MKO Cult: New phase of Ideological revolution is on the way

Ebrahim Khodabandeh has published a series of articles in which he reveals what MEK insiders divulge to him about what is happening inside the cult.

In part 8 of the ongoing articles Khodabandeh says this coming week marks the 50th anniversary of the MEK and Massoud Rajavi is on overdrive to spend money to uphold the past (nobody in the MEK still thinks they are continuing the original path of ant-Imperialism).

Rajavi will shortly announce who he has appointed as the new MEK leader and will start a new series of Ideological Revolution sessions.

According to people inside the MEK, this is his last effort to keep it together and stop it disintegrating. The reason is that nobody believes in it anymore and the MEK is falling apart.

The most common doubts and questions which are being raised, and are being suppressed through physical and mental means, are:

– Rajavi always said after Maliki we will move back to Camp Ashraf, but everyone sees that even Camp Liberty is being closed and everyone is being moved to Albania.

– Second, how long does a man live that he is in hiding for 12 years? What’s the point of him?

– Third the NLA and military capability is finished, so what happened to the armed struggle which Rajavi still insists we must believe in? How does that work?

– There are many question about the recent nuclear deal and the fate of Camp Maryam in France as the French are saying more and more clearly that the MEK are no longer – have never been – welcome there.

– There is a huge amount of questioning and uncertainty about the fate of the people in Albania. There is clearly no plan. What is Rajavi’s strategy or tactic for them?

– The main question which frightens the MEK more than any other and which is gaining momentum is, ‘Can anyone give an example of the MEK doing anything for themselves, any independent action or strategy it has followed that has not been dictated by Saddam Hussein, America, Israel or Saudi Arabia?’

Victims of the MKO Need Help

Mostafa was visiting the headquarters of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO) in Auvers sur d’Oise, Paris when he was beaten up by some of the thugs of the group. He was violently encountered because he was asking the group leader to allow him to meet with his daughter Somayeh. After travelling to the group’s camp in Iraq for several times, Mostafa, finally took his case to the group leader, Maryam Rajavi. Due to severe beating Mostafa was hospitalized overnight. He was accompanied with his other daughter Hooriyeh who was also injured by the MKO agents in Auver.

Somayeh is an example of many people captured in the cult of Rajavi (the MKO), separated from family, friends and society. “Family Survival Trust” that is a foundation formed by volunteers who are concerned for people, families, communities and societies who are abused by totalitarian cults. Some of the members of this foundation are volunteers whose children, parents, siblings, friends or colleagues were recruited by cults. Their task is very similar to ours at Nejat NGO that is specifically focused on the salvation of the victims of the MKO cult.

This article refers to Family Survival Trust as a reliable and informed source on the cults since they professionally deal with a large number of case studies being abused by different cults. FST’s website proposes, “What damaging cults have in common is their vindictive abusiveness and their dissociative totalitarianism”.

The above mentioned fact about destructive cults is definitely witnessed by a large number of members of the MKO (the Cult of Rajavi).

Ghorban Ali Hossein Nezhad is a former high-ranking member and interpreter of the group. He also has a daughter taken as a hostage in the MKO’s Camp Liberty, Iraq. As a disassociated member, he is not allowed to meet with his daughter Zeinab by the group leaders. “Cults are dissociative, separating members from families, friends and colleagues,” FST proposes.

The horrifying events that are happening inside the cults are the main reasons that the cults’ leaders are able to keep members out of reach for a long time. Ebrahim Khodabande, a former member of the MKO and cult expert describes how a cult victim is indoctrinated by the cult system:

“Cults have no unchangeable principal; they have only one fixed principal and that is: Everything must go around the leader’s interests and will. Maryam Rajavi told us:” You are not good enough unless you recognize Massoud’s interests and will and then you try to fulfill them”.

According to FST, Cults recruit members by various forms of enticement or deception, demanding total submission and adoption of the ideas by members. Free thinking is not allowed.

Khodabandeh’s testimony absolutely confirms the above characteristics of cults: “In cults, lying and deceiving is formulated and indoctrinated by the system. Everything is based on lie and deception. The hierarchy tells lies from top to bottom.”

He admits that he was deceived and then was recruited by the MKO. ”Then I was brainwashed under the mind-control system and I was manipulated to tell lies about the group’s cause as if it was a secular pro-western organization,” he says.

