Khodabandeh outlines Mojahedin Khalq (Rajavi cult,MKO, MEK) history with George Galloway MP

TEHRAN (FNA) – Families and relatives of the members of the anti-Iran armed opposition group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), staged a rally in
front of the British embassy in Tehran on Monday to voice strong protest against the removal of the group from the list of terrorist organizations by London. (2008/07/28)
In a meeting with secretary general of Habilian Association(Representatives of 16000 terror victims in Iran), a group of Falujah political figures and newsmen as well as the heads of different Iraqi tribes called for the expulsion of MKO terrorist group from their Country. In this meeting initiated with Seyyed Muhammad Javad Hashemi Nejad’s appreciating his guests’ arrival in the holy city of Mashhad, secretary general of Habilian Association said: The two nations of Iran and Iraq are today on each others sides while having many things in common to talk about ,regardless of what has happened to us during past 30 years. We are now supposed to struggle for each others prosperity. Taking a look at the history of the two nations we would realize that dividing them is no way possible. Iran and Iraq are the cradle of civilization. The region we are in is the one the whole world has eyes for it and no one can turn a blind eye on it.

Our countries are in a region overflowing with oil resources and our enemies’ cravings for it elevate day by day. Islam’s heart beats only in Iran and Iraq and all conspiracies have targeted these two countries. There are many ties between us and we have many things in common. But the enemies won’t like friendship and peace to rule between us. This is because of our standing on an enormous resource of wealth and also our ability to stand on our own feet independently. So the colonizers have put their backs into getting into the region and make the most out via obliterating the two nations. To do this they have to enter the region directly or through applying some penetrating elements to follow their wicked ambitions. They have long tried to spread disunion among the two nations through former governments in Iraq and Iran. On one hand Shah of Iran insisted on being of a superior race of Persian and on the other hand Saddam Hussein who knew Arabs to be of superiority. But as far as they didn’t succeed in separating the two nations, the colonizers began to support terrorist groups to make the region destabilized. One of these terrorist groups which is now based for over two decades in Iraq is MKO terrorist group. They have so far assassinated over 16000 Iranian civilians as well as officials in Iran but as far as they didn’t satisfy America’s desire, the great Satan decided to arrive in the Islamic world in person.

Indisputable is that our enemies’ conspiracies to keep the two nations of Iran and Iraq apart from each other has fallen flat. But we have to be aware not to make any mistakes in current crucial situation.

Right now the Bush administration has adopted the policy of Divide and Rule in the region. To do this they have set up and support terrorist groups like MKO which has during last two decades committed several crimes in your country. America was the first country to recognize MKO as terrorist but the question is why America supports this terrorist group and why America insists, against Iraq’s constitution law, to keep this group in Iraq. Isn’t it because it needs the dividing role of this group? Taking a brief look at their website, you would undoubtedly realize that they are either trying to persuade America to attack Iran or to cause disunion between the two nations. Today America is well aware that loosing the region would result in its loosing the whole Middle East. But their presence in the region has resulted in the death of over one million Iraqis so far.

After that Jasem Albadivi (Former governor of Falujah) also said: today we have come from the exploited city of Falujah to tell the Iran’s authorities and people that we don’t support terrorist rebels. We have come to reveal the truth to you about the damages we have received from terrorists. Nowadays we have to forget about all the crimes the former corrupt dictators committed to us and to step into the way towards unity and unanimity. All Iraqis are well aware of the terrorist nature of MKO and as the representatives of Alanbar province we want the Iraqi government to respect the rightful demands of Iraqi people and to adopt more determined measures in deporting them from Iraq.

