Iranian FM decries France green light to MKO activities

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed regret that the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) has been given permission to carry out its activities in France.

The presence and activities of the MKO in France are regarded as “a moot point” in relations between Tehran and Paris, Zarif told IRIB in an interview published on Saturday, a day after he wrapped up his two-day visit to the French capital.

“During our talks with the French officials, we raised this issue as a moot point in our relations and they also emphasized that they have no connection with this group (MKO),” he said.

He added that the MKO’s terrorist nature is not hidden to anybody, saying all regional and European countries are aware of the group’s acts of terror.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed regret that some “reactionary regimes in the region are once again capitalizing on this group as they did so in the past.”

Zarif added that the Islamic Republic is aware that Saudi Arabia has been colluding with the MKO and providing it with financial support since the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s.

The Al Saud regime has decided to publicize its cooperation with the terrorist group since last year by attending its meetings, he said.

On Saturday, the MKO terror group held a meeting in Paris, which was attended by some of the former US, European and Saudi officials, including former Saudi spy chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal, who also delivered a speech.

On July 9, 2016, Paris hosted another annual meeting organized by the MKO terrorist group, which was also attended by Faisal.

Zarif emphasized that all such moves show the desperation of the Islamic Republic’s opponents who had no option but to resort to groups with no place among the Iranian nation in order to achieve their own “ominous objectives.”

The MKO is the most hated terrorist group among the Iranians because of its dark history of assassinations and bombings and for siding with former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in his eight-year war against Iran in the 1980s.

Out of the nearly 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist assaults since the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, about 12,000 have fallen victim to MKO’s acts of terror.

The terrorist group also helped Saddam in his brutal crackdown on his opponents.

The West must realize that the MKO is not popular

As the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/the cult of Rajavi) is holding its so-called annual grand gathering in Paris, its supporters try to be grateful for their luxurious trip to Paris donated to them by the group.

Former Secretary of Homeland Security Department of the United States, Tom Ridge is a well-paid advocate of the MKO. Together with a number of his colleagues, Ridge has been paid thousands of dollars for his speeches in support of the group as well as his first class flights to France and his luxurious hotel rooms in Paris every year.

Therefore, the hefty payments have convinced him to forge the truth. In his recent article, published by Arabnews, just two days before the grand gathering he claims that “many Iranians have boycotted the presidential election” in Iran! He claims that the large voter turnout is the “regime propaganda” while the entire world-wide media have admitted that the Iranians’ participation in the recent presidential elections was great. Aljazeera, for instance described the election as “a massive voter turnout”. “Long queues were seen outside polling stations across the country, and voting time was extended by five hours”, according to BBC.

However, Mr. Ridge prefers to neglect the truth and instead call for support for the MKO declaring his plan to attend the group’s rally in Paris, ”which is expected to draw upward of 1000,000 Iranian expatriates from around the world, and will be broadcast live to millions of Iranians.”

He seems to be so naïve that he cannot recognize the huge number of non-Iranians who are bused to the so-called grand gathering from around Europe including college students, African and middle eastern refugees and a lot more irrelevant people who have been promised a free trip to the lovely memorable French capital, Paris.

He claims that millions of Iranians watch the MKO’s masquerade show live while the 80-milllion Iranian population who almost all have access to the Internet and satellite TV channels, hardly ever know the MKO or even if they know the group they do not sound eager to know about it or to follow its news.

Mr. Ridge’s is made forget the violent background of the MKO. Ironically, he advises the international community to “encourage the democratic transformation of Iran by supporting democratic alternatives to the current regime”. This is an alarming sign of his poor judgment about the MKO and its situation among the Iranian public opinion.

Indeed, various sources emphasize that the MKO enjoys very little support in Iranian public because of its cooperation with Saddam Hussein during the eight years of Iran-Iraq war and moreover due to its violent bloody struggle against the government that took the lives of thousands of Iranian civilians.

“The group is wildly hated inside Iran and has almost no support in the Iranian diaspora”, writes Daniel Larison of the American conservative. “It is widely unrepresentative to what most Iranians in Iran and elsewhere want for their country.”

MEP Gérard Deprez claims 265 parliamentarians support Rajavi’s MEK. Really?