The MKO’s pro-West and pro-democracy gesture has an external function for the leaders. This way they can gain the support of western politicians, particularly Zionist warmongers of the US Congress. ”At the same time, to gain acceptance from wider society, cults lobby politicians and the public, using the same ideas of freedom of expression which they deny their members,” FST states.

In contrast with the MKO’s slogans for human rights and democracy, the Human Rights Watch report titled “No Exit” offers testimonies of numerous cases of human rights violations committed in the Cult of Rajavi. Besides, there are a lot more interviews and memoires of ex-members of the group who were victims of its cult-like structure (most of them are available at Nejat NGO website).

“Cults tend to be psychologically manipulative or abusive in order to exploit and control members commercially or sexually,” according to the FST’s description of cults. ”Some cults can also be physically abusive”. The No Exit report confirms that members of the Cult of Rajavi are mentally and physically tortured and at least in one case a man named Parvis Ahmadi was killed under torture in the group’s jail in Camp Ashraf. Parvis’s case was approved by some other defectors of the group.

Furthermore, as FST proposes, cults are abundant and deceptive and the reason for concern is clear. “The separation from loved ones, whose personalities may become unrecognisable after cultic recruitment, causes a great deal of grief and upset to families and friends,” the website says. “Seeing changes in, or hearing of the abuse suffered by, cult victims – or sometimes having to deal with an individual’s disappearance – can cause a great deal of stress, anger and upset in the home.”

The common grief of the two fathers Hossein nezhad and Mohhammadi made them to take an action near the MKO’s headquarters in Auver Sur D’Oise, Paris. They tried to inform citizens of Auver Sur d’Oise about the violent, cult-like nature of the MKO. They distributed flyers, brochure, images and CDs to inform the citizens that the cult has kidnapped their daughters.

Khodabandeh believes that it is essential for the family of the victims to be involved in order to speed up the process of liberation. He suggests that the salvation of the MKO hostages is possible if they are supported from outside of the cult, such as the family members and other philanthropists. “That’s why the cult leaders forbid and control any contact with families,” he says. All cult victims need help, no matter how they have been involved or harmed, according to FST.

They are quite controversial, and many documentaries and news sources describe this group as a cult, not just a militant political group. It also says it wants secularism, even though all its female members are forced to wear hejabs.

If you know the group well, do you think they would truly uphold democracy if succeeding in taking power in Iran, or would they attack and kill everyone with opposing viewpoints? Is this another of these types of groups that would make a country resemble North Korea if given power? What explains all the female members having to wear hejabs, including its leader Maryam Rajavi?

They helped Saddam Hussein, during the Iran-Iraq war, specifically providing information for the locations that Saddam used chemical weapons on. They then attacked Iran themselves, and lost.

They buy politicians in the west with HUGE sums of money that they force their members to pay. They collect homeless (by offering food) at their annual gatherings in NYC to aggrandize their perceived support.

Every member follows the instructions to the dot, without questioning. Those who don’t are bullied and abused, if not tortured. Those who escape the camps are never safe. They take orphan children to their camps and brain-wash them to use them as fighters. They refuse to leave their military camps in Iraq, because they want to keep the environment for their fighters isolated from reality.

Their ideology is communism and Islam tied together with a military flavor. Their game-plan is to overtake the government by military force, and their claim is that they will rule ‘only for 6 months’ to stabilize things, and then they would be open to elections (saying this to get sympathy from the west). No s***, why not just have an election to begin with? Because they won’t plan on leaving power.

If they were to rule Iran, the officials will look like this:

Islamic laws would be interpreted and executed as the leader wished, much less collectively than in the Islamic republic. The communistic side means a huge, dictatorial style government. A huge blood bath, from every "traitor’s" blood.

The current half-democracy will turn into absolute tyranny. People will run for their lives and try to escape to other countries. Some areas will attempt to declare independence.

Iran-Zanan representatives meet Christian Democratic Union member

On Monday 6th July, 2015 members of Iran-Zanan [Women’s] Association met Ms. Julia Klöckner; the German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany or CDU.

Ms. Batul Soltani and Ms. Homeyra Mohammadnejad from Iran-Zanan association met Ms. Klockner in the “Landtag” building.

Iran-Zanan representatives cautioned on the expansion of the MKO Cult in the European countries. As former members of the MKO cult who experienced the manipulation techniques of the group, they called on the European states to bound the activities of the destructive cult of Mujahdin-e- Khalq members on their soil and prevent the group’s cultic practices. They also asked the countries to help former members of the Cult.

