The document released by some dispatched members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization reveals that the members had to go through strict procedures in order to go out of camp Ashraf and even commuting between different parts of the Camp. they had to fill out a form requiring their name, destination, time it takes for he/she to be out , reason of his/her exit along with signature and approval from his/her superior. The prescribed rules for those who wanted to go outside the Camp Ashraf had been more complicated as the members where required to get the approval of different parts of the organization such as security, personnel and intelligence commands.

The second form on top of which is written “Visa for internal places “had been issued for the members commute between different parts of the Camp Ashraf i.e. going to hospital, masque, cemetery or different bases within the Camp.

According to former members who could managed to release themselves from Camp Liberty such firm rules are run in Camp Liberty as well.

Open Letter of 57 victims of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Terrorist Cult to Obama

To Barak Obama, President of the United States of America

Dear President Obama,

We are a group of ex members of the People’s Mojahedin Khalq Organization (PMOI aka MEK, MKO, NCRI), who have been victims of this terrorist cult. We read your far reaching speech in the State Department Web site on September 10, 2014. We would like to express our highest appreciation and admiration for the deep understanding of the issue of terrorism and cults in the Middle East region shown in your speech.

You have precisely addressed the real roots of the formation of al-Qaida and ISIS, and expressed your deep sorrow for the barbaric crimes committed against innocent women and children by the terrorist ISIS in Iraq. You also mentioned their barbaric collective summary executions of soldiers.

Mr President,

The unfortunate existence of terrorist cults in the Middle East region and their anti-human behavior is a deep wound that its healing is only possible by preventing them from recruiting and from gaining financial, military and political power.

The al-Qaida and ISIS experience proves that the free world should be proactive rather than reactive, and such terrorist cults should be degraded and ultimately destroyed before the people of the world and the region especially women and children start paying the heavy price with their lives.

Therefore as you have mentioned, “these terrorists are unique in their brutality. They execute captured prisoners. They kill children. They enslave, rape, and force women into marriage.” There should be a unique and united policy towards all the terrorist cults. There should not be good and bad terrorists as some with the intention of opening room for future terrorist groups to form imply.

We believe there are a tremendous amount of similarities between the ISIS that was described in your speech, and the Iranian terrorist Mujahidin-e Khalq. Indeed, many experts on Iraq and Iran share the view that the Mujahidin in Iraq provide media and logistics support for ISIS.

Some of the common characteristics of the Mujahidin and ISIS are as follows:

1. The Mujahidin hide their anti-western and anti-democratic thinking from the general public. While they believe in religious lifelong leadership and Islamic Caliphate and have been practicing it within their cult for years, they pretend publicly to believe in democracy and free elections.

2. Whilst they deeply and strongly believe in armed struggle and the use of violence to achieve their goals, to win their case in a court in Europe, the leaders pretended to be against any violence and armed struggle. Even so, there is still a weapon in their emblem which is a sign that armed struggle is in their ideology.

3. The Mujahidin-e Khalq severely violate human rights. The dissident members were arrested, tortured, jailed in solitary confinement inside their barrack named Ashraf in Iraq and later transferred to Abu-Ghraib prison in Iraq. The Human Rights Watch report published in 2005, about the Mujahidin-e Khalq’s violations of human rights based on the victims’ direct evidence, clearly and strongly condemned their abuse of human rights. The victims are ready to testify to your administration or US Government officials in person. Also the reports of defecting and escaping members in recent years confirms still more the Human Rights Watch report.

4. The Mujahidin, in cooperation with Saddam Hussein’s army participated in the imprisonment and brainwashing and execution of the Iranian POWs in Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war.

5. Massoud Rajavi, the leader of the Mujahidin, ordered compulsory marriages inside their cult after the disastrous military attack on Iran from Iraq in 1988 which resulted in the deaths of 1400 of its members. During these forced marriages hundreds of women who had lost their husbands, had to marry male members not of their choosing.

6. Massoud Rajavi who considers himself as a caliph, a supreme religious and political leader of the people of the world, one year later ordered forced divorce of the Mujahidin families, and he later married himself to all these divorced women.

7. To pave the way toward marrying the divorced women members, he completely destroyed their families by separating even the children from their parents and sent them outside Iraq so there would be no common grounds for the divorced couple to meet or interact. Some of those children, who numbered about 800, aged 7 months to 8 years, were kept in Mujahidin bases in Europe and the USA where they were brainwashed so they would remain obedient and loyal to the cult. Later, clearly against the Geneva Conventions, some of those children aged 15-16 were sent back to Iraq to take part in military operations in which some were killed, and some are still in imprisoned inside camp Liberty. Some of these children have been seriously mentally and socially disordered due to separation from their families.