A week before the Mojahedin Khalq (MEK) holds its annual regime change rally at Villepinte in Paris next Saturday, Belgian MEP Gérard Deprez, Chair of the Friends of a Free Iran in the European Parliament has issued a statement which he claims has been signed by 265 parliamentarians. As well as expressing concern over the role of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the statement also mentions “Rouhani’s minister of justice is a self-confessed murderer who was a member of the Death Committee, ordering the execution of over 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, mostly from the main opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). He concludes his press briefing by stating: “In order to express our solidarity with the Iranian democratic opposition, I will attend the FREE IRAN gathering in Paris on 1 July where I will present the support of 265 members of the European Parliament for this joint declaration…” I wonder how many MEPs would actually sign any statement so obviously meant as a show of support for the MEK.

To find out, I spoke with the offices of several MEPs who are concerned and actively involved in the issue of human rights in Iran. None of them knew anything about such a statement, but said that with such widespread support it is something they definitely should have been aware of.

Perhaps there is good reason for this. Like many statements and petitions over the years which mention the MEK this looks like fake news. Anyway, it would have been much easier to pass this off as genuine if Deprez had also published the names of the 265 signatories. As parliamentarians, it is doubtful they would feel endangered by publicly announcing their views in this way.

Unless, of course, they had spotted the factual errors and grammatical mistakes typical of documents written by the MEK themselves. The MEK has history. For years the MEK has interfered in this way – claiming huge numbers of supporters among politicians – in national parliaments across Europe, particularly in the UK. It got so ridiculous that several British MPs complained about these fake numbers and it was stopped. Let’s hope the European Parliament will take similar steps.

The MEK are expert at manipulation and misuse of democratic institutions – both the systems themselves – writing self-promoting statements and then faking signatories – and by using intimidation against persons inside the parliament. Corruption is wormed into parliament along with every MEK visit.

The MEK’s agenda is not unknown. The group advocate violent regime change against Iran. What is not so obvious is how they are able to infect parliamentary work with this agenda. This statement is a typical example. Their supporter Gérard Deprez has used his own website to announce the seemingly popular statement. It is then fed through various outlets, from MEK supporters to EUReporter until it takes on the appearance of genuine news. If we dig a little deeper into EUReporter’s Sponsored Posts though we find many paid for articles promoting the MEK. (For those who don’t know, the MEK uses a front, ‘the National Council of Resistance of Iran’ to disguise its activities. It’s just names.)

Still, it’s worth looking a little more carefully at the timing of this statement, a week before a ‘grand gathering in Paris calling for regime change in Iran’. It might have something to do with the usual list of paid speakers who are willing to turn out to such a controversial (advocating violent regime change on French soil) event. Past speakers include John Bolton, Rudi Giuliani and Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud . No Iranians. Even the audience, far from being “tens of thousands of Iranian expatriates” is largely made up of non-Iranians offered a cheap trip to Paris on condition of attending the event; refugees, students, even actors. (It’s worth querying Deprez’s veracity as a purveyor of news since he also claims that 100,000 people will fit into Villepinte for the rally.)

FM spokesman deemed the measure as an attempt to influence process of engagement, cooperation and growing relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and European countries, which has had very constructive and positive effects in all areas for the parties.

Ghasemi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, condemning such psychological and promotional tactics, believes in a constructive interaction based on respect for the European Union in all areas of interest to the parties, including issues such as how to expand bilateral cooperation on environmental issues, counter-narcotics, counter-terrorism, human trafficking and organized crime, human rights and other issues affecting the international community.

“We believe that issuing such unfounded statements undermines the status and dignity of the European Parliament and expect MEPs to exercise necessary sensitivity against these measures with careful scrutiny and take action against designers and perpetrators of the recent statement,” he underscored.

He went on the note that, without a doubt, any attempt to bring specific values of a country or region to other societies with different cultures, customs and traditions is an effort to revert to old and outdated paradigms in international relations. We regard such claims based on deception as inappropriate and unconscious assumptions without any credibility or value.

At the end of his remarks, Bahram Ghasemi, emphasized determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to combat the terrible phenomenon of terrorism adding “Iran has spared no effort in eliminating roots of terrorism, insecurity and instability in the region, and has fought the ugly scourge with all strength and power; as such, effective actions of armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially those by IRGC, will continue unabatedly by fighting against Takfiri and terrorist movements of the region, regardless of the rumors created by supporters of terrorists’ crimes.”