Representatives of the Iran-Zanan Association warned on the group’s efforts to establish and expand bases in Albania which would be completely under the control of the MO Cult leaders, spending huge amounts of money. They notified that they have informed the Albanian officials at the countries’ embassy in Germany.

They defined the cult-like techniques of the group in tricking individuals living in refugee camps into joining the group.

Iran-Zanan representatives also mentioned some manipulative techniques of the MKO Cult such as systematic self-immolations under the order of cult leaders, having no access to the outside world:” The members have no access to radio, TV and newspapers other than what is fed them”, having no family relationships and refuting the dissatisfied members to leave the cult.

They also mentioned the inhumane efforts of the MKO cult towards the disassociated members in order to silence them and prevent them from exposing the cult.

The Iran-Zanan association also referred to the group leader’s intrinsic belief in armed struggle.

MEK, Inside Out

A short brief on the Mojahedin-e Khalq

The Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, MKO, PMOI, NCR, NCRI, NLA, and many other disguised entities) was established in 1965 as an urban guerilla movement to fight against the Shah and seize power in Iran through armed struggle.

It pitched its appeal to attract leftist, Islamist and anti-imperialist forces at the time and killed US citizens in Iran as well as many of the Shah’s officials. Assassination was, and remains, central to the strategic modus operandi of the organization.

After the Iranian revolution in 1979, the MEK opposed the newly established Islamic Republic of Iran and assassinated many officials as well as thousands of ordinary people through bombings.

The leader Massoud Rajavi fled to France in 1981, then in 1986 moved to Iraq by invitation of Saddam Hussein where he founded the National Liberation Army as an adjunct to the Iraqi army and entered the Iran-Iraq war on the side of the enemy.

Massoud Rajavi became a cult leader and used mind manipulation methods to brainwash his followers in order to control their thoughts and beliefs and to command their total, unquestioning obedience. Compulsory divorces and celibacy, and the separation of children from their parents were imposed by the cult leader on every member. Members were isolated from the outside world and had no contact whatsoever even with their families.

After the fall of Saddam Hussein and the invasion of Iraq by the allied forces, the situation of the MEK dramatically changed. Massoud Rajavi, who lost his only state support, went into hiding and Maryam Rajavi moved to Paris. The organization then adopted pro-western gestures and falsely pretended to have distanced from its past terrorist activities.

On 17 June 2003, Maryam Rajavi was arrested along some 120 individuals in her base in Paris by the French police charged with fraud, money laundry, and plotting violent activities against opponents and former members.

As a result the cult ordered several members to commit self-immolation to protest against this action by the French authorities. Ten individuals in ten different European cities simultaneously set fire to themselves. Two died and the others were severely injured. This was considered as the most obvious sign of thought control imposed by the MEK on the members. A person who obeys an order for self-immolation is certainly capable of performing suicide attacks on others too.

The organization has absolutely no popular support in Iran since it committed the most public act of betrayal; cooperating with the enemy at war against the homeland. The MEK leaders are aware of this fact more than anyone else.

At the present time the organization is striving to find an alternative for the deposed Saddam Hussein, this time in the west, since it has lost its hope to gain any backing inside Iran. They are making contact with all and any enemies of Iran, including terrorist entities such as ISIL.

The MEK is currently re-creating its Iraqi terrorist bases in Albania with property and facilities it has purchased close to Tirana. The Iraqis have always considered them as the worst heritage left by Saddam Hussein for their country and have tried to expel them from their country since the fall of the dictator. The MEK participated in suppressing Iraqis in the past and have caused many national security difficulties for the nation at the present time.

The MEK organized a rally in Villepinte near Paris to promote this new base. Maryam Rajavi’s keynote speech focused on her demand that the group be re-armed. This can only be interpreted as the MEK’s intention to construct a militarized base in Europe from which to train terrorists to attack Iran or elsewhere. The occasion which is being celebrated by the MEK is the anniversary of the start of armed struggle on June 20, 1981.

Western government experts are fully aware of the activities and beliefs of the MEK. One can, of course, refer to the US Department of State or the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office for further clarification.

The MEK uses deceptive methods to influence general political opinion and individuals in the west, and do not say who they really are when they approach people to gain their support.

