Speaking in an interview with the Habilian Association, Dr. Karen Kwiatkowski said MKO is a group "dependent on outside money," adding that the too much outside support for the group indicates its "neoconservative agenda, a long-term program to interfere with and topple the political leadership and possibly the entire system in Iran".

"Maryam (Rajavi) has led the MKO since 1993, and it appears she inherited the position from her husband," Kwiatkowski, a former USAF colonel, said.

"That doesn’t sound very democratic, and I suspect that Rajavi knows little about, and cares little about, democracy."

Asked about Canada’s latest move to delist the MKO as a terrorist organization, Kwiatkowski said, "I’m sure Canadian politicians are as venal as the ones we have in the United States."

"There is a strong and growing tendency for both Canada and Mexican government to fall in line with Washington," she added.

"I am personally disgusted by the many years of political support for the MKO by neoconservative elements among the US political class," Kwiatkowski added, calling the US shifts regarding the group as one of several ongoing "means of war and provocation" against Iran.

She went on to say that the too much outside support for the terrorist MKO "indicates alternative agendas," which in this case, would be "a neoconservative agenda, a long-term program to interfere with and topple the political leadership and possibly the entire system in Iran".

Regarding the MKO’s request to be recognized by France and other European countries, Dr. Kwiatkowski pointed out that the desire of anyone or any organization today for recognition by the militaristic US empire-mongers, i.e. the neoconservative wing of the Washington political class, indicates a flawed concept of both democratic change and a certain weakness in the movement, in this case, the anti-Assad movement.

Nejat Society Statement on Canadian Decision to Delist the MKO

The recent act Canadian Government to delist the Mujahedin Khalq Organization seemed disturbing to us, members of Nejat Society, although it was not a surprise, regarding the earlier removal of the group from the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations of the US State Department in September. Nejat Society works hard to help release friends and families who are held as prisoners by the MKO.

Once the MKO is delisted, what about the blood of thousands of people assassinated and tortured by the group? The recent decision sounds like a political signal to Islamic Republic of Iran, rather than an action to protect democracy and human rights. Thus, you can also recognize Saddam Hussein, Muammar Qaddafi and other brutal dictators as peace activists and human rights defenders! The MKO cooperated with Saddam Hussein in the suppression of Kurds and Shiites uprisings in the 1990’s, according to various reports including the famous RAND report 2009.

We truly wonder how an undemocratic violent cult of personality – see Elizabeth Rubin’s the “Cult of Rajavi”, 2003 – can be excluded from legal actions that outlaws a terror listed group or entity. Has the MKO really changed or the recent decisions are just a sign of change in Canadian politics?

The move by Canadian government came soon after Secretary Clinton’s decision to delist the MKO. The MKO was delisted in the United States following a large scale propaganda campaign that was led by a number of well-paid US prominent figures. The MKO’s multi-million dollar campaign ended with its designation as a “good terrorist”! The DOS might hope to use the group as pressure lever against IRI in the midst of nuclear complications with Iran and along with widespread sanctions against the country.

The MKO is no democratic based on numerous testimonies. “The MKO former members reported abuses ranging from detention and persecution of ordinary members wishing to leave the organization, to lengthy solitary confinements, severe beatings, and torture of dissident members,” reads HRW report on the MKO.

As former members of the MKO, we urge on pursuing various cases of suicide, assassination and sexual abuse in the Cult of Rajavi (MKO/MEK).It was just a month ago that a number of ex-members of the group revealed new secrets about sexual abuse, hysterectomy surgery and violation of women’s rights committed in the group. The disappeared leader of the MKO, Massoud Rajavi sent a message of congratulations to those women whose wombs were removed saying:”You’re liberated from sexuality” (!)

This is an absolutely significant sign of violation of human rights, particularly women’s rights to firstly force them to divorce their spouses, then separate them from their children, make them give their last sign of motherhood to the leader by removal of their wombs and ultimately to be sexually abused by him. Regarding such facts on the internal mysteries of the cult of Rajavi and many other evidences on the cult-like an terrorist substance of the group, we state our protest against the recent decision the government of Canada made to allow the cult to act freely in its territory. Western states should be responsive to public opinion.