8. The defected women members of the Mujahidin who have successfully escaped from the Camp in Iraq and been able to reach the west, say that they have been systematically sexually abused by Massoud Rajavi. On the order of Massoud Rajavi and through the administration of Maryam Rajavi women members were forced to undergo needless hysterectomies as a means of destroying any hope they might have of returning to a normal and natural life. Many of such defected women members are ready to talk to any fact-finding body in person.

Dear President,

The Mujahedin was established with the strategy of destroying US led Imperialism. This is our knowledge after some 30 years inside the Mujahidin. Its pretence to be liberal and democratic is a tactic to help them reach power, after which their main strategy can be applied.

As we mentioned earlier in our letter there are no good terrorists, or safe terrorists. All are waiting for their own right time to spread as a cancer in the region or elsewhere.

Apparently the Mujahidin are considered good or safe terrorists so that their high ranking officials such as Mr Alireza Jafarzadeh and Ms Sona Samsami, who used to wear military uniform and commanded military operations, have an office in Washington DC and officially represent the Mujahidin (as their front organization the National Council of Resistance). For your information, Mr Alireza Jafarzadeh had requested in writing (see attached), to commit a suicide attack in order to prove his loyalty to Rajavi.

We wish you success in your fight against all forms of terrorism. We also greatly appreciate and thank you for reading our letter.

The cult of Rajavi

Open Letter to Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras on his support of MKO

Dear Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras

I have read your speeches in support of the Mariyam Rajavi and the Cult she and her husband Masoud Rajavi lead.

Dear Sir

There is a saying in your language that says: “El hábito no hace al monje.” (the cloths do not make the man) or “Obras son amores y no buenas razones.” (Actions speak louder than words.)

Masoud and Maryam Rajavi, are the true evidences for the above sayings.

Please allow me to say that, this is not being said by someone just for the sake of money or free services received, who tries to set the words together without the basic knowledge which would please his or her client as in the case of some of the speakers in the Mojahedin gatherings. But is said by someone who has been in the Mojahedin for nearly 30 years, commanded many of the people in the Liberty Prison, thought them, lived with them, his blood has been shed in some events with them, has been bombed with them either by Iranian or US attacks, knows Maryam and Masoud Rajavi by living with them and working with them very closely as close as a personal body guard can be, in the Mojahedin and also in the so called National Council of Resistance as a member. Of course I also share the treachery done and is being done by Masoud and Maryam Rajavi to all the Mojahedin and to the democracy and free world.

Dear Dr. Quadras

One cannot question the intentions of anybody. But in either cases, weather it is financial and personal benefits or political interests, it does not seem to be befitting to play with the lives of the people that have left best lives that one could imagine and joined the Mojahedin with the outlook of democracy, but later found out that they themselves are the victims of dictatorship enforced by Masoud and Maryam Rajavi.

While Mojahedin were in Camp Ashraf under the most notorious physical and mental suppressions by her and Masoud Rajavi, Maryam Rajavi was shedding her tears about them and calling them the heroes of Ashraf in France.

The people in Liberty are the gun powder for Maryam and Masoud Rajavi’s political battles in the West to deceive the western democracy and pretend to be liberal and democratic. The more this gun powder burns, the more sound it makes and attracts media coverage for the couple.

How on earth in the 21th Century one could claim to be sent by the God and represents the God on the earth if not in the whole Universe, which owns the blood, breath and life and all belongings of his or her members to start with and when in power the whole nation under their grip!

We, who have been under harshest situations beyond imaginations either in hiding or in the prisons in Iran and later in Iraq, have been under unbelievable metal and psychological pressures to keep silence otherwise been jailed, beaten, tortured and even killed to obey such medieval dictatorial system that takes his or her orders as the word of God.

How could one make an agreement with one of the most notorious contemporary dictators (Saddam Hussein) to suppress his or her own members?

How could you call your members “wild animals” in daily mind manipulation sessions and ask other to attack each other on each other’s turn. Rajavi has repeatedly and openly said in general and private meetings that “the opposition to him will be met with Iron Fist; I have come to Iraq so I can do anything I want”.

How could you set the price of leaving such an Organization, 2-4 years jail inside the Organization, then being handed over to Saddam Hussain to be in his jails for at least 8 years? And even if you are more outspoken not satisfied with the above sentence, but death?

Did you know that the sentence for the women member to escape is death? This is the sentence set by Maryam Rajavi Sir.

Did you know that women were systematically sexually abused so they would think of Rajavi as their husband to stop them from leaving the organization? Maryam Rajavi used to arrange these sexual abuses.

Members who used to escape were hunted and if were not lucky enough, arrested, beaten, jailed, interrogated under torture and force obtained written confesses that they are anti-revolutionary and agents of Iran or Foreign Service depending from where they had joined the Organization?

How could you set raising members rank and file if only they were prepared to cut the dissident members to pieces? Masoud Rajavi has clearly and loudly and for thousand times said that we will hunt and kill any defector even in Europe.