Tehran Was Always America’s And Thus The Islamic State’s Final Destination

Several were left dead and many more injured after coordinated terror attacks on Iran’s capital of Tehran. Shootings and bombings targeted Iran’s parliament and the tomb of Ayatollah Khomeini.

According to Reuters, the so-called “Islamic State” claimed responsibility for the attack, which unfolded just days after another terror attack unfolded in London. The Islamic State also reportedly took responsibility for the violence in London, despite evidence emerging that the three suspects involved were long known to British security and intelligence agencies and were simply allowed to plot and carry out their attacks.

It is much less likely that Tehran’s government coddled terrorists – as it has been engaged for years in fighting terrorism both on its borders and in Syria amid a vicious six-year war fueled by US, European, and Persian Gulf weapons, cash, and fighters..

Armed Violence Targeting Tehran Was the Stated Goal of US Policymakers

The recent terrorist attacks in Tehran are the literal manifestation of US foreign policy. The creation of a proxy force with which to fight Iran and establishing a safe haven for it beyond Iran’s borders have been long-stated US policy. The current chaos consuming Syria and Iraq – and to a lesser extent in southeast Turkey – is a direct result of the US attempting to secure a base of operations to launch a proxy war directly against Iran.

In the 2009 Brookings Institution document titled, “Which Path to Persia? Options for a New American Strategy toward Iran,” the use of then US State Department-listed foreign terrorist organization Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK) as a proxy for instigating a full-fledged armed insurgency not unlike that which is currently unfolding in Syria was discussed in detail.

The report explicitly stated:

The United states could also attempt to promote external Iranian opposition groups, providing them with the support to turn themselves into full-fledged insurgencies and even helping them militarily defeat the forces of the clerical regime. The United states could work with groups like the Iraq-based National council of resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its military wing, the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MeK), helping the thousands of its members who, under Saddam Husayn’s regime, were armed and had conducted guerrilla and terrorist operations against the clerical regime. although the NCRI is supposedly disarmed today, that could quickly be changed.

Brookings policymakers admitted throughout the report that MEK was responsible for killing both American and Iranian military personnel, politicians, and civilians in what was clear-cut terrorism. Despite this, and admissions that MEK remained indisputably a terrorist organization, recommendations were made to de-list it from the US State Department’s Foreign Terrorist Organization registry so that more overt support could be provided to the group for armed regime change.

Based on such recommendations and intensive lobbying, the US State Department would eventually de-list MEK in 2012 and the group would receive significant backing from the US openly. This included support from many members of current US President Donald Trump’s campaign team – including Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, and John Bolton.

However, despite these efforts, MEK was not capable then or now of accomplishing the lofty goal of instigating full-fledged insurrection against Tehran, necessitating the use of other armed groups. The 2009 Brookings paper made mention of other candidates under a section titled, “Potential Ethnic Proxies,” identifying Arab and Kurdish groups as well as possible candidates for a US proxy war against Tehran.

Under a section titled, “Finding a Conduit and Safe Haven,” Brookings notes:

Of equal importance (and potential difficulty) will be finding a neighboring country willing to serve as the conduit for U.S. aid to the insurgent group, as well as to provide a safe haven where the group can train, plan, organize, heal, and resupply.

For the US proxy war on Syria, Turkey and Jordan fulfill this role. For Iran, it is clear that US efforts would have to focus on establishing conduits and safe havens from Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province and from Kurdish-dominated regions in northern Iraq, eastern Syria, and southeastern Turkey – precisely where current upheaval is being fueled by US intervention both overtly and covertly.

Brookings noted in 2009 that:

It would be difficult to find or build an insurgency with a high likelihood of success. The existing candidates are weak and divided, and the Iranian regime is very strong relative to the potential internal and external challengers.

A group not mentioned by Brookings in 2009, but that exists in the very region the US seeks to create a conduit and safe haven for a proxy war with Iran, is the Islamic State. Despite claims that it is an independent terrorist organization propelled by black market oil sales, ransoms, and local taxes, its fighting capacity, logistical networks, and operational reach demonstrates vast state sponsorship.

The Ultimate Proxy, the Perfect Conduit and Safe Haven

The Islamic State reaching into Iran, southern Russia, and even as far as western China was not only possible, it was inevitable and the logical progression of US policy as stated by Brookings in 2009 and verifiably executed since then.