Then Hashemi Nejad stated: The issue of weapons of mass destruction posed by Americans was merely a pretext to attack Iraq. Americans invaded your country without the permission of the security council of the United Nations. In fact it was not a war on terror or the war for democracy; it was a war for oil. We know that America would accept us only when we are dependent to it. This is why America has always opposed our peaceful nuclear program, though we have never violated any international laws, while accusing us baselessly of being involved in producing WMD. This is at the same time they support terrorist groups in the region. They support MKO terrorist who killed over 16000 innocent people in Iran and about the same number in Iraq and are disliked by the people of both nations.
Another speaker to the meeting was Tariq Al Ma’amouri (editor in chief of Albelad Alyoum newspaper). Who said: The existence and improvement of terrorist groups in Iraq is a result of military occupation of Iraq. It also resulted in annihilation of Iraq’s military, judicial and administrative as well as lawmaking systems. But in spite of all these issues the media are active in Iraq, although the ones tied to America and terrorist groups try to abuse and exaggerate the current discrepancies between Shiites and Sunnis. One of the issues they are still propagating about and try to threaten Arabs with is Iran’s nuclear energy. It was Saddam who invited MKO terrorists to Iraq not the people. The governing council of Iraq called them in a statement as terrorist soon after the fall of Saddam. From then on all Iraqis have condemned the presence of this terrorist group in Iraq.
Hashemi Nejad also said in the meeting: Thank you for the way you explained the common concerns of the two nations. We have very good relations with Iraqi people and officials. About MKO I should also say we are well aware of their crimes in Iraq and believe that they would soon pay for it.
Doctor Valid Alaraji (member of falujah Sheikhs council) was another speaker in the meeting. He said: As my friends mentioned Saddam Hussein granted asylum to PKK and MKO and supported them. These two terrorist groups have invaded our country and we demand for their total expulsion from Iraq. We are on to hold enlightening sessions in Iraq about the terrorist entity of MKO based on the document you give us.
At the end Muhammad Javad hashemi Nejad added: The phenomenon of terrorism is a western product for exploiting the third world countries. America has full access to PKK and can easily ban their activities but not only doesn’t do that but also supports them while accusing us of supporting terrorism. At the end I wish for a day Iraqi people would live in a free Iraq in peace.
Iranian widow must go to trial in NY on terror charge
NEW YORK (AP) – A naturalized U.S. citizen must face trial on a charge of providing material support to an Iranian terrorist organization she’s accused of helping to lead, a federal judge ruled Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan denied a defense motion to dismiss the case against Zeinab Taleb-Jedi, who was arrested in 2006 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Defense attorneys have labeled the prosecution "outrageous" and argued it violated Taleb-Jedi’s civil rights.
They said that the Iranian-born widow was never involved in violence and that the group, the People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran, also known as the Mujahedeen Khalq, has won the backing of some U.S. military officers and politicians because it advocates the overthrow of the Iranian government.
The judge, saying foreign relations "during a time of war are not black and white," wrote: "There is nothing outrageous about giving military support to certain elements of the PMOI while at the same time prosecuting an allegedly high-ranking member for violating the material support statute."
The judge, however, cautioned that "if the proof at trial shows only that the defendant participated in the PMOI through mere membership and chanting at meetings, it may well be insufficient to reach a jury or sustain a guilty verdict."
The People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran was designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State in 1997. Prosecutors say Taleb-Jedi, 52, became an English teacher in 1999 at the organization’s Iraq headquarters, Camp Ashraf.
She became a U.S. citizen in 1996. In 1997, she learned that her husband died in a bus bombing on the road between Camp Ashraf and Baghdad.
During the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2004, U.S. soldiers seized tanks, anti-aircraft weapons, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and more than 420,000 pounds of plastic explosives at the camp. Prosecutors allege that Taleb-Jedi told FBI agents at the time she "wholeheartedly" supported the group and that two informants have since identified her as a member of a leadership council.
Taleb-Jedi’s lawyer predicted the allegations won’t hold up at trial in Brooklyn.
"Real questions remain about what the government says Ms. Taleb-Jedi actually did, and we look forward to a jury hearing the whole story," attorney Justine Harris said.
"Once the evidence is presented at trial, we will all have to revisit the very serious constitutional issues at stake."
Prosecutors did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment Thursday.
If convicted, Taleb-Jedi faces up to 15 years in prison.

