Witnesses To Testify MKO involvement in killing Iraqis

In an interview with Al-Ahali newspaper, Jafar al-Mousawi, the chief prosecutor of Iraq’s high criminal court said: "The court has documents proving the involvement of Mojahedin-e Khalq organization in killing and assassinating 35 Iraqi citizens in southern Iraq in 1991."

"The court has witnesses testifying on the involvement of this organization in killing Iraqi people," he said.

Mousawi added: "Trial of MKO leaders would be held in near future."

He didn’t mention the names of the accused or how they were supposed to be summoned.

Filner revealed in this interview that he has taken a consistent position on the Iraq War since the war started in 2003. The Iraq War is based upon lies. The Iraq War is illegitimate. The presence of an American occupying force provokes most of the violence in Iraq today. 1. Filner is a supporter of the Iranian Communist MEK (MKO, PMOI, NCRI, Rajavi Cult, or Pol Pot of Iran) terrorists at Camp Ashraf, Iraq.

2. Supporters of this communist terrorist organization have committed terrorist acts in many countries, including in America.

3. The MEK has been on the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations since the administration of former President Bill Clinton.

4. In September 2002, the White House’s background paper included the MEK as a pretext for the Iraq War.

5. In January 2003, Filner’s name appeared in a full-page advertisement in the New York Times as a supporter of America’s communist terrorist enemies—the murders of American military officers and Rockwell International employees.

6. In 2003, American and coalition military forces attacked the communist terrorists at Camp Ashraf, Iraq.

7. In June 2003, some members of the Rajavi Cult burned themselves to death to protest the arrest in France of a cult leader, Maryam Rajavi.

Another assassination attempt by Rajavi cult in Paris

Payvand association in a statement today said that two MKO members have attacked Mr. Behzad Alishahi in Rue du Faubourg Poissonniere in Paris on September 24, 2007 around 9:30 am. According to the statement, the attackers were forced to leave the scene when faced by resistance from Mr. Alishahi and people in the street who came to help him. The attackers failed to snatch Mr. Alishahi’s briefcase but vowed to take come back shouting, "we will be back and we will teach you a lesson".

Mr. Alishahi had been a high ranking official of the MKO for two decades. He survived the cult after raising concerns about the violations of human rights inside the MKO. He currently resides in Europe and is an active human rights advocate and critic of Mr. and Mrs. Rajavi, the self-appointed life-time leaders of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization.

This news comes after a series of attacks carried out by the MKO in European cities including the planned semi-military operation carried out by MKO members in Paris in June 2007, which ended in the serious injury of speakers and invitees of a peace conference in FIAP building.

While the Mojahedin Khalq Organization is desperately trying to use deception and propaganda to fight back against the inclusion of the group in the list of terrorist entities in the USA, UK, European Union and Canada, it is widely believed that the escalation of violence seen in the last couple of months is the direct result of the order issued by the cult leader in a statement in which he tells his followers to "eliminate" any voice of criticism against the Mojahedin Khalq Organization.

France to Probe Killing of Iranian

French authorities plan to investigate the 1999 killing of a top Iranian general, which was claimed by an Iranian opposition group based in France, judicial officials said Monday.

Brig. Gen. Ali Sayyad Shirazi, deputy chief of the joint staff command of the Iranian armed forces, was gunned down in April 1999 in front of his home in Tehran by men dressed as city cleaners. The People’s Mujahedeen of Iran claimed responsibility.

The new investigation stems from a complaint Shirazi’s family filed with the French justice system two years ago for "murder and complicity in murder," judicial officials said on condition of anonymity because the case is ongoing.

French judicial authorities say they have the authority to investigate the case because the political wing of the People’s Mujahedeen is based in Auvers-Sur-Oise, north of Paris.

The People’s Mujahedeen, which seeks the overthrow of Iran’s Islamic government, is listed as a terrorist organization by the State Department and the European Union. Former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein let the group operate camps in Iraq from which it staged attacks on Iran.

The group says it is a peaceful movement of exiled Iranian opponents, and that its militants in Iraq have handed their weapons over to U.S.-led forces. A representative did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

France’s justice system has been investigating the People’s Mujahedeen since 2001. In 2003, French police carried out a sweep against the group and dozens of members were arrested, including Maryam Rajavi, the head of the group’s political wing. The operation set off protests, with two Mujahedeen supporters burning themselves to death.