The Islamic State represents the perfect “proxy,” occupying the ideal conduit and safe haven for executing America’s proxy war against Iran and beyond. Surrounding the Islamic State’s holdings are US military bases, including those illegally constructed in eastern Syria. Were the US to wage war against Iran in the near future, it is likely these assets would all “coincidentally” coordinate against Tehran just as they are now being “coincidentally” coordinated against Damascus.

The use of terrorism, extremists, and proxies in executing US foreign policy, and the use of extremists observing the Islamic State and Al Qaeda’s brand of indoctrination was demonstrated definitively during the 1980s when the US with the assistance of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan – used Al Qaeda to expel Soviet forces from Afghanistan. This example is in fact mentioned explicitly by Brookings policymakers as a template for creating a new proxy war – this time against Iran.

For the US, there is no better stand-in for Al Qaeda than its successor the Islamic State. US policymakers have demonstrated a desire to use known terrorist organizations to wage proxy war against targeted nation-states, has previously done so in Afghanistan, and has clearly organized the geopolitical game board on all sides of Iran to facilitate its agenda laid out in 2009. With terrorists now killing people in Tehran, it is simply verification that this agenda is advancing onward.

Iran’s involvement in the Syrian conflict illustrates that Tehran is well aware of this conspiracy and is actively defending against it both within and beyond its borders. Russia is likewise an ultimate target of the proxy war in Syria and is likewise involved in resolving it in favor of stopping it there before it goes further.

China’s small but expanding role in the conflict is linked directly to the inevitability of this instability spreading to its western Xianjiang province.

While terrorism in Europe, including the recent London attack, is held up as proof that the West is “also” being targeted by the Islamic State, evidence suggests otherwise. The attacks are more likely an exercise in producing plausible deniability.

In reality, the Islamic State – like Al Qaeda before it – depends on vast, multinational state sponsorship – state sponsorship the US, Europe, and its regional allies in the Persian Gulf are providing. It is also sponsorship they can – at anytime of their choosing – expose and end. They simply choose not to in pursuit of regional and global hegemony.

The 2009 Brookings paper is a signed and dated confession of the West’s proclivity toward using terrorism as a geopolitical tool. While Western headlines insist that nations like Iran, Russia, and China jeopardize global stability, it is clear that they themselves do so in pursuit of global hegemony.

We learned that you, prominent US politicians, have been invited by Maryam Rajavi to participate in the Mojahedin-e Khalq’s gatherings in Tirana, Albania on different occasions.

But we, the suffering families of the members of the MEK in Albania, are deprived of any contact with our loved ones. You are supporting an organization whose members do not have the right to any contact with the outside world, in particular their families.

The MEK is a destructive mind control cult which utilizes mind manipulation techniques to control its followers, and like any other cult, is strongly against any family relations. Behind the apparent democratic face of the cult, there is a notorious thought control system which denies the most basic human rights to members.

We urge you to ask the organization that you support to allow its members to benefit from the minimum right of contact with their families, many of whom have had no news from their loved ones for more than 30 years.

US Media & The Terrorists Who Cried Wolf

Right-wing, anti-Iranian figures and media in the United States have begun circulating claims that Iran had violated the JCPOA that resulted from the P5+1 nuclear negotiations, and indeed has a nuclear weapons program. Various pro-Israeli and anti-Iranian voices in the US echoed this claim. Mark Toner was even asked about the allegations during a press briefing in April. The source for this allegation was the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a front group for the Mujahadeen E-Khalq (People’s Holy Warriors). Putting aside the group’s shady history, terrorism, and bizarre cultish practices, the claims should have immediately been discredited. Why? These exact same forces were caught lying back in 2015, with similar claims. In 2015, as the nuclear negotiations were nearing their completion, the NCIR published photos of a safe, claiming it was in Iran and contained materials related to a secret nuclear weapons program. The photo the NCIR released was proven to have been taken from a French website selling safes. The group was caught in an obvious lie.

Iran’s nuclear energy program has never been proven to have any military uses. The International Atomic Energy Agency has watched over all of Iran’s nuclear activities, and following the negotiations in 2015, almost all of the peaceful nuclear energy program has been shut down.

