, Massoud Rajav? The autocratic structure of MKO’s leadership has discredited it to a kind of Stalinist dictatorship. Thus, how can MKO guarantee that it wouldn’t adapt claims of democracy for practice of autocracy?

That is precisely correct to say those who struggle for democracy cannot be terrorists because democracy absolutely discards any form of violence. But violence has been an innately distinguished feature of MKO from its very formation. The key solution to accomplish organizational and ideological achievements was believed to be through practice of violence, the lack of which led any struggle for democracy and freedom to total failure.

The advocates of MKO, particularly those hired for the June gathering, are well aware that the group is at the pass of a critical juncture and in need of applicable instruments and whoever and whatever help and offer to survive. We do not know exactly how much each hired speaker and advocate were paid, but they, for sure, and we know that the great challenge the world faces today is terrorism and MKO has so far failed to prove any commitment to democracy. In representing definitions of democracy, MKO oversteps those of the West. By drilling its exaggeratedly theorized democracy into the West, the group reminds the West that it has a rather more enormous capacity to overshoot the Western adopted democracy. At the same time, it has not the least respect for democracy to practice it, not even in its primitive form, neither for the insiders nor for the outsiders.

Nowhere can you find so ruthless methods of brainwashing put into practice under the cover of democracy as within MKO. The fact is that MKO is innately a terrorist group, regardless of its de-proscription, and its attempts to hold at democracy never wash its hands off its past crimes. Through the power of propaganda, MKO strives to convince the world that it has increased supports as Iran’s legitimate opposition and the sole alternative to the current ruling power in Iran. Facts are stubborn things and MKO, a typical of absolute hypocrisy and duplicity, is on a regular path of endless plots to fool the world.

Neither have we believed MKO struggles for a secular, democratic, and non-nuclear republic in Iran, as it circulates, nor have the claimed advocates any trust for such a capacity in MKO. Even if thousands of supporters, as MKO brags, gather to chant over and over that the group has shifted to democracy and has denounced terrorism, we can believe it only if a leopard can change its spots, as people say. Even worse, the underlying, serious problem is that a terrorist group has transformed into a dangerous cult of personality. And what a horrible nightmare may haunt societies where a terrorist cult abuses the power of propaganda.

MKO grasps at every available opportunity of serious aggression against Iran

Ideologically a violence-oriented group, MKO appreciates any military option against Iran and has kept at <img alt="MKO grasps at every available opportunity of serious aggression against Iran"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/News/Terrorism/No_War_EN.jpg"style="width: 240px; height: 170px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>fuelling anti-Iranian, warmongering propaganda warfare. But the group intensifies the struggle whenever it grasps at every available opportunity that seems a foretaste of serious aggression against Iran by any foreign power antagonizing Iranian regime. MKO calls such a power that adopts or pursues an aggressive approach an ‘alien element’, a most suitable power to depend on and to cooperate with. The ousted Saddam’s regime was the most apt ‘alien element’ at the time that it collaborated with fierce loyalty.

The fall of Saddam advanced Iraq’s political transition and the new government showed no signs of seeking to compromise with other frustrated political factions and mercenary terrorist groups. So MKO had to seek for a new external supporter and ‘alien element’ to form another parasitic alliance. The only elements at the time being and are those countries that are engaged in an ongoing strife over Iran’s nuclear activities and America in particular. The group took the first step to be the main source of intelligence on Iranian nuclear sites and exposing what was believed to be hidden nuclear sites in Iran for alleged military nuclear activities. However, it is said that MKO disclosed the information it had been provided by the United States and Israel. Michael Mukasey, the American advocate of MKO, in providing reasons for removing the group from FTO list stated, “… there are many reasons, including MEK’s close cooperation with the United States in exposing Iran’s nuclear program for removing MEK from that list”.

Since then, Iran has been facing a challenge from America and its Western allies, and Israel as the closest ally; all have been moving on a deadlock negotiation that has further deepened the crisis.

Following a different policy to confront Iran’s nuclear activities, Israel, widely believed to possess an ever-growing nuclear arsenal, has grown impatient with protracted talks and has threatened preemptive war against Iran if it deemed diplomacy ultimately futile. Announcing a full support for Israel, Secretary of State John Kerry has stressed that Obama is determined Iran will not succeed in acquiring a nuclear weapon and noted that his administration is working closely with Israel: “We are deeply engaged with our Israeli allies, friends, comparing on a regular basis. I think we’re on the same page”.

Not only in words but in action is the United States arming and supporting Israel for any possible military option against Iran. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel in his first visit to Israel pushed a new arms deal to help preserve Israel’s military edge in the region saying that the arms deal would be “another very clear signal to Iran” that the United States allies in the region were prepared to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.

No doubt, MKO is the only opposition that supports and beats drums of a military option against Iran and is ready to walk on any front that might take the lead, be it America, Israel, or any Western ally. However, Israel seems a better option for MKO as an ‘alien element’ since the existing differences between Iran and Israel is far beyond the nuclear issue and is rooted in ideological, political and historical arguments. The United States in contrast has shown eagerness in reaching an agreement through negotiations. Israel, however, risks a loss of credibility over both its “red line” for Iran’s nuclear program and its threat of military action, and its room for unilateral maneuver is shrinking. Patrick Clawson, the head of the Iran Security Initiative at The Washington Institute, in his political analysis entitled Preventing an Iranian Nuclear Breakout states: “The United States and Israel agree that Iran should not have nuclear weapons, but they may not see eye-to-eye about how to proceed regarding the impasse with Iran. High-profile disagreements surfaced in September 2012 about setting a “redline,” or deadline, for termination of Iran’s program …”

MKO hopes that the old allies develop a unanimous consensus over the military option against Iranian regime. It would make both allies a perfect united ‘alien element’ for a total dependence. What MKO has achieved so far has been an unfortunate outcome; its desperate struggle to achieve the reproachful, anti-national and ambitious goal has brought the group into disrepute among all struggling oppositions. It is not amazing to see MKO, sticking to what is regarded a flagrant example of national betrayal, namely demonizing Iran’s peaceful nuclear activity, spending lavishly to be accepted by any ‘alien element’ that might move on a decisive path of materializing consequent threats.

