Another group of Liberty residents relocated to Albania

On Friday September 13th, another group of MKO members residing at Camp Liberty as a temporary transit location transferred to Albania, reported by Mohammad Karami – MKO former member.

This is said to be the ninth group on the series of relocations to Albania.

A total number of 159 members have been relocated to Albania before this latest resettlement, based on the report.

Tirana has offered to house some 210 members of the MKO in Albania.

For years, the UN has been searching for countries willing to host the MKO members.

"Resettlement outside Iraq is now the priority, and it is urgent that countries ready to host the residents come forward to accept them, providing them a safe future outside Iraq," UN deputy special envoy Gyorgy Busztin said in a statement after the September 1st clashes at Camp Ashraf.

The raid on Camp Ashraf on September 1st that resulted in the killing of 52 residents is a matter of concern and sorrow.

To probe the situation and the main causes of such an incident, it is crucial to review the mutual quadra agreement signed by the American and Iraqi governments, the United Nations and the Mujahedin Khalq Organization ( MKO).

The relocation of about 3000 members of the MKO to Camp Liberty – while 100 members remained in Ashraf – was part of the process to expel the group out of Iraqi territory. The Iraqi government was responsible to ensure the security and safety of the MKO forces for a specific period of time, until they would be transferred to Iran or third countries.

However, the strategic aim for the leader of the MEK cult, Massoud Rajavi was to return to Ashraf and to reinstall his entire forces there after sometime. For Rajavi Camp Ashraf had turned into a strategic notion or even an ideological one.

Actually the evacuation of Camp Liberty depends on third countries’ willingness to accept them. Third countries have not welcomed such a plan and so far a few numbers of residents have managed to move to Albania and Germany. Obviously, the cult leaders have never been willing to let members leave the MKO in groups or individually (in absence of the cult’s regulations and influence).

On the other hand, the MKO had to leave Iraqi territory up to December 2011, regarding numerous warnings by the Iraqi government and rulings of the Iraqi courts and also according to the MOU signed between the MKO and the UN.

The case of the MKO forces in Iraq got very complicated because the group leaders want to maintain Camp Ashraf. They make a number of members stay there under the pretext of taking care of and selling the group properties in an unlimited period.

Due to the disorders taking over the entire Iraqi soil, the Iraqi government has not obtained complete control over insecurities. Considering previous attacks on the group’s camps, the MKO leaders were well aware that sooner or later their camps would be attacked again. If the MKO leaders cared about the safety and security of their members, they wouldn’t ask them to defend to the death Camp Ashraf so members could leave the camp and disperse. In fact, Massoud Rajavi is responsible for the killing on his forces. Iraqi government has the right to abstain from keeping them in their territory although it has to provide safety and security for the residents of Ashraf and Liberty.

In photos released on Camp Ashraf incidents, dead bodies are shown, shot in the head and handcuffed behind their backs. Regarding the fact that dead bodies and photographs both belong to the MKO, itself, the reality cannot be simply verified. Nejat Society is not pleased with victimization of the imprisoned members of the MKO who are abused by Massoud Rajavi’s evil manipulative system and his ill-minded ambitions. The victims of the MKO are not able to realize the conditions they are stuck in so they can not liberate themselves from the bars of this horrible, criminal cult.

The residents of Camp Liberty should be able to choose their future path with their own free will. They should admit that the “Cult of Rajavi” has no right to stay in Iraq.

Iraqi government is also responsible to investigate the case and find the perpetrators of the attack to be brought to justice.

Does she still want to return to Ashraf ?

The attack Sunday September 1st on Camp Ashraf ended with the killing of 52 high ranking members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (the MKO). Those members had been remained at the Camp to allegedly watch Back to Ashraf; Back to disaster the group’s properties. The attack was reportedly the most bloody of the several mortar attacks on MKO camps in Iraq. However, the MKO leaders and supporters view “return to Ashraf” as the best solution to guarantee the security and safety of MKO members!