A Bizarre “Islamo-Marxist” Terrorist Cult

The 2015 photo flub was not the first time the MEK has been caught lying about Iran. Over the last ten years they have continued to make claims that they have proof of an Iranian nuclear weapons program. None of their claims have ever been verified. MEK did, however, cooperate with Israel’s Mossad to assassinate peaceful nuclear scientists teaching at Iranian Universities. Who is the source of all these fraudulent claims that continue to be treated with credibility in the US media? So, who is the MEK?The Mujahadeen E-Khalq is a religious/political cult formed in Iran during the 1970s. At the time Iran was led by a US backed dictator, the Shah. While various groups organized resistance to the Shah in the form of guerrilla warfare, strikes, and protests, the MEK conducted adventurist acts of violence and terrorism. In addition to Iranians, Americans were also victims of MEK’s terrorism prior to the Iranian revolution of 1979.

The Mujahadeen E-Khalq calls its belief system “Islamo-Marxism.” The founder, Masoud Rajavi, claims to be a prophet brought to earth by God in order to usher in some kind of Islamic Communist revolution. MEK’s beliefs could almost be described as an Islamic version of Reverend Jim Jones “People’s Temple,” which reached its peak during the same time period. Like Rajavi, Jones also claimed to be some kind of prophet who could spiritually combine the world’s religions with soviet-style Marxism in order to foment global revolution. Also like the People’s Temple, many people have died as a result of Rajavi’s fanatical and violent organization.

A History of Terrorism & War Crimes

After Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, the MEK (also called People’s Mujaheddin) briefly aligned with [Ayatollah] Khomeini, hoping they could influence the Iranian revolution from within. After one of their allied clerics was deposed, the MEK launched a bombing campaign against the Islamic Republic. In 1981, the MEK bombed a meeting of Iran’s Islamic Republican Party, killing 72 people.

During the Iraq-Iran war, Saddam Hussein began funding and arming the MEK. The MEK formed an armed body called the Iranian National Liberation Army. In 1988, MEK fighters were airdropped into Iran by Iraqi aircraft. Its members proceeded to raze villages, slaughtering, men, women, and children, before ultimately being defeated by the Iranian military. It is estimated that tens of thousands of civilians were killed by MEK fighters during the Iraq-Iran war.

After the war, MEK set-up shop in Iraq, being coddled by Saddam Hussein’s government. Hussein used the MEK as shock troops to suppress the Kurds and other uprisings against him during the 1990s.

MEK is now headquartered in France, with Maryam Rajavi, the wife of the cult’s founder, claiming to be Iran’s President in exile. During the 1990s, the cult ordered all members to divorce their spouses, as marriage was considered a distraction from achieving the cult’s goal of toppling the Iranian government. MEK’s base of operation, Camp Ashraf in Iraq, has been operated as a kind of mini-police state. According to Human Rights Watch, within Camp Ashraf, the death penalty and torture is frequently used against residents. Reports described individuals being dragged by ropes around their necks, among other routine atrocities.

The Spirit of the Agreement

Throughout his presidency, the Tea Party and Republicans frequently accused Barack Obama of being a “Muslim” and a “Communist.” Ironically, however, the Mujahadeen E-Khalq is a favored group of the Republican Party, despite being self-described as “Islamo-Marxists.”With the support of Hillary Clinton, the MEK was removed from the list of designated foreign terrorist organization in 2012 by the US State Department. The decision was based on claims that MEK had “renounced violence.” However, at the very time the process of delisting was in the works, MEK assassinated Iranian Nuclear Scientists.The fact that the group was caught intentionally using a fake photograph against Iran in 2015, in addition to all of its terrorism and war crimes, should discredit its recent statements about Iran in the US media. However, despite their previous lies and horrendous record, certain US media outfits remain so biased and hostile to Iran, that they still repeat their claims.

While no evidence exists that Iran has violated the JCPOA, Donald Trump recently stated to the press that Iran had violated “the spirit of the agreement.” How does one define “the spirit?” Will Iran be punished for such a subjective crime, despite fulfilling all of its written obligations? Only time will tell.

In an interview with Balkans Post, former US Army officer Joachim Hagopian said US Senator John McCain is using MEK, a terrorist cult, as his proxy war ally in the US covert war against the current Islamic Republic of Iran government.

What’s your take on the recent meeting between Senator McCain and the head of the MEK, an anti-Iran terrorist group?