To avoid wasting your valuable time, thousands more facts are kept in my heart and mind.

But does the one in thousand said above not recall the Stalin in Russia, Pol Pot in Cambodian, or the medieval systems in Europe and ISIS and Al Qaeda?

Dear Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras

El hábito no hace al monje.” or “Obras son amores y no buenas razones.”

I don’t think for any political, economic, or personal reasons or interests it is appropriate to support such a Cult. By closing your eyes to the thousand facts and only listen to deceiving words of Masoud and Maryam Rajavi.

Human Rights Abuse in the MEK

Setaregan exposes MEK human rights abuses to HR delegates in Geneva

Setaregan exposes MEK human rights abuses to delegates of the Human Rights Council Conference in Geneva

Members and representatives of Setaregan Association (Switzerland), gathered in Geneva for the 27th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The Association used leaflets and individual explanations to inform delegates to the Conference about the human rights abuses practiced by the Rajavis against members of their own organisation, the Mojahedin Khalq. Representatives of Setaregan, including Nasrin Ebrahimi, were able to relate personal testimony to inform delegates, a move which was highly effective.

Setaregan exposed the deceptive behaviour of the MEK. In particular they alerted delegates and officials at the UN to the presence of an individual by the name of Behzad Naziri, who is posing as a human rights activist for a bogus NGO. Naziri is actually a high ranking member of the MEK who is wanted in Iraq for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity there while he served as a high level MEK military commander, as an adjunct to the Saddam regime’s suppressive apparatus. Many former MEK members now living in Europe have personal experience of Naziri’s torture and mistreatment in the MEKs Iraqi camps.

Of particular concern was the mistreatment of women inside the MEK as well as the continued refusal of Maryam Rajavi to free the hostages in Camp Liberty in Iraq.

Members of the Association also gave evidence of the MEK’s support for ISIS and asked for an investigation into activities at the MEK’s headquarters in France and the role of Maryam Rajavi in supporting terrorism and extremism in Iraq and Syria.

Setaregan Association handed over a letter to officials at the HRC explaining these facts. This is produced below:

Behzad Naziri, Mojahedin Khalq military commander, infiltrates Geneva disguised as a human rights activist

BEHZAD NAZIRI

At the start of the 27th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, an agent of the Rajavi cult (Mojahedin Khalq, aka MKO, MEK, PMOI, NCRI), by the name of BEHZAD NAZIRI, has been dispatched to Geneva. Hiding behind the respectable guise of a suit and tie he pretends to belong to various NGOs to infiltrate his way into the buildings and meeting rooms. He is pretending to be a freedom lover and supporter of the rights of the people of Iran but in reality he is carrying out the direct orders of the Mojahedin Khalq (Rajavi cult).

Since the true nature of the Rajavi cult (aka Saddam’s Private Army) is known to all the human rights activists and organisations, the cult does not dare to use its real name to register or to enter meeting rooms. Hence it resorts to using its infamous agents like BEHZAD NAZIRI in disguise to do their job of lobbying by deception, lies and fabricated documents (which the MEK are famous for).

1- BEHZAD NAZIRI, who now hides his membership of the Mojahedin Khalq Organisation, is the same person who served in military uniform in Camp Ashraf as a commander of Saddam’s Private Army during the reign of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship.

2- BEHZAD NAZIRI is one of the closest commanders to Massoud Rajavi (the cult leader), who was deeply involved in the massacre of the Kurdish population of Iraq. Massoud Rajavi, whose existence was totally dependent on the existence of Saddam Hussein, participated fully in the suppression of the uprising of the Iraqi people, and BEHZAD NAZIRI was one of Rajavi’s military commanders who carried out his orders to commit crimes against humanity and war crimes.

3- Human rights organisation have repeatedly reported in detail the suppression of members of the Rajavi cult by their leaders over several decades and all agree that the human rights abuses inside the organisation have never stopped. Rajavi used these inhuman tactics to force the trapped members to carry out orders against their personal beliefs and will. BEHZAD NAZIRI has been and is one of these suppressors and commanders of the Mojahedin Khalq.

4- The Rajavi cult is one of the main collaborators with other terrorist organisations in the region and one of the vocal supporters of ISIS (ISIL or Islamic State). BEHZAD NAZIRI has been and is one of the commanders who is pushing the objectives of the cult leader of the Mojahedin Khalq terrorist organisation which is in line with its open support for the Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL).

The one who has put on military clothes and sits in a tank to murder masses of civilian Iraqi Kurds only to extend the reign of a dictator like Saddam, and the one who has been engaged in the imprisonment, torture and execution of the internal critics of the Mojahedin Khalq terrorist organisation and the one who is now working in support of ISIS in the heart of Europe is not a “Freedom Lover” nor is he a “Supporter of the rights of people of Iran”.