The news on the recent attack on Camp Ashraf is controversial. No credible report has been published on details of the incidence except those released by the group propaganda but one thing is sure: Camp Ashraf is not a safe place for former partners of Saddam Hussein who aided him in operations to suppress Kurdish and Shiite uprisings during the 1990’s. Iraqi people have sought to expel the MKO from their territory since the collapse of Baath regime but the MKO leaders’ unyielding position was to stay in Iraq. The group leaders have urged to return the members to Camp Ashraf since February 2013 when the majority of members were transferred to Camp Liberty, a former US military base near Baghdad airport.

In February 2013, following a much slighter attack on Camp Liberty –only five people were killed – Maryam Rajavi claimed that there was no guarantee of protection and safety for the residents at Camp Liberty and “the only way to prevent further killing is to compel the Iraqi government to return 3000 defenseless residents of Camp Liberty to Ashraf, their home for 26 years”.

Since then, running the agenda of “Return to Ashraf” became a nonstop approach to prolong the group’s stay in Iraq. Advocates of the MKO among European MPs including their long-time sponsor Struan Stevenson also emphasized on “return to Ashraf” as “ the first step “ to rescue Liberty residents before their relocation to third countries. Stevenson and his peers state that Ashraf is “much more secure” against attacks.

Besides European sponsors of Maryam Rajavi, a delegation of her advocates in the US congress including Ted Poe who visited her at that time tried to appease her by saying that “the full protection of the residents of Camp Liberty can only be ensured by moving them out of the harm’s way and returning them to their home for 26 years at Camp Ashraf.”

The so called “home for 26 years” is actually a part of Iraqi territory granted by former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein to foreign insurgents – the MKO members. Iraqi nation do not want the MKO as the remnants of the former dictator in their soil anymore.

Why do not the MKO leaders and their Western supporters “emphasize” on the residents’ urgent relocation to third countries?

Regarding the fact that previous attacks on Ashraf (April 2011 and July 2009) and Liberty (February 2013 ) were warnings for the group leaders to act more seriously to transfer residents out of Iraq and to cooperate more willingly with the UN. Nonetheless, Maryam Rajavi and her disappeared husband, Massoud Rajavi are so reluctant for the relocation process that one can conclude that they benefit more from staying in Iraq than leaving it ! Their agenda of “Return to Ashraf” is now considered absolutely questionable. The process of martyr-making out of attacks on the MKO camps using them to draw the World attention to the group or at least to gain their sympathy provides more fuel to the group’s propaganda machine. Bad for the group leaders, this time the world’ attention is focused on Syria.

Iraqi forces attacked Camp Ashraf at last midnight.

Reports suggest the clashes on September 1st, left some members dead and injured and some have been arrested by the Iraqi forces. Iraqi forces attacked Camp Ashraf at last midnight

There is no confirmed report on the grounds of the attack.

The Camp Ashraf accommodates about 100 MKO members and the rest have already been transferred to Camp Liberty as a temporary location in preparation for resettling in other countries.

The Iraqi Government has on several occasions declared its intention to completely evacuate the Camp Ashraf.

The US Central Sixty years after the 1953 coup, the US bugs Iran using the MKO Intelligence Agency (CIA) officially admits it was behind the coup against Iranian democratically elected Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mosaddeq in August 1953. However, the release of such a document doesn’t mean that the United States has stopped taking actions to destabilize Iranian government. The Mujahedin Khalq Organization with its dark history of treason and bloodshed against the Iranian nation is now being backed by the US.

The 1953 coup had a severe impact on the aspirations of the Iranian people for democracy and freedom. It severely suppressed the Iranian pro-democracy movement that eventually turned into the Islamic revolution in 1979. Foreign Policy website that first published the news of the CIA’s document on TPAjax operation (the coup was codenamed as Ajax) suggest,” the event’s reverberations have haunted its orchestrators over the years, contributing to the anti Americanism that accompanied the Shah’s ouster in early 1979,and even influencing the Iranians who seized the US Embassy in Tehran later that year.”[1]

Regarding the Iranian people, the newly published document has nothing new because as the Iranian American historian Ervand Ebrahamian tells the Guardian,” The basic facts are widely known to every school child in Iran”. He adds, “Suppressing the details only distorts the history and feeds into myth-making on all sides.”[2]