Joachim Hagopian: John McCain has been caught regularly meeting with various terrorist groups for a number of years now. So this is really nothing new. The warmongering US traitor represents the military industrial complex and central bankers that both manufacture and profit most from war. McCain has proven to be a compromised politician owned and controlled by Israel through both bribery and threat of blackmail. According to former CIA officer Robert David Steele, an FBI insider as well as a Homeland Security insider, McCain is among current high profile politicians on an FBI pedophile list. This helps explain why McCain so vociferously promotes war against Russia, Syria and Iran and protects and supports terrorist groups like ISIS that he helped create.

Regarding McCain’s shady history with the MEK, despite the MEK being a Marxist jihadist terrorist cult that for decades was listed by the US State Department as a terrorist group, having assassinated US military officers and other American personnel in the pre-Islamic Revolution 1970’s, McCain was bribed by MEK into lobbying Hillary Clinton’s State Department in 2012 to remove MEK from the terrorist list. In the same way that McCain has met with leaders of ISIS as the secret US proxy war mercenary ally fighting against Assad, Putin and Iran in Syria, McCain’s mid-April visit to Albania to tout MEK as heroic freedom fighters, McCain is using MEK as his proxy war ally in the US covert war against the current Islamic Republic of Iran government. MacCain is nothing more than a controlled tool for the Greater Israel Project.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said the meeting came of no surprise to him “since the US has supported various terrorist groups in recent decades.” Why does Washington support such groups?

Joachim Hagopian: The foreign ministry spokesman is absolutely correct. For nearly four decades the CIA led by the likes of such NWO globalists as George H.W. Bush and Zbigniew Brzezinski has been creating, training, arming, financing and supplying terrorists throughout the Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, beginning with the mujahidin in the late 1970’s fighting against the Soviet Army in the “graveyard of empires” Afghanistan. This operation morphed into the creation of Osama bin Laden’s rise to power and his so called al Qaeda terrorists. Bush senior and Bill Clinton redeployed al Qaeda as covert US proxy war allies to help balkanize Yugoslavia into a half dozen broken pieces for US imperialism, exploitation and control. And then of course “redeployed” them (in name and blame game only) in the Cheney-Bush Jr’s neocon-Israeli-Saudi false flag operation 9/11. Once again al Qaeda resurfaced as the war on terror enemy in Iraq and then with another name change as ISIS mercenary allies in both Syria and Iraq. Terrorist-R-US with support from Israel, Saudi Arabia (where the Wahhabi brand of terrorism originates), the smaller Gulf State monarchies, Turkey, and NATO-EU.

You can’t have the neocons’ “endless war on terror” without terrorists. And since the neocons’ pre-9/11 “seven nations in 5 years” regime change list has Syria and Iran still marked as unfinished business. The US and EU had listed the MEK as a terrorist group, but later, it was removed from the lists. What does that tell us?

Joachim Hagopian: It tells us that MEK is being used as an Israel-US Empire pawn in the global chessboard game of hegemonic dominance and control, like ISIS and al Qaeda as a proxy war ally in the not-so-covert war against Iran and its allies Russia and Syria. Again, Terrorism-R-US.

Many US politicians have received money from the MEK in exchange for publicly expressing their support for the terrorist group. How would this impact Washington’s policies towards Tehran?

Joachim Hagopian: Aside from McCain, the list of bribed fellow US politicians is long, including Elaine Chao, Trump’s current Transportation Secretary (and wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell) who was paid $50,000 for a 5-minute speech, Trump advisor-ally former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, neocon warmonger and unofficial Trump advisor John Bolton, former House Speaker and Trump advisor Newt Gingrich, former Energy Secretary Bill Richardson, and former US Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. All this tell us is that way too many US politicians are up for sale to the highest bidder.

The impact is clear, it reinforces the ammo that’s been used against Iran ever since the 1979 Revolution. Be it through economic sanctions, warmongering threats, jingoistic rhetoric or weaponized propaganda, the crime cabal in Washington has been at war with Iran for nearly four decades, and as a strong ally of Russia and China as well as Syria, Tehran will only continue to be targeted in the Empire crosshairs.

According to Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, MEK members were trained in the United States from 2005 to 2009 under former President George W. Bush. Do you regard this as a serious threat to Iran?