MKO fabricates to stop any final solution for resettlement out of Iraq (aka Mojahedin Khalq MEK Rajavi cult)

When Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, made the humanitarian offer to take about 210 members of MKO residing in a transit camp near Baghdad, many began to consider it a promising sign that could be the beginning of an end to the residents’ sufferings and torments and a miraculous escape from the thralldom of the Rajavis cult. It could be the beginning to promote cooperation of other countries and to pave the way to take more refugees. Alas! No soon had it been announced than was rejected by the Rajavies. In an attempt to provide compelling justification, the group announced it could not accept an offer of asylum for only a small portion of the group. A direct rejection would seem more acceptable than such flimsy excuse as such a transfer is more a mirage than near to reality. The rejection well indicates that MKO never aims to leave Iraq nor is looking for a final solution for resettlement of the members long enslaved physically and psychologically. It seems more a tactic to buy time to impede the gradual dissociation of the organization.

Taken as a typical of MKO, the group did not hesitate to put the blame of a deliberate rejection on others. In a statement issued by MKO in March under ‘Martin Kobler’s disgraceful lies in Security Council’, MKO accused Martin Kobler of deflecting attentions from the main issue, the security of the residents to say, and brazenly claimed to have been the first to come up with the transfer of its members to Albania more than a year ago:

“Kobler misused the humanitarian act of the Albanian government in accepting 210 of the residents for his own propaganda purposes in order to avoid the urgent security crisis and to divert attention from his own destructive role in forcefully evicting the residents and transferring them from Ashraf to the Liberty killing field. This is while the issue of residents’ transfer to Albania has been on the table for more than a year, and the government of Albania had agreed on the transfer of 210 residents in November 2012. At that time, the residents gave the government, the UNHCR and the United States a number 1 priority list of patients and residents who should be transferred first, and have been waiting and are still waiting for their rapid transfer. On March 21, on yet another occasion, the residents’ representative sent the same number 1 priority list to the UNHCR for transfer to Albania. In January, envoys of the Iranian resistance met with senior officials of Albania in Tirana, accepted all the expenses and urged their government to increase the number of residents going to Albania.”

However, it did not take long to see MKO’s lies being exposed. After ending his trip to Iraq, the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, made remarks concerning the outright refusal of MKO to accept the offer of resettlement in Albania:

“We had worked out an arrangement with the Albanians to take about 250 people, but then the people in the camp themselves declined to go. So we’re trapped in a kind of round robin.”

However, MKO waged a total media blackout on such disclosures when covering John Kerry’s trip. MKO’s duplicitous behavior is not unknown to those familiar with the rooted hypocrisy in the group. The conduction of disinformation campaign, even if it works on the insiders, undermines public trust in its truthfulness of claiming a democratic resistance. Although it has abused freedom, democracy and its insiders’ devotion for a total organizational hegemony, it will have no other way but to submit under a universal pressure and when it feels it has failed to shape public opinion in its own favor.

The suffering, enslaved insiders of MKO and their families always the frontline victims

Why are the human rights abuses taking place inside Mojahedin Khalq (Rajavi cult) not being investigated?<img alt="The suffering, enslaved insiders of MKO and their families always the frontline victims"src="https://st.nejatngo.org/Image/Gatherings/Iraq_201112/Iraq_20111227/Iraq_Ashraf_Families_21.jpg"style="width: 200px; height: 301px; margin: 10px; float: right;"/>

According to the reports, nearly 20 rockets hit Camp Liberty early in the morning[April 30,2013]

According to the reports, nearly 20 rockets hit Camp Liberty, the temporary residence for MKO members near Baghdad, early in the morning. There are no reports of casualties and no one has yet claimed the responsibility for the incident. A considerable number of rockets are said to have hit the water canals at the southern part of the camp. It is the second rocket attack since February 9 in which seven MKO members were killed and 50 others injured. A number of Iraqi policemen were also injured in the attack.

In a statement, as it was expected, MKO accused the Iraqi government and Martin Kobler, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, of keeping the residents intentionally unprotected. The group’s leader, Maryam Rajavi asked for an immediate return of the residents to their previous location, Camp Ashraf.

The attack itself is condemned as a crime against humanity regardless of whoever the attackers might be. But the fact is that MKO is the side that best benefits from the attacks since the leaders are not at all looking for the responsible to accuse; it makes no difference for the Rajavies who is sacrificed from which side; the emphasis is on the applied brutality to claim victims. And for the time being the more victims and bloodshed the faster towards a cultic press to return to Ashraf.

The suffering, enslaved insiders of MKO have always been the frontline victims and their families, pressing effortlessly to rescue them, have repeatedly declared that Iraq is not a safe place for their children and relatives to stay. From the very day the first group of members arrived at Liberty, the leaders began a widespread campaign to stop the process of relocation. However, they failed. Now they are making excuses, urging and plotting to be returned to Ashraf. And any threat in any form provides a golden opportunity the leaders have been looking for.