Actually the United State has never ceased its covert attacks against Iran. Meteor Blades of the Daily KOS lists US hostile acts after the 1953 coup for “curtailing” Iran, “while controversial war, the bomb-bomb-bomb Iran approach has been so far avoided because that still remains a last resort of the bipartisan consensus ,other attacks on Iran have continued ,including by means of Stuxnet, the cyber-weapon built by the National Security Agency together with CIA and Israeli Intelligence and used to temporary cripple the Uranium enrichment operations in Natanz, Iran.” At the end, he notices the role of the MKO in the US-Israeli backed operations against Iranians,” There are, in addition, assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists by the Iranian terrorist organization Mojahedin-e-Khalq assisted with funding and training assistance of America’s ally Israel.”[3]

In April 2012, the investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh published his famous article,” our Men in Iran” in which he revealed that American Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) conducted training cources for members of the MKO in Nevada. The MKO agents received training in “commo, crypto, small unit tactics, and weaponry”, a retired US general told Hersh. [4]

Seymour Hersh also cites of a former senior intelligence official that the operations to destabilize IR including the killing of five Iranian nuclear scientists are “primarily being done by the MEK through liaison with the Israelis, but the United States is now providing the Intelligence”. Hersh asserts that the links between the US and the MKO activities against Iran has been long-standing. [5]

In August 1953, the US and British governments toppled one of the most efficient Iranian Prime Ministers because “he tried to nationalize Iranian oil wealth from Britain.” [6] The Guardian puts,” in recent years Iranian politicians have sought to compare the dispute over the country’s nuclear activities to that of the oil nationalization under Mosaddeq.”[7]

While the US spying and terrorist activities by the aid of the MKO continues to irritate Iranians, the American soldier Bradley Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison because of leaking intelligence to Wikileaks website. Professors and legal experts and civil rights groups called the sentence “outrageous” and “unprecedented” reported Tom McCarthy of the Guardian. It’s “seriously wrong” for a soldier who shared information with the public to be punished “far more harshly that others who tortured prisoners and killed civilians”, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) told McCarthy. [8] In addition to the case of Manning, we’ve got Julian Assange, the editor- in-chief and founder of Wikileaks and Edward Snowden former CIA agent who is behind his significant revelations on US surveillance program that "destroyed privacy and basic liberties". Both men were forced to live in exile for fear of being imprisoned in their homeland. They are considered as traitors by the US government.

Therefore, the American advocates of the Mujahedin Khalq might be able to understand how the Iranian people and authorities feel about the MKO. The group was sheltered, funded and trained by Saddam Hussein and fought on his side against his own country-men. It was then funded, trained and used by the US and Israel to commit acts of violence and spying on Iranian nuclear activities.

Regarding the recent confessions on 1953 coup and facts on its advocacy for the MKO, the United States should not expect the Iranian public to have a positive view on his alleged green lights for negotiation.

Rajavi has difficulty to please the US, When will the US put the MKO aside?

While the Mujahedin Khalq Organization’s propaganda arm spends large amounts of money to buy the support of American high-profiles, US government is not willing to make strategically friendly relationship with the group.

In September 2012, the US State Department removed the Mujahedin Khalq Organization from its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations but American prudent approach to the MKO as a cult-like group that maintains the capacity to commit terrorist acts was clear in the statement the department published to announce the delisting. "With today’s actions, the department does not overlook or forget the MEK’s past acts of terrorism, including its involvement in the killing of US soil in 1992”, the statement reads. “The Department also has serious concerns about the MEK as an organization, particularly with regard to allegations of abuse committed against its own members.”

The US history is full of examples of temporary tactical alliances with terrorist groups such as Taliban, Al-Qaida…. Based on such historical facts, the American prominent scientist and political critic, Noam Chomsky concludes, ”The United States is a leading Terrorist State.” However, none of the above mentioned alliances last forever. They get expired in accordance with the American interests. In the process of the MKO’s relocation from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty, the US administration aided the UN Special representative in Iraq and after the relocation to Liberty and the consequent transfer of a number of Liberty residents to Albania, appreciated the efforts of Martin Kobler on different occasions. On the other hand, the MKO’s American advocates including Rep. Tom Ridge, Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Rep. Howard Dean and Democratic Rep. Judy Chu and many other paid advocates of the group call on returning the residents of Camp Liberty to Camp Ashraf.