Mostafa Mohammadi’s legal request met by MKO violence in a French suburb

Mostafa Mohammadi has been trying to meet with his long lost daughter Somayeh for many years now. He has travelled to Iraq on several occasions only to be turned away by the cruel cult which holds his daughter hostage. Now Mostafa has taken his cause right to the door of the cult’s headquarters in France.

On Friday 12 June 2015, Mostafa visited Maryam Rajavi’s residence in Auvers sur Oise, the terrorist cult’s secretive enclave just outside Paris. He was accompanied by his other daughter Hooriyeh. Mostafa had been advised by his lawyer, who accompanied them on the visit, to make one last legally documented request directly to the leader of the group which is holding Somayeh. Only then, the lawyer advised, should Mostafa could go ahead with a legal complaint against Maryam Rajavi in France where she resides.

The Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) reaction was shocking. Instead of answering the door and listening to the legal request, and answering either negatively or in the affirmative, the cult leader Maryam Rajavi simply sent out a gang of thugs to beat him up along with Hooriyeh and the lawyer.

Although police intervened to prevent more serious injury an ambulance was called and Mostafa was hospitalised overnight.

Why is it impossible for the MEK leader to refrain from attacking people in a quiet French village where the residents are already sick to death of the group?

Mostafa made it clear that if he had wanted to provoke the group he would not have gone with his French lawyer and daughter, but with a gang of other plaintiffs against the cult – there are many.

But like any cult, the MEK is existentially afraid of the truth and of people exposing its inhuman and illegal activities. Maryam Rajavi would rather her cult be exposed beating up an innocent father in a French suburb than answer to the charges put against her in court of law.

Even worse, if she even hints at compromise with one parent, the whole cult will begin to collapse as members ask ‘why can’t we contact our families too?’

Other awkward questions lie behind this simple one. Such as, ‘why, after thirty years, have we made no progress in our struggle to overthrow the Iranian regime?’ And, ‘where is Massoud Rajavi?’ And, ‘why aren’t the residents of Camp Liberty being transferred to safe countries?’

Mostafa’s struggle to meet his daughter is not isolated. Several families are currently stationed outside Camp Liberty in Iraq making the same demand: we want to meet our loved ones. Perhaps Maryam Rajavi is right to be afraid of them. The MEK’s existence now balances on this confrontation, this battle of wills between loving relatives and the cruel cult leader.

Expert in cultic abuse and terrorism in the MEK speaks in London charity meeting

REPORT – FECRIS Marseille 2015

The FECRIS Conference provides a forum for the world’s leading experts in cultic abuse to meet and talk and to share ideas, knowledge and experiences. The Conference is a safe place for researchers, practitioners, campaigners and support groups to mingle with former cult members and families of people who remain trapped in cultic relationships. The value of this unique forum was acknowledged by the board during the AGM.

After several years as Chairman of FECRIS, Tom Sackville retired and was replaced by Danièle Muller-Tulli. Good wishes to Danièle for success in this important role.

The theme of this year’s Conference which was hosted in Marseille by GEMPPI, was ‘Deliberately Planned and Encouraged Confusion Between Cults and Religion’. Serge Blisko, President of MIVILUDES, presented the opening speech which outlined this subject. He said that the widespread use of exploitative cultic abuse undermines democratic institutions and social functions. Those who employ these methods deflect criticism by claiming that their critics want to deprive them of ‘freedom of belief’ or that they are not accorded proper status as ‘religions’. Blisko also talked about the growing problem of ‘religious’ terrorism and its links to cultic behaviour.

Anne Khodabandeh, representative of The Family Survival Trust, was in a unique position to brief M. Blisko and the audience about this issue. She explained that it is possible to construct a model for describing and analysing the use of cultic abuse by terrorist entities without mentioning religion. Anne then went on to describe the deceptive recruitment and brainwashing methods used by terrorist groups and said that from her fifteen years as an activist in this field she was able to suggest solutions to tackle this phenomenon. This briefing was greeted enthusiastically by M. Blisko and the audience.

There were several informative and interesting talks and also first-hand testimonies. Some stood out as particularly interesting. Pierre Le Coz Director of the Department of Social Science at the Faculty of Medicine, University Aix-Marseilles, gave a fascinating presentation in which he described step by step how individuals can be brought under the influence of a manipulator using specific psychological techniques.