Seventeen people, including Rajavi, were placed under investigation” a step short of being charged” on suspicion of associating with or financing terrorist groups. She was held for about two weeks before being released.

MKO Behind Karbala Massacre?

Confirming a report given to EIR News Service by an Iranian source last week, that the group responsible for violence at the Imam Hussein shrine in Karbala, Iraq on Aug. 28 was the MKO, the Tehran Times has presented information on how the MKO triggered the events. The report, issued today by the Tehran Times Political Desk, says that three months prior to the massacre, "closed-circuit cameras captured a 23-year-old woman and 13-year-old youth who were gathering information about the various entrances to the Imam Hussein (AS) shrine. After their arrest, it became clear that they had been sent by the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) to locate ways to sneak into the shrine for terrorist operations."

The paper describes how the attack was planned. Members of Moqtada Sadr’s Al-Mahdi militia who were trying to enter the shrine, were prevented by security forces. Then, clashes began which led to 52 dead and 300 injured. "At first glance, it seemed to be a clash between rival Shi’a groups seeking to monopolize power, and another indication of the extreme insecurity in Iraq, especially in Shi’a areas," the paper comments. But, this is not the case.

According to witnesses, large amounts of weapons were distributed to people near the al-Sadr group’s position, giving the impression that that group itself had been handing out arms. Among the weapons were some made in Iran–to leave a clear lead. The Iraqi Interior Ministry has conducted investigations into the event, concluding that the MKO was behind the incident.

The MKO is officially on the U.S. terrorist list, but is now being protected by the U.S. occupying forces there. It has been responsible for multiple attacks, including assassinations of leading politicians in Iran over the years. Offers by Iran to exchange al-Qaeda terrorists it holds in prisons, for MKO terrorists, were rejected by the U.S.

11th of September 2001 and the MKO The terrorist disaster of the 11th of September 2001 with no doubt severely shocked the world. This catastrophe certainly became the globe’s deep sorrow at the time. Almost every country and every organisation in the world, regardless of the state of their relationship with the USA, strongly condemned the act. But wouldn’t be astonishing to learn that there was a group which actually celebrated the most brutal terrorist operation in the contemporary history?

“Bagherzadeh”was one the bases of the Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organisation (MKO) in Iraq before the fall of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. This base was normally used for the group gatherings of the MKO members in Iraq – otherwise knows as the National Liberation Army (NLA). The time to time sessions which always had ideological themes were usually held with the presence of the co-leaders of the organisation Mas’ud and Maryam Rajavi. The members used to get together from different bases in Iraq for one week or more to listen to the teachings of the leaders.

When the 11th of September 2001 catastrophe occurred, about 2000 people were assembled in Bagherzadeh Base to attend the general meeting of the NLA and to receive the speeches delivered by the Rajavis. At the very day the loudspeakers throughout the base called everyone to meet in the main hall to become aware of very important and crucial news. After a good number of people were gathered, a video clip containing the news was shown from the widescreens. The news was about how the twin towers were blown up by some fanatic extremist so called Moslems. The video clip was shown over and over for several times and each time it received jubilations from the members and officials of the MKO. The officials were encouraging the others to dance and be cheerful.

The following day a meeting was arranged for Mas’ud and Maryam Rajavi to deliver their speeches to the members and officials. The same clips were shown several times again and each time it received the same jubilations. Mas’ud started speaking about the terrorist incident. He did not condemn the act at all and even virtually accepted that it was an anti-imperialistic move. He claimed that his group is far more superior to the Al-Qaeda and”if they could do such a sophisticated military operation we must be able to do so in a much better manner”. He called the operation the consequence of the US policy and also the exhibition of the power of the ideology of Islam! He declared that”wait and see the fruits of our revolutionary Islam!”

Maryam started her speech next. She clearly stated that the terrorist disaster is to the advantage of the MKO since it draws the attention of the US administration to Afghanistan and at least for a while they would forget about Iraq and Saddam Hussein. She then related the suicide bombing to the Islamic theology and claimed that only this sort of ideology could carry out that sort of complicated task.