Although after the delisting, the MKO was allowed to open its office in Washington DC, its position in the US territory is very fragile. What if the US-Iran relations come in to a peaceful conclusion? Will the US stay a safe haven for the MKO? The United States is mchoosier than the MKO leaders to make friends among former enemies of its nation. The MKO’s anti-imperialist long-time strategy is always considered as a dark point by the US.

This is what the MKO fears the most: A normal US – Iran relation which is more likely after the election of an Iranian moderate president. To stop such a “night mare” taking place, the MKO’s propaganda beats harder on war drums trying to portray Dr. Hassan Rouhani as what they call "theocrat”.

Actually, the options are left to the US to whether use or abuse the MKO. The MKO can never be a long-time ally for the US.

The MKO- Israeli mutual Services

The Mujahedin Khalq Organization and its propaganda arm, National Council of Resistance resorting to all means to convince their narrow-minded audience that “moderation in Iran is a mirage”. As a matter of fact the audience for the MKO mostly includes neo-conservative warmongers especially American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) that has recently pushed a bill to impose more severe sanctions against Iran’s oil exports. AIPAC actually follows Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu who calls the Iran’s newly elected President Hassan Rouhani a” wolf in sheep’s clothing”. And MKO is completely in line with its western masters in their animosity against the Iranian nation.

Less than a month after the election of Dr. Hassan Rouhani as the Iranian president the MKO propaganda claimed evidence of what he called a hidden nuclear site under mountains near Tehran. The news was nothing except some satellite photos that did not attract much attention. The images did not appear to constitute hard evidence to support the assertion that it was a planned nuclear facility, according to Reuters.[1] The group also claimed that the recently elected president Hassan Ruhani, a former nuclear negotiator, had a “key role “in the program on several occasions, reported the AFP.[2]

The MKO’s so-called revelations on the Iranian nuclear program go back to 2002, when they published information on Natanz Uranium facility. Their report was soon come out to be leaked to them by Israeli Intelligence sources. In 2004, the American prominent journalist Seymour Hersh reported that IAEA official had told him that the information on the Iranian nuclear site had come from Israeli Intelligence, Mossad.[3]

The long time cooperation between the MKO and Israel is not restricted to spying operations. The mutual advantage they grant each other also include the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists. Following the assassination of Mustafa Ahmadi Roshan Richard Silverstein cited from his “own confidential Israeli source” who confirmed that “the murder was the work of the Mossad and MEK – he had previously asserted that Israel was utilizing the MKO operatives for the killing of other Iranian scientists Majid Shahriari and Massoud Ali Mohammadi. [4] Also, Richard Engel and Robert Winderm of NBC Television quoted US officials that the attacks on Iranian nuclear scientists are being carried out by an Iranian dissident group that is financed, trained and armed by Israel’s secret service.”[5]

The most recent account on MKO-Israeli connections – meanwhile the oldest link between them – was published by Gareth Porter, the investigative journalist at IPS (Inter Press Service). Porter reported last week that “Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman based his 2006 warrant for the arrest of top Iranian officials in the bombing of a Jewish community centre in Buenos Aires in 1994 on the claims of representatives of the armed Iranian opposition Mujahedin E Khalq (MEK).”[6]

Based on Porter’s investigations, "the document which is available in English for the first time shows that Nisman’s only sources to accuse Iranian officials of Argentine Israeli Mutual Association bombing were members of the MKO". He calls Nisman’s 900-page arrest warrant a “rambling”,” repetitious” report that cites statement of four members of the terrorist National Council of resistance (NCR).

While Nisman describes MKO agents’ testimonies as “completely truthful”, Porter dismisses MKO’s claims as traditionally false. “The record of MEK officials over the years, however has been of putting out one communiqué after another that contained information about alleged covert Iranian work on nuclear, chemical and biological weapons”, states Porter,” nearly all of which turned out to be false when they were investigated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”

Denouncing Nisman as a pro-Israel figure who “has long been treated in pro-Israel, anti-Iran political circles as the authoritative source on the AMIA bombing case and the broader subject of Iran and terrorism” Porter concludes that he is indeed “playing a political role on behalf of certain powerful interests rather than uncovering the facts.”[7]

The above mentioned facts – that are probably a few of numerous secret ties between the MKO and Israel – demonstrate that mutual interests make mutual services. The ugly truth is that the Zionist – Mujahedin nasty alliance in spying and murdering would be called terrorism only if the targeted victims were western citizens.

