Members of the notorious Mujahedin Khalq Organization have been arrested in France and Switzerland on charges of money laundering. Ten people close to the MKO / PMOI were in police custody on Monday on both sides of the border, Reuters reported without citing any sources.
Iraq’s ambassador to Iran says so far no country in the world has agreed to shelter the dissident members of the US-backed Mujahedin Khalq (MKO) terrorist group.According to International Law, the outlawed Mujahedin Khalq Organization or the so called PMOI should be handed over to any country which is prepared to harbor its members…no government has so far expressed willingness to admit the group into their country, al-Sheikh added
A delegation from Nejat Society in Iran is in Geneva this week to participate in sessions of the United Nations Human Rights Council and to meet with delegations from other international human rights organizations….Nejat Society wants every individual person in Camp Ashraf to be given the opportunity to decide for themselves – without pressure or interference from MKO / PMOI personnel – whether they want to continue wearing military uniform, or whether they want to take off their military uniform and renounce violence.
A delegation from Nejat Society traveled to Geneva to participate the meeting of United Nations Human Rights Council and to visit the delegation from other international human rights organizations in order to prevent the political abuse of the remaining captives in Camp Ashraf…They made the officials aware of the threats that exist for the captured members in the cult..
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nassar Habashneh has affirmed that there was no change in Amman’s position towards the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization or the so called PMOI….participation of some of the Jordanians in MKO’s conferences”comes on an individual basis”and”does not reflect Jordan’s official position.”
The US military has transferred the senior members of terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization from Ashraf camp north of the Iraqi capital as it handed over the camp to Iraqi forces, an Iraqi Foreign Ministry source said. .The Iraqi army replaced American troops in taking control of Ashraf camp a few days ago.

The Shiite-dominated Iraqi Interior Ministry announced September 1 that members of the Iranian opposition group Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MeK) or the so called PMOI had six months to leave Camp Ashraf, the U.S. camp in Iraq where approximately 3,360 members of the group are currently being held. The Saudi daily al Riyadh reported September 3 that the United States and Iran had agreed to hand over members of the MeK (also known as the People’s Mujahideen Organization of Iran) to Iraqi authorities.
The British government still considers that the MKO / PMOI is a terrorist group despite being recently removed from the UK’s proscribed organizations, according to Justice Secretary Jack Straw.