Joachim Hagopian: Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, out of the 17,000 Iranians that have died from terrorist assaults, 12,000 are believed to have been committed by the MEK. And with the longtime support of US Empire and its brutal slaughter of 4 million Muslims and 30 million more humans around the globe since World War II, yes I would say that MEK poses a serious threat to Iran. Any independent nation not under US direct control is deemed an enemy inside the warped unipolar world of the neocons in charge of US foreign policy for over two decades.

MEK, the US’s proxy war ally!

Former US Army officer Joachim Hagopian said US Senator John McCain is using MEK, a terrorist cult, as his proxy war ally in the US covert war against the current Islamic Republic of Iran government.

Joachim Hagopian who is a West Point graduate and former US Army officer is also a regular contributor to Global Research, Sott.net and LewRockwell.com. In an interview with Balkans Post, he was asked about the meeting that former Arizona Senator John McCain had last month with the leader of the terrorist group Mujahedeen Khalq Organization (the MKO/ MEK/ the Cult of Rajavi).

Hagopian is a critic of the US war mongers’ campaign. He has so far published several articles on the US-backed terrorists in the Middle East. He suggests that the MKO are “the same terrorists that killed American military and civilian personnel in pre-revolution Iran” while it is “touted by the warmongering McCain as courageous freedom fighters.”

This is not the first time that Hagopian slams McCain for his support for terrorists and his hawkish hunger for war. Back in December 2015 he published a post on Global Research where he denounced John Mccain and Lindsey Graham –another MKO sponsor—for their push for more aggression in the Middle East. “Fast forward to four decades and three war defeats later, and our government is still sending Americans off to fight and die in Afghanistan (9800 currently) and Iraq (3500 with another 100 on the way), and now in Syria (50 just proposed with more on the way while war-hawk Bobbsy twins McCain and Graham are calling for 20,000 more troops in Syria),” he wrote. “But this century’s wars we keep hearing red, white and blue, flag waving Americans urging us to “support our troops.”

Besides, it was on March 2017 that the US veteran accused McCain for accepting bribe from another state sponsor of the MKO terrorists, Saudi Arabia. “A year ago McCain was also caught accepting a one million dollar bribe from the House of Sin, I mean Saud, the world’s biggest financier of the world’s biggest terrorist group that the chicken hawk’s been in bed with for years,” stated Hagopian in LewRockwell.com.

According to Hagopian, in his recent interview he condemns the US’s bullying plan to dominate the world. “It’s an outrage that this treasonous senator makes trips to Albania to pay homage to terrorists and accepts awards from terrorist leaders, groups this traitor’s been in bed with, meeting on a regular basis with America’s so called enemy”, he asserts. “This Iranian terrorist group MEK has murdered 12,000 fellow Iranian citizens out of the total 17,000 who’ve been victims of terrorism. Like George Soros, McCain is all about war, protecting terrorists and regime change of any nation refusing to succumb to US hegemonic dominance and control, and obviously since 1979 Iran has been in the Empire crosshairs.”

He believes that McCain’s bedfellows including MEK, ISIS, Zionists, AIPAC and Saudi Arabia cannot save his warmonger campaign even if their blackmails mounts to millions of dollars.

Iranian anti-terror activists slam US support for MKO

A group of Iranian anti-terrorism activists have slammed some US officials’ support for the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).

At a meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Giulio Haas, who represents the US interests in Tehran, a group of representatives of the Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism (ADVT) presented an account of how their loved ones had been killed in different terror incidents in Iran, particularly the terror operations conducted by the MKO.

“All the families of the victims of terrorism are shocked by how [US] senators and officials are linked with and support the MKO leaders and consider it as a blatant support for terrorism in the international arena,” an ADVT member said at the meeting.

Another activist underlined the important role of international organizations in alleviating the problems of the victims of terror and stressed that the issue should turn into a matter of grave concern for the global community.

The Swiss envoy, for his part, expressed sympathy with the victims of terrorism and noted that he will convey their message to the US officials.

The MKO, the most hated terrorist group among the Iranians, has carried out numerous terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials over the past three decades.

Out of the nearly 17,000 Iranians killed in terrorist assaults since the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, about 12,000 have fallen victim to MKO’s acts of terror.

The terrorist group also sided with the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during Iraq’s eight-year imposed war against Iran in the 1980s. The group also helped Saddam in his brutal crackdown on his opponents.