In contrast, Alexey Voat a researcher from Moscow, gave a very pertinent presentation on the Aum Shinriyo cult’s use of the internet for deceptive recruitment. Voat had undertaken to act as a recruit to delve deep inside the cult’s workings. His revelations were instructive for understanding any other cultic recruitment over the internet.

Olivier Faelens, President of SAS Seckten from Belgium, inspired the audience with his advice on how to avoid false arguments presented by groups such as The Church of Scientology, with its continual demands for debate on the subject of whether or not it is a true religion. The real issue, said Faelens, is the internal harmful practices. It is these we must insist on addressing when debating cultic abuse.

Anne Edelstam, journalist, talked about Fundamentalism. She described the history of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and how in spite of the people’s revolution, its creation of alternative social structures dedicated to the reintroduction of fundamentalist strictures on society still have the potential to undermine the country’s democratic processes.

Finally, leading cult expert Janja Lalich explored the struggle for justice in the American legal system. She described several case studies and talked about her own experience as an expert witness and how the cults deliberately exploit ignorance and misconceptions regarding cultic abuse. This talk linked the various issues raised in previous speeches with the subject of the Conference: ‘Deliberately Planned and Encouraged Confusion Between Cults and Religion’.

During the Conference the audience participated with lively and informative questions and discussions at various points in the day. A light lunch was served al Fresco in a convivial atmosphere. The host association GEMPPI is to be congratulated on the success of the Conference. The simultaneous translators are appreciated for their hard work in bringing the full content of the speeches and interjections to all the audience. The new Chair of FECRIS, Danièle Muller-Tulli closed the Conference and thanked the outgoing Chairman Tom Sackville in his absence for all his hard work.

Disputes in the NCRI escalate to a higher extent

Recently I have received many letters and messages from members and supporters of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) and the National Council of Resistance (NCR), in particular from France, Iraq and Albania. These communiations indicate that the long running disputes between the members and the officials inside the Council have escalated to an even greater extent so that this has become the main concern of the leaders.

Apparently when Iraj Mesdaghi issued his first report about the unrealistic policies of the NCRI and directly questioned the cult leader Massoud Rajavi, and consequently Abdol Karim Qasim and Mohammad Reza Rouhani, two prominent members of the NCR, resigned as a sign of protest and revealed many facts about the internal affairs of the Council, and Iraj Mesdaqi wrote his second report on the anniversary of the first one, and then the argument of Esmail Yaghmai with the organization erupted over financial scandals, an unusual atmosphere was created inside the NCR. This resulted in several sessions being held one after another over a short time, even though no session had been held for a long period.

The question “where is Massoud Rajavi?” continuously asked by the members and supporters has really taken the breath of the leaders. Of course the officials have no response to give but to insult and accuse the person asking such a question. The members of the NCR openly say that this a typical trick used by Cult leaders to sanctify themselves.

After all this, the authorities of the NCRI instructed the members to denounce their former colleagues; those who left the Council and criticized its internal undemocratic relations. As a result, articles in this regard were published by the likes of Mansur Qadarkhah and Parviz Khazai and others. But the majority refused to take part and did not accept to betray their old friends and repeat the MKO’s fabricated lies about them. Of course they had their own excuses. Some put it this way, that it would be better that they keep their contact with them in order to keep the way back to the NCR open for them. Some explained that they have family relationships and old friendship so they would be ashamed to turn against them. Some of course being under pressure by the MKO leaders did write something without mentioning any names just to comply with their demands.

Reports indicate that the NCR members openly bring their disputes for discussion to the sessions and complain about the lack of the minimum of democratic rights when decisions are made. The articles that the members write for the websites and publications are edited by NCR officials before being published and sometimes their contents are totally altered.

The NCR members argue that although the MKO members have accepted a super military discipline and they must accept orders without question, this obviously should not be the case for the NCRI members.

The present members of the NCRI discuss the term “national” in the National Council of Resistance and say that this means that the Council must contain all tendencies of the Iranian people, but in reality it only represents the MKO and its policies and ideas and only obeys the instructions of Massoud Rajavi. The same argument is put for the MKO satellite television program which is called “National TV” but only reflects the ideas of the Rajavi cult.

They also argue that the term “council” means that all decisions must be taken collectively after adequate discussion; otherwise it has no difference from the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization. They say that from the beginning it was accepted that the policies of the Council be criticized and opposed by the members, but now anyone doing so is accused of being at the disposal of the Iranian regime. This trick is constantly used to silence the discontented members, though the critics continue with their disputes. In many Western countries the members and supporters of the NCR talk about these issues openly and bluntly.