BEHZAD NAZIRI, hiding behind the mask of “the people of Iran and freedom”, has been sent to push the MEK and Rajavi’s agenda. The leader of the cult is determined to keep its members (now mostly disaffected) in Iraq (currently in Camp Liberty), for as long as possible . His hope is that the victory of the ISIL against the government of Iraq will allow the cult to keep these people in Iraq and use them as he used them during the era of Saddam. BEHZAD NAZIRI has been, and remains, one of the key players in misinforming people that they are working for the human rights of the trapped people of Camp Liberty, when the real agenda is not to save them but to keep them there indefinitely.

We ask all the Human Rights organisations, ICRC, UNCHR and others, to stop BEHZAD NAZIRI as the main agent of the Mojahedin Khalq and the head of the group of agents who are now trying to push for the agenda of Massoud Rajavi (a fugitive since the fall of his benefactor Saddam Hussein), from entering meeting rooms, and not to fall into the trap of the disguise of a human rights abuser as a human rights activist. We ask these people and organisations to work to help free the trapped hostages of Rajavi’s cult (MEK) in Camp Liberty and facilitate their transfer to other countries, and we ask European countries to accept as many as they can in this respect. It is a documented fact that the leadership of this organisation is the main problem in creating obstacles to resolving this situation. Hence we ask you to open the closed gates of this camp to the families and loved ones of these hostages and to facilitate simple meetings between these families, some of whom have not seen one another for decades.

Terrorism, Cult and mind manipulation

After September 2001, there is not a single day without some sort of news about Terrorism, its atrocities and our vulnerabilities. These days we are witnessing thousands of people killed, maimed, kidnapped and imprisoned by various offshoots of terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, or the Islamic State, in Iraq and Syria, Al Nusrah in Syria, Al-Shabaab in Somalia, Boko Haram in Nigeria and others in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen and elsewhere.

Even aside, the terrible traumas inflicted on hundreds of thousands or millions of individuals and their families by the destructive/terrorist cult leaders and the financial damage that they inflict on the society; there are also the further victims; i.e. members and followers of these groups.

In this very short speech, I want to explain what the relation between Terrorism and Cult is and explain how these violent groups recruit in our societies and how they can change normal, ordinary and even intellectual young people into a human bomb.

Terrorism

Terrorism in my view is some kind of a social virus similar to any other we know. We are all vulnerable to be infected by this virus mainly because of injustice, discrimination and double standards. Therefore, Terrorism has been with us since the beginning of civilization and unfortunately will remain with us as long as there is any kind of injustice in any society that makes people vulnerable toward it.

Like any other disease; for terrorism, we either can understand its characteristics and our vulnerabilities and immunise ourselves and our society against it, or fight its symptoms, prescribing a very strong painkiller that can harm healthy part of organism as well.

Unfortunately, as usual, governments have a habit of going for the latter one and only when they are forced by public opinion they will go for the former one. This is why most of government’s policies toward terrorism are aiming to face terrorists, rather than cause of terrorism.

Well I am not going to talk about terrorism in general but terrorist organisations in particular and their metamorphosis into destructive cults. Their victims and what can we do to stop them recruiting.

Terrorist Organisations

I will call an organization a terrorist organization if its only tactic, or at least its main tactic, dealing with outside world or for reaching its goal is an act of terrorism. According to this definition, I will not call any popular political organizations, even if they use terrorism to deal with their enemies, a terrorist organization because they are dealing with other problems of society as well; terrorism is not their sole tactic or the pillar of their actions in dealing with their daily problems and objectives. I argue any terrorist organization to survive; either is a destructive cult or has no choice but to change into one.

Change into a destructive cult

Let say virus of Terrorism like any other has only two principles, values and objectives: first to survive and then reproduce or expand its territory. Not being abided by any set of values, culture, custom or beliefs of the society is the main reason why terrorist organisations have to change into a destructive cult. After all their members are from the same society with the same set of values; therefore terrorist organisations either are able to change belief system, personality and individuality of their followers or will lose them for good and like other viruses without, let say hosts either they will fade away or will hibernate somewhere else. This is why soon or late they have to use some sort of mind manipulation technique to change their member’s set of beliefs and later their personality and their selfhood. This is their path toward changing into a destructive cult.

Here I assume everybody is familiar with definition of a cult and a destructive one, therefore I am not going to talk about that.

Vaccination is the solution:

As other viruses that attack live cells of our body and make us ill or even kill us, Destructive cults also attack our system of believe, our personality and individuality and they too will kill us, if not killing our body, certainly they will kill our personality and our individuality.

If we accept this analogy, then we might ask how we face a new deadly virus? Let say HIV or Ebola that we are facing these days. Do we bomb them or their victims? No. We certainly to stop spread of diseases will isolate victims but not killing them, we try to cure them.

