Jalili Accuses Germany of Backing MKO

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili accused Germany of supporting anti-Iran terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), by allowing the Jalili Accuses Germany of Backing MKO group to have "bases" in that country.

Talking to the online site of the Hamburg-based weekly news magazine Der Spiegel, Jalili said, "The Berlin government is promoting (MKO) terror" … by permitting it to have "bases in Germany."

Meanwhile, Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator said he was cautiously upbeat on prospects for progress at next week’s nuclear talks in Geneva, Switzerland, featuring Iranian officials and diplomatic representatives of the five UN veto powers plus Germany.

"I am traveling "with optimism to the negotiations but we are also realists," added Jalili.
He stressed although Iranian officials would discuss the nuclear question at Thursday’s meeting in Switzerland, it would not include the issue of uranium enrichment.

He vowed Iran would "never surrender its right" of having a nuclear enrichment program.
Jalili made clear Tehran did not fear western threats of tightening sanctions.

The Iranian official said it was up to the US and Europe to make concessions in the stalemate over Tehran’s nuclear program.

"It’s up to the West now to make a move," Jalili added.

Three more defectors of Rajavi’s Cult who were banned behind the bars of Mujahedin at Camp Ashraf returned home and joined their families.

Within a friendly atmosphere at Nejat Society Gorgan Office, Mr.Ahmad Sarayee, Mr.Jamshid Sarayee and Mr. Yunos Yanpey gathered together and shared their bitter memoirs of the days of their being captives of MKO and that their new life in their motherland is filled with joy and peace.

Call for an end to MKO hunger strike

Anglican Church leader backs MKO supporters
The Archbishop of Canterbury has called for an end to a hunger strike outside the US Embassy in London by supporters of the terrorist Mujahedeen-e-Khalq Organization (MKO).

The supporters are protesting against the treatment of some 3,000 MKO members, whom have been confined to Camp Ashraf in Iraq since the US invasion of the country in 2003.

Rowan Williams, the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Church, on Monday expressed deploration for the conditions of the camp, adding that it was a humanitarian issue "of real magnitude and urgency," AFP reported.

The United States, Canada, Iraq and Iran have designated the MKO as a terror organization. It was only recently removed from the Council of the European Union’s terror list.

The group is responsible for many acts of terrorism in Iran, helping former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the massacre of Iraqis, and killing civilian and military personnel working for the US Department of State.

The US military officially turned control of the camp — which houses MKO members regarded by NATO forces as protected under the Geneva Conventions — to the new Iraqi government on January, 2009.

Residents of the camp claim that an Iraqi raid there in July left several people dead. The demonstrators in London, meanwhile, are asking Washington to reclaim responsibility for Camp Ashraf.

Baghdad has repeatedly vowed to close the camp, but Williams, who has met with several of the protesters over the past few days, said returning the MKO members to Iran endangered their lives, urging authorities to investigate the matter.

He further added that a UN monitoring team must be established to visit the camp.

Dr. Rowan William support for Saddam's Private army LONDON – The head of the Church of England said Sunday that Iraq and the United States have a duty to protect Iranian refugees in a camp in Iraq from violence or abuse.

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said events at Camp Ashraf northeast of Baghdad "constitute a humanitarian and human rights issue of real magnitude and urgency".

"There is a strong argument in terms of international law that the Ashraf residents are ‘protected persons’," he said in a statement.

Iraqi forces launched a deadly raid on the camp, in Diyala province, in July, killing 11 people, raising concerns about residents’ safety.

Iraq gained sovereignty over the camp on January 1, following the expiry of a UN mandate that had given US forces responsibility for the camp.

"Both the government of Iraq and the government of the United States — as the agency responsible for the transfer of the residents to another jurisdiction — have an obligation to secure the rights of these residents and to defend them from violence or abuse."

The archbishop said a UN monitoring group should be established to visit the camp, which is home to 3,500 People’s Mujahedeen members and their families.

Williams, who met a group of Ashraf supporters last week, urged protesters in Britain to end their hunger strike in support of the camp residents.