“Truly known to be one of the most misinterpreted and misused words, terrorism is defined and refined by the West according to the context where it proves deleterious or beneficial to those who define the term,” Ismail Salami wrote in an article published by Press TV.

The MKO was taken off the State Department’s blacklist on September 28.

The MKO fled to Iraq in 1986, where it enjoyed the support of Iraq’s executed dictator Saddam Hussein, and set up its camp near the Iranian border.

Out of the 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist attacks since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, 12,000 of them have fallen victim to the acts of terror carried out by the MKO.

Salami added that the US State Department cited the group’s lack of involvement in terrorist acts for a decade while solid evidence suggests that they have been complicit in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists in the last few years in Iran.

Referring to the establishment of al-Qaeda by the US and CIA in the seventies in an attempt to counter the influence of the former Soviet Union, Salami said the terrorist group is “sowing seeds of blind extremism and religious sectarianism in the world.”

“This CIA-created Frankenstein’s monster has not changed for the better but has grown up monstrously,” the Iranian academic said.

Salami stated that dichotomization of ‘terrorists’ into good and bad is far uglier than any form of apartheid, though “a comparatively similar story is being repeated in Syria.”

The analyst noted that while supporting most terrorist groups in Syria, Washington has branded the Qatar-funded Al-Nusra Front as a terrorist organization because the group to a large extent flies in the face of Washington’s policies in Syria.

“Terrorism is terrorism and it cannot be defined otherwise unless the interests of one party tilt the scale in disfavor of another and the dichotomization of the terrorists in Syria into good and bad by the West casts doubt on its claim on democracy,” Salami concluded.

We regretted the presence of Mrs Maryam Rajavi, leader of the People’s Mojahedin Khalq Organization, in the French National Assembly on Wednesday 4th December, 2012, a person whose hands are smeared with the blood of the best people of our motherland, Iran. Unfortunately, some of the Mojahedin’s lobbyists, who are representatives of the French people, have been deceived by Maryam Rajavi’s lies and they invited her to the French National Assembly.

Mr President

When Mrs Maryam Rajavi speaks about human rights, you should know that there are 3200 MEK members who have been held captive in Iraq in Camp Liberty on her direct order. Of this total more than half are willing to return to their normal life, if allowed their freedom. Currently, members who show any hint of dissent and those who want to separate from the MEK will be severely and brutally beaten on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. Since these people have been relocated to Camp Liberty, more than 50 of them have succeeded in escaping and have rescued themselves from that camp. The obstacles and obstructions which the MEK has created, has resulted in failure of their refugee process in Iraq. The representative of your honorable country in the United Nations and the Security Council’s sessions have witnessed that Mr Martin Kobler, the UN’s special envoy, has complained many times at the lack of MEK cooperation in solving this humanitarian matter. On the other hand, for more than two years the families of MEK members have been asking for a one or two hour meeting with their loved ones. They have established a sit-in in front of the camp, but unfortunately they have been denied meeting with their loved ones on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi.

Mr President,

In the French National Assembly, which is the symbol of French democracy and human rights, Mrs Maryam Rajavi speaks about human rights while dissidents inside the MEK are being killed on the direct order of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. In this regard, I can mention the names of women such as Mehry Moussavi, Minoo Fathali, Marjan Akbarian, Zahra Faizbakhsh, Homa Bashardoost, Allan Mohammadi, and others and men such as Saeed Kiani, Kiomarz Barforosh, Alinaghi Hadad, and others. In this regard my friends and I who have witnessed these crimes, are ready to testify in any court of law. The MEK, which has not gained power in Iran, massacres its own members. Any Iranian opposition group or organization which wants to criticize the MEK will be faced with bullying aggression and intimidation tactics by the MEK and suffer character assassination; and they will receive death threats from the MEK. None of the Iranian opposition groups which reside in Europe and the USA cooperate with them because of their cultic and violent behavior. The National Council of Resistance, the MEK’s public political face, which comprises MEK commanders and operatives, does not have any popularity among Iranian people. Now, Mrs Maryam Rajavi with this kind of background and record, requests the same kind of recognition and accreditation as the Syrian opposition from the French government!