Sky News airs Mojahedin Khalq Terrorists show after lifting ban
An MKO member has criticized the Islamic Republic in a televised interview in a first move since the reversal of the UK ban on the group.
Azam Mollahassani Majdabadi Farahani Kohneh alias Leila Jazayeri appeared in a live program on Sky News television Sunday and severely took to task the Iranian government.
She accused Iran of violating human rights and meddling in the internal affairs of its neighbors.
This has been the first appearance of a member of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) since a British court ruling ordered the reversal of the UK ban on the organization.
The MKO is listed as a terrorist group by much of the international community, including the US. The group has claimed responsibility for numerous terror attacks against Iranian officials and civilians.
During the program, Jazayeri claimed the Iranian government executes and stones people on a daily basis.
She also said the country’s economy has collapsed, alleging that nearly 85 percent of the Iranian people live below the poverty line and demand a regime change.
The MKO member called on Western governments, in particular Britain, to support the overthrow of the Iranian government by Mariam Rajavi, a leader of the outlaw group.
Leila Jazayeri has been involved in several violent acts against the disaffected MKO members.
She has also disrupted several meetings wherein participants were believed to be critics of MKO policies. She is known to have several criminal court records in European countries for assault and injury, fraud and other charges.

The European Union has declared that it will keep the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MEK) on the list of outlawed terrorist groups.
The EU officials have declared that the decision to keep the MEK on the list of the terrorist groups is not related to the Western efforts to persuade Iran to halt its nuclear enrichment program, Reuters reported.
EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana will meet Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in Geneva on Saturday to discuss Tehran’s response to an incentives package proposed by world powers to Tehran.
The British Parliament last month upheld a court ruling that the inclusion of the MEK on a list of banned groups in Britain was wrong.
The group then called on the 27-member EU to remove it from the blacklist.
The EU has declared that it sees no grounds to amend the list of terrorist organization which includes 48 groups subject to asset freeze and sanctions in the EU.
“Consequently, the Council has decided to maintain those persons, groups and entities on the list,” the EU Official Journal said.
The MEK or MKO has so far claimed responsibility for several terrorist attacks inside Iran.
It is also accused of helping former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in massacre of civilians.

