Baghdad, 8 July 2013 – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Mr. 
Martin Kobler, welcomed the relocation of a first group of seven Camp Liberty residents to Germany today.
“These are the first of the approximately 100 residents Germany has agreed to accept for relocation,” Mr. Kobler said. “I thank the Government of Germany for offering a new home to these persons in need of international protection.”

Islam Times – Sources close to Jordan intelligence services revealed that a meeting regrouping several leading 
members of terror organizations have met in Jordan to discuss their operation in Syria.
It has been established that such groups have operating and recruiting from Syrian refugee camps in Jordan.
Ashraf news explained that its sources had established that terrorists have been using Jordan as a base and by-pass country onto Syria where they are working to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad regime.
A report presented to the Jordanian intelligence chief Genera clearly points to the arrival in Jordan of large numbers of PMOI – People’s Mujahedeen of Iran, a terror organization – where they met with Syrian opposition leaders.
Eighteen individuals who had long been taken as hostages by the Cult of Rajavi, succeeded to escape the MKO Camp Liberty.
A number of these former MKO members who managed to run their planned escape, submitted themselves to Iraqi authorities. Some others used the opportunity to surrender to UNAMI and UNHCR officials who had come to visit the Camp. They forcefully got on UN vehicles patrolling in camp Liberty and sought refuge.
Among MKO defectors, a high ranking interpreter ,a few superior commanders and a few high ranking members are found. Their names will be released after passing legal procedures.
The recent events demonstrate failure of the Rajavis’ strategy. Following publication of open letters by several members of the MKO including Iraj Mesdaqi, Esmaiel Yaghmaiee, Karim Qasim and Mohammad Reza Rowhani who criticized the group leaders and their functions, the runaway of 18 beloved friends from the cult of Rajavi gives us the hope for salvation of our other friends.

Members of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as MEK, NCRI and PMOI) who 
have been sent from Iraq to Albania in recent months are disobeying the orders of their ringleaders and seeking to defect the group.
In a report today, Didehban Center said that most of the MKO members who have been transferred to Albania from their transit camp in Iraq no more obey their masters and cannot be controlled by their ringleaders.
Didehban Center referred to a recent ceremony in France to celebrate the anniversary of the terrorist group’s armed attack against Iran in 1981, which was broadcast for the MKO members in Albania through video conferencing at a luxurious hotel in Tirana, and said merely 10 people from the 71 MKO members in Albania participated in the ceremony, while others did not show up in a bid to display their opposition to the group’s ringleader Massoud Rajavi and the terrorist group.
Many of the MKO members have abandoned the terrorist organization while most of those still remaining in the group are said to be willing to quit but are under pressure and torture not to do so.
A recent Human Rights Watch report accused the MKO of running prison camps in Iraq and committing human rights violations.
According to the Human Rights Watch report, the outlawed group puts defectors under torture and jail terms.
The group, founded in the 1960s, blended elements of Islamism and Stalinism and participated in the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran in 1979. Ahead of the revolution, the MKO conducted attacks and assassinations against both Iranian and Western targets.
The group started assassination of the citizens and officials after the revolution in a bid to take control of the newly-established Islamic Republic. It killed several of Iran’s new leaders in the early years after the revolution, including the then President, Mohammad Ali Rajayee, Prime Minister, Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the Judiciary Chief, Mohammad Hossein Beheshti who were killed in bomb attacks by MKO members in 1981.
The group fled to Iraq in 1986, where it was protected by Saddam Hussein and where it helped the Iraqi dictator suppress Shiite and Kurd uprisings in the country.
The terrorist group joined Saddam’s army during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-1988) and helped Saddam and killed thousands of Iranian civilians and soldiers during the US-backed Iraqi imposed war on Iran.
Since the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, the group, which now adheres to a pro-free-market philosophy, has been strongly backed by neo-conservatives in the United States, who eventually took the MKO off the US terror list.
The US formally removed the MKO from its list of terror organizations in early September 2012, one week after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent the US Congress a classified communication about the move. The decision made by Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement at the time.
In September 2012, the last groups of the MKO terrorists left Camp Ashraf, their main training center in Iraq’s Diyala province. They have been transferred to Camp Liberty which lies Northeast of the Baghdad International Airport.
Camp Liberty is a transient settlement facility and a last station for the MKO in Iraq.
27 Camp Hurriya Residents Depart For Albania