We know that no virus or parasite (another analogy or metaphor for leaders of destructive and terrorist cults) can survive without a host. Therefore, instead of killing the Virus, we immunize potential hosts by vaccinating them against the virus, and without any available or substantial number of hosts, viruses soon or late will die away.

How can we vaccinate our people, and especially our young Muslims living in the west?

Three open gates or vulnerabilities of mind of young Muslims:

To prevent young people, especially young Muslims in Western countries, from being recruited, we should understand how terrorist cults use three vulnerabilities of their victims.

1- Injustice: We know that injustices are perpetrated all over the world against individuals and minorities, sometimes even against whole populations. Young people especially are particularly sensitive to these injustices and seek ways to put them right. This is their first ‘vulnerability’, or the first ‘open gate’ to their minds that terrorist cults can enter to infiltrate their thinking and ostensibly offer a solution to the problem. Governments, the media and politicians generally fail to understand and accept the nature and extent of injustice or to give young people ways to vent their anger and frustration about the sorry state of the world. Instead, they tend to turn a deliberate blind eye to wrongs and injustices and try to project a rosy picture of things. Hence, they aggravate and themselves become promoters of the problems, and it is left to the police to deal with protests and public unrest. Among young people, this creates resentment and hatred, not only towards the police and authorities but sometimes towards all of society. Rage leaves the ‘open gate’ of the minds of victims and sympathizers even wider for infiltration by terrorist recruiters.

2- Ideology or doctrine: Nowadays, positive nationalism, public ethics and morality, family traditions, cultural ties and tolerant religions are all diminishing in importance in the everyday lives of young people, especially in the West, and being displaced by pure individualism, celebrity worship and the assumption that, to be of value, you have to be talented, beautiful or rich. Young Muslims in the West are increasingly turning to religion as a cure for all their ills and dissatisfactions. This can be very positive and helpful, but, in the absence of intelligent and progressive preachers in the mosques who understand their frustrations and show them the tolerant and moderate face of religion, this merely opens the second ‘gate’ into the minds of the young devotees for terrorist recruiters and preachers (the main export of Saudi Arabia to other countries after oil). Using a few misrepresented and misinterpreted sentences of the Koran or the Bible, it is easy to radicalize them.

3- Mind manipulation: Unfortunately, schools and universities fail to educate young people about the dangers that destructive/terrorist cults pose to innocent minds unprepared to fend off their influence and their blandishments. Ex cult members, experts in this field can show the methods of mind manipulation that cults, terrorist cults in particular, use to alter young people’s personalities and make them capable of turning into slaves, and even suicide bombers. Lack of education and awareness about what freedom and slavery are in the modern world and how mind can be manipulated by a cult leader is the third vulnerability of these young people. Here we might be able to help; With such education, it might be possible to close this third ‘gate’ into young people’s minds.

How do I define Mind Manipulation?

According to my Mathematical model that I am not going to bore you with mathematical part, I have divided the mind manipulation in three stages:

The first stage is the use of rational and Influence techniques to engender a change of beliefs among new recruits. The next phase is to instil and stabilize the new beliefs and prevent the new recruit from returning to his previous belief system under the pressure of his pre-existing personality and his feelings towards his old way of life, family and friends. This is done mainly via isolation and forcing a change of behaviour, which I call it mind control (control of old feelings and control of behaviour). Finally, a destructive cult leader has to change a disciple’s personality into a collective cult personality; this is done mainly by the use of emotion, which I have called it brainwashing. What can we do?

How should we stop suicide bombers or punish them? By arresting them before they act? Or after their act, when they are in their own paradise? The first option goes against our values and principles, and risks fatal errors and the victimization of innocent people; the second is a joke and impossibility. However, we can and must stop people from becoming human bomb or a killing machine. Therefore, in my conclusion I suggest that we need, urgently and seriously, to conduct more research in order to understand the phenomena of destructive cults and mind manipulation. We need to inform and educate society and especially young people about these phenomena and the dangers they pose. We must criminalize the brainwashing and enslavement of people, just as we banned the old slavery. We need to help people who are on the road to killing their personality and individuality, just as we try to prevent would-be suicides. We have to help the families and friends of those who are enslaved in cults to rescue their loved ones, and encourage and give moral and financial support to those who want to escape cults. In this way, we will save many thousands of individuals from the new slavery and protect our modern way of life from the terrorism perpetrated by organizations that can only survive by changing into destructive cults.

Open letter to MR. JOSE LUIS RODRIGUES ZAPATERO

The Most Honorable Jose Louis Rodriguez Zapatero

“…We know that freedom’s cause is our fair cause. We know that the fight for freedom is often painful, but it is worthwhile. Democracy, true justice, and dignity do not accept the superiority of anyone. No faith, no interpretation of God, no culture is superior to human kind free will to live together.”