Arrest Warrant for MKO leaders in Iraq
IRIB (translation by Irandidban)
Iraqi government spokesman reported of issuance of arrest warrants for some MEK leaders in his country.
According to Al-Jazeera News Channel, Ali Al-Dabbagh said the arrest warrants were issued because of the interference of MEK leaders in Iraqi affairs and also threatening Iraqi officials by phone.
Speaking in a press conference, he added: “Iraq doesn’t want to expel the MEK members by force; however, their presence in Iraq is against the constitution.”
“The organization has committed many crimes, identified and announced by Iraqi security services.”
“We don’t want to expel them by force, but we try to find another country to transfer them to with agreement,” he said.
Nowhere for MKO in Iraq
Mehr News Agency (translated by Irandidban)
Emphasizing the fact that terrorist MKO’s presence in Iraq is unacceptable, the head of Iraq Unity Coalition said that the group’s activities in Iraq are illegal.
According to Mehr News, quoting Aswat Al-Iraq website, Seyed Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, speaking at a gathering commemorating the martyrdom of Seyed Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim, invited all Iraqis to participate in the elections for Provinces’ Councils and added: “This terrorist group is in Iraq without having legal and international reasons”.
Accusing the group of cooperation with the former Ba’th regime in killing Iraqis, Hakim said: “The group tries to ignite ethnic differences in Iraq and has declared its hostility toward the elected Parliament and government.”
“Iraqi constitution stresses that the country should not become a base for enemies. There’s no doubt that the requirements of Constitution and government are aimed at independence and sovereignty of the country.”
During 80s, Terrorist MKO chose Camp Ashraf in Diali province as its base and cooperated with former Iraqi regime during imposed war against Iran.
Iraqi government, reviewing the presence of this terrorist group in Iraq and its interferences in its internal affairs, made decisions against it.
An Iraqi MP, referring to Iraqi government’s decisions to expel the group, stressed that all Iraqi officials and agencies agree with these decisions.
MKO’s Presence Violated Iraq’s Sovereignty
Fars News Agency
Najaf’s Friday prayer leader said the presence of MEK in Iraq violated the sovereignty of this country.
According to Buratha News website, Sadr al-Din Ghabanchi, Friday prayer leader of Najaf in Iraq, pointed to the cooperation of terrorist MEK with Saddam’s security and intelligence services and in suppressing Iraqi people’s uprising (particularly in 1991) and said: “MEK is under the U.S. protection in Iraq and this violates Iraqi sovereignty.”
Secret Friendship with Terrorists
Mehr News
According to a British newspaper, Pentagon and U.S. agencies have been frequently in touch with MKO and a special unit, created by Bush to destabilize Iran, is cooperating with it.
According to [The] Independent, this terrorist group enraged the Iraqi government by staging a conference last month at Camp Ashraf, north-east of Baghdad.
"It was a huge meeting" said Dr Othman. "All the tribes and political leaders who are against Iran, but are also against the Iraqi government, were there." He said the anti-Iranian meeting could not have taken place without US permission.
In reaction to the conference, the Iraqi government, the US and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have started secret talks on the future of the MEK with the Iraqi government pressing for their expulsion from Iraq.
Dr Othman, who speaks to the MEK frequently by phone, said: "I pressed them to get out of Iraq voluntarily because they are a card in the hands of the Americans."
Iraq will be plunged into a new war if Israel or the US launches an attack on Iran, Iraqi leaders have warned. Iranian retaliation would take place in Iraq, said Dr Mahmoud Othman, the influential Iraqi MP.
Terrorist MKO settled in Camp Ashraf in Diali province since 80s and cooperated with Iraqi government during imposed war against Iran.
Iraqi government has discussed the presence of the group in Iraq, making decisions in 6 articles against them.
An Iraqi MP, referring to the government’s decision to expel the MKO, stressed that all Iraqi officials are unanimous on the issue. Seyed Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, the head of SCIRI, also called the presence of the group in Iraq illegal and asked for immediate expulsion of this terrorist group from Iraq.
On Saturday, they gathered to call on the European Union and the United States to remove what they called unjust terrorist label from MKO immediately. Yes, they want it, or rather order, to be soon and immediately. It is typical of Mojahedin-e Khalq that they become bolder and want more if being granted, not gaining as it might be their right, something that changes nothing in general.
They have also some supporters in the Congress who have been calling for the US to back terror groups in Iran. There are reports that indicate that this program has already been in place for years. It was nearly two months ago that Ret. Gen. Thomas McInerney in a Fox News appearance publicly called for the US government to support groups like MKO (Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization), which is listed by the State Department as a terrorist organization, and carry out deadly bombings in Iran. He already knew about the true nature and terrorist potentialities of MKO as know the EU member governments, including the UK.
But, the UK government still considers MKO a terrorist group, in spite of being defeated in a long court battle, as does the US. In the State Department’s issued Daily Press Briefing on June 30, Tom Casey, Deputy Spokesman, reiterated that the US government’s policy is not to engage in any contacts with terrorist groups like MKO:
QUESTION: Just to follow up on the same story. (Inaudible) also outlines that the U.S. had – may encourage or had some contacts with some of the dissident groups, including Mujahedin-e Khalq and the PJAK. Can you formulate a comment on this?
MR. CASEY: Including, sorry, which groups?
QUESTION: The PJAK, which is an extension of the PKK and the Mujahedin-e Khalq.
MR. CASEY: Yeah. Well, you know, our policy is not to engage or have discussions or contacts with terrorist groups. The MEK is a terrorist group, and certainly we don’t – aren’t engaged in any kinds of conversations or discussions with them.