US ambassador to Iraq Christopher Hill earlier this month vowed to press the Iraqi government, which the Mujahedeen say answers to Tehran, to live up to assurances to treat the residents humanely and make sure they are not repatriated to Iran.

The People’s Mujahedeen, an Islamic movement, was founded in 1965 in opposition to the shah of Iran. It has subsequently fought to oust the clerical regime which took power in the 1979 Islamic revolution.

The group set up Camp Ashraf in the 1980s — when former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was at war with Iran — as a base to operate against the Tehran government.

Chris Bryant: Our ambassador in Iraq has written to the Iraqi authorities to ask for a review into the recent events at the camp. Officials from our embassy in Baghdad are continuing to follow developments, and will shortly undertake a further visit to the camp.

Our view remains that the residents of Camp Ashraf are not entitled to ‘protected persons’ status as the Fourth Geneva Convention ceased to apply in Iraq after 28 June 2004, following the end of active hostilities and occupation.

Baghdad determined to expel Mujahedin

Iraqi National Security Advisor Mouwafak Al-Rubaie has said that Baghdad is determined to expel the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization from Iraq.

“Baghdad has made the final decision not to allow the group to stay on its soil,” Al-Rubaie told the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Monday.

The Iraqi national security advisor said Iraq has offered two options to the MKO: “Either a voluntary return to Iran or (they must) choose a third country.”

He added, “There is no other way.”

The Iraqi Constitution prohibits the presence of terrorist groups in the country, he noted.

Al-Rubaie said Iraq is conducting negotiations with certain countries that may be willing to accept MKO members.

Asked whether the Iraqi police’s decision to arrest some MKO members was related to the group’s involvement in the suppression of the Iraqi people during Saddam Hussein’s rule, he only said, “The judicial branch set its regulations and made the decision without the interference of the executive branch. In Iraq, all people are under the jurisdiction of the Judiciary and there is no distinction between them.”

Asked if Iraq is ready to extradite some of the MKO ringleaders, for whom Iran has issued arrest warrants, he replied, “Judicial agreements on the extradition of criminals specify such types of cooperation between countries.”

Camp Ashraf, which houses 3,418 MKO members, is on Iraqi soil and under Iraqi control and all the people residing in the camp are subject to Iraqi law, he explained.

The MKO began a campaign of assassinations and bombings in Iran shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The group moved to Iraq in the early 1980s and fought Iran from there until the United States invaded in 2003.

For years, Rajavi has kept a number of his members wondering in Iraq, with his vain promise of the overthrow of Islamic Republic. He has always tried to deceive the poor imprisoned members in order to maintain them far from the social events happening outside camp Ashraf. He could never gain results of the strategies he led for more than three decades. Nowadays he is stuck among his policies so he has kept a large number of his forces, in Iraqi territory, as hostages in order that he might find a way to release himself from this deadly cul-de-sac.

Today, his failed armed struggle has led him to a point that he concluded in writing letters to the highest authorities of IRI that he has long called as the leaders of crime and ignorance.

It is clear that Rajavi has always been on the wrong way but the families of Camp Ashraf residents are concerned about the lives of their beloved ones who are still behind the bars of hellish organization of Rajavi. Large group of families seek the accomplishment of Iraqi government’s ultimatum based on the expulsion of cult members from Iraq and the removal of Camp Ashraf. Immediately after the recent clashes at Camp Ashraf, they contacted Nejat Society and asked for further activities to visit their children and to pave the way for their return to Iran.

At Nejat Society Mazandaran Office, we found an opportunity to visit Mr. Jannat Sadeqi at his work place. Mr. Behrouz Jannat Sadeqi is the brother of three residents of Camp Ashraf. His three brothers have been captured by Rajavi’s Cult for years. He was the only one to take care of his old parents. “The only responsible for grieves we bear is Rajavi” he said, “Who took my brothers to Iraqi deserts by deceiving them”. He continued:”I don’t know why Rajavi urges on staying in Iraq despite his political failure. What does he want of staying in Iraq? Why did he flee from Iraq if it was a good place for the organization?”