The above golden words are from your speech this year in a Paris gathering on the occasion of Mujahidin celebrating start of their so called armed struggle.

I do believe that these are the words of a Major Political Figure that deeply believes in every word he says. I believe this from your deeds: Among them the withdrawal of Spanish troops from the Iraq war, when you found it unjust to continue. On the other hand, the increase of Spanish troops in Afghanistan; when there was a true cause for supporting and fighting for freedom of human kind. Or your Sponsorship of Alliance of Civilizations, even reform of abortion law; your attempts for peace negotiation with ETA in your country, also the reform of various autonomous statutes, particularly the Statute of Catalonia and so on.

It is unfortunate that as a senior member of the Mojahedin e Khalq for nearly 30 years and a member of National Council of Resistance of the Mojahedin, when it comes to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and Mr. Masoud Rajavi, I have experienced quite the opposite.

How can a human being be called free when he or she cannot express his or her ideals, or practice her or his free will, cannot chose his or her cloth, her or his marital status, her or his source of information, her or his political status or party when there is an Imam (Masoud Rajavi) which does that for her or him?

Masoud and Maryam Rajavi talk about the democracy in the West, but dramatically deny the democracy inside and outside their cult and even in the national council of resistance.

Rajavies teach their members that, they are superior to every human being on the Earth. Although for the time being can only apply it within their cult, Rajavi thinks himself as Profit (Imam) sent by the God and represents the God on the whole Universe. To give Your Honor an example, Rajavi ordered all their members to divorce their wives, because Rajavi thought all the wives belong to him rather than their husbands. After the divorce, all the women had to marry Rajavi to be purified and freed from all impurities!

If anyone objected were met with harshest measures one could imagine. Some members who objected were jailed for years, some tortured and even killed. In the past, members were systematically handed over to the dictator of Iraq. The rest are systematically brainwashed in daily devastating general gatherings by senior members who collectively and brutally attack the subject in bitter words to make them convince or keep them silence.

Masoud and Maryam Rajavi do not tolerate any criticism. Criticism is taken as an act against the God. They do not tolerate freedom of individual, no one in the Mujahidin is allowed to any free literature, news or understandings of the free world. They are not allowed to communicate with anybody even their first degree relatives outside the Rajavies will.

They brand all the western political parties as corrupt that must be wiped from the face of the earth. This is hidden in the recent years that Masoud and Maryam Rajavi have escaped from Iran and then from Iraq to the West where can be reached by the Law.

Masoud Rajavi praised the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack as a revolutionary act against imperialism while watching the brutality live on the TV in a general gathering in Iraq.

Cult Experts Hold Press Conference at London College

Experts mingled with cult survivors and members of the press before launching into nearly two hours of presentations and questions at a press conference at London College in Notting Hill on August 22, 2014. These leading thinkers on extremist groups and cults spoke freely about the challenges faced by governments when tackling the risks posed by such groups.

Masoud Banisadar, a former MEK member (an Iranian terrorist organisation) said; “Terrorism is like any other virus. It attacks through our weaknesses.” He pointed out that as long as there are “open gates” that allow the virus to spread, cults and extremist groups will have a free hand to continue. What really needs to be tackled is the “undue influence” (mind manipulation) that enables such groups to thrive.

Lloyd Evans and Masoud Banisadar

All of the participants echoed this theme in their presentations.

Lloyd Evans Editor of JWsurvey.org focused on the “undue influence” of Jehovah’s Witnesses over their members. While acknowledging the right of religions to promote their unique set of beliefs, he argued that when some of those beliefs violate human rights there must be mechanisms in place for proper redress.

Linda Dubrow-Marshall

Linda Dubrow-Marshall is an academic researcher from Salford University. She focused on the special issues associated with individuals who are raised in cults and the challenges they face when they attempt to leave those groups. She mentioned that they may experience depression, grief, existential pain, disassociation, foggy thinking along with many other issues during their transition out of a cult. Because they will face special situations as they try to return to a more normal lifestyle, they need to be given support through an approach she called “re-entry therapy.”

Rod Dubrow-Marshall

The research context was touched on by Professor Rod Dubrow-Marshall, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Derby, who admitted that he had once been part of a “political cult.” He said the evidence of the psychological impact of such groups is clear. “It is essential that governments respond,” he emphasized. “In that sense a religion or ideology should not be a shield that people can hide behind – there should be accountability. All organisations should open up for scrutiny.”

Jon Atack

John Atack is a former Scientologist and author of the book Let’s Sell These People a Piece of Blue Sky. He gave a moving and clear presentation about the research he undertook to uncover the facts about the life of L. Ron Hubbard and the inner workings of the small cult Hubbard created known as Scientology. Mr. Atack’s efforts resulted in some personal costs due to facing litigation. He pointed out that there is a general misunderstanding of the realities of this cult – just in terms of its membership figures. While there are only about 25,000 Scientologists, the organisation makes huge amounts of money by “unduly influencing” its members and by promising them “super-human powers.”