Human Rights Abuse in the MEK

MKO tries to make another Camp Ashraf in Albania

Shirin Moini was deceived into the MKO when she was 20 and an undergraduate student at Isfahan University. She then was transferred to the Camp Ashraf and broke all family ties for 9 years without her family knowing where she was.

Last month Shirin; now a dissent member within the organization transferred to Albania and managed to provide a mobile phone and contact her family asking for help. She informed family of her intention of living an ordinary life in the free world and out of the MKO cult’s boundaries. She had no access to the Internet and had no e-mail address.

Her contact with the family cut, after her secret relations with her family revealed to the cult officials. It is now for several weeks that her family has no news of Shirin.

Zanan Iran Association- female dispatched members of MKO – has announced a plea for help to free Mrs Shirin Moini from the MKO.

Her father Mohammad Moini and her sisters in Iran are asking for help to be able to meet her. Her cousin is Zahra Moini, now in Germany, who had been in the MEK herself.

People’s Mujahedin or Intel’s Mujahedin

Following the publication of reports on the then Secretary of state, Hillary Clinton’s decision to delist the People's Mujahedin or Intel's Mujahedin Mujahedin Khalq Organization from the US State Department list of foreign terrorist organizations in September 2012, one of the group’s high profile advocates, Congressman Ted Poe welcomed the Secretary’s intention stating that, the group “has been actively working with US intelligence agencies” (!)

”Some believe that one factor to facilitate the MKO’s removal from terror list was the amounts of money paid to groups like the MKO in order to destabilize the Iranian government,” suggested Mohammad Alavi a blogger of anti-MKO Aria Association "before the MKO was delisted, there was legal prohibition to use the group for that goal". He notices that the US Congress has approved a 3 billion dollar budget for influential efforts to overthrow the states labeled as "rebel" by the United State. The money is paid in cash or for example in exchange for the MKO’s social and political activities.

The fact leads us to the conclusion that the speaking fees the neo-con figures received for their speeches in pro-MKO rallies – which mounted from 3000$ to 16000 $ for a ten minute speech– were actually guaranteed by the US intelligence services that have already fed the MKO for its spying operations against Iran!

Indeed, American warmonger efforts to delist the MKO and the NCRI were useful in many ways. The dirty business of the MKO and its sponsors is now legally (!) registered under the guise of Democracy for Iran. The MKO opened its office across from the White House to facilitate such financial deals with its intelligence masters and congressional sponsors.

Following the confessions and reports on large amounts of money circulated and laundered among American donors and sponsors of the MKO ,the group so-called analysts assert that lobbying activities and paying money to Guiliani, Tep Poe ,Kennedy, Michael Mukasey , Bob Filner and … will stop bloodshed in the MKO camps. They claim that it will be a move for the sake of "people" and we should regard such payments as the Blood Money of "people"!

Speaking of “people”, you may remind the group propaganda that the MKO and NCR have not been on the side of “people” for over 35 years; the MKO is stranger to the “ people” of Iran. By regarding the MKO on People’s side, the MKO has to answer many questions over its cooperation with the Israeli and American Intelligence Service and over the 25 years of Massoud Rajavi’s obedience to Iraqi Intelligence chief under Saddam Hussein, General Taher Al Jalil Haboush.

Thus, Labeling the MKO as a popular group and assuming its acts as struggle for people is no honest as well as its paid advocates’ support for “Ashraf” and “Democracy in Iran”. As Michael Rubin former Pentagon official puts, "Mujahedin Alkhalq is a dishonest creepy cult". Even the opposition to Islamic Republic views the MKO as atraitors, spies, terrorists and mercenaries. Based on significant evidences and confessions of the group sponsors, the most meaningful term to address the so-called People’s Mujahedin is "Intel’s Mujahedin".