We former MEK members, with 20-30 years of living in the MEK, who were able to rescue ourselves from the MEK after the downfall of Saddam Hussein and who are currently living in France, would like to alert you to the facts of this situation.

US administration: pro MKO or pro Iranians

It doesn’t matter whether we believe that the MKO has renounced violence (although we don’t The MKO is now hoping to set up to play the role Ahmad Chalabi believe it at all); the US administration doesn’t believe it, at least for the time being. Recent acts by the US administration have somewhat dismantled the mask that the government actually cares about the Iranian people. Once upon a time the US was at least pretending that it was caring for people of Iran.

The removal of the MKO cult from the list clearly indicates Washington’s increasing animosity against the Iranians. Although the brutal substance of the MKO have been described several times in various reports – including RAND report 2009, HRW 2005 – and once they were financially and militarily sponsored by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the US officials gave credit to the group by delisting it. Undeniably, the MKO is highly despised by the majority of the Iranian people. Thus, it is very disturbing for them to observe the US supporting a group that has the blood of a large number – at least 12 thousands victims, according to Habilian Website – of their country fellow men in its hands.

The US risks its reputation at stake by supporting the MKO. But is it really worth that?
The MKO is now hoping to set up to play the role Ahmad Chalabi played in the days preceding to the American led invasion to Iraq. The so-called intelligence they published about the Iranian nuclear program has earned some approval among Western officials for them.

The Vancouver Sun journalist, Jonathan Manthrope suggests, “it seems unlikely that the Obama administration would fall for the same kind of blarney from the somewhat sinister husband and wife team of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi ,who, if several US government reports are to be believed, run MEK[the MKO] as a personality cult complete with brainwashing, brutal internal discipline, and the indoctrination of children.”[1]

The ultimate objective of US warmongers politicians such as Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs sub-Committee is to support and use Iranian oppositions and separatists to destabilize the Iranian government. Rohrabacher who welcomed the MKO’s delisting by the State Department, is pushing the US government to embrace the MKO as the “legitimate opposition” to the Iranian government.[2] it seems that they are willing to turn the MKO to a “Syrian National Council” type opposition and eventually to use them to launch terrorist acts against Iranian people. This is exactly what Maryam Rajavi is looking for. Her so called resistance movement seeks “Syria-style recognition”, according to the AFP. These days she is passionately prostituting her cult among Western authorities. [2]

Glenn Greenwald, the American prominent journalist and lawyer in an interview with Iranian journalist Kourish Ziabari told that the MKO is still engaged in violence.”There are credible reports that they are the ones who are working with Israelis and behind the assassination of civilian scientists” he said. “And because this group has paid so many influential politicians in the United States and also because this group now carried out terrorist operations on behalf of Israel and the United States in promotion of the interests of Israel and the United States.”[4]

The experience of Ahmad Chalabi and even the Syrian opposition demonstrate how distorted the miscalculations of Western politicians would be. Maybe, that’s why that Manthrope believes ,”If Obama is not about to be stampeded into war with Iran by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – with the aim of stopping the Tehran regime acquiring the ability to make nuclear weapons – he is unlikely to be impressed by the Rajavis.”[5]

To use the MKO against the Iranian nation is definitely cynical act and maybe worse than what we saw in regard to Iraqi INC or Syrian National Council.

Human Rights Abuse in the MEK

MKO Ringleaders Abuse Female Members Sexually

Those female members of the anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCR) who were residing in Camp Ashraf, the former training center of the group in Iraq, were abused by the MKO ringleaders sexually, a defected member revealed on Monday.

According to a report by Ashraf News website, Zahra Sadat Mir-Baqeri, one of the defected leaders of the MKO, said that she has some information about the sexual abuse of female members by the main ringleader of the terrorist group, Massoud Rajavi.

"Rajavi abused women in the Camp Ashraf sexually and there is a list of 100 young girls and women who had gone under surgical operations to be raped by Rajavi," she said.

Mir-Baqeri said that the surgical operations were carried out to take out the victims’ wombs so that they would not be pregnant after being raped by Rajavi. This is while they were falsely told that they needed surgical operations for being infected with anemia or kidney problems.