On June 19 and June 21, two groups of Camp Hurriya residents, 27 in total, were permanently relocated to Albania. This was the third of a series of movements planned under the terms of a generous humanitarian offer by the Government of Albania to accept 210 individuals from Camp Hurriya. The United States thanks Albania for its compassion in this humanitarian endeavor. So far, 71 individuals have relocated to Albania as part of this agreement, and we look forward to additional individuals relocating as soon as possible.
The United States strongly supports the work of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), and the tireless efforts of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General Martin Kobler to relocate remaining camp residents outside Iraq. We urge the Mujahedin-e Khalq leadership, and all responsible parties, to ensure full cooperation with the UNHCR relocation process so that future movements occur as expeditiously as possible.
The relocation of Camp Hurriya residents outside of Iraq is a humanitarian mission and vital to their safety and security. The United States renews its call on the Government of Iraq to help ensure the security of the camp in accordance with its December 25, 2011 Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations. This is a matter of extreme urgency given ongoing threats to the camp. We further renew our call on the Government of Iraq to investigate and bring to justice the terrorists responsible for the June 15 rocket attack against the camp.
Another group of 14 Camp Liberty residents in Iraq have relocated to Albania on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
This is the third group in a series of planned moves to relocate Camp Liberty [Temporary transit Location] residents to Albania.
The third group comprised 14 MKO members: 12 Men and 2 women.

Iraq’s Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the Saturday’s attack on Camp Liberty, where it houses around 3000 members of the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization .
MKO’s transient home near Baghdad International Airport came under mortar attack on Saturday, killing 2 and wounding 27 members of the terrorist group.
In a statement, Wathiq al-Battat, a top member of Iraq’s Hezbollah movement, claimed the group was behind the mortar attack, Habilian Association reported on Sunday.
It was the second attack on the remaining members of terrorist MKO in Iraq since February. The previous one took place in February 9, which led to a number of deaths and injuries. Al-Battat took responsibility for that attack as well, and warned of further attacks until they leave Iraq.
Al-Battat said they had 120 rockets ready to hit Camp Liberty on Saturday, but they managed to fire 13 of them. He again threatened further attacks against members of the terrorist group in Iraq.
MKO’s socializing with Iraqi politicians supporting al-Qaeda and other militant groups was the stated motivation behind Saturday’s attack.
Some 3000 MKO members have been relocated from their decades-long paramilitary base in northeastern Iraq to a former US military base in Baghdad.
The relocation was in line with the memorandum of understanding signed on December 25, 2011 between Iraq and United Nations to temporarily transfer them to a transient home for the UNHCR to determine their refugee status.
Albania became the first country to offer a home to over 200 MKO members. Forty-four MKO members have been so far resettled in this country in two groups of 14 and 30.
Two members of the Iranian opposition group, People’s Mujahedin Organization were found dead a month ago in the Idlib region in Western Syria, reported a European MEP in contact with anti Bashar Al-assad rebels.
They fought alongside insurgents seeking the overthrow of the Syrian regime backed by Iran. Considered by France as a terrorist organization, the People’s Mujahedin have a base in Iraq and their headquarters in Parisian suburb. Western and Arab intelligence services would use them against Iranian interests and the allies of Tehran such as Syria.

Discovery and seizure of advanced telecom devices in MEK food convoy entering Camp Ashraf – Khalis Mayor calls for investigation
Mayor of Khalis in Diyala province, Uday Al Khadran, called on the Iraqi government to open an urgent investigation after advanced telecom devices were seized in Camp Ashraf which is home to a number of the Mojahedin Khalq terrorist group.
In a press statement Al Khadran said that the security services had found 80 phones hidden in a suspicious manner inside a shipment carrying food. The shipment came from one of the Arab companies which had bid to secure the needs of the MEK members in the camp.
Al Khadran said that the way the devices had been hidden demonstrates an intention to use them in a non-legal framework that is unlawful activities. He said, “these devices and the sophisticated way they were hidden show the MEK’s intention to use them illegally”.
Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG) Martin Kobler expressed anger at the lack of cooperation of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, NCRI and PMOI) in their resettlement and departure from Iraq.
Kobler (UNAMI) made the remarks while briefing the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (AFET) on the current developments in Iraq in a meeting on May 29.
Kobler also briefed AFET on UNAMI’s efforts to resettle the former residents of Camp Ashraf to third countries.
He deplored the lack of cooperation of the residents and of their leadership with the UNHCR and UN monitors, and urged them to accept concrete resettlement offers. Stressing that "resettlement to safe countries is the only durable option", he called again on European Union member states to accept former Camp Ashraf residents into their countries.
Meantime, reports said on Saturday that MKO members are running away from the group’s transient settlement facility, Camp Liberty, before they are sent by their leaders to other countries.
According to a report by Ashraf News website, an informed source in the committee supervising the Camp Liberty affairs said that five MKO members had fled the Camp two days ago.
The informed source named the defectors as Arshad Shekarzehi and Hassan Sha’bani as well as three other members who were not named.
They surrendered to the Iraqi security forces and were transferred to the UN mission in Baghdad, the source added.