Steve Hassan was the last to speak.

A former Moonie – he is one of the foremost authorities on cults and mind control. He has been involved in educating the public about mind control, controlling groups and destructive cults since 1976. Steve’s wrote

Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves (2000), and in July 2012, he published the paperback and e-book,

He wrapped up the session by explaining his work that was born out of previous research by such experts as Margaret Singer and Robert Lifton. He has expanded that research and taken it much further in the development of what he calls “the BITE model.”

“People born into cults have an authentic suppressed self that they need to re-examine and recover,” he stated. “Through cloning, dependence, fear, and threats – the influence of extremist groups and cults is totalistic.”

A lively period of questions followed. Bo Juel, a former Jehovah’s Witness from Norway, asked how does this relate to “human trafficking.” Steven Hassan replied, “Human trafficking, sex and labor trafficking is a ‘commercial cult.’ Kidnapping, drugging, raping – it is along the same continuum up there with labour trafficking with political ends. The media needs to connect the dots.”

Professor Rod Dubrow-Marshall pointed out that the timing was now right to look deeper into the activities of these groups and they should be held to account for their actions.

In the final comments made while the questions were being asked, it was agreed that some in the media were beginning to look more seriously at what is really happening. But much more remains to be uncovered. We need a deeper understanding of exactly how “undue influence” is being used to recruit and retain membership within extremist groups and cults.

Now that governments have started an inquiry into the cover-ups of child abuse within public organizations (including churches and religious organizations), there was consensus among the panel that the time is ripe for abuses (like the “Trojan horse” situation within schools in Birmingham, UK) to be investigated, uncovered and addressed.

Workshops and group meetings will continue on Saturday and Sunday, August 23-24, 2014. We will provide updates on those gatherings in a future article.

The cult of Rajavi

Deception in the Substance of the MKO

Once the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO) was removed from the list of foreign terrorist organizations of the US department of State, it was believed that it would surely use its lobbying campaign to achieve US financial and military sponsorship. Their support for a group that until less than two years ago was designated a terrorist organization and described by the US State Department as “fundamentally undemocratic” and “not a viable alternative to the current government of Iran”, became legitimate in September 2012.

The portrait of the MKO as a democratic alternative of the Islamic Republic was drawn by the group’s skillful manipulative propaganda machine in the US Congress. A long list of American formerly prominent politicians became permanent participants and speakers at the group’s rallies and lobbying campaigns to flatter and praise Maryam Rajavi.

The MKO, in its turn, allocates a highly focused part of its propaganda on the support it gains by the side of American infamous high profiles such as John Bolton. A highlighted icon on the group’s website demonstrates several speeches by American figures in support of the cult of Maryam Rajavi. Definitely, the MKO propaganda is highly proud of having the support of a number American warmongers who do not believe in engagement with Iran.

Daniel Larison of the American Conservative makes fun of the US mainstream figures who have been deceived by the group’s propaganda apparatus. He points to Hugh Shelton, a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs who “is opposed to diplomacy with the Iranian government, because he insists that Tehran can’t be trusted to honor its agreements”. [1]

Larison ironically notifies the deceitful approach of the MKO that is deeply trusted by certain American politicians. He suggests, “Leaving aside how crazy it is to spurn diplomacy because governments sometimes lie and break their promises, there is something especially weird about an argument that simultaneously promotes the cause of the MEK while complaining about Iranian deceit.”[2]

“As it has sought to rehabilitate itself in the West, the MEK has claimed all sorts of spurious, self-serving things about what it represents,” he reveals the hypocrisy of the MKO. “Despite being a bizarre authoritarian cult with Marxist and quasi-Islamist views, it now pretends to be exactly what Westerners want an Iranian exile group to be.”[3]

In addition, the American Conservative correspondent clarifies that manipulated Western sponsors of the MKO do not care about the fraudulent attitude of the group as long as it runs their agenda against Iran. “It doesn’t matter to the MEK’s American fans that it is lying about its political views, and they are obviously not worried about reciting those lies for Western audiences,” he writes. “Indeed, it has so completely hoodwinked them that they think it should be rewarded with American support.”[4]

“The shilling for this group by many prominent American former officials and politicians is one of the more disgraceful displays of the last decade, and as long as it continues it should be held up for derision”, he conclude. [5]

This is added to covert spying and military cooperation the group has managed with Israel despite its old history of anti-Zionism ideology. The president of National Iranian American Council (NIAC) Trita Parsi states the MKO’s Long time hostility against Israel: “The MEK’s history of violence and anti-Israeli activities is long and bloody. In the 1970s, it established deep ties with Yasser Arafat and both provided and received training from the PLO fighters… Massud Rajavi, the head of the MEK, greeted Arafat in Tehran with a Kalashnikov as a welcoming gift.”[6]

NIAC’s president suggests that the bizarre mixture of Islam and Marxism in the ideology of the MKO had made it totally hated by Israel since the group “fell in both categories”. According to Parsi, “Israeli diplomats knew that whoever seized power in Iran in 1979 would be no lover of Israel—whether it was the Islamists who opposed Israel on religious and ideological grounds, or the leftists who viewed Israel as an outpost for American imperialism in the region.” [7]

How came that the MKO turned out to become an ally of Israel?