Earlier, a human rights group expressed deep concerns about the deteriorating conditions of over 3,000 members of the MKO who are under torture and harassment by the leaders of the group in Camp Ashraf in Northern Iraq.

In March 2011, another defected member of the MKO revealed that the female members of the group have been living under captivity for more than 25 years and are not even allowed to appear in public places alone.

"It can be firmly said that 95% of the women in Ashraf Camp (the terrorist group’s resort in Iraq) have not even been allowed to step in Iraq’s public and recreational places alone all throughout the last 25 years," the defected member said.

Many of the MKO members abandoned the terrorist organization while most of those still remaining in the grouplet are said to be willing to quit but are under pressure and torture not to do so.

A May 2005 Human Rights Watch report accused the MKO of running prison camps in Iraq and committing human rights violations.

According to the Human Rights Watch report, the outlawed group puts defectors under torture and jail terms.

The group, founded in the 1960s, blended elements of Islamism and Stalinism and participated in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran in 1979. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and Western targets.

The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the revolution in a bid to take control of the newly-established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President, Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister, Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the Judiciary Chief, Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.

The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.

The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

Since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, the group, which now adheres to a pro-free-market philosophy, has been strongly backed by neo-conservatives in the United States, who argued for the MKO to be taken off the US terror list.

The US formally removed the MKO from its list of terror organizations in early September, one week after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent the US Congress a classified communication about the move. The decision made by Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement at the time.

In September 2012, the last groups of the MKO terrorists left Camp Ashraf, their main training center in Iraq’s Diyala province. They have been transferred to Camp Liberty which lies Northeast of the Baghdad International Airport.

Camp Liberty is a transient settlement facility and a last station for the MKO in Iraq.

We got informed that the members of Riksdag (the national legislative assembly and the supreme decision-making body in the Kingdom of Sweden) in a humanitarian move have condemned the massacre of Kurds by MEK.

We had all witnessed the crime perpetrated by pmoi in Iraq in 1991. we had witnessed the suppression and massacre of Kurds in Iraq which happened by the direct order of the leaders of MEK, Massoud and Maryam Rajavi . Mrs. Maryam Ghajar Azdanlo ( Maryam Rajavi) had ordered directly through the military transmitters to the MEK military units quote **squash the Kurds under your tanks and armored vehicles and save your ammunitions and bullets for the border and Iranian soil for killing the Iranian soldiers **. This brutal and inhumane order was broadcast by Maryam Rajavi own voice through the military transmitters and after that the Kurds who began uprising against the Saddam Hussein’s government were crushed out and suppressed brutally by MEK army, NLA( National Liberation Army) in favor of the Iraqi dictator , Saddam Hussein in Iraq’s Kurdish areas such as Kafri, Touz Khormato, Ghareh Tapeh, Ghasreh Shirin and …………..etc.

17 MKO members defect from terrorist group, reports say

A group of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) members have reportedly defected from the terrorist group as internal dissensions intensify within the MKO. 17 MKO members defect from terrorist group, reports say

At least 17 MKO members have fled Camp Liberty near the Iraqi capital of Baghdad so far in December.

They have requested UN officials in Baghdad to help them leave Iraq and seek asylum in a European country.

A former MKO member, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he managed to escape from the former US military base near Baghdad International Airport on December 5, despite strict measures and tight controls on the movements of all MKO terrorists.

The MKO fled to Iraq in 1986, where it enjoyed the support of Iraq’s former dictator Saddam Hussein, and set up its camp near the Iranian border.

The group is known to have cooperated with Saddam in suppressing the 1991 uprisings in southern Iraq and carrying out the massacre of Iraqi Kurds.

The MKO has carried out numerous acts of violence against Iranian civilians and government officials.

In a brave and humanitarian move, the Swedish Parliament passed a resolution on 5 December, 2012 acknowledging the massacre of Kurdish people. We as members of the Iran Pen Association salute this decision by the Swedish Parliamentarians and ask you to set up further investigations and research into the disastrous killings of Kurds, so that more people around the world would learn and realize how badly the Kurds have suffered under tyranny and therefore; similar atrocities against them in future could be prevented.