The terrorist disaster of the 11th of September 2001 with no doubt severely shocked the world. This catastrophe certainly became the globe’s deep sorrow at the time. Almost every country and every organisation in the world, regardless of the state of their relationship with the USA, strongly condemned the act. But wouldn’t be astonishing to learn that there was a group which actually celebrated the most brutal terrorist operation in the contemporary history?
“Bagherzadeh”was one the bases of the Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organisation (MKO) in Iraq before the fall of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. This base was normally used for the group gatherings of the MKO members in Iraq – otherwise knows as the National Liberation Army (NLA). The time to time sessions which always had ideological themes were usually held with the presence of the co-leaders of the organisation Mas’ud and Maryam Rajavi. The members used to get together from different bases in Iraq for one week or more to listen to the teachings of the leaders.
When the 11th of September 2001 catastrophe occurred, about 2000 people were assembled in Bagherzadeh Base to attend the general meeting of the NLA and to receive the speeches delivered by the Rajavis. At the very day the loudspeakers throughout the base called everyone to meet in the main hall to become aware of very important and crucial news. After a good number of people were gathered, a video clip containing the news was shown from the widescreens. The news was about how the twin towers were blown up by some fanatic extremist so called Moslems. The video clip was shown over and over for several times and each time it received jubilations from the members and officials of the MKO. The officials were encouraging the others to dance and be cheerful.
The following day a meeting was arranged for Mas’ud and Maryam Rajavi to deliver their speeches to the members and officials. The same clips were shown several times again and each time it received the same jubilations. Mas’ud started speaking about the terrorist incident. He did not condemn the act at all and even virtually accepted that it was an anti-imperialistic move. He claimed that his group is far more superior to the Al-Qaeda and”if they could do such a sophisticated military operation we must be able to do so in a much better manner”. He called the operation the consequence of the US policy and also the exhibition of the power of the ideology of Islam! He declared that”wait and see the fruits of our revolutionary Islam!”
Maryam started her speech next. She clearly stated that the terrorist disaster is to the advantage of the MKO since it draws the attention of the US administration to Afghanistan and at least for a while they would forget about Iraq and Saddam Hussein. She then related the suicide bombing to the Islamic theology and claimed that only this sort of ideology could carry out that sort of complicated task.
Many MKO members who were present in that meeting have bared witness about that day and about that meeting after they left the group. When the US Forces occupied the Ashraf base “ the main base of the MKO in Iraq “ they interviewed many former members and they all explained the same story which was mentioned above. Although the US State Department has called the organisation a foreign terrorist group as well as a personality cult in its annual report, but unfortunately the report has deliberately failed to mention this mere fact that they practically hailed the 11th of September terrorist occurrence.
Some of ex-members emphasised that just before the US Forced occupied the Ashraf Camp, the MKO authorities destroyed a lot of tapes, discs and documents including the shots taken from the meeting mentioned above.
It should also be noted that since the incident of 11th of September up to now, the MKO has not by any means officially condemned this terrorist act and other military operations done by the Al-Qaeda in Europe. This in fact is despite the reality that the organisation continuously emphasises on the necessity of countering terrorism and in this manner even calls the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) the godfather of terrorism. The fact that the MKO has totally focused its antiterrorism propaganda on IRI and stays completely silent about the 11th of September terrorist act as the obvious symbol of international terrorism proves that the issue of countering terrorism is only considered by the leaders of the MKO as a useful tool and they do not basically reject it.
The Bulletin indicates the mortar attacks and bombings of Iranian cities resulted in the injury a of innocent civilians and damage to their property. MKO claimed the responsibility for those operations by issuing press releases following the incidents.
This bulletin as an illustrated, documentary evidence of MKO atrocities, works well to illuminate facts on the terrorist nature of MKO and the cause for its proscription as a terrorist organization.