Trita Parsi finds it not surprising in the MiddleEast where “Political one-night stands are not unusual” but he warns that “associating Israel with a cultish Iranian terror group is damaging to Israel on several levels.” [8]

This warning demonstrates the MKO’s extremely bad fame among intellectuals. It is notoriously known for its deceitful nature.

Dr Masoud Banisadr is joining a panel of international experts at a workshop in London on the weekend of August 23-24, 2014. The workshop will address some of the major concerns relating to the undue influence of extremist groups and cults. Other participants include:

Mujahedin Khalq; A proxy force

Embracing the MKO, Success in the Short Term, Disaster in the Long Term

Regarding heavy expenses and large amounts of money, energy and time the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO) spends to portrait itself as a pro-democracy movement, its so-called Great Gathering in Villepinte Paris, was expected to be addressed by at least a few Iranian political and intellectual figures, as it is usual in other oppositions’ meetings and conferences. The large group of speakers who addressed the gathering almost entirely included foreign politicians, particularly American former high profiles.

The absence of Iranian prominent figures in the MKO propaganda indicates the unpopularity of the group among Iranian diaspora although large number of audience were bused to the hall from different parts of Europe. Speakers were offered first class flights and luxurious hotels in Paris to address the bused audience.

But, why this large number of non-Iranians –especially Americans- speak in favor of the MKO despite the numerous reports and documents that confirm cult-like undemocratic substance of the group ?

Ray McGovern, an ex-CIA operative was one of those individuals –lesser known than the heavyweight list that supports the cause of the MKO in the US—who are enough concerned and informed about the dark record of the group. McGovern explained the use of the group in the US to Monitor in February 2005, years before the group was removed from the list of terrorist organizations of the State Department:

"Why the U.S. cooperates with organizations like the Mujahedin, I think, is because that they are local, and because they are ready to work for us. Previously, we considered them a terrorist organization. And they exactly are. But they are now our terrorists and we now don’t hesitate to send them into Iran….for the usual secret service activities: attacking sensors, in order to supervise the Iranian nuclear program, mark targets for air attacks, and perhaps establishing secret camps to control the military locations in Iran. And also a little sabotage."[1]

At the time, Pat Long a former department manager in the military secret service, also said to Monitor, “Global Option has been taken up as buffer by the Pentagon in order to hide the Pentagon’s relations with a terrorist organization from the public.”[2]

The ex-civil servant of Pentagon secret services added: "Secret Services adopt security measures in their operations to which we can’t link the orders of government. So, if the operation fails, one can claim that the government has had no role in it and that there were other hands involved.”[3]

Pat Long predicted the puppet role of the MKO for the world powers. "They are again in business,” she said. “This time not beside Saddam Hussein but at the side of the US: always useful, always a puppet in the hands of powers."[4]

As Saddam Hussein’s private army during the 1980s and the 1990s, the MKO shifted to serve the US and Israel in the following decades. Karen Kwiatkowski, ex Pentagon official notifies, "MKO is ready to do things over which we would be ashamed, and over which we try to keep silent. But for such tasks we exactly use them."[5]

Considering the fact that the Cult of Rajavi is such an opportunistic group that may resort to various powers from time to time depending on its regional situation, Elizabeth Rubin of The New York Times warns western Politicians, "MEK is not only irrelevant to the cause of Iran’s democratic activists, but a totalitarian cult that will come back to haunt us." [6]

However, the MKO elements are almost the only Iranians who are seen in the halls of the US Congress “mingling with Hill staffers and representatives”.

Congressional support for the MKO as a cult-like terrorist entity is widely questioned because the leaders of the MKO operate their organization autocratically, stifling opposition within the group and fostering a cult-of-personality around Massoud Rajavi and his wife, Maryam. Practically the MKO isolates its members from the outside world, manipulating and abusing them in its modern slavery system. The mind controlling and brainwashing structure of the cult defy everything that democracy represents.

If the cult of Rajavi comes to power in Iran, it would continue its quest of goals that are contrary to democracy and increase the likelihood of continued terrorist activity, perhaps building a nuclear bomb. By the way, embracing the MKO is finally a lose-lose game for both its supporters and the group.