Among the ruling regimes in the Region which have suppressed the Kurdish people, the Iraq’s ousted dictator Saddam Hussein had committed the most savage crimes. Especially, by the chemical bombardment of the town of Halabche and later by attacking the Kurds with heavy weapons and artillery, tanks and missiles when they rose up against Saddam’s despotic rule at the end of the Kuwait War. In fact, it was in this very brutal war against the Kurds that Saddam Hussein used the Iranian group of PMOI/MEK armed forces to savagely suppress the Kurds’ uprising and widespread massacres followed.

We, the writers of this letter, are from Iran Pen Association in Europe that consists of defectors from this Iranian group PMOI/MEK led by Masoud Rajavi. Our activities include Human Rights promotion and helping Iranian refugees. The majority of us have each spent more than twenty years inside Rajavi’s cult in Iraq and each one of us is a living witness and has abundant experience and knowledge of the PMOI/MEK leadership (Masoud and Maryam Rajavi), its cult nature, terrorist activities and its rule of terror, deceit and humiliation inside the Organization and also its grave involvement in massacre of Iraqi Kurds. After the brutal suppression of the Kurds, Masoud Rajavi told his followers in a meeting in Iraq that Saddam’s deputy, Ezat Ibrahim, had personally hailed and thanked him for the killing of the Kurds and putting down their uprising. Furthermore, in video tapes discovered of meetings between Masoud Rajavi and General Haboush (the chief of Saddam’s secret Inteligence Service), Haboush thanked Rajavi for suppressing the Kurds and told Rajavi that he was then considered as a member of Saddam’s Baath Party leadership. In those days of waging war against the Iraqi Kurds, Maryam Rajavi ordered the PMOI/MEK armed forces to “run over the Kurds by tanks”.

The truth and reality is that due to the religious-cult nature of the PMOI/MEK, the extent and depth of its crimes in and outside the Cult, including its involvement in bloody massacre of Kurds; has still mainly remained uncovered and untold. Therefore; in order to shed light on Rajavi’s involvement in killings of the Kurds in Iraq during Saddam’s era, we are ready and willing to provide you with witnesses and documentation for this cause.

European countries is because of their former association with terrorist activities. He added that the MEK is illegal in Iraq under the Iraqi constitution.

In an interview in his office in Baghdad, Georgi Boston said that "the United Nations is working earnestly to end the presence of the MEK organization there in coordination with the Iraqi government."

Georgi Boston said that the United Nations Mission discussed with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ways to resettle MEK members in other countries, pointing out that interviews will be conducted with residents of Camp Liberty in the coming days.

The UN official revealed that dozens of members of the organization who defected and surrendered to the Iraqi authorities will be given priority in the interview process and that the legal action to resettle them outside Iraq after they obtain refugee status in European countries has been discussed with them.

Georgi Boston strenuously refuted as unfounded accusations that UNAMI and in particular Martin Kobler acted as ‘tools of the Iraqi government to put pressure on the MEK’. He said Martin Kobler had sought from the outset to move individuals of the MEK to Camp Liberty on a voluntary basis, and that this process was overseen throughout by a delegation from the UN. He said the UN worked alongside the Iraqi authorities to fulfill their mutual agreement last year to close Camp Ashraf.

He went on to say that 47 individuals had split off from the MEK after arriving in Camp Liberty and surrendered to the Iraqi authorities. UNAMI had met with them and provided records to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In addition, there are others who had left the MEK while in Camp Ashraf.

Mr Boston rejected as false the MEK’s claims that after removal from the US terrorism list, the group would be able to stay in Iraq and be granted political asylum status there. He said the Government of Iraq has said this is impossible and asked us to accelerate the removal of the MEK. The MEK was involved in terrorist acts against Iraqis and was used by the former regime as a repressive tool against the Iraqi people.

Asked about the reluctance of some European countries to accept MEK members for resettlement, Mr Boston said that the MEK’s history of terrorist activities was hindering the process, but that the UN mission was working hard to find a solution to this problem. He stressed that in the meantime the UN had information on a daily basis on the status of the situation in Camp Liberty and its residents.