One other matter the members claim is that in recent years many members left the NCRI but no one was recruited, and all those proposed to become members were opposed by the MKO leaders who hold hegemony over the Council. They ask firstly, why they do not allow more dignitaries and organizations to become members and secondly, why the opinions of the present members, when they are not in agreement with the MKO policies, are immediately ruled out and suppressed.

We can deduct from the letters and messages received from within the NCRI, that we must expect more dispatches from the Council in the near future which will reveal more facts about the undemocratic internal relations of the NCRI.

The cult of Rajavi

The MKO, Fruit of the Tree of Extremism

Today the world is obsessed with the threat of extremism. The menace of the Islamic State terrorists and their affiliates is touched all over the world. However, the international community should not be distracted from other extremists who are manipulating Western politicians under the guise of democracy and modernity.
While the world’s eyes are focused on and rising tensions in the Middle East, a former terrorist group from Iran is tromping through the halls of Congress, and garnering support from some of America’s most powerful and prominent politicians and officials, writes Sean Nevins of Mint Press News in Washington. [1]
In his documented, investigated article Nevins warns that the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO/ Mek) is not actually what it claims to be. He explores “how does a group go from being one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world to having an office on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., with backing from the likes of the former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton and former Director of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, among many others” . Based on documents and reports of the FBI, Human Rights Watch, and the Rand Corporation, Sean Nevins conclude that “not only is it an opposition group to the current Iranian regime, but it is a kind of cult” verifying the reality of the MKO’s anti-American attitudes by the group’s own journals. [2]
This is not the first warning to Western audience on the threat of the MKO cult. Many other journalists, historians, scholars and etc. have so far cautioned about the risks of supporting a group with a dark, violent history of extremist acts and a cult-like nature. The extremism that the world is exposed to by the side of the MKO can be much more destructive than the one from ISIS or AlQaida because the MKO is disguising its cult-like beliefs and policy under pro-democracy and pro-feminism slogans.
The case of the MKO indicates that the roots of extremism are based in cultic manipulation not religious beliefs. Mohammed Jebara who is chief Imam and resident scholar at the Cordova Spiritual Education and writer of books and articles on Islam, suggests that the extremism is originated from cult-like exploitation. “Most cults have two main distinguishing characteristics: A great opposition to critical thinking with an insistence on blindly following a set of dogmatic ideals, all the while giving their followers the false sense of self-determination and free choice,” writes Jebara.”Secondly, isolating their devotees with threats of heavy penalties, including death, for “apostasy” through “deviation” from their “path.” [3]
Jebara describes extremist ideas as “puritanical, self-righteous, judgmental viewpoints” that “always allege to be the ultimate truth’’. He notifies, “The modern extremists are not a new phenomenon, neither to the Islamic world, nor to the world at large. Puritanical sects have existed from ancient times, as fringes, and have even overtaken the mainstream of some world religions.” [4]
“If someone can be induced to believe in irrational, ludicrous and intolerant ideas, they can be led to violently enforce and act upon them, “concludes Imam Mohammad Jebara. His description of cultist extremists perfectly meets the substance of the Cult of Rajavi (the MKO). [5]
The peak of irrational, ludicrous and intolerant ideas was demonstrated in June 2003 after the arrest of the group leader Maryam Rajavi by the French Police. To protest her arrest, a number of her brainwashed followers and sympathizers committed the most irrational act; they set themselves on fire in European cities. Two women burned to death and others were paralyzed.
One of the two dead women was Neda Hassani who was in her 20s when she set herself alight outside French Embassy in London. Neda was a Canadian citizen with links to the MKO. After the arrest of the cult leader, she was indoctrinated to commit self-immolation in order to put pressure of French Police to liberate Maryam Rajavi. [6]
Prior to 2003, suicide operations to target Iranian officials and civilians were also carried out by the group terror teams as well as cross border terror acts against Iran.
Furthermore, as it was mentioned on the top of this post, cult-like treatment of members inside the MKO camps have been reported by several international bodies and investigated reports. Thus, what is crystal clear is that the MKO is not a democratic secular group. It is definitely an extremist cult of personality and is as dangerous as or even more dangerous than ISIS or al Qaida.