Many MKO members who were present in that meeting have bared witness about that day and about that meeting after they left the group. When the US Forces occupied the Ashraf base “ the main base of the MKO in Iraq “ they interviewed many former members and they all explained the same story which was mentioned above. Although the US State Department has called the organisation a foreign terrorist group as well as a personality cult in its annual report, but unfortunately the report has deliberately failed to mention this mere fact that they practically hailed the 11th of September terrorist occurrence.

Some of ex-members emphasised that just before the US Forced occupied the Ashraf Camp, the MKO authorities destroyed a lot of tapes, discs and documents including the shots taken from the meeting mentioned above.

It should also be noted that since the incident of 11th of September up to now, the MKO has not by any means officially condemned this terrorist act and other military operations done by the Al-Qaeda in Europe. This in fact is despite the reality that the organisation continuously emphasises on the necessity of countering terrorism and in this manner even calls the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) the godfather of terrorism. The fact that the MKO has totally focused its antiterrorism propaganda on IRI and stays completely silent about the 11th of September terrorist act as the obvious symbol of international terrorism proves that the issue of countering terrorism is only considered by the leaders of the MKO as a useful tool and they do not basically reject it.

He said: "Of course, evidence does exist that in the south, say, there were operatives being supported by the British and in the east and the west both the English and the Americans have been involved and we have submitted this evidence to the foreign ministry so that the matter can be pursued through legal channels. If a court is convened then this evidence can be used in that court."

Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i started by paying tribute to the deceased statesmen of the Islamic Republic who lost their lives as a result of an assassination attempt: Doctors Raja’i and Bahonar.

He started by giving a brief rundown of the services of the Ministry to the nation. He said that the mission statement of the ministry is to protect the nation and system from all acts of subversion. He said that given the subversion and instability in the region the ministry has had a few challenging years but it has triumphed over all of these.

The Ministry has identified the programmes of the enemy and their tactics and strategies. He said that some of the services of the intelligence ministry will be made public to the nation soon.

On the Modus Operandi of the ministry he said that arresting of suspects is not necessarily the main objective of the intelligence ministry. The first objective is to identify the spies and not necessarily arresting the suspect. He added that initially the suspect must be warned so that if for any reason they have misguidedly cooperated with the enemy they can repent. Only if the suspect does not refrain from continuing his activities will he be arrested.

Asked if the main enemies are CIA and Mossad? Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i said that the enemy is not just CIA or MOSSAD although they are the main enemies.

He added that some had been duped by the enemy to collaborate and betray the nation in this misguided way. He reassured that these have been warned, sometimes through being pursued by the Judiciary, and they are now collaborating with the ministry.

He added that there were yet others who had gone even further and could not be counselled back to correcting their treacherous ways so they have, either been executed or are serving long term prison sentences.

Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i went on to say that there are spill over effects from terrorism in the region. He reassured the viewers that The intelligence ministry coordinated with many of the government organisations in order to combat the spill over instability and subversion effects.

He added that the remit of the intelligence ministry is not only to neutralise the conspiracies but to also combat the causes of these conspiracies through intelligence and research work.

He went on to pay tribute to his government saying that never before has the intelligence ministry been as coordinated with other government institutions since it became a ministry in 1984.

He used the illustrative case of fighting economic corruption as one of the areas his ministry is charged with dealing. He said that the ministry is also involved in identifying the causes of this corruption.

He said that different government ministries are vetted on a random basis in order to not only report back to the minister in charge but also as a confidence building exercise to combat corruption.

On worries expressed over flight of capital as a result of the seemingly intrusive methods of the ministry he said that contrary to these concerns and expectations the merchants have themselves a stake in this anti-corruption drive. He went on to add that an umbrella organisation ahs been set up to give support to merchants and capital owners and investors.

Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i then went on to talk about the role of the ministry in the democratic process. He reassured that the various ministries who are involved in conducting elections approach his ministry with a view to being served information of the prospective candidates in order to help officials vet the candidates.

Asked about the changing tactics of the counterrevolutionaries, Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i said that the enemies have realised that the tactics of assassination and killing have failed. They are now trying to convey the impression to the people that the leaders of the Islamic Republic are inept in running the country. They are pursuing the objective of creating a rift between the officials and the people.