The visit took place with the presence of some defectors of MKO and former comrades of Mr. Sadeqi’s brothers. Mr. Sadeqi was so excited by visiting them; he tried to ask about the condition of his brothers in Camp Ashraf. He listened to explanations made by Nejat members on the recent situation of the cult.

The visited lasted an hour and at the end we asked him to let us visit his parents but he got worried saying that he wished he could get us visit them but the visit might make them sick since it might recall them their beloved sons. They cannot bear such a visit. They are just waiting their three children.

We are looking forward for the day that those beloved friends could get rid of Rajavi’s cult and join their families.

Iraqi Court Receives 5,000 Complaints against MKO, Former Baghdad Regime

Iraq’s supreme criminal court assigned to review crimes done by the former Iraqi Baath regime during the 1991 uprising (Shabaniyah Intifada) announced that it has received 5,000 complaints filed against the regime and anti Iran terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).

The court confirmed in its first session that it has received 5,000 authentic and verifiable complaints from the people of the northern Iraqi region of Kurdistan.

The families of the victims as well as those disabled during the suppression of the uprising have asked for chasing and punishing those responsible for the crimes done during the suppression of intifada in northern and southern Iraq, the Iranian website Habilian reported.

The court also issued law suits for 112 members of the former Baath regime, the most prominent of them Ali Hassan Al-Majid, known as the Chemical Ali.

The Shabaniyah Intifada aimed to free Iraq from rule of the Baathist regime and to stand against the US raids and possible occupation of the country in 1991. The Intifada succeeded in setting free nine southern Iraqi provinces, but after Iraq’s withdrawal from Kuwait, the Shiite population came under a savage attack by the Iraqi army which claimed the lives of tens of thousands of them.

At the time, the MKO played such an outstanding role in suppressing the uprising that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein described the MKO leader, Masoud Rajavi, as his savior and allocated a $30-million monthly budget to the terrorist organization until he was deposed in 2003.
The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.
The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.

The MKO has been in Iraq’s Diyala province since the 1980s.

Nejat Society, Mazandaran Office reported that its members visited family members of Sha’aban Izakian. They succeeded to see his old mother, together with a number of recently defected members.

During the visit, the brother asked about the situation of Ashraf residents. One of the defectors explained the current situation ruling the cult in Camp Ashraf while the old mother was listening to him carefully. Then she began talking of her memoirs of his son “Musa”.
After, she listened to what others said about the actual condition of Camp Ashraf and the recent incidents; she got so upset and worried about the fate of her son who hasn’t contacted them for years.
The mother was moved by visiting the ex-members of MKO who succeeded to return home.
She was so motivated to see Musa again that she cursed Rajavi as the person who caused the separation of her son from her speaking of other disasters Rajavi caused on their neighbors and friends, she said:

Kamran Khala’tbari and Iraj Taleshi are two of our neighbors who are now captured in Camp Ashraf. Hamide Kouzehgar was also in Ashraf but she died there due to cancer and was buried there too. The house behind ours is her Father’s.”
Mustafa shaa’ban Izakian, Musa’s brother showed his deep concern on the fate of his brother, asking Nejat Society to help them visit their brother and release him from the organization which has always used its members as tools of Rajavi’s ambition.
At the end, Mrs. Izakian condemned the acts of MKO during the eight years of Iran-Iraq war and asked for serious moves to release his son from Iraq.

Iraqi MP: Presence of PMOI in Iraq is causing many problems

The Iraqi Kurdistan Alliance MP Mahmoud Othman, asserted on the Expulsion of Mujahedeen Khalq, an Iranian opposition to leave Camp Ashraf in Iraqi territory.

"the presence of the PMOI’s Camp Ashraf in Diyala province is causing many problems, adding that it is best for Mujahedin to leave the Iraqi territory to end the tensions and complexities between the Iraqi government and the Mujahedin Khalq Organization,..” Othman said
in an interview with an Iraqi News Agency.

Othman stressed that the events that took place in the camp was predictable because the organization is opposed to the Iranian regime and the Iraqi government has established a friendly relationship with Iran, and Tehran demands the government of Baghdad constantly to make MKO leave the Iraqi soil.