He went on to say that the enemies are, also, involved in ditching their previous terror tactics and participate in what he called soft overthrow. They are for example using forum of cultural, youth and elite gatherings to recruit prospective talent. Once the recruits are identified by the enemy they are invited to conferences and pseudo-cultural centres abroad and counselled to work for the enemy. He went on to reassure that this ploy has also met with defeat and many of these prospective recruits are, themselves, collaborating with the ministry and denouncing their previous activities and collaborators.

He went on to say that in the eastern parts of the country some are involved in physical assassination. Many of their shy supporters have distanced themselves from this kind of activity showing that the tactics of the enemy has evolved. Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i expressed wonder as to why the human rights organisations do not ever protest the activities of these groups?

Asked if there is any evidence of the armed groups working against the government in Iran being supported by the West principally Britain and the USA, he said that this evidence exists and if ever there was an opportunity to submit this to a court of law Iran will do so:

"I have to reiterate that given the insecurities that exist all around us in Iraq in Afghanistan or some other countries neighbouring us, and given the attempts that the enemy is conducting against us, the level of insecurity that we are suffering from is [relatively] low. Of course, we and other government organs will make the maximum of efforts not to overlook even one possible instance [Of subversion]. We are surrounded in the east, the west and the south by insecurity. We know that the British and the Americans and others who are being supported by the British and the Americans are active in these border regions. But even with this amount of instability we should not feel insecure. Of course, evidence does exist that in the south, say, there were operatives being supported by the British and in the east and the west both the English and the Americans have been involved and we have submitted this evidence to the foreign ministry so that the matter can be pursued through legal channels. If a court is convened then this evidence can be used in that court."

He went on to talk about the deterrent aspects of the ministry work saying that the ministry is just one organisation within the committee set up to combat fraud and economic corruption and that he can not reveal names as there are legal issues that he has to adhere to.

Asked about the possible connections of the economic criminals with influential political figures inside the system, he said that of course there are connections but the ministry tries to be politically neutral and not to be intimidated by these political influences.

Asked about the conspiracies of ”Zionism” against the Islamic Republic he said that there were cases of people conducting industrial espionage in the communications and nuclear industries but these have all been neutralised and the successes of the ministry are all too palpable.

Asked about the recent release of Haleh Esfandiyari and the possible release of Kian Tajbakhsh, the American academics of Iranian extraction, and whether it is because nothing was proved against either of these tow figures? He said that just because they have been released it does not mean that the evidence against them did not exist:

"I have to say something about the fact that they have been liberated. You see, crime and criminality do not mean that the person being suspected has to necessarily be arrested. It is only in certain cases that the law making bodies have charged us with arresting an individual if he has committed or is suspected of having committed a crime that we arrest on the spot. These instances are of course quite rare. But the suspect is only arrested if that suspect is deemed to be dangerous or if he is abroad or he may flee. It could, of course, be that he is in collaboration with others. It could be that he is involved in destroying indicting evidence against himself. If these matters are at play then that person has to be arrested. Until when would that person remain under arrest? He would remain under arrest until such time that one of or more of these issues are still at play. So if say there was a possibility of collaboration and he was arrested then the following day another person who was also involved in this collaboration was arrested and the nature of their collaboration was clarified then the first person would be released. So just because a certain person has been released it does not mean that the charges against him were light and that his crime has not been proved."

Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i went on to say that the ministry is up against Soft Overthrow.

Asked if the two had revealed any names Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i said that he can not say for legal reasons.

On the Student of Amir Kabir University arrested for agitating against the government Hojjat-Ol-Eslam Mohseni-Ezhe’i said that there were two groups of people who were involved: Those who were students who were duped and those who were agitating and who were not at all functioning within the remit of a student or academic.

On the arrest of Shahram Jazayeri, an ”economic criminal” who was arrested earlier he said that there was cooperation between the ministry and the country where Jazayeri was arrested but that the ministry does not operate in other countries as it is illegal.

On the parallel institutions that are suspected to be operating inside the ministry he said that the ministry is a homogenous and uniform organisation and that all its operations are well coordinated and joined up with other government bodies. He, also, reminded the viewers that the ministry can be contacted through the telephone number 113 not to mention the various provincial offices that are set up in these areas.

On the Anniversary of a Terrorist Operation

On the anniversary of one of the first bloody terrorist moves of MKO, one might be astounded to see that the she-guru of a globally blacklisted terrorist cult and who acts as a surrogate for her husband, whose whereabouts are unknown, “appeals to the international conscience to condemn the executions inside Iran”, as recently advertised by the group’s alias website, NCRI. It seems that the shedding of Iranian people’s blood is no crime to torment the conscience of the group’s leaders.

MKO’s resort to armed struggle was the beginning of a bloody chapter in Iranian history that contains numerous pages of violence and terror perpetrated by the terrorist organization. Following many scattered instances of terrorist operations resulting in the killing of many innocent civilians and Iranian ranks, the next second blow came in August 30, 1981.

On the day at 3 p.m, the terrorist agents of MKO exploded a powerful bomb in the Prime Ministry Building in central Tehran. Following the explosion, a fire broke out in the building. The newly elected Iranian President Mohammad-Ali Rajai and his Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar were both in the building when the bomb explode and added their names to the list of the victims of MKO’s atrocities.

The terrorist operation justifiably worked for the proscription of MKO as a terrorist group. As described by the State Department’s report “In 1981, the MEK detonated bombs in the head office of the Islamic Republic Party and the Premier’s office, killing some 70 high-ranking Iranian officials, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei, and Premier Mohammad-Javad Bahonar”.

Al-Mousavi:Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal to try MKO

The chief prosecutor of the Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal (ISCT), Jaafar al-Mousavi, has said there is evidence to suggest that terrorist Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) had a hand in murdering Iraqi citizens.

About 150 MKO members, including the ringleaders Maryam and Mas’oud Rajavis, are currently under arrest warrant, al-Mousavi told the Mehr News Agency on Tuesday.

“The Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunals will prosecute and put into trial criminals all over the world,” al-Mousavi stated, adding that in case such criminals have left Iraq, their countries of residence will be asked to hand them over to Iraqi courts.

"We have made probes into crimes that the former regime committed with cooperation of various groups, and during the investigations we have collected documents that prove the complicity of Mojahedin-e-Khalq in inhumane actions in southern and northern Iraq in 1991, the so-called Sha baniyyah Revolution,” he noted.

“The crimes fall into two categories, the first is about murder, torture and (illegal) detentions,” he said, adding there are documents that prove the terrorist organization was involved in the murder, torture, and detention of Iraqi national in the Iraqi Kurdistan.

The second category includes the waste of Iraqi national wealth, al-Mousavi said.

The MKO was a complicit in wasting the Iraqi wealth and they even had a share in the Iraqi oil, he explained.

The SICT bases it work on UN Security Council Resolution 1483, he said, explaining that the resolution, which came into force on May 22, 2003, emphasizes that all those who committed crimes in the Baathist regime should be brought to justice, al-Mousavi explained.

The MKO was founded by Mohammad Hanifnejad, Saied Mohsen and Ali-Asghar Badizadegan in Tehran in 1965. It is blamed for carrying several terrorist attacks against Iranian citizens.

The organization transferred its headquarters to Iraq in 1986. The organization received all of its military support and most of its financial assistance from Saddam’s regime until the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. Near the end of the 1980-1988 war with Iran, Baghdad armed the group with military equipment and sent it into action against Iranian forces.

The Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal is a body established under Iraqi national law to try Iraqi nationals or residents accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes or other serious crimes committed between 1968 and 2003. It has organized the trial of Saddam Hussein and other members of his Baath Party regime.

Iraqi Authorities' stance on the MEK

Names of Iraqis Killed By MKO Released

"The Organization for Protection of Iraqis’ Rights" called on the Iraqi government to prosecute the MKO leaders, who have been involved in killing more than 780 Iraqis during their presence in Iraq.

This organization asked the families of martyrs to go to the court.

The names of some of the martyrs, according to judicial references, are as follows:

11. Somayeh Zein al-Aabedin

12. Ali Mohammed Javili

13. Nabil Nour Hassan

14. Abdi Mohammed Sadeq

The above martyrs were all from Tuz Khormato region
